I thinks warburton deserves time and a couple of transfer windows to get the team he's looking for and a big help from DAVE KING is needed it was always going to be really difficult this season so 2nd place for me will be a good season. We will be much better next year trust me bears!

08 Nov 2016 08:36:00
most of all we need help from the fans! all you hear at ibrox is people slating the team even when we are winning the team still gets slated.

08 Nov 2016 11:11:27
I said we'd finish second before a ball was kicked this season and still think that's the likeliest outcome.

But if we're second by a country mile then, no, that's not any kind of success. In fact if we finish 20 or so points behind them that is an absolute failure is it not?

07 Nov 2016 19:22:19
If I remember correctly didn't we buy admiral, or at least own part of that company? Also did we not make our kit through admiral. Most of the money made from the strips back then went to us too. So you can make cash through making your own kit.

08 Nov 2016 11:45:28
Yes your right the teddy bears, dm did own a good percentage of admiral back in the days although when we did make our own kits it was when diadora was the sportswear name that was etched onto the righthand side of our jerseys. The way it worked was we as a club manufactured our own kits and diadora gave us money to have their logo etched onto the shirt. What made you bring that up regarding kits mate, was someone else on about our current situ?

07 Nov 2016 18:11:37
I believe warburton has what it takes, but he really needs to stop treating this like the business' he's used to working for, he needs to understand that at a football club, the fans are an important part of the business and should be more to do with us, if I hear him saying 'that's all I'm going to say on the matter' at an interview one more time I might punch my mother.

08 Nov 2016 12:46:02
If u look at the players not one is giving a 100% which leads to one thing, he has lost the dressing room. none of the players can play or want to play his formation.

07 Nov 2016 17:38:43
Rossiter was released by Liverpool as he was always injured with niggles and misses game? Hope we don't see a pattern here😭😭😭?

07 Nov 2016 18:26:07
Did Liverpool not want to keep him.

08 Nov 2016 09:15:25
hes a class act, a would take ihim for a half a season every day of the week over the rest of the lads.

08 Nov 2016 15:36:09
Bbc - when will his half of the season start?
About the same time as Crooks?

08 Nov 2016 16:25:33
Spot on bluebloodgerz. Jordan rossiter is having a bad time of it with niggling injuries just now, i've seen this happen with a good few young players over the years. It does happen in a lot of young players as they're still developing you know, but young rossiter is a class act, of that imo there's no doubt. Can't wait to see him fit and an extended run in the team!

07 Nov 2016 16:52:00
I've just watched the highlights of the Ross County game again. I have to say three things though I'm not looking to make excuses. With the chances we had in the first half we should have scored four or five. Why are we missing so many easy chances? Secondly, the number of fouls Ross County made against our players when they were running forward was a disgrace and there should have been a red card. Professional fouls? Cheating I'd say. Finally, the pitch looked bobbly and hard and might have been a factor. Oh, and we should have had a penalty.
Warbuton must resort to a 3-5-2 with Hodson, Rossiter, Wilson and Crooks coming into the side.

07 Nov 2016 17:51:24
The one were the boy pulled windass back around his neck was assult should have been a red! And i thought maybe with blue tinted shades on that there was enough contact for a pen!

07 Nov 2016 17:54:04
Liverpool ger is it right that rossiter had a bad injury record at Liverpool . I know u said your family are all pool fans so u would know. better than us.

07 Nov 2016 17:58:38
Does not matter who is in the team, replace 2nd rate players with 2nd rate players still give you the same outcome, low level quality.

07 Nov 2016 18:39:11
Jaws, Rossi ter missed the last few months of the season before last then missed several months of last season with a hamstring injury, came back and aggravated it missing another several months. So highly rated by Liverpool definitely but injury prone as well so far, I'm afraid.

07 Nov 2016 19:11:30
Garbage garbage garbage. i was at the game. holt was a clear dive the boy never touched him. yes a couple pull backs on our players but nothing major. proffesional fouls that's all. fact of the matter is ross county were unlucky not to win. last 15 mins was all county and could have scored 4 or 5 in that time. pitch was ok and looked good. if you have 3/ 4 of a team not performing what do we expect.

