Pretty happy with the appointment of JJ. I reckon the decision to appoint another foreigner is no mistake. His English is fantastic as I recall him commentating on Rangers TV recently and I honestly think another reason he was appointed is maybe his ability or knowledge to scout foreign (Scandanavia in particular) talent.

If we appointed the likes of McLeish and Ferguson or Rae I think they would have had limited knowledge of the European market never mind further afield. Granted Big Eck had a few jobs abroad in Belgium and Egypt but with Pedro and JJ I would hope it brings a broader range of contacts in the likes of South America, Portugal and Scandanavia at least.

If we're being honest young foreign youth is where the money is to be made and the board seem well aware of this. Just take a look at that mob across the city n the money they've made from Van Dijk and Wanyama.

Thoughts?

10 Apr 2017 19:11:19
I thought that's the DOFs job.

10 Apr 2017 21:12:37
He's not been appointed as a scout. Scouts, by the very nature of the term, can do their job in any country no matter their own nationality.

09 Apr 2017 20:49:49
Wonderful result for the Teddy Bears today! Well done pedro and the staff. Surprised about JJ getting no 3 job esp wi a lot of bears including masel thinking Rae or ferguson would get it. JJ will do us fine. Pedro putting his own stamp on it. Massive pressure on us to win today as they wuda happily took a draw. Onwards and upwards Bears! FIRB.

09 Apr 2017 22:36:17
Pedro has already achieved something Warburton couldn't in beating a top 4 team away from home today. Hopefully its a sign of things to come. Brilliant.

09 Apr 2017 23:15:30
Can understand Caixinha having reservations over Miller due to his age BUT he merits a place as a squad player! If we get rid of Waghorn and jurys still out with Dodoo as he hasn't really been given a chance. Still need to bring in another finisher tho
had high hopes for Garner still do BUT we will need a cull that could include him

10 Apr 2017 11:43:30
Fed up with this jurys still out. What more does the lad dodoo need to do. He's basically a goal a game striker.

10 Apr 2017 20:29:02
If Miller re-signs he won't be a squad player. That's what everybody thought this season, and next season he'll still be a pick, no matter what club he's at. Keep Kenny.

10 Apr 2017 21:14:07
He's scored 4 in 14 how is that a goal a game? He came on against celtic and actually ran away from the ball. 1 goal doesn't make him a superstar.

10 Apr 2017 21:18:10
i hoped garner would turn into a good player but his antics bring same to our club faining a headbut i hated when lafferty did it and hate it just as much now all garner does is push people and dive head isn't in the right place to score goals which is where a strikers head should be but all he seems to think about is throwing himself about i say get shot of him

10 Apr 2017 21:59:18
He has still only got 7 goals this year, not good enough.

09 Apr 2017 19:43:51
Good result today but the players need put as much effort in against partick no good beating aberdeen then slipping up.
Doodoo showed today exactly why he should be in the team and is good enough to play for rangers. kenny miller deserves new deal but maybe bring him more of the bench next season.
waghorn and garner should be sold in the summer if there is takers for them both.

09 Apr 2017 20:47:00
Joe garner is absolutely murder runs about like a headless chicken and couldn't score in a brothel, and waggy my gran could a run faster and she's been dead for 10 years both need to be shown the door with a few others

10 Apr 2017 01:33:42
Garner seems more interested in trying to prove that he's a hard man when he should just concentrate on getting jis head down and helping the team. He's got a great leap and is good at winning headers but getting a yellow after 3 mins is totalling letting the team down. Plus the fact it was a complete embarrasment.

10 Apr 2017 07:47:27
Problem is who would buy either? Would probably have to take a big loss on Garner and give Waghorn a free. 2 truly average players and not what we need

10 Apr 2017 11:21:58
Garner a trying to be a hardman was dispelled in 3 minutes yesterday with that ludicrous flop to the ground like an effin pansy (probably worse than laffertys effort! )! I would honestly have taken him off there and then! absolutely embarrassing! almost as embarrassing as his inability to hit the net or even display something that contributes towards the game!

Give me Dodoo any day of the week over that clown!

10 Apr 2017 21:17:16
No way do we let Waghorn go on. Free! We will get dosh for him. He has shown he can score. We need every penny we can bring in. Let Garner go for £1.5m he has proved himself in England just hasn't shown it with us

09 Apr 2017 19:10:16
We beat the sheep 3-0 and there's still negativity I. e mangers no good, and players aren't good enough!
Being from Aberdeen and being named greig mickinnon Baxter . I've had my share of stick fae the sheep, me myself applaud the players and manager .
Judge the manager next year if he gets the funds that's needed .
for me man of the match was big Wes and of course superman kenny miller .

