i told my english friend today. i have little more than a passing interest in scotland.hate to say it but i cannot help feel resentment, for the way sfa and scottish football in general has kicked rangers, mainly through historical resentment.would hampden have had a full house today, if other gers fans hadnt felt the same.i think it would.coupled by the fact levein isnt up to the job. good player in his time, who i,d have seen at rangers.scotland manager.no.it shudve been souness or dalgleish.but they are too strong willed for the sweet f.a. no gers players in team, whose fault is that. when they put us down, they put a hari kari sword through the heart of scottish football for a number of years. the old firm game was all our game had to b proud of.what a bunch of fools

Believable15 Unbelievable15

Rangers went bankrupt. People started a new business using the assets of the disgraced organisation. The sfa and sfl rules were followed with regard to new clubs. It was the people at the new club who tried to bend the rules and jump in at a higher level. Why is this so hard to understand ? Rangers went bankrupt.

Agree23 Disagree21

We've been saying for months why should us Gers fans be punished because of the actions of two men so why not support Scotland because of the actions of two Englishmen, Doncaster and Regan?

Hamish. Proud to be Scottish & British

Agree15 Disagree16

@1 I agree to an extent but ur was they went about it,making up rules and bending existing ones.even now the are still coining in money of us abit two faced is it not.so my days of going to hampden As a used tk are over

Agree5 Disagree7

1) Is correct, the OP shouild not be boycotting anyone as RFC were not killed by the SPL or SFA.
CriagWhyte killed your club forcing it into liquidation, then Green came along and started a club to recreate RFC. That club were allowed to start where new clubs start.....at the lowest league.
Stop blaming the SPL teams, Chairmen, Scotland Football team or all the "timmys" out there.

Incidentally did your mob boycott Hampden yesterday? as i didn't see an empty seat! Will you be boycotting games if your playing celtic or another SPL team. And will you be boycotting Hampden if you make it to a Cup Final?

DazzaBhoy

Agree12 Disagree12

@2. Just how do you feel as a fan that you are being punished?
Al

Agree10 Disagree3

Sorry I'm a Gers fan but our present crop of players ain't good enough for the national team

Agree8 Disagree0

Dazza - I agree with your comments about Whyte but only a fool wouldnt acknowledge the influence applied by the mis-guided laptop people - also I am a blue nose and was at Hampden today as I always do - not sure what your point was but there were loads (thousands) of empty seats (only a small action of the South Stand Upper was open) - there will be many many more empty on Tuesday so I think it's not just bears but the sell-out Saturday brigade that are walking away from Scotland - it's a shame as we should all be proud Scots but the events of this summer has soured our national sport

Agree4 Disagree2

Bending the rules? who bent them, not the fans,or current rangers leaders, management or players. go after the guys that did bend the rules.they damaged rangers far more than any other club or organisation.and as for bending rules isnt that what they all done, when they made up punishments as they went along. we all know these rules were not in place pre rangers

Agree6 Disagree5

@4. I think you'll find it was HMRC who forced Rangers into Liquidation....Craig Whyte led them to it.

Agree7 Disagree0

@1. Disgraced Organisation? - Gave yourself away rather quickly there timmy. We will see who is a Disgraced Organisation shorty - Remembrance day is due soon, we'll see what hatred spews from the minds of the Green Brigade this time eh!

Agree8 Disagree8

1. Rangers went into Liquidation partly thanks to Craig Whyte, but HMRC had alot to do with it also. B) Saying we are a disgraced organisation is your opinion and a certain Rangers hating element within Scottish Football. C) SFA/SPL rules were not followed in the main, because they made them adhoc as the went along, before the carry on at Rangers, some of these so called rules did not exist. D) The SFA/SPL tried to bend the rules as you put it, due to the fact that not having Rangers in the SPL/SFL1 would damage their TV/Sponsorship revenue. We did not bend the rules, we accepted our fate by the SFL clubs who stuck to their 'integrity' - remember that word, seems to have been forgotten especially when Rangers were blackmailed into accepting the TV contract otherwise no SFA Licence. E) Yes we went bankrupt, i'll give you that one, so if thats the case and we're a new team as you and your fellow fans like to remind us, i would hope there will be no retrospective punishment heading our way from the goons at SFA/SPL headquarters.

