09 Jun 2016 23:26:45
Niko krancjar on the verge of signing a 2 year deal with rangers ( tommorow's scottish sun )

09 Jun 2016 22:09:36
Stokes would be an interesting appointment. He tore us to shreds in cup final, probably hates us with a passion and has questionable temperament. Apart from the cup final bit, sounds like Mo. Other than the fact that Mo was good, of course. Anyway, he's free and good.

10 Jun 2016 08:17:16
You're having a bloody laugh aren't you?

10 Jun 2016 08:52:16
Bruisedbear. You awryt mate? Because that's absolute nonsense yer talkin there.

10 Jun 2016 10:17:02
bruisedbear have u been involved in an accident recently and taken a blow to the head.
I have a few numbers that I could give u for a claim!

ive heard a lot of bad rumours on this site but that one takes the biscuit.

10 Jun 2016 11:29:59
Had to be one of the worst posts on this site however it's probably a wind up but not a good one at that. Maybe we could also high jack Lennon's appointment at Hibs and he can replace Durrant.

10 Jun 2016 11:33:35
maybe we could get him and his dad to organise a few functions for us in their homeland, raise our profile in Southern Ireland. Sorry but this is ridiculous.

10 Jun 2016 11:52:30
Absolute cracker Biffo!

09 Jun 2016 21:54:44
Would anyone take Shaun Hutchinson? Previously been at Motherwell and has just been released by Fulham, 6ft 2 CB but don't know enough about him myself, thoughts?

09 Jun 2016 22:55:29
I would take the other defender that was released Dan burn 6ft 7 CB.

09 Jun 2016 23:39:56
He's decent, not sure he's the kind of defender Warbs wants though, he's pretty much solid and no nonsense where Warbs likes us to play out from the back.

09 Jun 2016 21:26:55
So I here warburton not been around much lately and waiting still for his bonus!
Surely he's not walked.

09 Jun 2016 21:51:38
Where are you hearing this? How do you know he hasn't been paid his bonus? More rumours from the other side,

09 Jun 2016 22:20:02
I sense a disturbance in the force!

09 Jun 2016 23:43:04
There's tons of rumours Warbs has left or is leaving and ALL of them have came from Celtic bloggers.

So in other words. nothing to worry about, it's just the green and grey trying to stir things.

10 Jun 2016 10:20:56
that's just wishfull thinking form them they know we will have them beat next season!

10 Jun 2016 10:59:17
The gaffer was in the US working on the Krancjar deal. He then did the first meeting with Barton before he went on holiday with his family and is now at the Pro Licence course at the English FA's St George's park, which will probably involve going to the Euros to analyse a group game, just as he did last year when it was the U21 euros and he was on the A licence. Due back to the club on the 18th.

09 Jun 2016 20:41:17
Could Kenny Miller be about to join coaching staff in place of durrant thoughts.

09 Jun 2016 20:51:27
I hope that's the case he would be great for the younger guys maybe the assistant manager?

09 Jun 2016 21:59:37
Assistant manager, what instead of Sir Davie, no chance.

09 Jun 2016 22:31:47
Of the under 20s clearly! u ok?

09 Jun 2016 22:34:59
Hope Neil McCann in with a shout talks a good game, Rangers fan, think he would do good with youths.

10 Jun 2016 00:29:47
Sorry Ryan didn't even know the U20's had an assistant manager, my bad.

10 Jun 2016 06:48:38
A dunno if they have either mate was just a suggestion if he had retired a think he would get the managers job for the 20s but with that not being the case a think it would be good for him and the players to assist great pro to learn from with Neil McCann that would be a good shout doubt he will give up his sky number though.

10 Jun 2016 08:53:00
Definitely, these young guys learning from Miller, Weir and possibly even McCann would be ideal. Would definitely like to see McCann around Rangers in some capacity though.

10 Jun 2016 10:24:26
I wish rangers kept durrant in some capacity he would accept anything he is rangers daft and served our great club a long long time!

I think he will go wherever super ally ends up as his assistant.

