How come Ally says the players are great etc. and Green says it's the worst team there's been at Ibrox?Something doesn't add up-----do they not talk to each other?Know Ally can't say his players are rotten (not that they are)but Green didn't inspire confidence with his chatter.

Believable23 Unbelievable6

Ally agreed with him. It was a stupid thing for Green to say, but Ally agreeing will not help dressing room moral. A total mess.

Agree25 Disagree2

Without a doubt this is the worst, I watched guys like Gregor stevens at ibrox, when Griegy was boss and about 5 thou turned up, we were real bad, but much better than now, I think we, ve lost touch with how bad our team really is now, but its a means to an end, We need a new broom,, and a new team, Tommyblue

Agree10 Disagree2

@2 we also need a new manager

Agree7 Disagree0

Trick will be how we can get a new team without it bankrupting the club - already losing £1,000,000 per month. Are we going to replace the youngsters with several old pros looking for a good last contract (Jon Daly). Can we afford to do this?

Fans will continue to be patient only if we see visable progress on the park.
We seem to be heading up a Cul-de-sac

Agree4 Disagree0

Agree with last post. I watched the Rangers when they were managed by a legend, John Greig. The players then were crap. The crowds terrible but I turned up. This team is managed by a Eangers legend but he is not a manager either. Great players don't necessarily make good managers I. e Bobby Charlton, Bobby Moore etc.
Green is right, the team and the football is terrible and it's up to him to sort it. Ally and his staff are not up to the mark. His signings in the main are woeful. Wallace is the exception. We need to build a team that can play flowing intelligent football and by the time we're in a top league? The system is in place and the winning mentality established. If Ally said he'd had enough at the end of the season, I for one would respect him, but if he stays I won't be back as the football over the past two seasons has been painful to watch.

Agree5 Disagree0

I'd call it a media blunder-----where is J. T?Thought he was supposed to be media savy. How do you think the team feel now?Different knowing you're not great but for them to say it on t. v. in front of everyone, poor show all round

Agree7 Disagree1

Ally might regret saying this when he needs a 100% from some of these players in the future even if what he says is true.

Agree3 Disagree0

Stevens, Billy Urquart, Andy Kennedy. Some players have turned it round though. John McLelland, John Mcdonald, Mark Hateley and most famously Ally McCoist! Remember Ally suffered the worst abuse I have ever heard from supporters to one of their own at any club

Agree3 Disagree1

No matter whether it's true or not. CG should not be undermining AmcC and the efforts of the players by saying that. Another foot in mouth, I listened to the whole interview on a web site twice and thought some of the things he said where despicable.

I would like to say he's blackening your good name. but. he's not helping!

Shuggy

Agree3 Disagree0

Is it a blunder or is he trying to force ally out without paying him off

So Ally agrees with Green about us having the worst Rangers team ever. Well Ally WHO SIGNED THESE PLAYERS? Time for you to go. BK

Believable41 Unbelievable7

Was it new order. PLEASE don't GO.

Agree2 Disagree0

Ally says that - the boys done exactly what was asked - -Well Mr Mccoist you should be ashamed if you think this type of football is acceptable for Rangers. You bought this lot, and have had plenty time, - don't hid behind the 'no pre season' any more --

I can see more disputes and bickering in the days ahead. The league reconstruction will be the issue. There is clearly a precedent set when Stranrear were promoted because they won their league. I don't see Rangers lying down to this. Whilst I think it is ridiculous that rules are changed mid season it will still take us the same time to reach SPL or whatever it's new name will be. I can hear the accusations now that we want to be fast tracked if we use the Stranrear case.

I think Greens constant talk of leaving Scotland as stupid and crass, it was partly this attitude of thinking we are superior and merit special consideration that caused us the problems last year. I think if it was Motherwell in our position that there would not have been the clamour by fans of other clubs to make them suffer in the way we have. Let Green speak to Belgians and Russians but why publicise this. I don't believe it will ever happen but if Green wants to waste his time ok but shut up. It still makes us look arrogant. We should remember that last year we had nowhere to play, there were no offers to play elsewhere, we had to accept illegal punishments (embargo) to get a licence. Here we are less than a year later and we are threatening again. A wee bit of humility might not go amiss, and less vocals certainly would help.

Believable21 Unbelievable14

Stranraer only went up because of the numbers involved - the reconstruction then was different to that being proposed now. Rangers will be promoted as they'll be in a league closer to the top.