09 Apr 2017 19:30:03
No matter the result today the league table tells you that a lot of the players aren't good enough. If you think they are then sadly your delusional

09 Apr 2017 20:52:51
Bengy25, the result today tells you that some of the players are good enough!

You are clearly delusional if you cannot pick out any positives in a 3-0 win.

09 Apr 2017 21:50:12
Br65. We won today and I'm glad however let's be honest we are far from being good enough . You'd keep 3 players tops and sell the rest if we could. We are that average . sad but true.

10 Apr 2017 07:49:53
Djab

Your wasting your time trying to reason with BR65 he clearly thinks everything is fine after 1 result and obviously is unaware that being 35 points behind Celtic tells you that there is something far wrong with our team

10 Apr 2017 08:19:13
I think your all great.

10 Apr 2017 08:41:56
there is honestly no point at all comparing ourselves with Celtic based upon points difference. Celtic are outstanding this year, Rodgers has them playing the way they should be. Their financial power dwarves our own, We should be Second, but we can blame Warburton for that.

10 Apr 2017 10:05:21
Onlyshowaround

We shouldn't be 35 points behind them and it's clear a lot of the players aren't good enough. Sorry but if you genuinely think Rangers aren't measured against Celtic then your being very naive. Rightly or wrongly that's the way it is here and it willl only intensivfy the closer they get to 10 in a row. However if your happy with 4 second place finishes for the next 4 years that's up to you

10 Apr 2017 11:11:26
Correct Bengy we Shouldn't be 35 points behind them. We should be a lot closer to them with the budget we have, again blame the breadman. However there isn't much point comparing ourselves with Celtic right now, we should be comparing ourselves with Aberdeen as they are the team we should be beating comfortably to 2nd.

11 Apr 2017 10:37:43
No disrespect to Aberdeen but our target has to be to overcome Celtic! At the end of the day being in Celtic's shadow is not acceptable if you are a Rangers supporter and the thought of that lot winning 10 in a row fills me with dread! We quite simply need to get back to where we belong and that is at the top of the league!

09 Apr 2017 17:07:46
More negative comments on here? Why thr hell are we judging caixinha already? He has inherited a dreadful squad from a clueless manager. Yes the performances against motherwell and kille were terrible but would it of been any better under Warburton? I think a real positive is the fact we've kept 3 clean sheets out of 4 since he's came in. Bates will get better and I'm really impressed with Beerman. Wes was excellent again today. We are looking much better at the back and come the summer we will strengthen. Give the guy some time. A 3-0 win at the sheep would never of happened under Warburton. Good result today and a confidence boost for the semi. Let's look forward and not back!

09 Apr 2017 20:00:44
Pedro said he could see Aberdeen were pushing their full backs further up the pitch so he countered it with the subs and happily it paid off, that's good to see, a manager making a change that comes off.

09 Apr 2017 20:32:13
That's 2 games that Miller and dodoo have linked up well and produced the goods Partick away and today. Think we should start with them up front next game. If waghorns contract up at end of season I would let him go you couldn't depend on him to take chances.

09 Apr 2017 23:03:57
Waghorn still has a year left but I do think some clubs in England will take him so I'd say he definitely needs sold in the summer as he not good enough and could walk for free the season after so worth getting rid now what ever we get offered for him will do me.

09 Apr 2017 16:59:12
personal opinion - nothing more.

Pedro will be gone by Xmas. He is nothing more than a hot air balloon, who still thinks he is in a bullring.
He has already started the sensation seeking tactics befitting to a matador and NOT a football club manager.

My BIG concern over him is that our board picked him, above managers who are well known and have good track records. I would love to be wrong.

09 Apr 2017 17:03:57
I'd love to know what managers you are talking about! I didn't see any EPL Managers interviewed, or any top Bundesliga orItalian managers, who would you have preferred? McCoist or Barry Ferguson. Maybe you are fishing or maybe just talking sh! t

09 Apr 2017 17:06:42
@weebill - can you confirm the manager's with the proven track records as I can't remember any stand outs?

09 Apr 2017 18:22:21
Good to see that positive mental attitude, wee bill. Your unwavering support is a great beacon to your fellow supporters, keep it up

09 Apr 2017 20:00:42
This is exactly the type of manager we need who is not afraid to make changes and once he brings his own players who buy into his training methods we will see a much better rangers side than what warburton assembled as long as board back him with funds all players linked so far are free agents again.

