I'm lost way the whole Weiss thing he's average, does sitting in the gers end with a gers top on make u a legend nowadays?

He was no legend, but he was a hit with the fans like nacho was. and i still remember that quick free kick against c*ltic to jela for him to score rebounding it in from the post. he was a good playmaker.

Has pace, trickery n obvious ability. inconsistant maybe but do you want him to be the finished article at 21 years of age? have him in a heartbeat.

Weiss was probably Rangers most productive midfielder last season and not only that, he ended the season with most assissts than any other player in the SPL.

It has nothing to do with him sitting in the stand with a Rangers scarf! You lot honestly can't tell me you would rather have Greg Wylde before Weiss??

Can you remember Weiss' performance against Man Utd at Ibrox last season? You won't see Greg Wylde producing a performance like that for a while yet.......

i hope this is the real fleck we are seeing now, ive given him some stick on here about mainly his attitude but he`s impressed me the last couple of games, with naisy out he looks the natrul replacement atm, i hope he can build on this and realise the potential he has- i think o`connor would be a decent signing, not keen on sandaza looked fairly guff at dundee utd and at bristol to! keep up the good work flecks

Total between them 20 goals

Gary O'connor has scored 9 goals in SPL

i can't believe everyone is moaning about allys signing targets. if you think we will get any players who are currently playing in england then your deluded. we can only afford players currently playing in small leagues who also have very little money. thats the way it is now. accept it! sandanza and o'conner are two ove the better fowards in the slp and thats really the best we can manage just now. trust me on this, if jelevic leaves and ally doesnt replace him your complains will be alot worse than just now. we have to get behind the club now no matter how bad things are.

Well said, i remember people moaning their arses off about aluko saying he wasnt "rangers class" as well and look how he has turned out. if any of allys targets do join i hope the boo boys will promtly sod off at least till they have had a half season to prove their worth.

Aluko is a good player but he has to release the ball quicker tries to beat to many players. still like him though.

Yes it was only Arbroath, but a good display today none the less.

Plus points...


1. Our team looks totally different with a player like wee Flecky in the middle. Everything went through him, he worked very hard & could develop into a really top class player. Still think he's better further forward though. He busted a gut to get on the end of Jela's cross at start of 2nd half. When was last time we had this kind of drive and determination from midfield? Could become a brilliant goalscoring attacking midfielder.

2. Aluko. We have lacked width this season, Wylde, imo, is no good. He doesn't have the skill to beat players, his touch is awful, he can't dribble, crossing is rubbish & he hides. Aluko is the complete opposite. Always looks for the ball, is two footed, can run at pace with and without the ball and is end product is good but most importantly consistent. Great find from Ally.

3. Bocanegra is captain material. I reckoned he would get it today and he showed why he should be permanently. A real leader.

4. Healy & Jelavic. Jela looked hungrier today and worked a bit harder. Good goal he scored also. Healy's link up is good, though he should have scored 3 or 4 if we're honest.

5. Edu has been widely criticised by many, me included. But he done well today. Although I think with Fleck beside him, it allowed him to just do the simpler things as Fleck took over the creative side a bit more.

Negatives...

Only one, and that was our laziness in front of goal. On another day could have been 7 or 8. Healy missed chances that, imo, Boydy would score every time. Bringing Boyd back would be a no brainer for me.

I agree with playing fleck closer to the strikers. the midfeild was far to deep up untill rangers scored but im glad he has got his chance.

Just to let you in on a wee secret, Whyte aint spending, absolutely no chance! Why would he part with any cash when it's clearly his intention to lead the club into administration?

You have to be realistic and I'm not rippin you this time. If offers come in late January, and that's the most likely scenario, he'll probably sell and the player, more than likely Jelavic. If rumours are true that there's a sell on clause in his contract then that's a double dunter for the club because not only will they receive a sub standard offer, the bottom line won't amount to as much as you all think! Maybe, in hindsight, they should have accepted the £9m offer from another planet! lol

I would like to say a very well done to rangers today who for the 1st time this season made it by the first hurdle of a cup. Too bad they fell on another 3 cups lost a 15 point lead to Celtic & now face a after math of Murray mess & the fire sale.

Ps hear o Conner is signing for rangers even tho he's In court in feb for drug offences. Might see him & whyte in the court ?

J1985 well we came off the back of 3iar going to 4 never got it, signed a dud manager with a golden hand shake.build a new team just lost out last year for a new team to gel done no bad to get the Scottish cup this year same team with time to gel claw back a massive lead then go top of the league. Rangers are on there knee who need to sell players to make money where as we don't.

PMSL. Rangers have been on there knees for the last 3 seasons n yous aint got a title to show for it. Tell me, how do you cope with the fact that your team is second best to a team that struggles to sign players cz it aint got any money but is still fightn for 4iar? You should be spending more time questioning whats going at your own club instead of being on the champs page all the time.