Agree6 Disagree2

Yes it's a pity SFA did not apply one of it's
existing rules and banished you from the game. Now would you have liked that?
Scotland's Shame

Agree7 Disagree2

@10: that doesn't make the organisation disgraced.

Agree1 Disagree2

9) You tryying to be boring......D&P led them their, BDO will liquidate them and yes Craig whyte only led them there......big star son.

&0There was 47,000 their to see Scotland according to BBC, or are do Sevco fans not believe the BBC as they told stories about RFC! My point is that the boycotting threat is not gonna wash, Scottish fitba doesn't care about Sevco/RFC as they have shown by forcing you to go through Newco route. I can appreciate most RFC fans are raging at the SPL/SFA. But the SPL tried to get Newco into their league with points deductions. the SFA tried to put you in Div 1 but the clubs voted against this, as they would if Cove Rangers asked to play in div1. Scottish football attendannces will fall away, Celtic fans will pick and choose what game to go and see just as Sevco fans will. But by boycotting other teams, especially Scotland, RFC/Sevco/Newco fans are embarrassing themselves and slowly killing our game.

DazzaBhoy

Agree4 Disagree0

@14. Somehow i don't think it will make one ounce of difference what will happen to our game whether or not Rangers fans follow Scotland. The game is slowly being killed by those in the seats of power. Until they are removed then nothing will change, new blood with new ideas is whats required. But hey, no doubt if the Scotland team fail to qualify, then the powers that be will find someway to pin point the blame on Rangers/Fans for the national teams failure.

Agree2 Disagree4

14) True, the game in this country does need to change. Cheaper tickets, bigger SPL, better competition.

But no-one is blaming Sevco/RFC fans for anything, Green/McCoist are giving you the sob story that the world is against you, so you buy seasons, shirts etc. Which you lot are lapping up. Most supporters don't care about RFC/Sevco or Celtic, they care about their own team and thats all.

If the football was more family friendly in this country folk could take their kids, but for me to go to Celtic park with my little girl would cost 53 pounds, 26 for an adult and 17 for a nipper! And for that we would get the privelage of being told by a steward to sit down every five minutes. In todays market 53 quid for 2 hours is a lot of money, and when you could go to M&D's for the same price then what is your child gonna pick?

If games were child friendly, players signing stuff, reserve players playing kickabouts with supporters , not to forget, face painters! etc then football would be more attractive to a wider audience.

We all know the crowd's are dwindling, for every club (despite your "world record"!) so is giving away free tickets to kids a bad idea? They are our future and if we get them into going to the game's now then maybe they will continue the habit for years to come?

why oh why dont they pick a scottish manager with either internetional experience or champions league experience....the present manager has no credentials at this level and it shows....kenny miller is DONE...period....this game was crying out for rhodes to be a starter ...but no ....8 mins to go on he comes along wi mackie and forest.....as i look in ma crystal ball i dont see rio ...all i see is levein on the dole......deecee

Believable26 Unbelievable2

Totally agree, rhodes and forrest should of been on at least from 60 min with mackie, would of least lifted the crowd, havent heard hampden scotland game like that for a while.

Time for Strachan

Agree10 Disagree7

Shouldve been dalgleish, souness. or graham. even strachan. but these guys too strong willed for sfa. we. all know what sfa stands for...sweet etc etc

Agree10 Disagree1

Rangers fan here but I would have loved to see Martin O'neil approached for Scotland job. That guy would have players run through brick walls for him, a tremendous man manager , who could compensate for the wee lack of quality there. Although wee Strachan is a good shout as well. His press interviews are brilliant.

Agree8 Disagree4

@4 A bear? Ma baws!

Agree2 Disagree5

@5) seriously I am a rangers fan pal, season ticket holder for the front of the Copland looking straight up the touch line on the Govan stand side, why do you find it so hard to believe that I think O' Neil would have done a great job as Scotland manager.

Agree2 Disagree0

@5 well we don`t want to see them.

Agree1 Disagree0

@6. Don't think it was the O'Neil reference - i agree with you, he would do a great job for Scotland.....think it was the Strachan choice that threw him.

oh well....the road to rio seems a stretch too far already thanks to craig (1 up front ) levein...
sorry for being a doom merchant folks but i've watched this script far too often and scotland suck !
i can understand playing a lone striker agaisnt ...erm...spain,italy,holland etc but serbia!...at home...??
levein must go and must go now, that guy gets on my tits and im sick to the back teeth of his negative tactics, for me tha man of the match was big shagger and thanks to him we still have a glimmer of hope but come tuesday ...if we dont get 3 points then that's yet another world cup we evade, despite a relatively easy group compared to those of the past, serbia are at best an average team and for us to play so cautiously at home with a full house at hampden is tragic

ian

Believable20 Unbelievable3

Agree with most of that OP except the idea that this is a relatively easy group.

