Randomness?

Seriously? So now we are being taught lessons by the Brentford owner who enjoyed mathematics and that lesson is randomness. Oh well never mind about the last 2 results it's just random. Great f**king message to give the players. Don't feel guilty for failing don't worry about the consistently poor performances it's all just random, simple.

Nothing to do with ineptitude. Nothing to do with lack of desire. Nothing to do with lack of quality. There is only one thing that's becoming more and more random and that's our current manager.

09 Feb 2017 06:54:52
The old fashion term is "luck"

& what would you rather have

a lucky or an unlucky manager?

09 Feb 2017 07:43:53
Brilliant!

09 Feb 2017 19:15:32
Warburton has clearly lost the plot but some people on here will buy what he says for them he can do no wrong

09 Feb 2017 23:53:40
say one thing his comments are getting twisted into meaning something that he isn't meaning he was just saying we have been very unlucky and to be fair we have been very unlucky to not have scored more.

having said that he must change the system to suit the players and stop trying to change thes particular players to suit the system.

miller and garner up front together or waggy through the middle where he scores his goals something has got to change as doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the sign of stupidity.

08 Feb 2017 21:35:25
Just reading Chris Suttons latest comments comparing DK to the Venky's at Blackburn.

He sound just like many supposed supporters on here which I find embarrassing.

Lots of you criticise him for his negative comments about the club but then jump on her and repeat the same tosh about "your club"

It's all very well having an opinion, wishing that we were in a far better place but we are where we are.

Get behind the club, the team, the board and the manager or join the CS fan club instead.

08 Feb 2017 21:49:58
BR65

People are entitled to their opinions and if Rangers fans don't want MW as manager it doesn't make them any less fans. The last couple of sentences in your post are stupid. I'm not interested in what Sutton has to say and I don't base my judgement on the manager on what he thinks

08 Feb 2017 22:31:20
Stewie25, My comments are stupid? Is that because my opinion differs from yours?
I disagree with your comments. I think you are less of a fan because you are not giving your club support.
Positivity breeds positive results.
Do you really think that Keirnan with be full of confidence when he walks on to the pitch next time after the constant barracking and intimidation he gets from fans?
C, early our coaches see something in the players that make them think that there is potential - they will be judged on results at the end of the season and throughout the rest or their tenure against the 5 year plan.
If it doesn't work out, they will be dumped.
In the meantime, real fans get behind the project

09 Feb 2017 07:17:12
No, BR. Just no.

Real fans are worried at the direction our club seems to be aimlessly drifting.

I could say YOU'RE not a real fan because you're happy to stand by and watch our club underachieve, but I won't because I'm not a selfrighteous as you.

09 Feb 2017 08:49:04
Sorry LWDawson, I'm not happy to seethe club underachieve and I would prefer that we were top of the league.

Unfortunately I'm realistic to know that that was never likely due to money and talent.

It's a building process that will take 3 years minimum.

We either believe in the board who rescued the club from pending oblivion and get behind their plan or we bail as sunshine supporters who cannot understand the reality or the bigger picture

09 Feb 2017 09:04:34
Who says we should be top? We are realistic, second was always the aim. However, realistically we are in a scrap for 3rd with Hearts. Me and many others believe this is unacceptable given our budget. Imagine if Hearts or the sheep had our budget!

The manager doesn't seem to have the ability to:
find a player, improve a player, play to the strengths of his squad, change a game.

09 Feb 2017 19:20:27
BR65

No I didn't say your comments were stupid I said the last 2 sentences were stupid. Please read my post correctly. To say either back the club or join the CS fan club is stupid. As I said before I'm not interested in what he says and I don't base my judgement on his comments

09 feb 2017 23:16:45
listen to all the negative doubting thomas's we have out there, my god there's a good few, although stewie25 does take the biscuit! never came across anyone like him! anyway, my point to the doubters! the season isn't finished, we've not finished 3rd or worse for that matter, or 2nd! we're currently sitting 3rd, but imo we'll finish 2nd! judge where we finish when the season ends! is that too hard for some of you to grasp? the season ends in may, not february!

