several players have now moved on so funds should be available?

god almighty, yet another "team" almost every one the exact same as the next, we only have a certain amount of players m8, do you expect a different team to be posted?

Agree0 Disagree0

Tommy - take a look at the post below. we have a squad of 24 first team players, that's enough for two teams plus subs

Predicted 11 for first game v hearts? Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

BMC – I was thnking more about the full squad
My first thought is - Is this really needed to win the championship?
My second one is - Is this saving money?
My third is - RB should have been a priority

Looking at each player individually, we have

Keepers (2)
Bell – will have more to do this season, let's judge him on that
Gallacher – looked ok anytime he has played, going to spent lot of time on the bench

Right back (1)
Foster – not the player he was first time round, canny tackle, doesn’t get forward enough, gave away crucial goals in cup games last season, gives ball away too often, not what you want from your first choice right back

Central Defenders (5)
Faure – played out of position at RB but will never be a player no matter where he plays
McCulloch – has given a few good seasons, can't question his loyalty but time has run out for Jig, will get caught out this season
McGregor – plenty SPL experience, hope he turns out to be a good signing
Moshni – I like big Billy’s attitude to the game but tends to switch off, good for a few goals when he goes up the park, he will have more to do this season, let's judge him on that,
Zaliukas (if he signs) – best defender on this list

Left Back (2)
Wallace – our best player by a mile, if he could deliver a better final ball and finish a few chances when he gets into the box, he would be worth a few bob
Smith – decent cover for Wallace, finished last season well

Central Midfield (5)
MacLeod – hope he can get fit again, has plenty potential but he will need to step up a level this season
Law – very disappointing last season
Black – very disappointing last season
Hutton – tries hard but has no pace and gives away too many passes
Peralta – don’t know what to make of him, maybe we could see him in CM for a few games in a row, good bet to be sent off if you like a gamble

Wide Midfield (4)
Aird – improved throughout last season, will need to step up a level this season
McKay – looks like a fitba player every time he gets on the ball, needs more consistency as he tends to drift out of games
Gallacher – has plenty pace, likes to get into the box, could be a big season for him
Templeton – can do some great things which can win games on their own, good combination with Wallace on the left, only criticism is that he tends to give the ball away a lot and too easily injured

Forwards (5)
Miller – will score 20 plus goals this season
Boyd – will score 20 plus goals this season
Daly – stopped playing 1/3 way through last season, too static, just stands in the box waiting for the ball coming, missed far more chances than he scored last season
Clark – going to spend lot of time on the bench as cover for miller and boyd
Sheils – disappears for most of the game, maybe playing better opposition might suit him

I have left out another 4 of
Kelly
Gasparotto
Halkett
Murdoch
Who will probably spend this season with the youth team

My starting 11 for our opener against hearts if we do sign zaliukas & cowie would be-bell, faure, mcgregor, zaliukas, wallace, law, black, cowie, templeton, boyd, miller

Scott Allan's derby trial comes to an end, surely we'll get him now? if we sign Don Cowie over him that's criminal

@ 3 what if the lad doesn't want to come .

From the squad we have now (presuming Zaliukas is signing) I'd play 4-4-2 but with a diamond in midfield. So I'd have Bell in goal. Back four of McAusland, McGregor, Zaliukas & Wallace. Black sitting in midfield with Law & MacLeod either side of him given license to join the attack and Templeton in a free role at the tip of the diamond. Boyd & Miller up front.

I think Ally will go with Bell in goal. Foster, Jig, Zaliukas & Wallace at the back. Aird, Black, Law & Templeton in a flat midfield four. With Boyd & Miller up front.

Quoted that he "would walk through broken glass to join the club he loves"

New to this site would play
Bell
Monshni zaliukas Mcgregor

Black
Templeton Mcleod law Wallace

Boyd miller

@5 Must admit I like the look of your team and wouldn't tamper too much with it. Except I wouldn't play Black. We had no threat whatsoever down the RHS last year so I would have Mcleod and Law in central midfield with MacKay wide right and Templeton wide left.
What happens to the Bombscare and Jig- will Ally drop them if he has a new central defensive pairing- who knows?

Daly out for 6 weeks due to a niggling knee injury that needs surgery.

"Towards the end of the season, we would have given him a little rest if we could have but personnel indicated we couldn't, " explained McCoist. "With Andy Little injured, he was our only striker at points and to be fair to him, he kept turning up and playing for us.

So the league was well won but Ally didn't give him a rest or get him in for surgery then so he'd recover in the close season and be fit to play in a far more competitive league? And when was he the only striker? I seem to remember Daly playing and Calum Gallagher being on the subs bench

Yet more basic managerial mistakes.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Exactly what I thought. McCoiist does himself no favours when it comes to talking in public.

Agree0 Disagree0

Daly had been a statue since the turn of the year and could easily have been rested. That was the time to experiment with playing Aird through the middle giving us pace up front, It might not have worked, but then Ally could have reverted to Big Jig and he would have been back to his favoured long ball/big punt and only tactic. But going through possibly the 2nd worse league in Europe unbeaten was all the mattered to the Super One. Looks good on a C. V.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hear young winston but also they knew daly had a dicy knee when they signed him

my thoughts on last nights game - I thought the game would be klose than this, never thought i'd see them luiz like this, you khedita pin drop when that 5th goal went in, they are truly fred in the water, brazil are lahm`s to the slaughter and have been well and truly mullered. for sh#t performances they deserve an oscar. a real lowe point in brazillian football!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A low point in the history of comedy!! At least your mind is kept busy though.
