I don't blame all these 'sellik' fans that come on here. The runners up page must be more depressing than a lock in at your local hospital! Think about it and cut them a bit of slack! They have had to watch us lift the league title three years on the trot. Their 'stadium' looks like something my three year old could build out of his building blocks. Peter Lawwell wants to wrap it and join the stand up circuit and their manager is an overgrown toddler with severe behaviour problems. And to top it all off they have a big Greek lassie playing upfront for them! If coming on here helps keep them of the prozac then fair game.

Why is john fleck and kyle hutton going on loan they are miles better than broadfoot and edu just dont get the same chances, if fleck got the last 33 out of 34 games like edu has had he would be twice the player.

It's official, all Celtic fans are more interested in the champions than their own team.

Over the last couple of days reading posts on here and listening to the phone in on the radio.

How sad must it be to be so obsessed with your rivals that you forget about your own team.

alright ed do you think rangers will go for malbranque a think he is worth a try get him in on a year contract and do you think mcoist should be going in for McFadden and diouf as they are free and will be good squad players a think it is defenetley worth a shot add a bit of quality to that bench it defenetley gives ally more choice from the bench {Ed001's Note - impossible to say right now, I don't even know who his agent is now he has fallen out with his father. No one knows what he is going to do or what agreement he had to cancel his contract with St Etienne.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cheers anyway ed {Ed001's Note - sorry I can't be more help, I can't even phone his agent and ask!}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd stay well clear of Malbranque. It reeks of Jerome Rothen! Dioufs only quality is his ability to wind up the mhanky mhob and McFadden is injury prone and would cost too much than we would be willing to pay in wages. We better just hope that Jelavic stays fit (and takes his finger out his a**e).

been away a couple of days and just catching up on all the posts, noticed one poster has had several posts yesterday and today with some awful jokes, so blue bells are blue one question, are you Timalloy in disguise ha ha Saracen Loyal

Believable4 Unbelievable0

At least Timalloy is original, this guy is just a poor copy ha ha CFC 1888 (ps everything rangers do Celtic have done first)

Timalloy is defo original, his jokes were not even funny in the 70`s.

Timalloy is defo a person according to his celtic buddies- they say hes been released from an asylum recentley , called parkhead.

True mate.we havent even won the lesser european trophies.

Agree0 Disagree0

Epic comment at the top 'Everything Rangers do, Celtic do first'.
Which is basically stating that your team lives of past glory, While Rangers have competed more successfully in the modern era. But if you want a true calculation of an overall historical success of our teams, it is best to judge on the league which has been running for over a hundred years.
Now ask yourselves, have you reached 50 league titles yet? because that milestone is well and truly passed on this page.

I beleive that loaning john fleck and Kyle Hutton to a lower leauge club will do then both the world of good. I think our squad is strong enough to let then leave short term because of the arrivals of bedoya and mackay. Let's face it, it's highly unlikley they will feature for us much this season anyway so instead of letting them rot on the bench get them playing week in week out and improving themselves as players

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Spot on mate. Going out on loan never done Charlie Adam any harm. Personally i'd keep Fleck and give him a shot upfront with Jelavic, but if Ally's not going to use him then a loan is the best option for both parties.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't mean he'll come back and do the business for Rangers tho. Fleck i think has 2 leave ibrox altogether and kick start his career, like Charlie Adam did.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fleck needs to get in shape 1st he`s like a barrell-once hes shed a few pounds i think he`d be awesome but charlie adam was far fatter with us than he was at blackpool he looks far fitter now and look how his game has gone up a notch or 2-to many chubby players at ibrox!!

********Stop Press*************

In a shock announcement expected tomorrow morning the board of directors at Rangers Football Club will openly admit that the recent press speculation over the clubs finances is totally true. Even worse!
1) Our once mighty club is the sole reason for the latest current global banking crisis, with RBS spending a fortune on Rangers Hospitality and Scarves, Cups etc...!
2) The occupation of Afghanistan is directly attributable to Rangers fans horrific verbal abuse of decent Celtic supporters in 2002!
3) The 9/11 pilots all had Rangers Season tickets and were singing FOLLOW FOLLOW !
4) Jedward were created in secret Ibrox Labs and released as a plague on the earth by evil Rangers scientists!
5) Timalloy is incredibly attractive to both women and men and it is entirely his own choice to sit on his single bed with the buzz lightyear duvet cover and y**k himself off over a mouldy Larsen poster.