08 Feb 2017 21:25:27
My first reaction after Hearts thumping was a change is needed and in a way I still think this as we are similar to Celtic under delia but then reality kicked in we don't have money to go get a Rodgers pay him top salary and give him millions for top players. Some scarey posts on hear from dilusional fans who think we have millions and can attract a top manager. Right now we don't . This being this case like it or not we are stuck with it and should back the manager. Wasn't that long ago Ibrox was rocking to the magic hat. We will get better again and once we sort the shite in the background with SD we will build up to compete again. The reality is worrying that they will get 10 in a row so it might be the choice of stabilising the club for future or risking administration again chasing Celtic to stop them. Harsh reality but unless a multimillionaire pops up then this is where we are at. Think it's about time the board settle things and state what the plans are financially for next season and why the Jan transfer window saw no players arriving to significantly improve this side.

08 Feb 2017 21:52:53
Davie big toe

Under Warburton we will never catch Celtic. All our seasons will consist of is trying to beat Aberdeen and Hearts to 2nd place, maybe the odd cup win and early exits from Europe. This won't wash with the board and Warburton will either be sacked this summer or next

08 Feb 2017 22:00:36
And you think that a multi millionaire would invest in Rangers under the custodianship of Dave King, now that is delusional!

The three Bears and the Far East Guys would be acceptable partners for many but I am not so sure about DK.

Any new investors, were they to be found would almost definitely want there own management team in place, perhaps even with a Director of Football and i really don't see them wanting Weir even if Warburton was an option.

08 Feb 2017 22:15:16
Wont wash with the board? Are the board as daft as the fans? One reason there is no money being invested is because the board know that even £10mill invested in new players will not put Rangers in front, so no CL money. Rangers lost £3.3 mill last year. They also owe £5mill in loans. So let's say in summer they spend £10 mill and buy 5 x £2mill players. Now they are into bigger wages. Probably paying those guys £20k a week so that's another £5mill. Now assume they qualify for Europa and they earn £5mill from that. Where are they financially. Probably worse off than they are now. Unless they can get CL money they can't substantially move forward.

08 Feb 2017 22:38:00
tBig toe. you already have a guy from South Africa who`s a multimillionaire for a chairman?

Its time for your support to put pressure on D King to put up, or ship out.

My opinion is you have landed yourselves another spiv for a chairman.

08 Feb 2017 19:56:36
Heard a rumour tonight on the radio about Rangers getting major investment at the end of this month but has anybody eles heard anything similar or os it just more drivel?

08 Feb 2017 20:18:27
Ashleys name was mentioned surely not!

08 Feb 2017 20:26:40
Sleekit PR guff i suspect, to keep the tigers at bay, and give the fans some false hope. Unless there is firm evidence, then take it as rubbish.

08 Feb 2017 21:04:43
Rangers board striking a deal with Ashley?

08 Feb 2017 21:32:44
What you hear

08 Feb 2017 21:37:22
Apparently a business man from Scotland called Stephen bargon (very wealthy man) is looking into ploughing millions but I doubt it you know what rumours are like

08 Feb 2017 21:42:53
My view is that there is a decent investment coming.

Whether it's in the next month or so I'm not sure as it may depend on the MA case but I am certain the our board are attempting to fix things as quickly as possible.

I'm also quite sure that even if it means that DK, PM and a few others have to move on, they would do that without profit providing they could be convinced that any new owner/ investor truly had the interests of the club at their core.

Time will tell whether you Chris's Sutton soundalikes are right or wrong but a touch of positivity on here would be refreshing

08 Feb 2017 22:16:51
How about a touch or reality instead.

08 Feb 2017 23:45:32
Right Bears here's my thoughts on what's poss going to happen at end of season, guessing wages here Bears!
Sendaros out 12k.
Toral back to Arsenal 10k
Hyndman back to Bournmouth 10k
Waghorn sold minimum 500k+8k
This is money that we will have to recycle plus a transfer budget of a minimum 4m. Also think there may be others that will leave but not 100% sure who but I do think Hill and Miller should be given another yr as they can do a job and I do not think both will be on crazy wages.
Will Warbs be here start of nxt season I'm not sure? even if we get 2nd? I just cannot see anybody out there who can come in and change things. Warbs MUST adapt his formation as this will be his ultimate downfall. We have decent players and a squad who should be 2nd with points to spare.
With the squad we have and a 4-5m transfer budget if we were to bring in 3-4 players a CH a AML a CM and a striker. this as well as prob trimming squad and promoting a couple of youth. Warbs or whoever will still invest in a couple of loans poss keep Hyndman if we have secured Europe.
If only Warbs would go with a 4-4-2 then think about switching once we had a game under control this is something that really angers me that our manager does not change his system during a game or takes a defensive player of to be replaced by an attacking player this is the reason the main reason why we are so frustrated

