what is craig white doing. weve missed out on nearlyy all the players we have gone for. im so embarassed to be a rangers fan. can anyone remember this stuff happening when martin bain was here?

Believable4 Unbelievable4

That man stole from the club, he had no regard for finance, don't defend him.

Agree0 Disagree0

If your embarrassed to be a rangers supporter a hope you don't go to ibrox again wee don't need supporters like you putting our club down if you want to change your attitude about the gers fine but if not wee don't want people who not gonna support our club
campbell

Agree0 Disagree0

The same martin bain that gave himself a over 100k pay rise when rangers were on theyre arse

Agree0 Disagree0

I have never been embarassed to be a RANGERS SUPPORTER because thats what I am a SUPPORTER who follows the team through good times and bad times and let me tell u this, this is not bad times because we r signing players where the last few seasons we were lucky to hold on 2 players having 2 sell players at stupid prices 2 keep the bank happy SIR WALTER was a victim of his own success and as for for martin bain don't start me on him I said last night on here I was just back from holiday guess who I seen at glasgow airport all nice and tanned from the money the s**tehawk plundered from our club 30% wage rise to get him on a par with peter liewell we don't give a f*** about the dark side so piss off and hide in a corner if u r so embarassed because we don't want u at IBROX with your greetin faced attitude

With Matt McKay on the way hopefully it will be the first of at least 4 or 5 players that we desperately need.

In defence we need another centre half. CARLOS CUELLAR - No closer may be better suited looking elsewhere.
ROLAND JUHASZ - Would be good signing but wouldn't pay over £3million.
Other options;
ANDRE BIKEY - Available for £1million from Burnley.
CHRISTOPHE BERRA - Not first choice but good enough for SPL, £2-2.5million.

In midfield;
NIKOLA POKRIVAC - Quality player from Salzburg. Bit of everything very creative and has steel. £2million tops.
ALEXEI EREMENKO- We all witnessed how good he was be a bargain at £500k.
SAMMY CLINGAN - Currently with cash strapped Coventry would be available for ander/around £1million.
CHRIS COHEN - Good versatility but has great left foot would be decent signing. £2million tops.
Wingers, with Bedoya signing in January we only need 1 permanent signing and a player on loan;
THOMAS ENEVOLDSEN - Danish international plays for Groningen, cost £1.5million.
PETER WHITTINGHAM - Surprised no Premiership team has made a move for him much underrated capable of chipping in with goals too. Around£2.5million.
VLADIMIR WEISS - Although Mancini wants to send him abroad if he is yet to move near deadline it wouldn't surprise me if he returned on loan.
GAEL KAKUTA - Promising young talent could come on loan if AVB permitted it.

Obviously a striker is required;
TIM MATAVZ - Amazing potential almost signed for Napoli would cost an arm and a leg but has undoubted quality. Probabaly close to £4million.
NICKY MAYNARD - Likely to leave BristolC ity, very fast and sharp striker would score for fun in SPL. £2-3million.
HENRI BIENVENU - Plays for Young Boys was impressive last season against Spurs in CL and in Europa League think he could develope at Ibrox. Cost around £2million.
JAMIE MURPHY - Great potential cost around £1million.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

F*** me mate..... if you're not already an agent, i think you should start tomorrow.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice to see some fellow bears putting some research in and showing their commitment to the club but, honestly, i feel that when people do this it can lead to misinterpretation, rumours, and then disappointment when they move else where. Sorry for being a bit downbeat. M

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people keep quoting Eremenko he wants £40k a week to steep for both sides of old firm

Agree0 Disagree0

Great list would love to see bikey.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol. Wish I was an agent mate be rolling it in Agree with second reply it's been really disappointing and frustrating so far but I think that all the players I listed are realistic targets and would improve us quite consdierably. Eremenko, £40k p/w? If that's true then theres no chance he's coming. Yeah, Bikey is similiar to Bougherra imo except not as likely to think he's a right winger.