Rangers Eleven For Saturday

Mcgreggor

Whittaker Papac
Goian Bocanegra

Naismith Wylde
Edu Davis

Lafferty

Jelavic Most likely team I would imagine, with maybe Naismith going into the centre and Bedoya coming in for Edu. Maybe even play Naismith behind Jelavic with Edu in the centre and Bedoya on the right and see how the two Americans do together. Edu's performance might be better as a result. Doubt Mckay will start as he hasn't played a competitive league game since March, but would love to see him in the starting line up, and he has played a few international games and played pre-season in Australia.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

So the international games that you mentioned in your note, which were actually world cup qualifiers, aren't considered as competitive games then.....

Rangers to commemorate death of fans at Old Firm game

Tommy Thomson and George Nelson died after a crush of fans at Ibrox stadium in 1961.

Rangers FC are set to commemorate the deaths of two fans 50 years ago at an Old Firm game later this month.

Tommy Thomson and George Nelson lost their lives moments after Rangers played Celtic at Ibrox on September 16, 1961.

At the first Old Firm game of this season, on September 18, the families of the two men will take part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the John Greig statue, which also commemorates the 66 people who died in the Ibrox disaster of 1971.

They will then be guests of the club for the game. Mr Thomson, 29, from Gourock and Mr Nelson, 22, from Penilee, died on a stairway as they attempted to leave the Copland Road end of the stadium.

Reports from the time said the two men fell during a crush, which injured 50 people.

As well as the commemoration, players will wear black armbands during the match.

Mcgregor

Whittaker,Gorain,Bocanegra,Papac

Edu, Ness, Davis, Mckay

Naismith, Jelavic

Subs: Alexander, Lafferty, Mculloch, Wylde, Bedoya, Perry, Healy

I don't think edu should start but McCoist seems to be sticking by him so putting him out the way on the right best. I would rather see Mcmillan than whittaker but again Ally will stick with that bombscare of a right back. Good to see Papac back and fit, 2-0 to the champs saturday WATP!

Life could be worse, we could be celtic fans!!

A Celtic supporting family were out shopping and ended up in a sports shop. Little Shaun suddenly puts on a Rangers shirt and says to his sister 'Look, I'm a Rangers fan!' His sister slaps him across the face and orders him to show their mum.

He wanders over to his mum and says Ma look, 'I'm a Rangers fan' His mother also slaps him across the face and orders him to show his dad. He finds his dad and say's 'Da', da', I'm a Rangers fan' His dad looks at him and them he also slaps him across the face.

On their way home in the car the family turn to him and say 'Well we hope you've learned something today' To which little Shaun replies 'Yeah, I've only been a Rangers fan for twenty minutes and I already hate you Celtic b**tards!'

There was a group of people on a tour-bus. The guide on the bus asked if anyone on the bus could tell the rest a joke, where upon a man got up and said that he could tell a Celtic joke.

Suddenly a bloke in the back of the bus said 'No, don't do that pal. I'm a Celtic fan!'
The guide looked at him and said

'That's okay we'll explain it to you afterwards'.

Four surgeons were talking during a coffee break.

The first one says,
"Accountants are the easiest to operate on because when you open them up everything inside them is numbered".

The second one says,
"Nah, librarians are the best, everything inside them is in alphabetical order".

The third says, "Try electricians, everything inside them is colour coded".

To which the fourth says," I prefer Celtic fans, they're heartless, spineless, gutless and their heads and
arses are interchangeable".

Q: What do Celtic fans use for birth control?
A: Their personalities

Q:Why do people take a instant dislike to Celtic fans?
A: Because it saves time.

Thieves broke into the home of a Celtic Fan and stole two books.
"The thing that upsets me", he said "is that I hadn't finished colouring them in yet!"