10 Apr 2017 00:55:33
Maybe a matador attitude is what's required at times as opposed to the bull or is it bile you just produced wee bill

09 Apr 2017 16:16:59
The thing with Dodoo is, he looks like a natural finisher however his all round game needs to improve. Ie. Holding the ball up and his 1st touch. However if we can get better players in who will create more chances then I think he could score plenty. Miller must surely be offered a new contract . A model professional.

09 Apr 2017 20:00:43
He has pace and skill, something waghorn and garner lack plus he is a far better finisher

09 Apr 2017 15:19:13
Foderingham and Wilson were particularly good IMO today. What a difference it makes to our entire defence when there's no emphasis on playing the ball out from the back. Foderingham would go long all day today and from there our defence has the play in front and for the first time in a long time I felt we were more than capable of keeping a clean sheet. Bates was shaky at times but at other times his positioning was really good, winning important headers and making one particular block from a cut back in the second half. Beerman looks good on the ball and pacey, could even see him moving up the park when Wallace is fit. Toral played well in the sitting midfield role, offers much more than Halliday ever will. Millers finish was tremendous for his first and the second was well finished after a good bit of pressing by him and Dodoo. Really good goal for Dodoo too, hope the lad gets a run in the team to see what he's got to offer. The scoreline flattered us but nevertheless what a result, another clean sheet and lots of positives.

One negative for me is Garner. He's more hassle than he's worth. Sure we all love a centre forward who likes a physical battle but his decision making is atrocious and his behaviour is bordering on Saturday morning amateur league stuff. Flying into tackles like against Kilmarnock midweek and his carry on with Ryan Jack today was embarrassing.

09 Apr 2017 17:11:23
J1985

Thought Waghorn was atrocious too today. Missed another 2 sitters and contributed nothing waste of a jersey

09 Apr 2017 17:42:07
I don't think anyone is atrocious. its just pure inconsistency!
it works when we do the simple things on the pitch and some of the players need to start believing that they are better than they are playing recently

09 Apr 2017 19:31:56
Blueman888

Do you think Waghorn is the answer? Do you think he is good enough?

09 Apr 2017 19:11:49
Good post j1985!, I've said for months on here that kenny miller is a total thoroughbred and great role model professional, who without doubt, deserves another 1 year deal with rangers, for next season! He's also great at captain as he's very vocal and leads by example! He's a big game player of that there's no doubt! He scores in big, important games!

A wee message to CEE who continually slates kenny miller on here! What the hell are you watching mate? He'll be rangers player of the year this season, rightly so and he certainly got my vote! I also think wes foderingham and clint hill have also acquitted themselves very well for us this season! Big wes was once again superb for us against the sheep today, he's a superb shot stopper and deserves a lot more praise than he receives! Maybe its time to give joe dodoo a run in the team beside the evergreen (pardon the word) kenny miller!

09 Apr 2017 19:12:50
Got to agree with garner, feared a red was coming after that shocking dive. Couldn't hit a barn door! Wilson was a rock today. foddy class

09 Apr 2017 19:18:56
Great result today, a bit of a surprise to be honest, it can only boost confidence. Don't mean to be downbeat but I've posted on hear before regarding Garner. I'm not a fan, his priority is to score goals not pick up yellow cards thus putting pressure on himself and the team. I feel £1.8 million could of been spent more wisely. He and Waghorn should be embarrassed by their displays and should look up to the ageing Kenny Miller. On a positive note Beerman, Bates and Dodoo should be proud.

09 Apr 2017 20:00:58
Gor

Spot on mate both Garner and Waghorn are awful and not what we need. Both contribute next to nothing and Garner is a red card waiting to happen

09 Apr 2017 20:00:43
Dodoo should be given the chance as waghorn and garner are a waste of space. and is it a coincidence that Hyndman was a standout for murty, but bin crap for caixhina.

09 Apr 2017 21:16:11
Bengy25 not saying waggy is the answer or good/ not good enough, the same with garner.
man management with both these guys will sort out the problems and weakness

i don't think personaly these guys fit the system that Caixinha is playing but they can do better

dodoo looks a better fit with miller but he need games, bates beerman, dodoo, windass will thrive with the manager giving them game time

10 Apr 2017 11:27:03
J1985! what a cracking post, that summed the game (and Garner) up perfectly for me!

09 Apr 2017 15:04:57
Dodoo never given a fair crack of the whip by the breadman, let's hope Pedro can see something in him and gives him a chance, must have impressed today,

09 Apr 2017 16:04:58
I would play dodoo over garner every day of the week. One plays football the other just runs about causing mayhem

09 Apr 2017 19:04:31
Dodoo is a natural, play him and we will get goals. Good also to see young Bates and Beerman come thru without conceding.