On our knees?? apparently we've been on our knees for the past 3 years.....yet still we continue to win titles.
as for waiting for a team to gel. away you go. your team were fine last season just lost out to a better one in rangers. team needed time to gel!! we've signed a few players over the last 3 seasons n the players that came in had no problems fitting in. another excuse for seliks failings.

Can somebody tell me what calibre of player is rangers class and what is the market value of a "rangers class" player.

We are only playing in a low standard league so o'conner or Boyd would be good signings as they are proven at this level.

What about Naismith? And bocenegra? I highly doubt mccoist will let jelavic, mcgregor, and bocenegra go. Possibly one but not all of them. Likely hood is if jelavic is sold they will bring in a good standard of striker at the start of next season using only some of the jelavic money. Bartley is also on loan untill the end of this season and I don't see arsenal wanting to loan him again, he will either sit on their reserve team or be sold and I doubt ranger would be willing to meet arsenals demands for a defender when rangers really need more strikers

If someone said aberdeen would be this bad at the start of the 90s everyone would have laughed at u, we are going go backwards fast

did flecky, healy and kerkar play well today, never seen the game

Fleck was very tidy in possession although edu controlled the midfield. Graphs movement is good, missed a fee good chances but took his goal well and linked well with jelavic. Kerkar looked quite good and scored a good goal.

Fleck had a solid game covered every blade of grass, healy missed a couple of chances a good striker should bury

What I like about Fleck is not just his eye for a pass but he gets back and helps the defence out alot

I hate to keep bringing it up but it does prove my point and that is that the second half of the 1st old firm game of the season was the best football we have played for quite a few years maybe with the exception of Valencia when we should have won! Also, I believe that the 1st half of the infamous Scottish Cup game last season was devastating football and brilliant to watch if only we had kept it going.
The real problem is that Ally needs to have faith in the fact that attack is the best form of defence. He was too cautious in our European games which meant that we left it until playing away from home chasing the game to start attacking the teams. He is reverting to Walters style because he knows he can grind out results but I know he is desperate to play his own style but has been unlucky with getting his main targets to push his plans into action. I believe that he has also been forced to play some of our so called dud players so that he can put them in the shop window and move them on otherwise there may be no hope of doing so.
So I guess patience is needed all around, it was a good solid performance today from the boys and I'm sure we can turn things around in the league as two points with half the season to go is not a terrible situation and it looks like they are definitely going to drop points again as they are quite poor considering they are apparently the in-form team!
So a little faith fellow bears that any signings that we make this transfer window will be for the greater good and not for any other reason.

Plus their game was on in the background and they were not overly impressive...Plus if Scottish people don't support the game up here then how do you expect anybody else to take an interest? Your attitude is the main reason why the EPL is one of the most lucrative leagues in the world, mainly that you would rather watch those overpaid players play than your local team even if they are big rivals of the team you support. Plus you hardly pumped the team at the bottom of the 3rd division so what you do have to be proud of is beyond me...

We need a total clear out! McCoist not got a clue! Ortiz, McKay and bedoya not involved! With the precarious financial situation, it seems like a waste of money to me! Clear out coisty and crew!
A lot of ppl need a reality check, we played well today BUT against poor opposition.
We had to play a strong team cos we'd prob lose if we didn't, no big names are gonna sign for us unless they are OAPs we need to deal with the fact that we are now a minnow in world football! Time to lower the bar and start again!

So, you want rid of McCoist as manager, ok, who do think will come in and improve Rangers, remembering that they will have the 'carrot' of no money to spend, or build their own team? Please tell us anyone who would come in on these terms, thanks.

Why does Ally not give the likes of Mckay and Bedoya a start? How does someone get to prove themselves as a player if they get 10 minutes at the end of a match or even get to the bench! When the team hit a dip in form why not drop the underperfomers to give them a reality check and give the Australia _captain_ a chance and a USA internationalist? The logic makes no sense, Ally needs to stop thinking that he's one of the boys and start thinging more like a manager. There is depth there he just for what unknown reason does not use it.

Just having a bit of a footy manager style post here. Understand we're skint and the squad is dross. I've estimated fees etc but i figure it's more than possible to assemble a squad of good players who would come to us for reasonable transfer fees. We could easily do this by selling a lot of the guff we have now. Here's the outs and ins I'd have.

Out: Ins:
Mckay - 400k T.Hately - 500k
Broadfoot - 400k Dorrans - £4m
Edu - 1.5m Novo - swap
Ortiz - Novo swap? O'Connor - 400k
Lafferty 1.5m Murphy - £1m

Total fees: £14.9m Total fees - £7.9m

This would mean that we'd have £7m left to go straight into the club coffers which would fill the gap left by our euro exit. Would leave us with the cracking squad below.