And although I can see the logic in not playing our players as they're in Div 3, where is the logic in playing guys like Hutton who haven't played ANY football this season.

New manager required ASAP. Walter?

Agree15 Disagree9

Thought Webster and Caldwell had a good game.
Tam

Agree9 Disagree9

If you knew anything about football you'd know that Serbia are much better than Scotland. A draw against them isn't the end of the world - not great admittedly but better than your depressing verdict suggests.

Agree11 Disagree11

Poster 3, I honestly think we have the team to beat the Serbs. On a day were playing at home, levein really shoulda pushed for a win. Im a rangers fan, but the likes of commons and forrest can do damage. Millers passed it. We need to be developing the young strikers we have for ye future now. Millers a grafter. But he's no the way forward. Levein will not take us to brazil. We will be very lucky to get a play off spot. Hopefully the sfa see that he's not the man for the job. Steven fletcher is a rich mans kris boyd. He's what we're missing. N untill he comes back into the fold. I don't see us moving forward as a team

B bear

Agree7 Disagree1

3. if you knew anything about football then you should know that it's essential to win your home games ,serbia are not world beaters for christ sake!!
even in friendlies this clown plays with 1 up front

Agree10 Disagree1

We, scotland are the minnows of international football along with luxembourg, faroes, san marino etc. There was barely an ounce of skill from anyone in a scotland jersey today. We are kidding ourselves on if we think that group of players and an incompitent manager are going to qualify for rio.

Agree5 Disagree3

@3Serbia finished third behind Estonia in the last European Championship qualifiers, its a disgrace that we never had a proper go at them today. Levein is a tit and must go!

Agree13 Disagree0

Poster 1, Walter plays 1 upfront aswell.

Agree6 Disagree4

@3 if YOU knew anything about football You would know that Serbia are 5 places ahead of Scotland in the rankings. Playing at Hampden is a leveller and should giove us a home advantage. Obviously Levein dinae think about this when choosing team or tactics on the day

Agree6 Disagree0

Scotland are poor and have been for years. We should not expect to beat teams like Serbia. You guys will be saying we should beat Belgium and Croatia at home too. Hampden is not a leveller - it doesn't make up for a lack of talent and tactical awareness. Be happy with a draw and hope we can win on Wednesday. If we have 4 points from the first two games, that won't be a bad thing, surely - who really thought we had a chance to qualify from this group? A bit of realism, please.

And if anyone is taking anything from the FIFA rankings, please think again as they're nonsense - have you seen where England are?!

Agree3 Disagree3

6/

What an idiotic comment. When have Scotland ever finished last in a qualifying group?

Agree1 Disagree1

At 10- levein seems to think we could qualify he is spouting we could win all 10 games. In my opinion i would have went with 4411 today. Mackie up front with naismith playing behind him, two natural wide players forrest and snodgrass and two holding midfielders one good at winning ball and another who can take the ball from the defence and keep possesion. I think mackie and naismith could combine well both are clever players could possibly keep the ball when we do go forward. Millers a headless chicken, i have never seen what so many managers see in him. They call him the ideal lone striker my jaksie, he is the least likely to score when played on his own, he panics in front of goal and would rather pass than take the shot cause he knows he will miss. Boyd had a wet dream when we paired them up. I remember one game we won a penalty near the end of a match with the score tied, miller had played the full match without getting a sniff at goal, to me a good striker would be fighting to get the ball and put it on the spot with the attitude that this is my goal, but not miller he was running away hiding and hoping no1 would tell him to take it, at this point i knew we would miss that penalty and we duly did mendes i think it was. Imagine if that was boyd or novo playing that day they would be running away from everyone hugging the ball like a five a year old who doesnt want to play anymore shouting its ma baw n ur no gettin it. Miller is donkey and how he managed to score the 20 odd goals before he left us still amazes me. Im pretty sure cardiff fans will feel the same after watching his penalty hit the floodlights in the play offs.