Ed can you do all us gers fans a favour and let everyone know that a player can PASS a medical at the club Whilst being injured. The medical is to assess the player and his condition, and as long as the club doctor believes he will overcome the injury in a desired period of time that can be discussed between the manager and the club then the player can pass his medical whilst being injured. Thanks ED {Ed003's Note - No need you've just done it}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

We can write all the rumours we want regarding this guy. The fact of the matter is he won't be coming to us. He had a cracking tournament in the Copa America and his stock will be high at the moment. Too costly for tighty Whytey.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

He doesn't seem to be showing any sort of desire to sign for us so far. Maybe he's sitting tight until the end of the window and picking up a bigger wage with Villa while he's injured? Doubt it though

It amazes me that yesterday a club spokesman for Anderlecht was saying that the two clubs were close to a deal, and now they are stating on STV that the latest bid is Euro 1 million too low, and Rangers shouldn't expect to get players on the cheap. Firstly, let's hope they get what they deserve, especially after not living up to an agreement with the player, but what should we believe. The one thing that is certain about this transfer window is that you don't know who to trust. On a positive note Matt McKay looks like he can do a job.

Anderlecht say Rangers can't expect to sign one of their best players on the cheap, having rejected the Glasgow club's third transfer offer for Roland Juhasz.

After negotiations on Monday, the Belgian side turned down Rangers’ latest bid, which STV understands stood in the region of three million euros (£2,620,000).

Anderlecht though have stood firm in requesting four million euros (£3,493,000) for the 28-year-old, who signed a new contract last year to keep him at the club until 2014.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

He only signed it on the basis that if the right offer came in for him the club would accept it and now anderlecht have gone back on their word apparently after rangers met the price juhazs agreed with them

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Cuellar is injured until october

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure Cuellar would make it but, he should be ready about september time (hope we get him), McKay would require a work permit on appeal as he is not from a country in the EU, looks like Juhasz was meant to be signed but Andeleicht broke their promise to him and the move seems to have broken down. Veroehk was meant to sign for forest but got homesick apparently so looks like hes staying in holland. Not sure where we're at with other targets but i hope that answers your question.

Australian international Matt McKay could face Inverness on Saturday. The midfielder passed a medical at Murray Park and could be ready to at least be in the squad for Saturday.

McKay was at Murray Park on Sunday before joining up with his Australia for the international against Wales tomorrow night. The £320,000 deal is set to go through subject to a work permit.

But work permit should not prove to be a problem, and the former team mate of Craig Moore and Charlie Miller should join up with his new team mates ahead of the trip to Inverness this weekend.

Hi guy's

Was leaving the Chelsea game on sat and managed to have a word with Gordon Smith on edminston drive.

Now i'm not surprised by this at all, but a young supporter asked if we were signing anyone and Mr Smith said the club hope to announce a signing on monday.

I don't like how our transfer business has been conducted in the media however i feel that the club could never have won anyway, as under a new owner and the bad press over the initial takeover the club and new owner have to be seen to be doing something and therefore need the media. but it all looks ugly to me.

Rangers will be raiding an Italian club for one or two players out with Milan and inter, Palermo have received a big cheque for Pastore and will look to move a few players on and strengthening a few areas paving the way for Dorian's ex buddies to join Rangers. this is from within ibrox

Heaven knows, Bain and the old regime were not perfect, but he and Walter would have been straight on to our ex-Dutch legends, Arthur, Gio and the De Boers, to explain to young Verhooek that Glasgow is not Nottingham and that Rangers are not Forest. Our farcically inept tranfer policy has already cost us £15 million and a host of game-changing players. I fear the lack of commercial gravitas at the helm will do more damage to our club's standing and chances of honours this season. No sane suppurter would advocate financial recklessness, but we could still punch above our weight and lure classier players to Ibrox if our overtures carried a bit of drive, charisma, and imagination. We still have a great club to sell but mediocrities, with no financial leeway, are sadly in charge of the selling. Like all of us, I idolise Ally, but I can see him walking away from these current horrors, unless I read this wrongly and he is part of the problem. I also suspect that the loss of the Hungarian boy is being spuriously spun and that our crazy false economy dealing will eventually be exposed as the reason. How I would love to be proved wrong and find the critically needed 4 new (class) players signed before the window closes. Mr. Whyte, in whom we had rightly invested great hope and trust, will not be lightly forgiven if he continues to betray his promises and starve the club of at least a smattering of talent.