08 Feb 2017 17:31:12
Stop with warbs out talk. We don't have to get rid of him. yet. we do need to see out his contract and make sure we are in a place to at least push them next season. Keep the heads up boys. No major investors coming so stop those delusions now. Maybe once we are back and concrete doing well. But for now we are doing as good as we are able to. some poor signings, lots of bad tactical and strategic mistakes but treading water will not do. More can and will be done, just keep believing.

08 Feb 2017 18:13:11
That post is as ridiculous as Warburton's randomness going against Rangers talk. He isn't taking us forward, he isn't the answer and he will never win this league

08 Feb 2017 18:24:04
Wall84 i think i could manage these boys better than warbs. look at our sqaud. crap def good mid players good strikers so on that i'd change to 4132.
Fod
Hodson wilson hill wallace
Rossiter
Hyndman toral mackay
Garner miller. I would tell mackay he has a free role across the midfield when we have the ball but when not he back in position

08 Feb 2017 18:51:17
Why is it ridiculous to have some faith in our current manager?

Regardless of whether or not you think he's the right man for the job, the guy deserves a lot more backing than he seems to be getting at the moment.

Nobody is showing blind faith in MW. What we are showing is a certain resilience when times are tough.

It's not as easy as saying the club's been through more difficult times than this the last few years, but regardless of what anyone says, faith in ME Should always be 100%

08 Feb 2017 20:21:31
Totaly agree 100% davie 1980

08 Feb 2017 20:39:40
Thorn76

Why show faith in a manager that you don't think can do the job?

08 Feb 2017 20:51:41
Well done Dave 1980 managed to get rossiter back playing, if only it was that easy.

08 Feb 2017 22:07:31
There is more chance of us having a midfield of Greig, Baxter, Souness and MacDonald than there is of Rossiter being fit to play in the next few weeks. He has been two weeks away since August 20161

08 Feb 2017 22:34:10
TOMUSA

Your right and it's worrying that he is no nearer a return to the team nearly 6 months on. It must be something serious if it's kept him out this long with no return date on the horizon

08 Feb 2017 17:25:19
Why are we always so negative. We were in championship fir two years, now back we will be looking for good cup run and top 3 as a good start to our first year back, forget where we used to be. look at our current circumstances. Be realistic and enjoy the ride my friends.

08 Feb 2017 19:01:32
I remember when we failed to get promotion first time around we we were told the silver lining that

"we were putting in solid team foundations to reinforce our position in the SPL".

Looking back we seemed to have built on the "sand" of loan deals with our best players 37 years of age.

In any walk of life you have to learn from your mistakes and changes things - why does our manager keep trying PLAN A when it continues to fail at Rangers never mind Brentford before that?

08 Feb 2017 19:37:29
With fans like ours who needs opposition fans

08 Feb 2017 22:13:07
@ranger - how did it fail at Brentford? He got them into the playoffs having been told a couple of month's before the season ended that he would be replaced even if they got promoted.
I'm assuming if you get your wish and he is replaced the new manager will only get 20+ games to prove his worth as well? With the high expectations of some on here we are going to need a revolving door fitted to the managers office!

09 Feb 2017 07:02:18
Eg - Beaten 5-1 in play-off final having "dominated" both legs

Lots of corners and chances in both games few shots on target - 1 goal very similar to Rangers today

Brentford "failed" i. e. Didn't win anything

09 Feb 2017 11:37:05
@ranger - so going by your thought process every manager who comes after him and doesn't win anything will be considered a failure even though Celtic are so dominant?
So again how many games does the next manager get to turn it around?

08 Feb 2017 17:07:15
Celtic I am afraid are about a decade away from our current standing. our only chance, back our manager and get behind our beautiful team, who are looking rather empty at the moment. I love rangers, not the biggest fan of warbs et al but think we need to invest in youth, prioritise our signings and keep the faith fellow bears.