‘Championship clubs are buying players for £6m . . . I don’t think that will happen up here’

ALLAN McGREGOR has insisted he is pleased with the quality of players signed by Rangers over the close season, and said the club had vindicated his decision to commit to a new long-term deal.

The goalkeeper signed a six-year-contract committing him to Ibrox until 2017. It was arguably the most impressive piece of business Rangers conducted all summer, given the speculation that he would decide to move to the Barclays Premier League.

That could yet happen, of course, but McGregor would at least secure a bigger fee for the club than would have been the case under his previous deal, which ran until in 2013.

McGregor signed up after talks with owner Craig Whyte and manager Ally McCoist, who outlined their ambitions and persuaded him to be a part of them. “I had faith that Rangers would sign players and keep those who had done well before,” said the goalkeeper. “I think that has happened. We have missed out on two or three names that it was said we wanted, but that is the way it is now.”

Rangers were linked with the former Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland midfielder Steed Malbranque in the French media yesterday but senior Ibrox sources dismissed the story to Herald Sport.

“I think in terms of signings it is getting harder [for Rangers],” said McGregor. “You look at clubs in the Championship and they are buying players for £4m, £5m and £6m and I don’t think that will happen up here. Not for the foreseeable future, anyway. If you are competing for players with Championship teams now then it is hard.

“Rangers have brought in a few players and they’ve done well in some of the games so far. How many have we played? Seven or eight so far? It will take time for them to settle in at a new club, or a new country in some cases. I think the standard of the signings is good and they will help us in the long run.

“We need to keep players fit and we’ve had a few injuries really just in a couple of positions. Those we brought in look good and hopefully we can gel as a team.”

McGregor was with the Scotland squad last week as the transfer window closed. Despite interest from Liverpool and Leicester City in Nikica Jelavic, and an inquiry from Aston Villa about Steven Davis, neither Rangers’ main striker nor their captain left Ibrox.

“It was good news that the likes of Nikica Jelavic and Steven Davis are staying,” said McGregor. “You are talking about two top quality players there – guys that were great for us last season. We needed the likes of them to stay.”

Jelavic has looked out of sorts and discontented recently, but McGregor said that was not how he seemed to team-mates. “I work with Jelavic every day and I don’t see anything wrong with his body language. I don’t know if anyone else has a different opinion. The way he goes about his business for Rangers has not changed in my opinion.”

Australia international Matt McKay's move to Rangers is the right one for all concerned
The Socceroo could be set for his debut this weekend after making the move from Brisbane Roar, and the SPL could be just what the midfielder needs

Matt McKay’s move to Rangers has been questioned by some who suggest that the Scottish Premier League (SPL) is not at a level that is best for the Socceroo’s continued development.

However, while the SPL may not be the equal of many European leagues, it is still a place where he will continue to improve.

Perhaps most encouraging for McKay is that players like Ki and Izaguirre came to the SPL as relative unknowns, similar to the Australian
late

Also in McKay’s favour is the fact that he will offer the sort of drive from midfield that the Gers have been missing this season. A true box-to-box midfielder, McKay is the type of player boss Ally McCoist had been seeking to add to his squad during the transfer window.
Having had a bid turned down for St Johnstone’s all-action midfielder Murray Davidson it is possible that McKay could find himself in the centre of the Rangers midfield rather than the initially mooted left-sided role he has so impressively filled for the Socceroos. If McKay is to play in the centre, then there are Rangers players who will bring out the best in him.

Lee McCulloch in holding midfield will provide dependable cover to allow him the freedom to burst forward and forwards Nikica Jelavic and Steven Naismith will thrive on McKay’s ability to pick a pass under pressure.

Whatever role he plays, put your money on him being a success. It is often noted that some players excel at one level but struggle when they transferto a bigger league. On the evidence of McKay’s performances at international level for the Socceroos, it seems extremely unlikely that he will fit into this category. Placed in better company and facing difficult opposition McKay has continued to improve and looked extremely capable against top international players when playing for Australia.