07 Nov 2016 19:13:24
Thanks for info Liverpool ger. Its a shame the boy looks a good one as well.

07 Nov 2016 23:28:39
Our players are wimps and we need a proper captain. Can you imagine John Brown or any of Souness players reacting the way this bunch do when the opposition are a bit hard. Half that Ross County Team would have been nursing injuries for weeks against a Souness team if they had tried those tactics.

08 Nov 2016 08:16:15
Dodger

It is an excuse

Once is accident

Twice is a coincidence

Three times is "enemy action"

We have drawn 5 times and lost once when we should have won - this half our games played!

There are excuses for all these other games too .

08 Nov 2016 12:03:58
well davie 1980 look at the highlights again, I've watched them 4 times and the dundee player caught holt on the knee cap, a clear penalty, you see more on highlights than you see at the game, optical direct is on paisley rd west near the argosy pub lol.

08 Nov 2016 13:19:28
Its funny that bigdimps as holt already stated that he anticipated the touch so went down. boy never touched him. we just have to admit were not a top team at the moment.

08 Nov 2016 15:51:27
well davie have a look at it again from the camera behind the goal no harm done viewing it, well going by holts expression he wasnt happy, yes its shooting practise we need i think 3 players got booked for fouls on windass the one round the neck was a red card, he had lost them for pace.

08 Nov 2016 15:54:08
just one point i'd like to make just because the ref was at the game doesn't mean to say he was right, in fact he got a good few decisions wrong for both sides.

08 Nov 2016 17:46:47
Hate to say dumps but it's not a red, it's a yellow card you can't give somebody a red for pulling a boy back on halfway line. These are the kind of fouls our midfield should make but we just let teams walk through us because we've a team full of big blouses.

07 Nov 2016 14:48:17
Just my opinion so don't take it the wrong way but i think if barton had only been suspended for a week and came back into first team, we would have won yesterday, i think we should have signed either barton or kranjcar but no both, now that niko's injured we need barton to be playing, we need a phsical workhorse in the middle of the park no offence to them but hallidays a left back and holts no physical enough.

07 Nov 2016 15:26:03
I fully agree with you Gunnar9. I would love to see Barton back in the midfield. I think he would role the sleeves up when needed unlike the rest at the minute. Everyone hiding when it gets tough.

07 Nov 2016 15:32:30
Rossiter was growing nicely into that position, until his calf injury, 11 games he's missed now just hope he's back soon.

07 Nov 2016 15:45:22
the problem we have is not whether barton plays its unable to change tactics during or for another game other teams know how to play aainst us and our inability to defend corners and set peices when we have corners we do not always cross the ball into 6yard/ 18/ box we are missing waghorns / taverniers goals its a combination of all these factors and the managers inability to sort it out.

07 Nov 2016 16:34:21
I think the barton saga has went on too long and the player / man that he is is p*ssed off now and won't try his best for the team.
after he leaves u know he will be slating us so just get rid of him the now.

I don't want warbs sacked or to leave but do agree his stubbornness is costing us points . he must change to 4-4-1 or 4-5-1 as this formation isn't working at the top level we not consistently enough .

saying that the players themselves need a swift kick up the back side as they are playing like strangers at the minuite.

07 Nov 2016 19:29:08
Rossister managed to play good few games on the bounce in short space of time for England at euros under 19 so once fit I hope he can finish the season injury free.

07 Nov 2016 21:51:58
Jamesstirling would you blame him if he was to leave then bad mouth us, the way some so called fans have been speaking about him, he might be a physco but maybe he's right, maybe warbs has built a mid table team, no players are putting in the effort except kenny and windass, no just warbs stubborness, some of the players are terrible, mckay looks like a lost little boy anytime he gets the ball, waghorns too fat to play out wide, hallidays playing out of position, kiernans that slow ma gran can out run him wae her zimmer frame.

