{Ed039's Note - Very experienced and by all accounts succesful in his field)

RIFC appoint
Independent Chairman, Mr David Somers. Mr Somers has no beneficial Share interest in RIFC.

Insight Investment Institutional Fund owns 3. 3% of RIFC.

Guess who's the head of said fund!.

Agree0 Disagree0

Paddy, they are not listed as owning more than 3% in rangers

Mr Somers is currently a Non Executive Director of ACE Europe Life, part of the ACE Group of insurance and reinsurance companies; Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Audit & Risk Committee of Europe Arab Bank; Independent Trustee & Chairman of the Investment Sub Committee at Fujitsu Technologies International Pension Plan and, Chairman of the Investment Committee at TCF Investment Managers Ltd.

His work history is staggering, I don't believe he would sully that background, but I may be wrong,
hope not because he seems to be just wot we need rite need

I think if you studied every inch of a very successful businessman and CEO of many companys from all of his career you will find links to hundreds of other businessmen etc. , And many companys who have come and gone, I really believe he is a good thing, Cue the tedious snide comments
Tommyblue

Agree0 Disagree0

If you read the details of the rather tenious link that the rag has written, you could take the same view on numerous individuals, they are absolutely determined to come up with anything that can detract.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tommy, he has been put in place by the club. Would you trust any of those pulling the strings? Nothing snide there, sooner we clear them all out the better, new regime in place. doubt it will be as simple as that though I am afraid. Still has a bit to run yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

First of all we are all bears and comments not meant to be snide. until we get clarity of blue pitch and magarita holdings I will not trust anyone that as much as sent a xmas card to Whyte or Green to be on the board and untill they prove to the faithful they are genuine regardless of their business prowess I will be very wary.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am amazed at how many of you seem to jump on bandwagon of everyone put forward by this shower of chancers

Agree0 Disagree0

N10 exactly mate lots of us want current board out so ide imagine he will be leaving with his muckers I also think anybody this lot try to bring in will get thumbs down if yae fly with the craws yae will get shot wae the craws

That was some boxing match last night. Went the 12 rounds n got the 3 points. Few casualties now tho. It's a bit worrying though when we can't get out of first gear, becoming a regular occurrence. If we take this mentality with us to the premier then we'll be rubber ducked. Hopefully it's just a phase. Anyhow was a good protest with the sos even if it was lashing down. My ugly dial in the daily reprobate today. Hopefully we'll all get the change that we crave n our great club can move forward with pride.

Excellent anomaly RB. They fought hard. Like a Sleuth of bears they all showed more bottle and strength last night than they did the whole of last season. Well done troops. PS hope the walking wounded get better soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ocrsc. Definitely got a spark that was missing last season. Hopefully we'll go from strength to strength. My only concern is the length of time it takes for us to get properly started. And before anyone accuses me of being a doom mongerer, I am more than happy with the prolific form the team is showing. Just slightly worried about the lack of "get go" early on.

Some here seem to be really missing the point with current attendances and finances. The 43,000 plus that are attending are not paying gate money! The majority paid for season tickets up front! And that season ticket money has gone, same as the share issue money. Rangers currently have NO revenue stream until next years season tickets, another share issue, or a divine benefactor stepping in (unlikely). Wake up!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Strips, memorabilia, food and drink at stadium, Rangers TV, programmes and not every fan attending is a ST holder. Anyone else want to add to list of revenue streams for the OP feel free.

Agree0 Disagree0

#2
dont think Rangers get much from the strips, the food or even the programmes
it filters off into the 'other' side companies.
(Could be wrong)

you could very well be right too Bill, in fact I would put money on it, as JMC says, we could be "Critical" by April, that's scary,
tommyblue

Agree0 Disagree0

No 2. Exactly, Rangers get very little from Match Day sales or strips or the like, as they sold the rights or licensing for these activities to either other companies for one off three year deals, or they are ownwed by "side companies". Basically Rangers owners pocketed this up-front. All nicely stitched up BEFORE the IPO. When you buy your burgers Rangers get "nowt" as CG would say. CG got paid up front for them, boght a big house so he did. Wake Up!

Agree0 Disagree0

Op thanks for your shown an interest we know things ain't looking good just now but we also know we will get back to where we rightly belong and the main thing is we are still here eh

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh you are and hopefully you will be in SPFL in 2 years but am worried that doom is around the corner soon again. Some of you think that admin or liquidation will get rid of the spivs but what's to stop them giving admin to D&P again and using preferred bidder status again and starting the merrygo round again. and if the unthinkable happens will the clubs who stepped aside last time agree to step aside again and forgo membership of SPFL again or will court cases ensue if this is imposed on them. whether we like it or not a strong Rangers will push Celtic and mean better investment in my team as well as leave the SPFL in a stronger position to negotiate TV contracts here and abroad

Agree0 Disagree0

N6 I don't see duff and duffer getting anywere near football again admin wise they are under investigation with cw as far as I know we know there must be more headaches coming but we will be back whenever onwards and upwards I hope

So the Forfar game has been postponed and one reply rightly pointed out what if we had lost without the internationalists. Others had a fair point in saying our squad is good enough or give the youngsters a shot in their absence.

Another perspective is what if Ally did draft in three replacements and one or two played an absolute blinder? Does the internationalist get dropped and lose his place for the next game and if not, how does the manager explain to the replacement player that no matter how well they play, they're not playing in the next match. If Barry McKay came in and scored six, then what? You can compare this scenario with an internationalist risking getting injured playing for his national team. These guys play and train for their first team places and no manager can punish them for being good enough to get selected to play for their country.

What if Bell had been called up? Does McCoist have a policy of to postpone or not depending on the player? You can't manage nor run a club like that. In this instance I think the McCoist bashers got it wrong.