09 Jun 2016 20:39:02
Shaun Hutchinson of Fulham been freed by ft he club we tried to sign him when he was a Motherwell player think he would be good signing.

09 Jun 2016 17:29:57
Haven't heard of any transfer news of yet but I'm glad we are taking our time and making sure we get the right type of player in.

Sad to see Ian Durrant leave but good to see we are making changes not only for the first team but throughout the club. Warburton, weir and the rest of the staff seem to be building something special, we made it through a tough few years now the good times are coming!

Hopefully we sign another quality defender or two and a striker and we will be looking good for 55!

09 Jun 2016 18:48:22
i am sorry to see him go to because he took a pay cut under the macoist regime unfortunetly rangers and football is all he has known and i fear he may find it difficult to find another club.

09 Jun 2016 15:27:36
The timing of Durant leaving and the transfer window opening. I'm hoping it means a bigger name being offered a player coach role to entice them. Thoughts?

09 Jun 2016 15:54:25
change isn't always good but warbs started with youths so he must see the bigger picture just hope he brings in the right person our future is with youth players breaking threw so I'm confident he's got it spot on with a change plus durrants wages would have been alright as he's been here since white and green were robbing our club hope he moves on and does well I met him once in a pub in Kilmarnock and he signed my mates birthday card twice he's a good guy just time to move on good luck.

09 Jun 2016 16:55:51
Best of luck to Ian Durrant for the future - a Rangers legend.

09 Jun 2016 18:20:32
Durrant's departure is nothing more than a cost cutting exercise as he was on 200K a year.

09 Jun 2016 19:34:30
BossHogg

Unless Durrant was working his notice then I don't think it will really save us much money. Tbh for £200k u would have expected better results but our youth team is average at best.

09 Jun 2016 19:42:01
Sometimes you just need a fresh face.

09 Jun 2016 21:01:17
Like all above I wish he's blue, he's white, he's dynamite ian durrant all the very best of luck wherever his career now takes him, what a midfielder and a proper glasgow rangers legend durranty is! If not for a serious injury thrust upon him by the sheep midfielder who I can't even say then we would have had arguably the greatest rangers midfielder of all time, the wee man was in my era and is just a few years older than me, thanks for all the fantastic memories wee man, you'll always be part of the rangers family and always welcome back at ibrox where the fans love you, wee durranty bleeds red, white and blue!

09 Jun 2016 14:30:04
I do see a future for aird I try to keep an eye on the players loaned out he's playing quite well people say it not as competitive over there as it is here I disagree they play some good football it's just not as popular as its the 5 most popular sport after America football baseball basketball n ice hockey but there some cracking players there his pace would be welcome back at ibrox I do like him as a player and hope he gets his chance to work under w n w and the CB from Plymouth looks a great player with the potential to be diamond in the ruff hope there's truth init.

09 Jun 2016 15:15:21
Personally can't wait to see Aird play. after hearing so many great reviews about him it will be nice to see if he has actually moulded into the RB people are saying he has.

09 Jun 2016 15:47:40
The American league is now on a par with Scotland if not better, they have some right good players and it is played blood and thunder style and a high tempo pace.

09 Jun 2016 16:29:19
I thought aird was lb no?
I think we should defo bring him back and give him the chance McKay has been given he was a good player for us and at leasts deserves to play in the cup games for us.

09 Jun 2016 16:29:19
I thought aird was lb no?

09 Jun 2016 16:48:41
MLS runs at different schedule to SPL so I'm not sure Aird will even be back for the start of SPL. Depends on the length of the loan.

{Ed039's Note - Aird will be due back at the end of the MLS season, that depends whether his side make the play offs or not)

09 Jun 2016 19:36:11
Aird is nowhere near the talent McKay is. Nowhere even close.

09 Jun 2016 14:03:46
Fulham have today released Jamie O'Hara, Alexander Kacanilkic and Shaun Hutchinson. With Hutchinson having played up here and our need for a new CB I can see us being linked with him for sure. Would you take any of the three?

