Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

07 Nov 2017 19:38:11
Just a thought, guys but usually when a team has a caretaker manager in place, the fans don't expect too much, and even steel themselves for a few bad results, with uncertainty growing the longer they are place and no appointment forthcoming. How many of you can honestly say they feel that way with Graeme Murty in charge? I don't - felt far more nervous with PC in charge. I know probs the majority want DM, or a bigger name, but I feel we should greatly acknowledge GM for, twice now, providing us with a sense of relative calm and assurance when called upon. Anyway, whoever gets the job, I hope they can put our great club back where we belong.

07 Nov 2017 19:54:17
I genuinely like Murty and as U quite rightly say, he’s stepped up on 2 occasions and steadied the ship. So far he’s not been under the intense pressure that being Rangers Manager invariably brings

Therefore, I’m not convinced he should get the Managers position. I don’t feel that he would attract a high calibre of player in the January transfer window and if things go wrong against Aberdeen and the Dhims, it won't be long before we are calling for his head. no I say we take this International break to get the right person in place

That person will need to have experience of managing at a decent level, know the Scottish game or at least have coaches/ assistants who know it and totally understand the expectations of the supporters as well as the magnitude of the job in hand. We need to get this appointment right and cannot afford to take a chance on a rookie

I personally don’t think he needs to be a former Rangers player and my preferences would come from the following list :-

Allerdyce
McInnes
Pardew

07 Nov 2017 20:30:28
Regardless of whether he got the job permanently or to the end of the season at the very least you would love him to be in charge for the home game to Hamilton. And give him the opportunity to gear the players up for the three win's in a row that Peds couldn't do?

07 Nov 2017 21:08:25
Good call, G Murty deserves a huge amount of credit steadying the ship. A safe pair of hands at the till🇬🇧

07 Nov 2017 22:30:00
Good post, Graeme Murty has stepped in and steadied the ship he has served the club really well and comes across as a very likeable guy! He seems to have a good relationship with everyone at and around club from board members to coaching staff, players and also us supporters. I feel our team is in safe hands with Murty and hope he stays at our club in some capacity for years to come

07 Nov 2017 22:32:58
I can't see Murty being given the job but he definitely deserves acknowledgement for what he has done, hopefully he stays with the club for a long time in whatever capacity.

07 Nov 2017 15:48:37
Good afternoon bears. I just thought I would post this in case there is any fans who don't know this. as you all know rangers have had several loans from the director's for working capital. well as it stands rangers owe them 15.9ml but the board are hoping to push through a share issue in the upcoming agm which shouldn't get blocked this time. anyway the director's will convert the 15.9ml into shares. so bassicly we must get the share issue through bcos the loans have to be payed back by December 2018.also whatever money is raised that 15.9ml will come off before any money goes back into the club for new players and whatever else they have planned for the money they raise. I know most fans already know this but I thought I would post it just in case some fans didn't.

07 Nov 2017 16:01:34
Sounds plausible Del, where did you hear that mate?

07 Nov 2017 16:56:03
Don't think they can have a share issue without a nomad and also I believe it will depend on the outcome of the takeover panel case at the court of session? Anyone confirm this or shoot it down?

07 Nov 2017 17:46:09
Bear mode 91 it was in the clubs accounts. if you go over to the clubs website all the details are there buddy. it's also in the accounts that the board will try and push through the share issue in this agm that's coming up. you should read the accounts there is a lot of interesting stuff in them bearmode91

07 Nov 2017 17:48:00
As far as not having the share issue without a nomad or the takeover panel I don't have a clue johnny. I was only passing on what I read in the accounts buddy

07 Nov 2017 18:41:55
I don't grudge them it. Without their money we might not have had a club.

08 Nov 2017 12:21:43
Well delboy it may be the start of our demise with fans like you openly stating that if mcinnes gets the job you won’t support the board or put another single penny into the club.

08 Nov 2017 12:22:24
Only need a NOMAD if the shares are publicly traded. The can sell shares privately or have a share issue subject to shareholders approval at any time.

08 Nov 2017 13:36:44
honestly guys u say mcinnes will only ever get us 2nd what a load of nonsense!

you don't know what the guy is capable of doing and with more at his disposal he could make a name for himself up here the way walter did.

i believe that we will be better than we have been in a whole decade once he gets through next summer with a couple of new signings .

but he must get moult in through the january transfer window.

07 Nov 2017 13:41:57
i say give murty the job for this season if we can't get mccinnes in the now.

i know its a dangerous move but he deserves a shot i'd think.