Name me a player even on a par with Jelavic? A keeper as good as Shagger? A more promising left back in scotland than wallace? A right back that contributed 14/15 goals in a season, A central midfielder as good as davis? In Scotland Why are we worrying about what we haven't got rather than being pleased with what we have? Ortiz, wallace, Goian and Bartley have been added to a squad of champions so we are already in a stronger position than last season. Fair enough if we can manage another striker like murphy and a centre half like cuellar/juharz then great but it won't be the end of the world if we don't. We'll have a good run in Europa League and win the league by about 6 points. In ally we trust.

No further talks have taken place on Tuesday to revive the transfer deal and, following Rangers’ failed attempt, Anderlecht made their position over the defender clear to STV.

“Our position is simple,” a spokesperson outlined. “They [Rangers] didn’t meet the price we set.

“You can’t have top players for little money. At this moment, the deal is dead.

“It’s a quite simple equation regarding the price. There is a price we have set which Rangers have not matched.”

After the collapse of the deal on Monday night, Juhasz’s agent Vladan Filipovic launched an attack on Anderlecht’s board of directors and accused of them of going back on their word to let the defender leave.

“We are very disappointed in the management at Anderlecht, including Herman van Holsbeeck [general manager],” Filipovic told nemzetisport.hu. “I know in football anything can happen but I did not expect this.

“When Roland extended his contract a year ago, Anderlecht agreed verbally they would sell him if a certain offer came in. Unfortunately this was not given in writing, but we trusted them.

“Rangers have offered this amount now but Anderlecht have said no. I understand they do not want to lose Roland, it is understandable, but a year ago they promised he could leave for an appropriate offer."

Barry Ferguson pulled out of every Scotland friendly with an injury but there he was in a rangers jersey the following week. And before any1 starts im not knockin Ferguson for it. Im glad Commons has pulled out, if I had my way no Celtic player would be playin for Scotland.

I always thought him a money hungry a**ehole with idea`s well above his station he wasnt that good or he`d of moved to a top club, not an oil fuelled footballing backwater-happy he`s gone his conduct was always questionable

Agree0 Disagree0

He wasn't offered a peanuts contract, hewas offered exactly the same terms as his previous contract. I would guess that wasn't exactly high maybe 10-15k but certainly not peanuts. What had 'broken his heart' was that Whitty was offered a 5 year contract at about 25k while he himself a 2 year one. I can see where he is coming from in this... i just wonder why we didn't negotiate further?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would you offer him a 5 year contract when at the end of the past 3 seasons he desires to leave for a BIGGER club, then when no one comes in he says im willing to stay another year. hes been waering a sell me quick hat for the last 2 seasons.did well but can be replaced

Our position is simple, a spokesperson outlined. They [Rangers] didnt meet the price we set.

You cant have top players for little money. At this moment, the deal is dead.

Its a quite simple equation regarding the price. There is a price we have set which Rangers have not matched.

This is from Anderlecht board, seems we are still f***ing about in regards to offers for players.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

They are covering themselves, the players agent siad 200,00 was trhe difference. Anderlecht need to save face after selling the boy to Chelsea

McGregor
Goian, Cuellar, Papac
Whitty, Davis, Bartley( just infront of CBs), Bedoya, Wallace/Ortiz
Niasmith, Jelavic.
Would be happy with that, its just there's not much depth on the bench

I've been really disheartened today reading all the posts on how Super Ally and Mr Whyte have let Rangers down, is it just me or am I seeing things differently? Have we not made signings to date? Answer, yes we have. Would we have been able to make these signings if Mr Whyte hadn't bought our illustrious club? Answer, no we wouldn't. And recently we have had quite a sizeable bid which met the selling clubs valuation, rejected, which in my mind has proven that the money is there for the right player at the right price, yes? Should we allow these clubs bully us into giving more? Hell no.