08 Feb 2017 17:48:31
Let's be honest Celtic are quite a distance ahead of us but folk putting time scales on where we want to be, "Dominating Scottish football", is quite unnecessary.

"Dominating" and finishing first within the next five years, big difference.

Dominating suggests winning league titles comfortably and being favorites before a ball is even kicked.

That's not going to be Rangers for quite a while. Have a strong feeling we can halt their "10 in a row" goal, if we keep calm, by refusing to react to the odd couple of bad results, lack of form or needlessly criticizing the manager for statements made in interviews.

Essentially, patience is a luxury our club does have ATM, thanks to the financial constraints out with our control.

08 Feb 2017 18:29:04
Thorn76

The odd bad result. We have only won 12 out of 24 league matches and lost every away match against the bigger teams. Add to that a lack of goals scored and too many conceded it easy to see why the manager is being questioned. It seems quite a few fans just hope he will turn it round when in reality it won't and no amount of time will change that

08 Feb 2017 22:12:34
Agree Thorn76, putting a timescale on things is dangerous; in reality we should be capable of beating every team in Scotland with perhaps the exception of Celtic in every game we play and with the right coaching, motivation and understanding of what it means to play for Rangers, this current bunch with a couple of strategic acquisitions are certainly capable of doing that! I remain of the opinion that if you put a Gough or a Brown in that dressing room instead of Weir, you would immediately see a response and perhaps Warburton needs to realise that only Rangers matters and it is win at all costs. A bit more steel and a bit more belief and we will have a better set of results.

08 Feb 2017 18:10:07
Your correct wall84,we can't go back to spending massive amounts of money we don't have, and we won't anyway. Any investment we do get has to be invested in our youth system! We won't see the results of focusing heavily on our youth academy, for 4/ 5 years! This is most definitely the way to go, but we also need to have some money to spend on 2 or 3 quality players each season or to replace when one of our top players leaves! Reckless spending is not the way forward for us anymore! There's an old saying and i totally believe it regarding where we are as a football club just now! "SHORT TERM PAIN, LONG TERM GAIN"!

08 Feb 2017 21:26:06
When we seem to play badly it always seem to be the whole team that plays badly not just the odd player whose form has dipped that to me says that's the managers fault for playing a system that clearly doesn't work, so in my personal opinion he needs to be replaced with someone who knows how to get the best out of the players that we have

09 Feb 2017 03:01:18
Thought we told all the other teams fans 'it's all about the Rangers'? Sounds like it's all about Celtic now. I, personally couldn't care less about what they have achieved latterly. I'm happy our club survived the witch hunt and I can take my boy to Ibrox.

08 Feb 2017 11:35:05
What's the chances of rangers v celtic 2 weeks in a row. League game is 12 March. 6th round Scottish cup 4th 5th March. Would everyone want that or would you want to avoid the cup match?

08 Feb 2017 12:24:21
Morton and calendar might fek that up tbh!

08 Feb 2017 12:59:09
No chance bill. Both shall win by 2 or more goals.

08 Feb 2017 15:21:54
I would rather we played Inverness but then we still have to get past Morton!

08 Feb 2017 17:53:07
Jelavic having a laugh surely. Would take him in a heartbeat but budget is more than stretched.

08 Feb 2017 11:04:10
Dont think we will get Jelavic although he would be class - a proper striker who can score goals for fun.

Warburton brought in 3 players in January - a gk to replace gilks
And 2 midfielders 1 to replace barton and 1 to temporarily replace niko!

Warburton has his team he will live and die with this team because they simply are not good enough!

08 Feb 2017 15:01:53
Warburton is quoted as saying that we are not a Bad team, just unlucky. While he might have been unlucky with the loss of Krancjar and Rossiter, albeit that in Rossiter's case he had a history of injuries, none of this can be considered as an excuse for the abysmal results that we have suffered this season and for his total failure to bring in at least one quality centre half and have a backup holding midfield player. The Barton farce is not an excuse, he handled it badly and has been seen to side with Halliday when he should have banged both their heads together and told them to funnel their aggression on to the football park!
We have the players and with the correct motivation they have the ability, he just doesn't appear to be capable of motivating them to go out and win and win well. If that means destroying the opposition so be it, after all, football is a man's game!