Agree1 Disagree0

@9 rankings mean nothing. they have the english team as third best in the world. if you believe that youl believe anything

Agree3 Disagree3

08 Sep 2012 17:59:38
if found guilty rangers should be stripped of titles but they should not be passed on to anyone else ust erased from official listings for guilty years , monies paid to rangers will have to be paid back also from oldco , not likely to happen . i know it feels like the whole world is against us but we will never hear the end of this till we are seen to have paid our penance .once its all sorted then we can leave it in the past

Believable14 Unbelievable18

guity before proven, this is not about titles it's about how much the SPL can s@?#w out of Rangers to prop up an insolvent organisation.

They are using titles as leverage to try and put a smoking gun to our heads and extort money that does not belong to the SPL or their member clubs.

Carling1873

Agree16 Disagree15

Wtf are you on about 'insolvent organisation'? I wish some of the bears on here would catch a grip of themselves. Some of us want to move forward and idiots like you are holding us back and showing the rest of us up.A large percentage of GERS supporters really badly need to grow up. And before all the 'oh I must be a timmy' bull I am a season ticket at Ibrox and have been for many years. I go to every home game with my 68 yr old father and my 19 yr old son. When other fans call us knuckledraggers, bitter and twisted it is aimed at people like you. Respectable RANGERS supporters know what it means to be lucky enough to follow OUR club and protect the public image of the greatest sporting institution in the world. If you can't carry yourself in the correct manner as Rangers fans then maybe you aren't worthy of supporting OUR club. Please stop showing OUR club up by your complete ignorance and child like behaviour, if you can't move on you will be left behind, although I do believe there are far too many people who follow the Rangers that don't know how to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. Hopefully the day will come when the Rangers support is once again made up of the gallant gentlemen who are proud to part of our culture, country and club. I stopped posting on here because it was being over ran by fans of other clubs AND the small section of cretins that have somehow attached themselves to OUR club. Where are all the gentleman supporters, the REAL RANGERS men? Far too much ignorance in our support.

Larky Bear

Agree15 Disagree13

Green claims that rangers history has continued and that only the holding company went into liquidation. If that is true (and we know it is not by hey ho) then prize money would have been paid to the football club not the holding company and they would be liable to pay it back. So 10 years of prise money = ~£20million. There would also be compensation claims for not playing in Europe. A reasonable estimate of the compensation claim would be equivalent of you European earnings over that period so say another £50million. There is also potential compensation from all relegated teams in that period, another £10million. Claims from European teams knocked out by rangers, maybe another £50 million This is all worse case scenario but is possible.

Agree10 Disagree6

Sir an excellent post.I'm not a gers fan but
I agree wholeheartily with your comments.
If there was more like you and I'm sure there's many, things would be a lot better for all of us.thanks

Agree9 Disagree1

A great and honest post Larky Bear, it's time a lot of us teddy bears woke up and smelt the coffee and C. Greens comments about us being the same as before doesn't help some of our deluded fans
Bobby

Agree11 Disagree0

Well said Larky Bear. Some of the paranoia coming out from bears at the moment reminds me of fans of another team. Let's quit the victim mentality and move forward!

Agree7 Disagree3

@1 totally agree m8 the sfa are made up of a board of con men being helped daily by mr septic lawell who continually look at ways tk punish our already torn club to bits even further and gain financially out it

Agree3 Disagree7

@7: not deluded much, are you? There were never any complaints before but now Lawwell is on the board - as he was voted on by the other clubs, including yours! - the knives are out. How pathetic are you?

Agree5 Disagree4

@8. Works both ways. When Rangers had "their people" on the board of the SFA, i remember Celtics fans claiming there was an agenda against them. Does not matter who is on the board, both sets of fans will see 'hidden agendas' within. No i'm not a Rangers or Celtic fan before you accuse me.

Agree3 Disagree0

Is the stripping of titles the correct course of action that should be taken? I have no idea what punishment should be handed down as every player was still a registered with the SPL/SFA. I can't help but think that the stripping of titles is what a certain club want and it seems they won't be happy with any other punishment. Rangers didn't gain an unfare advantage over anybody, they finished third in 2004/2005 season for crying out loud. The season before they won the league with what was possibly the worst team in Rangers history. It's clear that the strong hatred toward Rangers is the main driving force behind "THEIR" desperate need for the stripping of titles.