07 Nov 2016 23:32:43
My worry is that Warbs has a team of wimps and pansies. I do worry that he is preoccupied with playing pretty football that he sometimes forgets that the objective is to win. No one will thank him if he has a team that can't win games irrespective of how good the football is. The purest wants both, personally I don't believe that we have the players capable of that so I will be happy to settle for winning at all costs!

08 Nov 2016 12:46:05
Sorry but that's just a fairytale. A hypothetical. You can't know that. We could've lost every game since or ibrox could've floated into the sky like a UFO. Barton is trouble. The quicker he leaves, the better. It troubles me that some are so forgiving of him and yet want MW and other players axed for an average performance.

07 Nov 2016 14:12:52
nothing will happen big time until Ashley is gone, or paid off, until we start bringing in decent cash we are where we are. point of interest, if Warburton was a whizz kid on the stock market why not get him to find a backer there's an awful lot of Chinese and other far east cash pouring into sport all over the world, so surely one of them would see merit in backing our half of the old firm, its still one of the biggest games in football and captures millions around the world watching on TV, just a thought, don't laugh or ridicule the idea.

07 Nov 2016 14:57:27
I agree with the bit about Ashley but the bit about investors Chinese or otherwise is off the mark.
There is no return on Scottish football. The amount of money to be spent TRYING to get into the group stages of Europe could never be recovered and investor, unless they have a attachment to The Rangers, will never get their cash back. From an investment point of view buying and investing in an English League 1 side would produce a better return.
I also believe that for many teams in the premiership European qualification would be a bad business move, they don't need it. The longer term effect or will be interesting.

07 Nov 2016 16:39:01
cant wait for the bubble to burst down south as this level of money Is getting ridiculous and just like in Italy in the 80's / 90's the bubble will burst and most of them will end up in real trouble.
(wishfull thinking) ? I hope not.

07 Nov 2016 12:59:30
First post after reading for a while.

I like MW and DW and have enjoyed the style football they encourage, especially last season (when it worked) .
Since moving up to the top division, apart from the games against them, I haven't once had the thought "this system can't work because the opposition are better than last year". And our squad undoubtedly looks better on paper than it did last season. So what's the problem?
After yesterday's game I've made up my mind - commitment. I didn't see one Gers player give 100% yesterday, and it seems to be becoming common that the players will drift in and out of games, pulling out of challenges, not taking on their man, jogging about like it's a friendly.
Does anyone else get a feeling that they are simply not fit enough, not sharp enough, and not hungry enough to win games? How do you fix that mentality?

07 Nov 2016 13:23:19
Thats what football management is all about and that's exactly where we are failing I keep hearing about investment in better players or going 442! A good seasoned manager who knows the league and knows that teams will play 'destroying' football against us will have players right up for it and ready for a battle! Teams of a lesser quality aren't going to stand back and admire our short passing game! Warbs philosophy is great but it will not work here in the short time atleast!

07 Nov 2016 13:26:26
That is a very good suggestion Blue. Who knows?
I do have blue tinted specs when it comes to my team, and whoever (mostly! ) pulls on that jersey has my backing. Perhaps I see them as better than they really are. We shopped in the pound shop and maybe that's all we've got, players that were OK at a lower level and not fit for purpose at this one?
It's baffling.

07 Nov 2016 13:31:48
Unlike Chelsea's one touch football our players need two or three. Listen to our opponents, their players think they have the beating of us. Just look at our player profile and very few have a history of winning. Winning consistently is the fix to the mentality but we can't string successive ones together.

07 Nov 2016 14:00:12
As a current banished player said recently it mostly worked last season because the league was s***e.

07 Nov 2016 14:40:34
Can someone please tell me if wee Rossiter is injured? not sayin he's the answer to all probs but what's going on. Also I really do think Warbs needs to bin Wags for a while even bringing him on giv us nothing! Hate to say it but the lad ain't producing really have lost faith in him and it pains me to say it.

07 Nov 2016 15:00:49
Andy
Agree about Rossiter and also feel Senderos would be more use defending corners thn what we have, including Wilson
Also, why stop at Wags?
There are a few giving very little eg McKAy remains an empty jersey.