As for David Weir, we would be as well with a cardboard cut out he is so useless. A Rangers man that can't instil fighting spirit and playing for the jersey is no use to us and what is he doing with the defence, does he not coach the players how to defend!

I expect a big victory at the weekend, nothing less!

08 Feb 2017 17:18:02
Not so sure that big victory will come, however I am sure a win will.

Not so sure about having players with ability either its been so long since I have seen a Rangers player have a great display apart from the first half of the Celtic game from McKay. Other than that there has been nothing from any of them.

08 Feb 2017 00:50:12
We can't spend millions on new management or players. It's going to be a long process! Anyone thinking that we were going to winning the league this year needs their head checked! 2nd place at ah push would be an achievement with this squad.

WB has worked within his resources and aye he's got some. most of the signings wrong! But he's also been unlucky with a lot of injuries to people who would have been key this year. There will be investment in the summer there has to be. Won't be 15-20 million but mibi 10 at ah push! Get behind the team and the gaffer even if it's just till the end of the year!

08 Feb 2017 06:32:11
It's not just his signings that have been poor. Team selection. The fact he doesn't change formation to suit the players we have. We don't have a recognised DM until rossiter is fit so why play with one go with a standard 4-4-2. For me warbs has been found out. When we won the championship we didn't win another game after it was confirmed. We struggled with so many teams knowing how we play and they could nullify it. Any manager worth their salt would change it. Conte did it at Chelsea and look at them now.

08 Feb 2017 08:05:18
Really, are we comparing us and chelsea? Chelsea have a worried class team that should be capable of playing in any formation, we have players from league 1 and 2 who can really only suit a few formations.

08 Feb 2017 10:38:04
Aye and the formation we do play isn't the 1 or 2 that suits them

08 Feb 2017 11:15:33
Onlyshow, don't be facetious. He was not comparing our team to that of Chelsea. But comparing the fact that Conte is able and willing to change his formation/ tactics to suit his best players while MW point blank refuses.

08 Feb 2017 11:15:33
Onlyshow, don't be facetious. He was not comparing our team to that of Chelsea. But comparing the fact that Conte is able and willing to change his formation/ tactics to suit his best players while MW point blank refuses.

08 Feb 2017 12:06:00
Conte changed the formation to suit himself not the chelsea team.

08 Feb 2017 12:22:12
Conte started the season using a formation to suite John Terry, Terry got injured they brought back luiz and he reverted to his tried and trusted formation he used at juventus and Italian national team after losing back to back games vs Liverpool N arsenal

08 Feb 2017 15:04:10
Conte motivates the players, he kicks every ball, Warburton and Weir and like a couple of morticians on the sideline! Every day that passes they become more like McCoist and McDowall!

08 Feb 2017 18:16:48
TOMUSA

Your right Warburton has that same vacant look on this face during a game as McDowall did. Equally as clueless too

08 Feb 2017 16:49:36
I completely understand where you're coming from mate but the bottom line for me is that we have a manager in charge who is playing a system that players we have are not good enough to play and a the manager for whatever reason can't or won't change to suit the players he has, I mean we don't just seem to get the odd player who is had a dip in form we seem to get the whole team at once playing crap which to me says this is the managers fault not just the players, look we all love Rangers I'm 42 and have been going to ibrox since 1985 along with loads of other bears and none of us I'm sure want to see the manager getting the sack or resigning but warburton is way out his depth now in my opinion and for that reason he has to go.

08 Feb 2017 18:16:49
Now as most on here knows, i'm a fan of our manager mark warburton and will personally myself, only judge him properly when the season ends! However i have a good knowledge of football as i eat, breathe and sleep, football, and glasgow rangers foremost! I do think to keep his job, warbs will need to stop being stubborn, to his brainchild 4-3-3 system, in order to mix it up to win certain games! I'm not advocating for him to ditch his system altogether, but its horses for courses, and he needs to be more flexible in certain games, as we're becoming very predictable and easy to play against! He has to see the picture early in games, as if its not working then tweak the system to change it which then has the opposition thinking with the element of surprise! We're becoming far too easy to play against! He can't continue by just making substitutions on the hour mark, as like for like! He'll need to change the formation from time to time in order to turn 1 point into 3!Good managers can do this, and if warburton doesn't grasp this, and learn to be more flexible, then he will lose his job!