TTG

Agree3 Disagree2

@10: so being able to pay players more than declaring - and so attracting them to the club in the first place - isn't gaining an advantage? Wake up, please. And if another club had done this, would you be just accepting it or demanding action was taken. If dual contracts are proven, it deems the players ineligible so you're saying that playing ineligible players doesn't mean an advantage is gained?! It's breaking the rules ffs.

Agree3 Disagree4

@10: it's not just Celtic fans who want titles stripped - I'm sure you'll find fans of every other team do. As you would if the shoe was on the other foot.

Agree4 Disagree3

@10: nothing to do with hatred but what's a correct punishment for cheating.

Agree3 Disagree3

@11).

The players still gained SFA clearence to sign for the club, and were under contract. They still had footballing contracts registered with the SFA. Ok, if Rangers have done wrong regarding dual contracts then they should be punished. But I don't see how this would render the players ineligble when they had SFA membership. Some of the players who apparently had dual contracts came through the youth system, how is that an unfare advantage? Bob Malcolm, Chris Burke, Ross McCormack, Stevie Smith et al, then you have guys like Novo, Buffel, Andrews, Rae, these guys were in the starting 11 on Helicoptor Sunday....that's not much of an advantage is it? Celtic were unbeaten during this season, so again, where is the unfare advantage in that? Other clubs and their fans see this as the perfect opportunity to get revenge on Rangers. It's the stripping of titles you want and you will do whatever it takes to have them stripped, even if it doesn't fit the crime.

TTG

Agree2 Disagree2

@13).

That's exactly my point. You "what's a punishment for cheating"?. The fact that it's Rangers who have "cheated" has resulted in other fans demanding they be stripped of titles. They don't want to hear of any other possible sanctions, the only sanction on their minds is the stripping of titles. It's jealousy. All we have heard over the past decade is how Celtic have always had a better team than Rangers, even during 3 in a row, Celtic were always the better team...is that why the stripping of titles is the top demand, because of jealousy and anger at losing the league to an inferior team?

TTG

Agree2 Disagree2

@2: Thankyou for understanding me so well; however insolvent is insolvent (techically speaking), latest audited accounts available for the SPL show an insolvent balance sheet, with liabilities exceeding assets by £196,000, inability to pay the member clubs their fair share and also pay in full the SFL it's entitlement.

SPL now using their ambiguous rules to gain wriggle room, funny how this has gone very quiet, if they could service all obligations' would this not be good PR!!

Are you a Timmy? Since you show so much distaste to this; a simple no would be suffice.

Carling1873

PS if I still come across as an idiot, I will use simple / small word for you next time.

Agree3 Disagree2

Whoops, meant to say Celtic were unbeaten against Rangers.

TTG

Agree0 Disagree0

@14: dual contracts are against the rules so are a form of cheating. Rangers may not have been able to keep or attract players if they had been abiding by the rules. Yes, that's hypothetical but it still counts. Dual contracts means the players were (in the light of the rules) ineligible - not eligible to play. Playing them was breaking the rules and if they weren't on the pitch it is possible that Rangers wouldn't have won the trophies. that's how the rules work and that's how, if cheating is proven, the SFA/UEFA/FIFA will see it. Therefore, titles might well be stripped - not just because other clubs want them to be but because that's what should happen.

If the SFA/SPL don't strip titles and UEFA/FIFA say they should, will that make UEFA/FIFA jealous or hateful of Rangers? By your theory it does, hence your theory being nonsense. but keep spouting the hatred/jealousy mince if it makes you feel better and justifies your entrenched stance.

OP sums up the people that Rangers are stuck with luckily posts 1,3,4 and 5 are now the majority of new breed Gers fans less bigotry and more footballing brains. The stats for games where Edu played shoew clearly his was a great defencive midfielder, he plays for USA and is in a fairly good team in EPL Stoke , both these facts show the regard EXPERTS have for him not F***NIES who as previous post says boo our own team, I personally want mccoist replaced as his stats are worst ever BUT as he is Gers manager i support him and the team at games and always will, Gers for life goog luck to Edu an

Ok let's see how this goes....

WHO CARES ABOUT TITLES BEING STRIPPED??

If they do strip us of titles who cares it doesn't change a thing.

What are they going to do go to every bear and erase their memory say you can't talk about helicopter Sunday you cant talk about the uefa cup final. b**locks to them the can take the titles but my memories will live forever.