07 Nov 2016 15:49:11
Seen McKay talking about "dangerous" tackling from Ross County and Windass put up a post on Instagram of him being fouled a couple times saying it summed up the game. Ross County fouled us consistently on the break but none of the challenges were dangerous. And I thought during the game our players go down soon as they feel contact instead of trying to win the physical battle they just fall over. It's pathetic to be honest, need a bit more passion and grit from our players!

07 Nov 2016 18:57:21
Blue I believe the problem is much simpler than commitment levels. We give away too many goals from corners and can't take our chances. In other words the quality of player is not good enough. Our goal difference after 12 games confirms this.

07 Nov 2016 19:51:48
Totally agree with u blue as I posted earlier, people taking on here about red cards n dangerous tackles? Really? Wasn't a bad tackle in game most of fouls were just blatantly breaking up counter attacks what ud call taking one for the team! Maybe we should learn from it and toughen up ourselves none of our players are willing to make a foul.

07 Nov 2016 23:36:50
Exactly what does Davie Weir add? Our defence is woeful, our Captain can't lead the team, we are soft, there is no team spirit. This is where I thought Weir would come into his own but I see none of it!

07 Nov 2016 12:02:18
like it or not, Barton had the passion to be a decent captain, but he spoiled it all by telling Warbs some home truths.
My opinion for what its worth, find a way of keeping Barton, and see where we go from there.

07 Nov 2016 12:10:36
OR, kick burton so hard he lands right at the feet of sean dyche.

07 Nov 2016 12:30:19
IMHO barton isn't better than rossiter holt halliday windass which btw if we where to play 4-4-2 would be my midfield .

07 Nov 2016 12:46:01
you honestly think all this happened because Barton told a few home truths? get real.

07 Nov 2016 14:01:49
Barton was right in what he said and the manager and certain players in his cleek didn't like it. Warburton is a big kid who can't take criticism nor can some of his players who think they are much better than they are.

07 Nov 2016 14:28:00
Biffo you seem to be the one in the know of exactly what happened, fancy sharing?

07 Nov 2016 15:02:21
Cee

so what happened then?

07 Nov 2016 16:13:09
Biffo, it's patently obvious that you don't rate Warburton and want to see him sacked although interestingly I seem to remember an earlier post when you said if he did go you had no idea who would do any better. Your clear bias against him however also clouds your view about the Barton situation because unless you are a Rangers player or member of staff on here incognito how do you or any of the rest of us know what actually happened on that day rather than what various supposed"sources inside the club" may or may not have told the media.

07 Nov 2016 17:05:33
Liverpool Ger

Can you prove me wrong?

07 Nov 2016 17:11:50
No I don't rate Warburton and results are proving me correct.12 games played only 5 wins and already as good as 14 points behind Celtic. Can't change a game and tactics are easily predicted. Maybe you are happy with all that but some of us think it should be better.

07 Nov 2016 17:27:28
Biffo, wrong about which? Warburton being out of his depth-still too early to say, in my view. The Barton situation? Your reply is a bit nonsensical, in my view, As I said I wasn't there so no I can't prove you're wrong but unless you were can you prove you're right? If so let's hear how you know what actually happened.

07 Nov 2016 19:08:59
By the way, Biffo, no I'm not "happy with all that" and yes it certainly" should be better". Do I wish he'd have got a better central defender who knows how to mark at corners, yes and do I wish he'd vary his tactics as the game develops, yes but he says" judge me at the end of the season" and that is what I intend to do unless he gets the boot before. Celtic will probably win this league by around 30 points or so, the rest are all much of a muchness including us, I'm afraid. Everyone is capable of taking points of one another. Killie, the Accies and Thistle have all beaten each of our rivals in the last couple of weeks so they're not that great either. Practically speaking apart from the potential cost of getting rid who on earth would you realistically get in that would improve things immediately. Nobody that I know of so all I do have is hope that we will get better and soon.

07 Nov 2016 20:36:19
Liverpool Ger

You can't think much of him if your argument for keeping him is that we couldn't replace him. Warburton is not the answer.