Rangers star Steven Naismith today vowed to follow up his second strike for Scotland with his first-ever goal in an Old Firm derby.

Naismith hit the target for his country in the vital 1-0 win over Lithuania on Tuesday evening, taking his tally for club and country during the 2011/12 campaign so far to five in 11 matches.

And the 24-year-old is now confident he can net for the first time for the Gers against the Hoops at Ibrox a week on Sunday.

Naismith said: “I would love to get a goal against Celtic. I’ve scored against them for Kilmarnock, but doing it in a derby would be very different.

“I’ve found the net against most of the other SPL sides since I moved to Ibrox, but it would be nice to add Celtic to that list as it would mean so much more.

I would be VERY surprised if we sign ANY player(s) who are free agents and excluded from the transfer window. If we are not going to splash the cash when we have 2 full months of transfer window and possible European football budget due to come in what makes any of you think when window is shut and the financial side of club has taken another blow due to Euro exits that we will afford wages for another player.
Beattie and rangers came to a mutual agreement to end his contract with him probably getting 50% of his wages and now that Fleck and Ness won't be going to Sheffield United that leaves little wages been freed up.
On the Jellyfish saga I feel that a deal has been done with this mystery club to sell him in January window when we have time to buy some form of replacement but don't expect Coisty to have any more than £3m tops to reinvest.
Its not all doom and gloom that just the reality but the reality is also that we are the Champions and top of the league and we must have a better squad as we have kept all the good players and added a few in addition to blooding some quality youngsters i.e Ness and Wylde with Hutton, Fleck and McMillan not far away.
Futures still bright

It seems my post about getting Whyte out yesterday didn't go down very well. One of the replies stated where would we be without him. I can tell you where, in a far better situation than we are now. At least Lloyds were up front with us and never lied to us. We knew what to expect. Whyte lied to all of us then disappeared. Has anyone heard from him?? No, the silence is deafening. He's taking us to admin.

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Lloyd's TSB didnt lie to us? Good grief you really are a gullible fool if you think for 1 minute that a bank was 'up front'. This bank help put us all in a recession and you think their honest, open and friendly??? They just wanted their money end of and they would have sold off whatever player was enquired about for the first offer that came in, simple. You are deluded. Not only are you deluded your listening to much to people who have no clue what's going to happen, but all they want to happen is to see Rangers fall. STOP LISTENING to these people think about the c*ap your spreading and ask yourself seriously; would this man conduct 6months due diligence to take over one of Europe biggest Clubs only to wipe it out strip its assests and walk away, with both legs still attached to his body? Really? If your problem is not to that degree and you are only concerned about the lack of money, then I'm afraid thats the situation my friend, there is no money in Scottish football, there wont be for the foreseeable future and we can not continue to spend out of control only to fall back to where we were 3 years ago.

Support Ally. This kind of scaremongering that is going on just now is all part of the course, Celtic went through the same sh*t. Its worse for us coz we are in a recession and we have HRMC wanting to make up for that and make an example of Rangers in order to pursue other clubs in the same position.

To suggest the bank are Rangers saviour is ridiculous and by a bank that cant even manage its own funding policy never mind Rangers.

GDog
WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

GDog i will always support Ally and the team. The point was making is Lloyds never lied to Rangers fans which is a totally seperate issue from the banking crisis. While Lloyds had control of us we spent far more than Whyte has done in the last transfer window. If Whyte had said we had limited funds to spend i would have happliy accepted that. However the fact remains he lied to all Rangers supporters and the fact he has disappeared off the radar speaks volumes. The man is an asset stripper out to make a huge profit from Rangers. His main line of business is taking over struggling companies etc and then selling them and their assets off at a huge profit. I could live happily knowing that we had no funds to spend and that our owner was being honest with us but not with us being run by a liar and a cheat.

Agree0 Disagree0

PS i had the unfortunate displeasure of working in the financial industry for 7 years and i know a fair bit about banking on all levels, personal, private, business, corporate and investment and subsequently know people who were directly involved in the Rangers deal so it appears you are the deluded fool my friend not me.