09 Jun 2016 15:22:17
Surely Dan Burn who has also been released is a shout at CB?

09 Jun 2016 13:50:15
Scrap that last comment.

The boy Alexander Kacaniklic has also been released by Fulham and is a Sweden international plays in the hole behind striker.

Surely a target for us.

09 Jun 2016 15:43:27
Why would he surely be a target if Fulham have released him then he isn't good enough for us.

09 Jun 2016 13:43:30
we won't get nahki wells, huddersfield chief says he is relaxed about the situation "we haven't had any bids and we will not welcome any" they are not strapped for cash so they don't have to cash in on players and we will need a decent amount to buy their top goal scorer.

09 Jun 2016 14:44:29
I agree would need to be a descent offer as he's a great wee finisher there's lots of player in the lower leagues in England just look at vardy warbs and mcp no a lot more than the average rangers fan and I've seen a few players I'd like if we have to wait and get them here on a free with the lour of playing in front of 49000 and champions league football I'm happy to wait and see who comes threw the door every transfer window.

09 Jun 2016 13:38:51
Afternoon Bears,

Some interesting free agents kicking about this summer - latest notable player to be released by Fulham is Jamie O'Hara.

I know we were linked with him a few years ago now, and his best days might be behind him.

But a guy with undoubted talent, a possible option for us if Kranjcar pies us?

Thoughts?

09 Jun 2016 12:36:23
I'm buzzing for this season weir warbs and mcp especially are building something special at rangers which is a far cry from ally and his coaching and boring lazy players things have changed at ibrox bringing in young hungry players and Barton coming is just the start of things to come great coop for the club a hard worker who demands to win games tough tackles to cum I love it he's perfect to sit in front of the defence and command that area need a out and out goal scorer a good keeper a no nonsense CB / ammo type who controls the 18 yard box n a rb who can defend love tav I'd play him right wing his goal are priceless but his defensive side let's him down.

09 Jun 2016 13:48:01
Good shout, better than a lot of players we have been linked to.

09 Jun 2016 13:56:43
i don't think tav needs to be replaced yes we had problems at the back but i think that's more down to the lack of a experienced holding midfielder and center back.

09 Jun 2016 16:53:45
Tbh honest some reshuffling will probably happen and better players brought in as we built a team to win the championship now we need a squad capable of winning top league and qualify for Europe.

09 Jun 2016 12:45:02
Certain dreamers need to get real here, Rangers will NOT spend millions on 1 player for a long long time. Names like Peter crouch being mentioned surely no one believes this let alone want it, Rangers style would have to change to allow crouch to fit in, it's never happening, frees or players nearly out of contract that you can sign for under the 1 million bracket is all were going to get, an there's plenty out there! We need to sit tight and trust the hat!

09 Jun 2016 13:11:58
Think we don't need to spend that much to bring in a high calibre of player though.

Spending millions on one player isn't going to happen and I think most fans if not all understand that.

But who could have imagined a possible midfield 3 of Barton, Rossiter and Kranjcar at this point in Mark Warburtons revolution.

We didn't spend millions to get Barton and Rossiter. We will spend millions for a striker or a centre back or ant position for that matter. Doesn't mean the players we sign aren't worth millions though.

09 Jun 2016 15:00:49
I don't want uz to spend millions I like the fact we have brought in free transfers there's lots of players out there out of contract but it's about bringing in the right ones at the right time like Barton great addition and great player who made a statement saying he could have went to a number of clubs but chose to take a wage drop and move to rangers that says a lot about him as a player which will definitely encourage other players to do the same play for a club that fights every weeks and checks how the other team on the other side got on u have got to have passion playing for rangers and he has loads of that let's hope it rubs off on the youngsters at the club and we move forward from where we have been in the last few years.

09 Jun 2016 12:23:59
GK. Foderingham. Bell.

Lb. Wallace.

Cb. Wilson. Kiernan. Crooks

Rb. Tavernier. Aird

mc. Halliday. Barton. Rossiter

mc. Holt. Shields. Forrestor

RW. O'halloran. Windass.

Lw. Mckay.

St. Waghorn. Miller

Think shields will go if we sign another mid.

Bell will go if we sign GK.