07 Nov 2016 20:56:29
Biffo, as already implied by me the jury is out on MW at the moment. I do want him to succeed though and as a Rangers supporter don't you? Or would you rather he fail and you be proved right. Again if he is not the answer who, right now, given our oft discussed financial situation, is, can I ask?

07 Nov 2016 09:19:59
A european spot is all good and well like some off you are saying but with this team we won't make the group stages so it won't solve our problems, its investment we need imo for better players to take us to the Level can't see were that is going to come from though.

07 Nov 2016 09:24:28
Yes very true Slydog, depending on what draw we get we won't make it. however if we do finish 2nd or 3rd we will invest in the squad so that we do make the group stages.

07 Nov 2016 10:15:05
You say you will "invest". So tell me, where is the money coming from? .

07 Nov 2016 10:33:56
Bhampot, no doubt it will be a loan. we spent money this year, no doubt we will spend in the summer again, or we could steal a few players from down south, plenty of good players are available.

07 Nov 2016 10:35:05
nope not telling you bhampot.

07 Nov 2016 10:51:31
I thought gers played ok first half yesterday. Miller and garner should have had us 3 up before they scored. The worry for me is the lack of fitness in the team they can't last a full game. Every 2nd half of games there's a noticeable drop in pace even killie game pace dropped.

07 Nov 2016 13:19:17
McKay said that was not us today, well I have news for him "it was". More of the same old excuses after a poor performance. The premier league standard is extremely poor yet we cannot win regularly. Ross County, Kilmarnock, Hamilton and St Johnstone have all taken points from Rangers. MW is not getting the best out of the team, we are way behind celtic but we should be a class above the rest.

07 Nov 2016 13:30:08
Why are we accepting this as supporters? its the most basic asset in any sport to be in peak physical condition! Its a discrace tbh that RANGERS players are in that state on a football park.

07 Nov 2016 13:55:31
IF we managed to get into the Europa league qualifiers we would last 1 maybe 2 rounds. No way under this manager are we getting into the group stages. We are a poor side easy to play against and wide open at the back. God knows what a good side would do to us.

07 Nov 2016 15:10:00
All the players signed are from English leagues, why don't we start looking abroad, there are far better players and for less money.

07 Nov 2016 02:30:37
I'm a big fan of MW and DW but i'm slowly beginning to lose faith. He's beginning to look like a defeated man and I think that every is transferring to the team.

Getting a feeling he'll be gone by Christmas. Is it too late for him to turn it around?

07 Nov 2016 07:45:28
Judge him at the end of this season. If we don't qualify for european football then we don't get extra money and we can't attract a better quality of player and he will be sacked.

07 Nov 2016 08:30:11
Give it a rest, we need investment, can you not see that, it's just going to take time. back them, it's going to be like this most of the season but we will finish in a European spot, and for this year that will do me.

07 Nov 2016 09:16:13
There is no doubt MW is a good coach and his philosophy suits the modern game. However I wish he would have the scope to change things when they are clearly not working and being identified and punished by the weaker teams like Ross county.

In recent weeks Chelsea and spurs have both changed tactics adopting a back 3 with wing back to good success. IMO this would suit tav and Wallace in getting forward and give us cover at the back.

07 Nov 2016 10:15:55
I can understand what Warburton brings but what does Weir bring, other than that he played for us? The defence is poor, there is no leadership on the park and we get bullied by the opposition. Weir was a leader, he would not be bullied and he was a winner. If he can't install this in his charges then something is wrong!

07 Nov 2016 10:38:06
for all our position we had most of it was played between our dfenders constantly passing it back to each other its a joke!

07 Nov 2016 11:55:48
As Colin stein said, most of the supporters like M W approach to the game, but we dot have the players with the skills to play this type of game, its ok holding the ball and playing from the back when you play teams with skill and hold the ball, but in our league the secret is to move the ball quicker up the field so as to pressurise the defences, look what happened to England when they played Iceland too slow allowing them to cover up, that's what's happening to us.

07 Nov 2016 13:57:40
The MW approach? What exactly is that? Against both St Jonhstone and Ross County it's been not threatening the opposing goal in the second half hardly the modern approach.