As for Super Ally, this man is Rangers through and through, and dont be fooled by his laid back and jokerish demeanor, this guy has been No.2 to the very best in the game (Sir Walter), and dont think for 1 second he hasn't learned anything. all you doubters will be eating your words come end of the season.

Verhoek Not Signed For Forest SSN

Forest leapt to the front of the queue when they had a bid accepted by Den Haag, but the Eredivisie outfit now claim that Verhoek will be remaining with them.

A statement released on their official website read: "After one day in England, Wesley Verhoek has decided that Nottingham Forest was not the adventure he thought it would be.

"He has given up on a foreign move and is hoping to stay in Holland, preferably with ADO Den Haag.

"After spending the last seven years with the club, his ties to the club are stronger than he first thought.

"The club is set to hold further discussions with him about his current situation and the future."

The following has been posted on the BBC website.

"Nottingham Forest's attempt to sign ADO Den Haag winger Wesley Verhoek seems certain to end in failure.

There has been no comment from Forest but a statement on the Den Haag website suggests the deal is off."

I'm hoping this could open the door for Rangers. This is exactly the type of player we need.

Don't doubt you're a true blue but this wont happen mate. Trust me, in no way should we be thinking that Whyte isn't willing to put money into the club. 1. He took on our debt... thats about £18m, and he wouldn't have done that if it meant that he would have to sell our best player to pay that debt and be left with a team of little value. 2. He's a supporter - who of you would pay that much money for the club you love if you could? i think some of us would - but if it was for a team you didn't support (we'll say some European team)... would you do it? no. 3. He's spent money on a few signings already and is putting 3m into renovating Ibrox (something that does not obviously turn a profit) suggesting he sees himself as being incharge for a long time. We have no reason to fear for the club yet, we just have a JUSTIFIED reluctance to over pay for players.

Verhoek has pulled out of the Forest bid, for apparent personal reasons.

We should try and atleast speak to him. and leave it up to the player. A bid of 2million is enough.

Cuellar will sign before the transfer window. He is currently getting 40k for doing nothing, if he signed now he would be getting 20k for doing nothing. What one would you choose?

McKay will sign after the international game against Wales. Not sure what to make of him. A 28 year old Australian, who has been in Australia all his career, looks similar to what we already have. Not an out and out winger.

A striker is also a must. Rhys Murphy could sign, also Rafael Pernao (spelling) from chelsea is a potential loan signing. Don't know much about these two players but a Brazilian in the SPL? This is what i've heard from my sources in London.

The boy from Groningen would be a fantastic signing, but if we get verhoek i can't see us signing this guy aswell.

A few more loan signings towards the end of the window. and i wouldn't rule out Wiess just yet

Can't believe the cheek of Anderlecht after recieving the cash from chelsea to cancel the move for Jahusz (Over 200K euros). The big lad seems to have it in his heart to play for the Gers for his dream move to the EPL. Apparently according to his agent he played through injury with help of a pain killing injection.
This is the type of Sh*te Rangers are up against, I don't think Whyte and McCoist are to blame for this one.

Also quite like the look of the Lad from Oz, has the looks of Claudio Reyna about him,

Also would love to see Matavz (previous rumour this morning) but I am sure the quotes for him were around the £4-£5m mark when Napoli were interested and a stumbling block was personel terms (Don't know if that was release clauses or wages alone) anyway I think he is out of our Bracket. I've seen posts about the fact we have managed to retain the same squad that won 3 in a row, true but these players are now know and to be honest look tired. Our squad was stretched last season, and we've lost players since then and haven't yet replaced them all. The new season has just started and we already have 3 injuries and no cover. If Ally is given a squad to work with and fails then criticise him, until then let's support him and criticise those that are not providing the squad.