Agree10 Disagree5

When did stranraer win the league? if your going to look for excuses to be fast tracked at least get the facts of your on point correct

Agree5 Disagree5

You have to have a UEFA licence to play in the top league in any country. Rangers cannot get a UEFA licence for 3 years as 3 years audited accounts are needed

Agree12 Disagree2

2) firstly if you read the post you will see that I am not asking to be fast tracked anywhere. At least learn to read before you reply to something that has not been posted.
Secondly the Stranraer boss was in the papers saying they were promoted at lat reconstruction.

Agree3 Disagree4

@ 4 I can read perfectly well I can also read between the lines and see what your getting at you say your not but then theirs a (but) I know fine well how stranraer was promoted I follow them because my nephew plays for them they didn't win the league they got into the play offs they missed out on the final play off then rangers got into the 3rd division they got promoted to the second as play off finalist just the the same as all the other league runners up stepped up a league to make room for rangers so before you start saying they set the precedence the whole thing was done to suit your club to get you back in the league not reconstruction so the precedence was clearly set by yous

Agree3 Disagree2

@1 we will still be in the lowest league in Scotland and struggle to attract players on that basis

All this talk of rangers wanting to get in to the English league is worrying me. For a start you should be made to start in the blue square and I know that di*k green would kick off about that! Secondly your not big enough to get to where you'd want to be (the premiership) you might get up to league 1 at best and its not fair to have fans of small teams having to travel all the way up to Scotland to watch their team play away. Wales can get away with it as geographically they are a lot easier and closer to get to for most clubs. All that said I'm sure most rangers fans would be against it as most of you lot despise the English anyway! Can you get some sort of petition going to tell green you don't want to join the English divisions and do us all a favour! Cheers

Believable16 Unbelievable19

Agree with everything apart from your not big enough. I've stayed in north west england for many years originally from glasgow. everytown has a rangers and celtic pubs and supporter clubs the money they would make is unthinkable. watched wigan with a small support get to premier league what would rangers do. but I think they belong scottish football u know f. k all

Agree16 Disagree6

£700,000 in shares sold, someone in a panic. two 400,000 lots.

Green scaring the investors.

Agree12 Disagree6

Think if you check distances from many areas in England to say Swansea and Cardiff you will get a surprise in comparison to Glasgow to many areas in England. Yes if you take the extremes, but try it.

Agree3 Disagree2

Wouldn t be totally sure it was a sell mate. It was from the 6th March. Looking at lse. co. uk. Not all buy/sells are totally correct.

Agree2 Disagree4

To op -As I said in a previous post - there is a pyramid system in England - starts at Minor Counties level - forget the Blue Square -that is Pyramid level 5 - below this is the Ryman Leagues - this subject has been discussed for far too long and is a non-starter. It just won't happen.
BigD

Agree5 Disagree2

OP, what a total heap of crap u write, bigmouth, Firstly Rangers are far, far bigger than the vast majority of Englis prem clubs, 2ndly, Many, many teams in England are closer to Glasgow than some of the teams they plat against, 3rdly try and keep off the drink when your writing gibberish, what do u think Prem managers say about Rangers/Celtic? smallfry eh?

Agree4 Disagree7

@6) The way you answered the point clearly illuninates the reason why Rangers and their support would not be welcomed in the English leagues.

Confrontational, self righteous, agressive and downright nasty

Their nightmare is packs of guys (or girls) like you let loose on their cities.

Please divert your energies to rebuilding the tarnished reputation of the club that means so much too you - and if you can't think of a positive - shut up

Agree7 Disagree2

@2 for someone to sell somebody else has too buy so you are talking rubbish. Away back to your real job and leave the financial / accountancy advice for the experts.

What we need to do is TEACH the young ones how to play football like the rest of Europe. We don't need them to "battle and fight" at 12-16, that will come. We ned to teach them skill!

If the ever present don't know how to do this (or can't be bothered) then get someone in who can.

Vic the Hun.

Why do we want to attract average players from other teams - surely we can produce our own average players?

Believable25 Unbelievable8

My son is 12 and plays for a reasonably good team, but come match day the bigger guys seem to be preferred to the smaller more skilful guys. Winning is still all important and that's what it was like when I was that age. It seems we have not moved forward. To be fair in the last three years it has been seven a side where everybody got good touches of the ball, that seems to have changed at under 13. They practice skills in training but at match it is clear your lines and win at all costs. My sons team played against the top team in the country in a cup tie. All of them were nearly six feet, but they were very good. I was speaking to their coach and he admitted that if Messi was Scottish he would have struggled in Scotland. That sums it up!