Credit must go to Celtic as well because without them my memories wouldn't be half as good as they are I mean the amount of bottles that crashed over the years is unbelievable so thanks boys.

Rangers now rangers then rangers forever

WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED

Believable23 Unbelievable21

Liquidate Murray's knighthood because he was corrupt in his business dealings but we'll still celebrate the fruit of his labour; those memories they'll never take.
You lot need to listen to yourselves!

Agree17 Disagree11

Have to agree to a degree and I'm a Celtic fan. Wouldn't want a title from you. Mark it null and void. Memories do last forever an it wasn't the fans that cheated.

Agree20 Disagree2

The good thing is in year's to come you might have good memorie's of your new team as well
Tam

Agree8 Disagree1

We shall not be moved ......? from where exactly, the fourth tier of scottish football ? you seemed to have cleared your memory banks as far as who is actually to blame for the plight of your club is concerned and still shamelessly elect to blame all and sundry except the real culprits ...... you keep all your memories because just shortly thats all you will have when the rest of the footballing world are enlightened to the extent of your corruption .

Agree7 Disagree10

Justice must be pursued with the same ruthless vigour the perpetrators employed in the pursuit of the proceeds of the crime. In this case as with all sporting disqualifications all competitors move up one place. The titles will belong to celtic just as surely as Carl Lewis has a gold medal and ben Johnson does not. {Ed001's Note - the same Carl Lewis who had a number of failed drugs tests to his name prior to that Olympics? Not someone I would want to compare myself with!}

So the SPL stick three QC's on a panel and they consider submissions by both sides, then decide RFC did not comply with SPL rules about payments to players, then they decide to what punishment, doubt if RFC will be able to appeal and to whom.
Tart it up with 3 QCs, make it sound like court proceedings but basically it is an internal hearing by a private company who have no legal standing in this country other than in their own wee world of the SPHell.
What a joke.

Believable19 Unbelievable27

Well if it's anything like the FTTT the witnesses for the defence will be squirming throughout and endure an absoloute grilling.
The thing is, there's already a significant amount of information in the public domain to suggest that contractual payments to players (wages, bonuses & signing on fees) were paid through EBT's.
You have also to consider the fact that it was the City of London police who first discovered the level of corruption occurring at Ibrox when they raided the former home of Rangers1872 in relation to the Boumsong affair.
Time will tell, titles will be removed, I would imagine forcibly by some, the 5 stars above the crest of the now defunct club will look even more ridiculous and alas, justice will be done.

Agree22 Disagree19

It's a High Court Judge and two eminent QCs who specialise in contractual, corporate and Sports Law. Carefully selected for their relevant competence.
So if they get it wrong it can only be deliberate!

Agree13 Disagree5

It's not a crest, it's a badge. Or more accurately a monogram in the case of the overlapping RFC symbol. Certainly not a crest, which is the heraldic motif on top of the helmet on a coat of arms.

Agree11 Disagree5

To #2 I assume getting it wrong means either ruling against you or at least disagreeing with your eminent views...same as always if it doesnt suit it must be wrong, a witchhunt, a conspiracy, kick us when were down, nobody likes us, its all Celtics/SFA/SPL fault, it was the old management that did it, why kick the fans.....fortunately these three eminent Law men are totally impartial and will have no fear of any threats so any decision made will be deemed right and proper by the majority of football enthusiasts up and down the country...johnnyG

Agree13 Disagree7

OP - Oh how dramatic sounding.
In 2007, Police searched Newcastle, Portsmouth and Rangers in connection with transfers between Portsmouth and Newcastle and Rangers and Newcastle also two businessmen in Newcastle were involved. The players involved were Amdy Faye and Boumsong, the manager Souness of Newcastle and an agent Willie McKay, but those two were not part of the investigation. The transfers took place in 2005.
So your attempt at association of the City of London Police and solely Rangers falls flat. The City of London Police were not even looking for anything involving the now infamous EBTs, they were searching in connection with transfer corruption.
All of the above including your drama queen response does not alter that a Private Members Club is holding a private hearing about an ex member and is tarting it up to make it look as if it is part of the judicial system. Even to the extent of declaring that the outcome of the FTTT would have no bearing and is a seperate issue.
Probably through your blinkered obsessed vision 'justice will be done' but justice, integrity and SPheLL just don't gel.