Are we forgetting we have an ideal partner for jelavic at the club already? Big lafferty. He was outstanding during the run in last season when played through the middle. Why should we waste him playin wide left to accomodate goodwillie, miller or anyone else for that matter. The guy has taken some amount of crap since he came and deserves a run in his proper position. Everyone saw how good he was with jelavic and in my opinion a jelavic and lafferty partnership would get 40-45 goals a season easy My team this season would be
Mcgregor
Whittaker (rb)
Goian (cb)
Bartley (cb)
Wallace (lb)
Hutton (dmc)
Ness (cm)
Davis (cm)
Naismith (just off strikers)
Jelavic and lafferty.
Subs-alexander, broadfoot, papac, mcculloch, ortiz, bendikson, hemmings.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Leaving out Papac, one of the more consistent performers at the club. The only thing that goes against Papac is that he seems not to be in the clique at the club. Has anyone else noticed that when he does make a mistake McGreggor goes mental at him but when it's Weir, Whittaker or McCulloch he says nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe he's just so used to these making mistakes he has given up.

Agree0 Disagree0

At least a positive post but nae width mate. Agree with most and laff up front. Hutton, ness same team? Only opinions bu have to say cant see both in same team. Aussie boy, brunt type on left and naisy right and free reign to attack. However that is the prob for whitts. He is often exposed by the lack of defensive line on his side of the park.
You could have wallace, papac one side certainly and davis and say ness in mid or edu (i stll think he can be a player for us. Hes been up there for MOTM on many gers forums. Cant ALL be wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

I would leave out Whittaker and play Sasa at right back.....remember he was a CB made into a left back, so i'm sure he would be quite comfortable on the right, and unlike Whittaker, Sasa '''CAN''' defend.......Whittaker needs to be right mid if anything, because there is no point kidding on, he can't defend.

Take our money back on the k-sclaf? Think I'd tell West Ham to give us what we paid for him up front and take it myself and try to buy a decent striker (supposing we ever get someone in).

No convinced Lafferty will come back the same player that finished last season with such a flourish. Would anticipate it being more the usual duffer that deep down we all expect.

Rangers need a good few quality players before the window closes- FACT. :-)

Falling over the line and Walter carrying a bit of luck in years past shouldn't cloud the issue. The man said so himself (well no in quite so many words) :-)

If you don't reckon so, ask Ally, what do you think he'd say? I guess now we need to sign a few over the next three weeks, rather than the two months we had initially (providing no one else leaves). Might still happen I suppose. We'll know Whyte's no the man WHEN, sorry if, we get there and it's no happened.

A club of the stature of Rangers has a certain on-going level of expenditure fans anticipate. I don't think anyone wants a new £12m Flo (heaven forbid) but something would be nice. When you have 50k people coming to see you every other week- putting say £1m in the coffers in the process that's only natural. One would have imagined he would have wanted one "marquee signing" in the door by now to convince people the "mystery man's" actually got the funds and quell any of the inevitable suspicions as time ticks on. I think I'd be keen to do that if it were me.

No too many people are questioning Ally- so I'm no sure why so many folk get the hump about that. He obviously needs a chance. This guy we know little about who bought the club for £1 and hasn't actually cleared the debt yet nor really spent anything, has to do something to convince me he has the best of intentions-this is only natural. N.B. tying-up major assets on long-term deals is obviously only common-sense. We only think it's some sort of master-stroke because we were used to the frankly shambolic way we were "run" under Murray, certainly latterly.

Randolph True Blue {Ed047's Note - wish people would stop saying FACT. Facts are definite, if you have FACTS prove it.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Agree ed i think anything with "FACT" written after it just shouldnt make the pages.... Randolph u dont half greet and moan on these pages .. how about being a supporter and SUPPORTING the team rather than bitch about it and giving your amateurish reasons.

We fell over the lins last season did we ? there was me thinkin the last few games were easily the most convincing league finishes i might have ever seen by the gers destroying teams you have a very short memory me thinks... we blew teams away at the tail end of last season. Can you clarify, was the Euro window last night or Thursday, different sites are saying different dates. Also, we all need to chill, we have offered good money for two players and have apparently missed out. The money is there but I honestly believe we should be far more discreet on our approaches as all this haggling is because every club out there knows our business and that we will consistently up offers in an attempt to get players. Don't think you can blame the selling club for wanting more money. We would do the same. Lets get back to business as it used to done and get excited when a news conference announced at Ibrox. Stop highlighting targets to the public and get on with getting some quality signings.
{Ed047's Note - yes I'll clarify for the hundredth time (why don't you read other posts before asking?) Deadline was last night but we're allowed a wildcard signing up to Thursday