07 Nov 2017 17:51:07
I'm hoping the board go for del mcinnes but I would also support murty as I think the players really like and respect him but i don't think the board will give it to him. this appointment is massive and if the board get it wrong again i pity help them as i could see season ticket sales going way down imo

08 Nov 2017 13:42:57
i want del-boy in aswell because he can spot a bargain aswell as get the best out of the current squad

07 Nov 2017 13:29:37
i know there will be people not agreeing with this but you are the minority

most rangers fans know mcinnes is the best man for the job at the moment.

we need to be better than the rest before trying to catch them.

if we get a team confidident of beating the rest then we can add one or two quality players to make the difference and catch them.

but we need to go on a winning streak first to get tyhe confidence up.

07 Nov 2017 13:46:21
He’s not my choice but I do concede that the majority probably do, i’d estimate that around 50% want McInnes with the other 50% split between various candidates.

One worry I have is that IMO Jack Ross is the best young manager in Scotland and if he goes to Aberdeen I think they will flourish (no more draws at Hamilton and getting cuffed off Celtic regularly) .

Obviously with our budget we would still be looking to top whatever they do.

07 Nov 2017 14:10:26
Agreed.

08 Nov 2017 13:45:28
jack ross could go to aberdeen and become another coulda been as aberdeen are a big club with big expectations now their fans believe they should be finnishing above us i mean c'mon whoever goes there is gonny have a hard time

07 Nov 2017 11:59:32
Time for all of us to get real in our manager search, we just simply cannot afford the likes of Big Sam he is looking for £4M from Everton, Van Bronk. Why would he leave a team that is currently playing Champ. League football?
We seem to be struggling to agree with Aberdeen a comp. figure which in my opinion we should sort out ASAP for McInnes, as for Pardew and McLaren i can't see them even getting out of bed for anything less than £2M p/ a, Pardew would not like being paid significantly less than his pal Brenda!
McLaren may take less as a way back into British football but not for me, it is looking more and more like a McLeish with Murty as his assistant option, let's see but let's get real.

07 Nov 2017 12:29:25
I like Bilic, always came across as really passionate and a proper football man, I thought he was destined for one of the top jobs in English football having taken west ham to a higher level, admittedly had a bad start to the season this year but I could see him doing a right good job for rangers. Think he might be the kind of guy who would be open to taking a bit of a cut in cash to get back in the game and restore his reputation with a platform to compete in Europe Rangers would offer him that, . Ps not going to run down McInnes but just feel bilic might have more potential and worth sounding out? Thoughts?

07 Nov 2017 12:36:59
couldn't agree more mate and i also agree about McLeish with Murty. Both are very capable and would be a great combo

07 Nov 2017 13:26:16
mcleish is a dud guys get real he was only that's succesfull here because of the team he was left by advocat and has done nothing of note since even the scotland job he was left big walter's side which he had beating the top teams and he left rangers in a mess and same with scotland he can't manage or build a team of his own. proven in jobs since then

07 Nov 2017 13:36:48
Coop, I agree that some of our fans need to get real but, we are not struggling to agree compensation for Mcinnes at all mate, in fact we haven't started speaking with any manager yet, despite what we might be told by tinpot journalists in the media.

Rangers are taking their time to try to ensure they get the right man, Murty could be in charge for a decent chunk of the season. A short list is only being drawn just now.

If Rangers want Mcinnes, we will be getting him. Aberdeen are skidmark compared to us and they always will be. Do you really think Rangers won't stump up 800k compensation if that's what Aberdeen want? We had to pay 400k for Pedro.

07 Nov 2017 18:30:51
Peds11 what do you have against MacLeish? He inherited a failing team from Advocaat, Martin O’Neill came in to celtic and started dominating us i'm sure we all remember the 6-2 defeat McLeish had to sell players and manage on a shoe string budget but still managed to win 7 trophies in 4 and a half years and was the first manager to get any Scottish club to the last 16 of th CL and if you check his net spend I think you’ll find he done all that on minus £10m or somewhere close to that give the man some credit🙄

07 Nov 2017 21:19:55
Spot on highland bear. I don't know why the big man is being dismissed when people like McInnes, who spends his life capitulating against them and a corrupt individual such as Sam Allardyce are being lauded as saviour. As you say the team was failing under Advocaat before McLeish came in on a fraction of the budget and won 7 trophies in just over 4 years as well as take the club into the last 16 of the CL before them. He has walked the walk. Let's get him on now!