Agree8 Disagree12

Has appeared in company accounts for years, the SFA knew about them, they saw nothing wrong with EBTs until now. This may be another case of SFA incompetence and we will face punishment. If it appeared in accounts and SFA are given accounts, why years later are they having a sham of an investigation?
To cover up their own short fallings.

Agree11 Disagree13

@6. This is little to do with accounts and EBTs. It is about mis-registration of players. Players may have been paid through EBTs and these may have been declared in accounts, but players could still have been mis-registered. Bear in mind, accounts are an overview, they do not list which individual players got paid or how it was paid. They may have listed money going to EBTs, without being specific about what that money was used for or who it went to.
If you want to continue to believe that the club did nothing wrong and that everyone else is to blame or that it is a witch hunt then so be it. It is just another example of the blameless society where it is always someone elses fault.

And did they find anything dodgy about the Boumsong transfer? Nope, they didn't.

Ed the 5th posting is for no. 1 not the OP, my mistake.
Having a laugh at all the obsessed tims eg @4 posting about how clean and very experienced the panel are. So just because you say it is, it has to be! sounds like my baw! Am glad that the panel wont be affected by threats made to bhoycott their own clubs games.
It doesn't matter what the panel are experienced in, the Private Members Club operate by their own rules, just like SFA, UEFA and FIFA. Look what happens if a club takes any of them to a superior court.
So when the panel members of the Private Members Club refer to case law, it is irrelevant, it is cosmetic to make it look good, a bit of credit. Case law was made in court cases and tribunals, not Private Members Clubs hearings.

Why did Souness receive an EBT payment long after he left Rangers and was managing another club?
Boumsong private sweetener? And tax free?
Souness should be interviewed by the English and Scottish Football Associations on this matter. If found guilty of wrongdoing he should be banned, like Whyte, of being involved in Association football.

#9/5... Do you listen to yourself? You go on and say that the poster is wrong because the London police was investigating transfer corruption and not ebts. Well the very thought of the police looking into transfer corruption means that they had something to go by so your club was doing something wrong to grant the investigation was it not? With this add to the ebts and you still think your club has done nothing wrong? Even though the proof is out there and all ppl know except yous, but you do know and you just prefer to say it was everyone else that wants a kick at us and a witch hunt. Is that because your too hurt by your so called legends that ended your club?

These 3guys will make judgement on evidence put b4 them by the SPL and Celtics lawyers (Harper) when ever has such a emotional case been judged on material put b4 them with no redress apart from appealing to the Sfa, it's the most usurp situation, which will regardless of what the SPL tried to force Rangers into as a acceptance for the footballing licence will end up in a civil court, the SPL may well have tried to tie the football clubs hand but there is a lot of people who have a financial stake in Rangers and quite rightly they will defend there investment

Agree3 Disagree5

Correct EBT payment was declared to SPL.

e.g EBT Trust payment £5,000,000

But this fine if to directors, management... its only this includes players, and therefore needed to be declared per player....

This did not happen, so there is clear case of hidding details of payments to players from SPL.. which is the issue.

I wish people would get the facts right on EBTs, HMRC are clamping down on them all, yes they are legal if executed correctly, but rangers did not use them correctly. You have to be an employee, but most importantly it must not be used as income. Double contracts which is basically employment contracts is not just being investigated by sfa / spl but also HMRC and if proven there is no doubt it has been tax evasion, may sound strong words, and you bears will probably disagree, but in law that is the facts. jj

Agree3 Disagree1

Most of the above is a load of claptrap. The op is saying the courts should run football. This is gross ignorance. International football would be impossible.
The sfa panel will sit in judgement of the rules as agreed and signed up to by all clubs including yours. If you dont like that your club can resign from the Association and go back to where you were a few weeks ago, non-existent. Youve got a 'world record' the most bullsh1t ever produced by the supporters of a single club and you just broke your own old record on that one.

