Whoever plays Motherwell in the final basically has a free pass to the spl. If I have ever seen a shaky defence then there it is, mistake after mistake. Rangers, QoS and hubs would destroy the Motherwell team. Thanks McCall, for building said team and essentially (unknowingly) getting us into the spl not only for your work at rangers but also at Motherwell. One might say it was an evil plan hehehehe

Joke btw

Talking of motherwell, that Lee Erwin looks great, I seen a bit of the match tonight and he was really good, if motherwell go down I wouldn't mind trying to pick him up on the cheap

Only show. I agree. Erin caught my eye a few weeks ago. I think he's a real find

I don't think it will be Motherwell in the play offs I think they will catch Kilmarnock or Ross county

it could be kilmarnock and that would be even better

Young Macloed on the bench for brentford tonight. I hope he gets a some game time tonight. He deserves a break from injuries

Good luck to the wee man. If it wasnt for a great consistent debut season for mcgregor I would chose Macleod for rangers player of the year

L3mst3r Wouldn't it be better if we played the kilmarnock team that motherwell beat 3-1?

Agree2 Disagree0

09 May 2015 16:52:22
Based on that result yes, but on all of the results no. McCall knows that team inside out and that could be a factor in the players minds

jyf correct got a better chance of beating killie as motherwell look like they might survive

Law
Shiels
McKay

Why McKay? He's not had that good a season to walk right in! Also vuckic, who's nearing top goal scorer, would start on the right where he cuts in. I'd play shiels on the left wing and would reluctantly have to start someone like black or Hutton in the centre to help add more protection which we have lacked

Feel as if we need some creativity. Something totally different. QOS clearly have us sussed, and that won't change unless we deal a different hand. If we play someone in a holding role, QOS will pack the midfield and press heavily forcing error. I think we should play an attacking game. Stuart McCall quoted on the Bears website saying "if you fear failure, you'll freeze".

We don't have that in afraid. Vuckic was supposed to be that number 10 but our forwards don't make enough runs off the ball just yet. They are starting to do it more and more

Sadly, the person that impersonates a defender McCulloch will 100% be guaranteed be in our team thus seriously undermining the chances of defending and getting a draw or a win.

I fancy 1-0 to Rangers IF for some reason McCulloch is dropped but 2-0 to QoS if as likely he is as usual in team (I deliberately did not say picked). if lucky 1-0 loss.

McCulloch will possibly single handedly destroy our season I hope I am wrong as without him I really fancy us.

Last time we played without mcculloch we got beat 3 0. qos commit men forward which means our midfield must defend for the first time this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

The Palmerston result was down to us pushing forward after losing a stupid goal that will not be the set up today it is a different perspective over 2 legs McCall will be happy for US to hit on break with Wallace and Foster (not ideal) supporting attack a draw will see us through but now that Big Hffy has been dropped the defence will be better trust me we will not be all out attack like the previous games when we totally underestimated them

Let's talk lineups (no not that kind)

Tomorrow vs QoS

Who do you want to see start and what tactics/formation should we use?

Bell
foster
McGregor
zaliukas
Wallace
Murdoch
law
Vuckic
clark
hardie/gallacher/McKay/shiels
Daly

same setup just done correctly, clark for his pace to run on after daly wins the header, shiels as he has pulled a bit of form together. Vuckic as well it is vuckic lol. Murdoch has been great, Law as he is pulling form together under McCall. and that defense as it is the most solid we have.

Is your set up a 433?

It's a really hard call but I would go for a 352 with 2 wing backs and a deeper defensive line as they are quick and good on the break. The 3 defenders and 2 wing backs would provide protection as well as the midfield making us hard to breakdown.

With bell, foster, mcgregor, zaliukas, moshni, Wallace midfield would be Murdoch, law and vuckic with Miller partnering Boyd/hardie

I wanted to play vuckic upfront because he is mostly ineffective in midfield until he scores but in the box his linkup and finishing is the best we have. He would be a good parter for Miller or Boyd both of whom have really good link up play and Miller tends to score on the big games Boyd knows where the back of the net is but needs to be in the right frame of mind hence my ropey choice.

Hardie basically is Clark but with goals. Will run around all day but does have the finish in him we will create chances just need the players to finish!

If we aren't winning I would bring on temps/ McKay and tell them to run at the defence.

Osa)that looks about as solid a side as we could possibly field,if the defence can concentrate for 90mins + we should do ok, I can't wait for tomorrow just booked my flight from Southampton and I've got my golden ticket for the for the game albeit not amongst our own and got tickets the return my grandson is buzzing at the thought of it. Mon the Gers.

in the lie ups above daly and boyd can't be considered because they are no fit and boyd had to be forced into playing for durants team although he scored his backside is as big as mine foster could not cope with the pace of the q o s wide men

4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 I reckon the 4-3-3 would give me protection with 3 in midfield, however a 4-2-3-1 done right could give us defensive cover. If need be i'd sacrifice Daly for Mohnsi at the back to go to a 3-5-2 that would completely stop QOTS and their counter attacking tactics.

08 May 2015 17:57:02
Hey big wull the only thing fosters got is plenty of pace to burn he's probably one of our quickest players so hel handle there pacey wide men its his decision making and defensive frailtys i'm more worried about

Bell, Foster, McGregor, Zaliukas, Moshni, Wallace, McCulloch, Law, Murdoch, Shiels and Miller
I'd play a 3-5-2 with the fullbacks supporting the midfield and McCulloch sitting in front of the back three. I'd have Miller as lone striker supported by Law, Murdoch and Shiels, with Vuckic, Clark and Hardie on the bench maybe to appear later as 'impact players.'
We need to keep things tight and make sure we are not chasing the game. Shut down the midfield and stifle their play. Typical Walter tactics.
Depending on the result I would probably switch to a 4-4-2 for the return leg and bring in Vuckic and Hardie in front of a packed Ibrox
Good luck guys!

Now I know confidence isn't high for any fan right now, but as a fan that is travelling to Dumfries tomorrow I'd expect the fans to be a lot more vocal(positively)for the players. it was a joke last time there from the fans, we need to get behind the players. be the 12th man!