08 Nov 2017 12:29:48
Highland bear, it's because peds11 is obsessed with wee Del and seems to have a death wish for our club.

08 Nov 2017 13:50:42
like i said he would have to be a different kind of idiot not to win with the team he inherritted and can u remember some of his signings just google it if u can't they where terrible. and he got a winning side from advocat not a failing one mate.

he came in we where strong when he left we where 3rd in a two horse race so don't tell me he is the man to fix us when he can't even do that when we had a much much better side than now.

plus what has he done since then except get fired left right and centre he may have had a good run with us but this does not make him the man for the job.

i wasnt a fan of his back then and said he was ruining our club but it was too late by the time everyone else clocked on

07 Nov 2017 11:26:27
Bide our time? Not for me, we seem to be dragging our heels now it's taking far to long! get a manager in now please, the longer it takes the more daffties we see getting added to the list of possibles and the more chance of a way way to wrong appointment again.

07 Nov 2017 13:34:07
got to be mcinnes go get him now rangers

08 Nov 2017 12:12:41
peds11, we all know you're in love with Mcinnes, so there's no need to post it twice a day. He'll never be manager of Rangers because he has zero presence, zero charisma, zero character, zero steel, and has been a loser for all of his managerial career. He also has no knowledge of Europe, where we are expecting a third of our income to come from over the next 3-4 years, he has severely limited knowledge of the English market and is a mediocre manager in one of the poorest leagues in Europe. Always second in a two horse race and a total failure at the renowned Bristol City and this is the level of your expectations for Rangers FC? Stroll on.

08 Nov 2017 13:57:43
always second in a two horse race u are kidding aren't u even though aberdeen have been finnishing second they as a club are not in the race at all like we are not in it either this is a one club league untill we can get back to our best. ly can't cope with these people that say he isn't a good manager because he couldn't topple celtic bwhen celtic are full of international players at the top of their game and aberdeen have to deal with second rate scottish players.

what mcinnes has done for the sheep is put them in a much much better position than when he first arrived isntb that what rangers need to do aswell as if he comes in and makes us mch better off then isn't that him doing his job?

realistically we can't compete with selik just now so i wouldn't be downing a manager because he couldn't toplle them with a overachieving aberdeen squad.

who do u want mate instead of telling me i shouldn't want him weho do u want realistic option plea

07 Nov 2017 11:09:57
McCoist, Warburton, Caixhina - three terrible appointments. Surely the board won't make it four-in-a-row by appointing McInnes?

07 Nov 2017 13:40:47
warburto was a good appoitment at first and ally got us through the worst years in our history you guys need to remember that!
ped was a risk that didn't pay off

07 Nov 2017 15:39:23
I must admit I was impressed with Nottingham Forest last week against QPR. They are playing really good, expansive football and had the mom in a wee midfielder called Barrie McKay. Remember him? McKay or Windass? I'll leave that with you

08 Nov 2017 12:05:17
Poetry Doiger. The board are weak and lack vision with these appointments.

07 Nov 2017 11:05:42
I think we need to bide our time in the hunt for a new manager. We need to find a manager who can develop our young players into first team regulars and be able to improve the players we already have. The new scouting system needs to supplement this and we need to be qualifying for the Europa league on a regular basis.

I have no idea who this man is, but until we find him the Graeme Murty will deliver solid performances I have no doubt.

08 Nov 2017 12:09:44
Good post Wee Bear. Definitely don’t want the wally with the brolly anywhere near Ibrox.

07 Nov 2017 09:53:19
Sleepless night worrying that rangers could appoint Steve McLaren as next Manager. I laughed when he was at Ashley's mob and was rank rotten but no laughing matter if he is a serious candidate for ibrox. Yes I'm in the McInnes camp as my number 1 choice and yes I accept a lot of supporters don't want Derek which is fine as we all have opinions. But is there anyone who can say that McLaren is their preferred 1st choice candidate over all others?

07 Nov 2017 10:26:33
McLaren has actually won trophies. e. g. the Dutch league at Twente and managed England, albeit not brilliantly. We could do worse. McInnes is untried and not the big hitter I'd want.

07 Nov 2017 12:03:34
Just think McLaren another huge gamble Rangers can ill afford. The failure with England, Forest, Newcastle, Derby outweighs any good work he done in Holland for me and with the massive wage he’d demand that makes him a big risk we shouldn’t take in my opinion.