So we need a left back left wing striker and a center back.

I think Waghorn play on the right. Windass and McKay will fight it out for the left wing
meaning we'll need two strikers.

09 Jun 2016 12:34:19
Windass isn't a winger! he is a secondary striker.

09 Jun 2016 13:08:25
Halliday plays left back aswell.

09 Jun 2016 13:30:53
in a 433 the wide players are secondary striker and the full backs are basically wing backs with the holding midfielder dropping back just in front of the deference to make up for the players going forward this is why i think Waghorn will play on the right as he not a natural striker.

09 Jun 2016 13:38:56
yes Halliday can play left back DerHammer i agree but am not sure he fit the style of full back the magic hat uses.

09 Jun 2016 14:26:09
Nah a can't see him bombing up an down origin but would do if it was just for cover but I do see yer point bud.

09 Jun 2016 15:04:04
on just a cover basis DerHammer yeah but i would prefer a like for like cover mate the team shaping up nicely and the fact we as a support can discuss new and potential new players is refreshing.

09 Jun 2016 13:50:23
Fraser Aird lol.

09 Jun 2016 11:35:27
Brian Kennedy sold sale sharks today, I wonder if he will invest in Rangers considering he tried to buy us in the past, any thoughts or info on that lads?

09 Jun 2016 12:06:42
I'm glad with the board we have but I would love Brian to come on board, but it's not that simple with gers at the moment, but good shout mate.

09 Jun 2016 13:58:31
Was his involvement not dependant on Souness being involved?

09 Jun 2016 14:29:30
Deeb sourness was involved I'm sure an introduction is all that's needed from him, maybe a seat in directors box an a rangers tie will keep souness happy ambassador role he will be good for, board said ages ago they'd welcome new investment and seek financial backing, I'm not saying it's a stick on lads but a possibility maybe.

09 Jun 2016 15:31:29
It's not simple but a possibility am sure he wanted full control of the club or nothing I hope he has keep his eye out and nos how much we have came forward as a club am sure he has and would b a welcome boost to have someone with his money behind us Robertson used to coach his boy or boys if I remember so it could happen don't no why not a massive club and the fans r the most passionate and loyal fans in any sport.

09 Jun 2016 13:14:42
Dełboy, i think Brian Kennedy would invest in rangers as well mate, i recon any good business man would invest in rangers giving the opportunity, but like you say mate its not so easy to invest at our place as the people running the show know that eventually they will reap there rewards, and good luck to them, as they are also doing a good job so far.

09 Jun 2016 11:30:47
Daniel Agger retired at 31 today that's that rumour put to bed.

09 Jun 2016 11:26:22
Well we won't be getting daniel agger he's just retired.

09 Jun 2016 11:13:24
Daily Record- - boom time for season ticket sales!
wonder why that is then?

only 1 show in town
onward and upward.

09 Jun 2016 10:57:48
The 18th June is quite soon. 3 or 4 permanent signings captured by then.

2 CF and 2 CB. Taylor, Nelson, Bradshaw and?

2 CB, GK and CF. Taylor, Nelson, Bentley and Bradshaw.

CB, GK and 2 CF. Taylor, Bentley, Bradshaw and?

If we do get 4 in, the best would be 2 CB, GK and CF. We need permanent Central Defenders. And if we are going to bring in any defensive players on loan Ball is possibly the only one, he's more if a CDM. A first choice Keeper is a must but imagine it'll just be someone who will be benched. A Striker is a must but the loan deals will provide good possibilities for that position with a permanent signing leading the team.

09 Jun 2016 11:34:09
Bradshaw and Bentley would both be excellent signings if we could pull them off. Not sure we'd manage either though as Bentley has a lot of premiership/ championship interest and Bradshaw may be within our budget but the persons from the east are interested as well and could beat us to him with more wages.

09 Jun 2016 11:40:06
Barton had Premiership interest from Burnley and Rossiter from Spurs apparently. Means nothing. If the player wants first team football, it'll be us or a top to mid table Championship side. If they want the money and a place on the bench for a Premier League team then they don't have the right attitude and we wouldn't want them at the club anyway.