Agree11 Disagree1

To many useless players from aboard have been getting paid way to much money over last 20 years, its going take years to fix this mess.

Charles green quoted in the press saying this is the worst Rangers team we've seen and the Board's not happy with displays. I must admit I expected a couple of 8 nils at Ibrox over the season, a team with flair and in cruise control seeing games out.
The Express linking Rangers' interest to injured Heart's captain Marius Zaliukas. Thought we'd learnt to steer away from injured players by now. For McCoist to step up to the plate he has to show a ruthless streak and offload players at the end of the season, loyal or not, in order to make way for new signings.

We need a midfield with slick passing and I saw both Berwick Rangers and East Stirling games on ESPN and their passing ability was superior to ours. The players I'd like to see go are Sheils, McCulloch, Cribari, Faure, Argyriou, Black and Kyle. Maybe keep McCulloch as a central defender but if we're going to accept him as our main striking option at his age it just goes to show how far we've all dropped in our expectations of our team as fans, blinded by this " loyalty " of player tag and the Board sees things as they should be. We have a limited salary budget, we need some fresh faces in ( the right ones this time ) and want to see our youngsters keep progressing. Time to adopt the Ferguson ruthless approach.

Believable23 Unbelievable10

Black might not be quality, but he is the only player consistently looking to give and take a pass. Most of the others are hiding. You don't see that on TV, but you do at Ibrox.

The back four are clueless and have not improved from day one. Who is coaching them?

We also need some of the older players around to make sure we don't get bullied out of a game.

Agree13 Disagree4

@1. that's the problem with Black, plenty ball and safe nothing passes from him. that's why he looked good at hearts, seen plenty but never really did much. remember not one club had shown an interest in him.

Agree11 Disagree2

I don't think it was unreasonable to expect at least a couple of double scores- 10/11 goals against some of the worst teams in the uk. clearly that is not going to happen

Agree6 Disagree2

I agree McCoist shows too much loyalty. McCulloch walks straight back in the team after injury. He played Naismith wide on the right against East Stirling when McKay is screaming to get a gmae. let's play players in the right position rather than accomodate his mates that must get a game then play others out of position. I also agree that the defence is absolute useless with te exception of Wallace.

Agree8 Disagree1

Limited salary budget? You do know it is the 2nd most expensive budget in Scottish football right?

Agree11 Disagree4

I think it should be the worst team we have had, we are playing in div three. I think if out of this mess, we get two or three who can play at a higher level. I think McLeod, MacKay and maybe Aird may be the three.

However we should realise that this embargo has limited us, Boca and Goian went on last day of transfer window and were replaced by the likes of Cribari. I would rather see a team with one or two over thirties in the team and the rest of them should be youngsters. The truth is our youngsters were not very good, they were miles behind in the league last year.

I think we will sign some out of contracts come September and maybe one or two signings in January.

Listen we are in div three, what we needed to do was win the league which we have done. Even if we could afford it and not have transfer restrictions there is no point having world beaters in div three. As we go up the leagues we will get good enough players to win that league. That's the job for next two years.

The bigger problem as I see it is this - this was the perfect chance to build a club system, find a way of playing and make sure that all teams at all ages play the same way and the same formations. There seems to be no pattern of play, and the problem is the coaches are not good enough. Fed up hearing and reading that Murray Park is not producing players. Since when could a piece of grass produce a great players? Talented kids and good coaches produce great players. The problem is that we have neither.

Agree4 Disagree0

If rangers have a salary budget what do Annan or Berwick have?

Agree5 Disagree1

@6 sorry but your wrong in saying it's all about winning Div 3. We should be building a team for the future yet there are no signs of that. With the wage budget and the fact we paid £500k for Templeton means that getting out of Div 3 should have been a lot easier than it has been.

Agree2 Disagree2

@8) You are wrong we are building for the future. you are correct most of the displays are well below what we would expect from a Rangers team, Do you honestly think Aird McKay Mcloud would be anywhere first team places if we were still in the Spl?. The first step this season was to win the league which if results go our way will be won by the end of this month. I personally don't know what some of our fans were expecting, we are where we are.