Its about time some people realise whats been going on at Ibrox and put things in perspective Craig Whyte bought a club with a boardroom running the club into the ground, more than happy to put the club into further debt. They stopped the sale going through for as long as possible, meaning Craig Whyte had less control over a lot of things that were already in place for this year, (advertising deals, ticket prices, even manager) He has had to get rid of most of the board who were acting for personal gain, and bring in new guys, as well as focus on bringing in new players, keeping to a wage structure which is not easy in modern football. Craig Whyte was never gonna be liked the first year, he HAS too many changes to make Come Jan, next summer, you will all have forgotten your complaints

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Yes Whyte probably has to make changes at the club. He should have then said that this year little money would have been spent during the transfer window instead of the 15 million he said Ally was getting. If he was upfront with the fans and said that we would be waiting until the 25 man squads were announced down south and then loans would be coming in, then we would all know where we stood. We don't, simple as that.

Goodwillie, vaughn and comway would have been decent signings and im disappointed we didnt get them. That said we are clearly looking to bring in more players and encouragement must be taken from that. So lets unite behind our truly great club and cheer them to every success we can hope for and remember we could be far worse off.

All this penny pinching talk must stop Ally has targets and also a budget like every other club. Remember we need defenders, wingers/wide midfielders and a striker to partner jelavic. We have bid 3.5 for jahusz (although anderlecht moved the posts again) fee for cueller agreed 2m. 250k fir McKay and already bought ortiz 500k Wallace 1.5, goian 500k. If we get jahusz and cueller which I think we will then our spending is just over £8m not to mention if we got goodwillie @ 2.5m We will now have to look at other striking options like matavz and that will cost s few bob so our spending will exceed 10 plus tying down our best players on long deals. im happy with everything so far We are the people

What's the betting that juhasz will be sold to somebody else in the next week. I think they will have had a better offer from elsewhere. The guy obviously wants to move but after weeks suddenly anderlecht Chang their mind. Sounds fishy to me. I think this will be another example of multiple bids, too much in the press and someone has got wind of it. It really is a catalogue of disasters and we are fast becoming the laughing stock.

Why can't we do our business quietly, starting with a reasonable bid instead of bidding half of what clubs want. If I offered you half the value of your house you would not take it, but I made a bid. Feel this is what whyte and co are up to. In the meantime we will get nobody of any substance we will get more loanees where they are not good enough for their own teams, and this time next year we will be in the same position if hmrc do not put us into oblivion.

Whyte is a charlatan and super ally should walk now as he is being hung out to dry by an owner who inherited him and may not want him. You will be a legend long after this clown has gone with his pockets full. {Ed003's Note - Or maybe Anderlecht have had a sudden influx of dosh that their priorities have changed? just a thought}

Matt McKay is supposed to be like xavi / inestia in the sense that he always looks to pass the ball forward and likes to create things , think him and Davis could be our creative midfielders

Juhasz deal is off so a would go get big Carlos , he's proved he's quality in the spl and about a million cheaper than juhasz so better deal ?

Also I'd get young murphy signed up asap before any English clubs come in , he could probably treble / quadruple his price in a few years with a couple of good seasons under his belt ? and we could make him get regular Scotland 1st team also

Also ad go back in for bedoya to strengthen up the squad and leave davidson because we have fleck , hutton , ness all better than davidson ;) would only sign davidson if he has a amazing season

This is for you lot that think we should have Cuellar signed just now........a looney wouldn't have him signed , as he is injured and not even back training yet.

In fact his agent has said, he doesn't expect him to be back until October, then he needs match fitness........so would it have been sensible for us to pay Calos 30k per week (25k minimum) for say 3 months, £400,000 in wages when he can't even play, whereas, he is sitting for 3 months with Villa paying his wages at 45k per week, £500,000 or there abouts, so Rangers save and Carlos gains.

I think a deal with Cuellar might just be already done, but for once, we are being shrewd on this one.
