"Telfer recently won the SPFL young player of the month award. "

Not so long ago the pro ally brigade were on here saying Telfer was no use that's why he didn't get a game and he would be warming the bench at Dundee Utd blah, blah, blah.

Humble Pie on the menu?

Ally wouldn't know the next Messi if he was under his nose.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Spot on mate. This is just another example of how inept the manager is and we will live to regret this when Dundee Utd sell him on for far more than the £200k we got. Another missed opportunity and another promising prospect leaves the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Player who was offered a deal and moved away wins award. Ally hater uses this as a point to bash Ally harder. Oh how proud must you be?

Agree0 Disagree0

@2) Try seeing more than just the side of the story that suits your own point of view.
Maybe if Ally had played Telfer more often or given some reassurance that he was part of future plans, he might not have wanted away.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 jonnostb. Ask yourself why he left.

Matey, I have more personally signed pics of ally when he was a player than you are ever likely to have so for your information I am not an ally hater. I do however think he is the worst Rangers manager I have seen in 45 years supporting the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 jonnostb, I also meant to say, I will treat the last comment on your post with the contempt it deserves.

Just read Thompsons statement, while great for rangers he makes a good point. Any youngster who has trained at a club for 7-8+ Years then leaves, the new club(I'm guessing scottish clubs only)must pay at least 200k even if they have only played 1 game in the first team. That dose seem quite high.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - if Rangers didnt want him and hadnt offered him a new contract Dundee United would have got him for nothing, but the boy is a decent player and was offered a new deal, these rules are there to protect clubs from picking up other clubs youngsters for nothing, Dundee United would have been the first to moan if it was one of their players)

Bongo: - Well said, my man, I think he got a lot more for Robertson when he sold him on after taking him from QP, and selling Gauld to Sporting If McCoist played the good kids we wouldn't have this problem in the first place.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was on the d utd page thing there a comment said the fee for young telfer is more than ten spl clubs have spent in transfer fees in the last five years quite amassing these clubs want most players for nothing

Agree0 Disagree0

What would everyone's feelings be if it was the other way round & rangers had to pay £200k to utd, I think it's unfair and had utd taken the player from any other club out with old firm then it would have been £50k.

Agree0 Disagree0

N5. I don't think they can crib about it as just like young Gould and Robertson young telfer will be sold on for millions, as the auld saying goes, you've got to put money in to take money out, speculate to accumulate

Agree0 Disagree0

What does it matter asking if it had been the other way around? Fact is, United pinched a good young player and have been hit with the bill. £50k for ten years development? Do you see that as being fair? I know I don't!

Agree0 Disagree0

The rule is there to protect ALL clubs big or small. Otherwise the bigger clubs would abuse the system (its business after all) and use the smaller clubs as breeders with no recompense. can't have your cake and eat it buddy. What does annoy me, and this is just an example, the rules in place are not introduced in a couple of weeks. These rules are put out for review, debate and revision before being implemented. Its like the cup and league schedules. For the most part they are out there at the beginning of each season. Through brilliance or luck (whatever) some clubs end up with a congestion of games and then start bleating that the schedule is unfair. My answer is not to be so successful then (tongue in cheek). The powers that be need to be more flexible but they can only implement powers allowed to them by the associations. which is the club members themselves. THEY are the ones who at the end of the day, make and endorse the rules. Hearn made some great points about the football 'businessmen' (This club knows that only toooooo wel!)

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm asking from only a financial law side - Shouldn't some of that 10 years 'fee' belong to the old company and its creditors then? After all the player wasn't sold he had to Tupe over!

Agree0 Disagree0

10 years development are you having a laugh, even so you think £20 k a year is fair for school boy football, I know I don't

Agree0 Disagree0

N10 I don't think they are allowed to play for there school team when they have a contract at the most successful club in scotland

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed my responce to no 10was sarcasm just in case you think I didn't get his post

Agree0 Disagree0

No really lol

its not as if the clues or signs were not there. greene and whyte trying to ruin rangers
if u wrote that in a book they d say it was a far fetched story. am just waiting for mr gold to come in now. or perhaps rumple stilskin. u just would not be surprised at the soap opera that is rangers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Did you still buy a season ticket after seeing these signs or clues? If you did you are certainly not alone. He done us all up goodstyle. Hindsight they say is 20/20 vision, that's done now. It is how we act now that's important.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was all there for all to see regarding green, his past with shef UTC his remarks about large hands to fill with money, Dallas cowboys, world cup players5 was mentiond lol.!!& plenty more fantasies ( not leaving till hears champ league theme at Ibrox, rolls up his sleeves to dish out tea, & embarrassing Xmas bid , CVA not being accepted means the end. then too get the fans back on side backtracks flings in a few there all against us bigots then the master stroke in rangers then now forever & ally's wee don't do walking away pleased & hoodwinked most. It was all there too see yet we where all desperate for a saviour& someone too sort the debacle out & get rangers back to normality (remember when it was football related players teams chat, banter, not courts lawyers police administrators etc)

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if we are talking hindsight bet you all wish you had been more receptive to Bill Miller. A 30 million hole is probably looking very good right now

Agree0 Disagree0

Sad bear:Did you buy a season ticket? If you did, at least you are laughing about it now.

Agree0 Disagree0

The whole thing was a set up. Green was getting control no matter who else came in. We know it now, had we known it then it would still have happened. It is what it is.

Agree0 Disagree0

Naw gkk I didn't buy into the pr propaganda & all the self persecution wave of emotions. Everyone's entitled to there opinions but wish the bill miller plan would have gained more momentum & support, rather than abusive online threats that screwd that line of opportunity. I seen how fast the statement was retracted today & reworked as the 1st statement issued stated " Dundee united used the tiresome 2year old argument " immediately shot down in flames by united. I think & pretty sure United's lawyers would have been allover the first statement issued. opinions anyone????

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey guys. In fairness, sometimes heart rules head. There were signs but love and passion for club blinded them. Any businessman who comments that for every 5 the main competitors spend he will spend 10 has to set alarm bells ringing in any sensible investor. It did not at the time because that is what everyone wanted to hear. The supporters of this club have continually fed off the bull being delivered because the passion was still there. Sadly, its waning now and this is reflected in attendance (other factors as well but this is a major one). People have totally lost faith in the Board, the manager (who was, and still is to many, a hero) DK ( the very quiet recently saviour) and the whole set up from the club to the SFA. All that comes out from the once adored Ibrox, is redundancies, overspending, admin 2, corruption, false accounting, boycotting, false data, underselling of assets, deceit & lies taxman liabilities, senior board and owners arrested and court cases. Is it any wonder the regular fans are frustrated? They just want simple answers to straight questions and can't even get that.

Wonder if Ally will apply for the St Mirren job.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am sure he will be on the shortlist. Sure St Mirren are looking for a manager who can't mastermind a victory against the mighty Alloa in 3 attempts with a budget of £6.5m a year