07 Nov 2017 12:50:21
McClaren would be a huge mistake in my view. He won things with M'boro (10 + years ago) and FC Twente (7 years ago) and everywhere else nothing but complete failure. Bit like Big Eck-his time is past. If it's between him and Murty I'd take a chance with Murty every time. If McInnes is still in the race I'd give him a chance. Would get us a solid 2nd as a start and I'd like to see what he could do with a much bigger budget.

08 Nov 2017 12:13:40
McLaren has a real CV in the game, but is not who I would choose as Rangers manager - unless it was between him and the loser McInnes, who makes McLaren look like Guardiola.

07 Nov 2017 09:01:17
Just remember when McCoist got the bin all the same names were flying about as they are the now and look who we ended up with, we have a great base of players so we need to spend the wages on a right good manager.

08 Nov 2017 12:01:59
A great base? i'd say decent mate

07 Nov 2017 08:39:09
Congratulations to Jamie Barjonas on agreeing a 2 year extension to his contract.
Glad to see him sign on for the journey.

07 Nov 2017 09:10:55
Moyes just named West Ham manager that's another one out running

07 Nov 2017 09:56:10
aye moyes tallked about getting the west ham job when bilic was still in the job, dodged a bullet there with that snake

07 Nov 2017 10:16:00
good shout bluegenius - delight the lads signed up a new deal

i think he cld make it strong box to box midfielder nice touch and also scores goals - he’s a big lad too might give us extra dig we’ve been missing in cntr mid

07 Nov 2017 15:44:17
Barjonas is pals with the son of a guy who works beside me. He says he's a good lad and a right bluenose. Wouldn't crack a light as to what was going on at Ibrox. It is all about loyalty with him. Looks a right good player with a bright future.

08 Nov 2017 12:02:58
I heard that trueblue, absolute rat 🐀

07 Nov 2017 02:16:05
I've been in touch with an old colleague who is a Hammers fan and has a hospitality box at the London Stadium. He's also a Rangers man and reckons we would be extremely foolish not to look at Bilic as he is a top manager who had a rough time at West Ham with moving to a new stadium and little backing from the board, even though the players supported him. I've checked and he seems to have a terrific CV, is intelligent and passionate and knows the game inside out.

07 Nov 2017 04:07:42
was it this summer with the forty million spent or the summer before with seventy six million that they failed to back him in?

07 Nov 2017 07:38:34
I encountered some unhappy West Ham fans on a train on Saturday evening after the Liverpool game and they were all appalled at the prospect of Moyes taking over from Bilic should he be sacked. I told them that it would be good news for Rangers fans as it would mean that Moyes wouldn't be going to Ibrox then I swiftly left the train!

08 Nov 2017 12:06:23
My god bigsam you don't half talk garbage. The board failed to back bilic, the guy spent about 100 mil.

08 Nov 2017 12:14:29
Snell, only four teams spent less than West Ham during the summer, they recouped 75% of their spend on selling players. The year before they had a net spend of £37m, less than half of the £76m you allege. Still, why let the facts get in the way of your prejudices? I was merely pointing out that as a manager he's miles above the likes of McInnes and possibly somebody we should look at.

07 Nov 2017 02:14:57
Here is a question for all fellow rangers fans out off the guys we have out on loan and also who we have loaned in who would you like to keep?

Joe dodoo
MOH
Andy Halliday
Harry forrister
Declan john
Dalcio
Aaron Nemane

I would love to see dodoo back and get a shot in the team as well as declan john to stay but the rest can go.

07 Nov 2017 04:08:12
same as you mate- john an dodoo

07 Nov 2017 06:36:56
Halliday and John

07 Nov 2017 08:21:19
I'm with Jyf. Halliday and John!

07 Nov 2017 07:40:27
None of them, maybe Dec John At a push if there isn't any better options come January transfer window.

07 Nov 2017 08:07:00
Think you have to give them all a chance and see how they go under the new Manager. Doubt many will do much but you never know

07 Nov 2017 08:42:41
Always liked forester when played through the middle, never a wide man in a million years. MOH should get another chance aswell and definitely keep dj.

07 Nov 2017 08:47:32
Halliday John

Dodoo has potential but could he get a regular game if he returns to Ibrox?

08 Nov 2017 12:07:10
Halliday? as in andy halliday?

08 Nov 2017 12:08:36
Dodoo for sure he is an impact player and natural finisher and also Declan John. The you Man City boy could also be a good acquisition

08 Nov 2017 12:15:10
Declan John. The others are proven duds, time and again.

06 Nov 2017 19:27:05
C'mon the option ticking the boxes is Slaven Bilic and Murty as No.2 🤧.