Agree3 Disagree2

It amazes me how people who post on here seem to know exactly what went on with the EBTs and are tax experts. Unless you were directly involved in the running of Rangers at that time and were privy to what went on then you don't know what actually went on. All that some people are basing their verdict on is what has been reported in the media. The question of the non payment of tax through the EBTs is clearly not as straight forward as many people seem to think as we would have already had a decision by now. The fact it's taken this long then surely that tells any sensible person that's it's a very complex situation. The SPL investigation into the double contracts has to say the least flawed. Why during their investigation did they not bother to contact Murray? Surely he would be the first person to contact regarding the contracts as he was responsible for them. He as owner of the club stands accused of the double contracts yet the SPL didn't think to speak to him about them. Shows that the SPL aren't interested to being balanced and want blood

Agree1 Disagree2

@16: the owner/chairman etc. of a company represents that company, or club in this instance, so it all comes as a package. Therefore, the club/company has to bear the brunt. That's how it works so suck it up and just accept it instead of moaning about it.

Agree2 Disagree0

@17. Maybe if people stopped ranting on about it, then maybe the gers fans would stop moaning about it. Just a thought.

Agree1 Disagree1

#7 - the players were registered correctly - there was no mis-registration - the argument is around payment, nothing to do with registration

Agree2 Disagree0

@19: if there were dual contracts then they weren't registered correctly and were ineligible to play.

Agree1 Disagree0

#20 - you are wrong - the players registration is a standard form that is submitted with the SFA that permits a player to play for that club and that club only - there is no issue with this - the issue is with the SPL and their ruling that all players earnings should be disclosed - absolutely nothing to do with registration and players eligibility to play - I know this doesn't suit your agenda but it's factualnIm afraid

Well it looks like we will be finding out next week if Sir David Murray ran RFC above board or not. I hope we don not get titles stripped. If we do i hoe Sir David gets his knighthood stripped and deemed unfit to be a Director of any business.

Believable18 Unbelievable2

Unlikely, as his Knighthood was nothing to do with his association with the club.

Agree7 Disagree13

I want Murray jailed and to share a cell in Barlinnie with Whyte!

Agree18 Disagree4

Murrays knighthood has everything to do with EBTs and Rangers. He received the knighthood ""for services to business in Scotland""" at the time his empire was running on crippling indebtedness to BOS and he was executing offshore tax evasion schemes depriving us the taxpayer, who ultimately bestowed the knighthood on him!! Strip it now!

Agree14 Disagree5

We don't need next week to tell us that. The dogs in the street know that.

Agree12 Disagree0

1)

What were Rangers somehow not a business when Murray was in charge?

BARNEY BEAR

PS. I don't think we'll learn anything this week.

Agree11 Disagree0

Kneeling and being dubbed for services to business in Scotland what a joke.... Ultimately leading to liquidation.
Ultimately liquidate the knighthood.
Liquidate the knighthood!
Liquidate the knighthood!

Agree6 Disagree3

1.) Unlikely, as his Knighthood was nothing to do with his association with the club.

He received a knighthood for 'services to business'. Given RFC 2012 are/were a business that he potentially illegally avoided tax then of course he should be stripped of his knighthood.

Agree9 Disagree1

Find it funny how you fans can say that dm deserves to be have his knight hood stripped but the club should not be punished in any way. So my question is now that you have talked about dm do you still think it is all spl/sfa/Celtic/uefa/FIFA/media and what ever else you can think of is having a kick at you and is just out to get you?

Agree9 Disagree0

You have to think that murray used EBTs within murray international also

Agree4 Disagree0

So much lies - Rangers didn't illegally evade tax payment - whilst I dont agree with its use the EBT avoidance scheme is perfectly legal.

Agree1 Disagree1

#10: The EBTs where not executed properly, it works as an non repaying loan, whereas RFC have alleged double contracts, which in the eyes of the law is an employment contracts which is taxable, and there is also the fact that some non employees received them too, which is taxable. Meme

please correct me if i,m wrong but we got a transfer ban on the 1st sept 2012 for 1 year so it runs out 1st sept 2013 doesnt the transfer window shut on the 2nd of sept next year just saying cause that means we have 1 day to sign all the players we need so we dont have to wait until the jan transfer window

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Or the ban is for two windows. Shouldn't matter anyway as the policy seem to be signing free agents - Templeton aside - so that can continue outside the window next September.

Agree2 Disagree1

Not allowed to sign players in the summer transfer window even though it ends on the 2nd of September however I would expect a few free agents will be signed once the ban is lifted

Agree1 Disagree3

I think the SFA will argue that the window is only extended till the 2nd to allow teams who were eligible to make transfers until the 31st to have the paperwork completed. And as Rangers are not eligible to make transfers before the 31st then they won't accept them.