09 Apr 2017 19:17:34
God dodo has one descent cameo and now he is the best in scotland

09 Apr 2017 20:30:21
Sorry Cee that's an over reaction. It's actually his second decent cameo (first one v. Thistle) but that's more of a sign of him being ignored a lot of the time. By the way who on here suggested he's the best in Scotland?

09 Apr 2017 20:31:17
I think he has had two decent cameos the other one was the away match v Partick Thistle.
If given the chance to feature regularly Dodoo will score goals as in my opinion he is a natural finisher.

09 Apr 2017 20:42:24
cee, Miller will be the rangers player of the year this season! Total thoroughbred and top professional, big game player who scores important goals in THE BIG games! Has to get another 1 year deal? We're fortunate to have him!

09 Apr 2017 14:23:24
After the first half performance I would say deserve three goals, based on the heart in mouth defending I'd also say we earned that win! 👏 👏 ☺

Always good to beat that lot.

09 Apr 2017 14:34:48
I'm delighted with the score but 3-0 flattered us.

09 Apr 2017 14:37:10
Think 3 goals flattered . It was a good feisty game . Fod played well to keep yous in it till yous got the goals . Fair play though . More grit, fight and determination shown today to get the result rafbob! Composure in front of goal is needed .

Surely Kenny deserves another season / coaching role after that

09 Apr 2017 14:40:55
we played better than that at the start of the season and lost 2.1.
Goals change games and KM's first changed that game. Bates was nervous but that has to be expected, he was good in the air. Bates is a work in progress. Team attitude was first class.

09 Apr 2017 14:45:45
I think Dodoo derveses a shot in the first team. Either up front instead of Garner or on the left instead of McKay.

09 Apr 2017 14:51:09
Got to say that Wilson is playing his socks off. Being sandwiched between 2 young lads and he is bossing it for me. Very happy with that! Beerman looked good again vs a very serious threat and Bates held up well. dodoo played very well getting himself about and hopefully replaces Garner as he actually scores and passes too! I actually hate watching Garner now, he's pitiful and not rangers class for me. Miller again showing that hard work and endeavor is what's required. Midfield. I just don't know about them in all honesty, they just don't seem to offer much at all. A wee bit more bite but lacking any cutting edge, although I don't know if that is due to having waggie and Garner. They are completely useless

09 Apr 2017 14:56:22
That's a pretty fair statement delbhoy. If Waghorn was on form he would have scored in the first half.

09 Apr 2017 15:07:23
Beerman has filled wallaces boots imo give him game time till the end of the season, can't understand why warbs didn't give dodoo a chance after the thistle game, better class than waggy and garner

09 Apr 2017 15:09:22
Rafbob

Waghorn is useless and needs to be dropped Dodoo did more in 10 mins than he did 80 mins. Continually misses sitters and brings nothing to the team

09 Apr 2017 15:49:29
Rafbob it seems in the final 3rd the team panic under pressure. No one doubts garners commitment! His decision making is another topic . Miller has stepped up to the plate time n time again . At 70 minutes? Your team. may have crumbled / held for a draw before . Yous rode the storm n got a good result . The close season will be crucial mate .

09 Apr 2017 16:50:11
Could've been about 6 to be fair but i'll take 3

09 Apr 2017 16:52:32
Delighted for the guys. A big well done to everybody, especially the young lads who came in and did well. Thought Wes, Danny and wee Holty were outstanding. Surely Joe Dodoo deserves a run after the way he finished. So unlucky not to get 2. And what a strike from Kenny Miller! Brilliant result.

09 Apr 2017 12:49:15
See mckays's been dropped the day. Can see him getting punted in the summer. Apparently he's been very vocal about Pedro's methods. Greeting about days off and lack of a summer holiday.

09 Apr 2017 13:08:16
Get shot of him he's too lightweight for out football and a rubbish bag in the tackle

09 Apr 2017 16:01:08
Good to see Pedro has seen what we have seen all season and not even put him on from bench. To lightweight with little end product as McCann said pre match 3 assists all season very poor return for a supposed creative winger.

09 Apr 2017 16:18:08
I recon he's about the same size as McCann just a pity he doesn't have the same heart

09 Apr 2017 16:49:05
Well where did that come from Bears?

09 Apr 2017 19:21:30
Just a pity mccann didn't have half his ability.

09 Apr 2017 21:24:10
Eh? Mccann didn't have half his ability? You do know there talking about Neil and not Fergus don't you?