09 Jun 2016 10:18:55
Looking forward to some good signings in the next few weeks. We seem to be almost there in midfield and a lot of talk about defenders, but it's a bit quiet on the striker front. Waghorn is good but not a natural predator, Miller played well last season and is a good mentor for Hardy, but getting old.

We need a McCoist type player someone who can score for fun. (I'm not sure about Cummings? and we don't want Lafferty unless he plays a blinder in Euros :-) Any ideas?

09 Jun 2016 11:30:31
Do you not want a better player than a McCoist type? Someone u can score at the highest level?

09 Jun 2016 11:33:22
Will grigg or Kyle lafferty, either will do me.

09 Jun 2016 11:55:41
If we're going to spend more than just compensation fees this season the striker position is the likely place it'll be used.

09 Jun 2016 12:10:18
Biffo316 don't like to be this guy but Ally McCoist own two European golden boots back to back so I'm not convinced you can say he didn't score goals at the highest level?

09 Jun 2016 12:35:05
Aye Biffo, you are definitely at the wind up. Get McCoist to a health farm and he would still be top goal scorer LOL.

09 Jun 2016 12:45:30
Better than Super ally.? We'd have to pay about 25 million in today's money for someone just as good let alone better. Honest can't believe that.

09 Jun 2016 09:34:54
What's your thoughts on big Lafferty and Aluko coming back think they would be good additions 2 our squad.

09 Jun 2016 09:39:27
Alukos away to birmingham, and am sure 90% of gers fans would accept lafferty of he came and started banging in goals, remember when miller signed for celtic? Then we signed him again everybody was against him coming back, look at how much he's adored by the bears.

09 Jun 2016 09:56:28
I would take big Lafferty back.

09 Jun 2016 09:56:56
I think as long as players do the job on the park then there's no problem. With Lafferty its what he done off the park and the way he left us that some feel is unforgiveable. i'm personally on the fence with this one. If he has a good Euros then hell be off to the highest wage bidder.

09 Jun 2016 11:31:30
Don't want Lafferty back and where did u pluck the 90% figure from?

09 Jun 2016 10:44:18
I'd take big lafferty back if he produced the same goods he does for NI. I'd like aluko as well but I think that ship has sailed. Think the gaffer has a few surprise names up his sleeve so we will just have to wait and see. Exciting to be linked with so many names and being able to bring guys like Barton here and at least attract enough attention that Steven Taylor came for talks. Despite what everyone's option is these guys have been premiership players for the past decade. I know Barton was in France for a year and both were in championship for a season each but still good we r getting in about them now.

09 Jun 2016 12:36:33
Nope wouldn't want the big guy back. He's not even that good!

09 Jun 2016 09:29:54
We signed Joey Barton on the 24th May which was 16 days ago. I thought Mark Warburton wanted to get most business done before the start of pre season training which is 18th June. So my question is do you think we'll have another couple of signing completed before the 18th June. Which is in 9 days time. Personally i would get permanent signings in first then try and get a couple of quality loan signing from premiership teams.

09 Jun 2016 09:47:09
Transfer window doesn't open until 1st july so we can't pay any fees for anyone yet we can only get pre contract players in.

09 Jun 2016 10:09:13
Yeah they gaffer and management team have been on a well earned holiday over the past week or so hence why nothing has happened since then I feel as if Rossiter and Barton were the goals before there holiday and the transfer window didn't open until today so expect news from today onwards in that regard.

09 Jun 2016 11:01:27
Transfer window opened today not july.

09 Jun 2016 11:33:38
Pish, transfer window opens today.

09 Jun 2016 11:52:35
Transfer window in Scotland opens today 9th June. In England it's the 1st July.

09 Jun 2016 08:32:24
Is it today the 9th the transfer window opens?

09 Jun 2016 09:14:15
1st July 2016.

09 Jun 2016 09:48:31
Today we can buy players from other Scottish clubs the rest 1st July.

09 Jun 2016 09:56:21
yes the window opens today and closes on September 1st.

09 Jun 2016 10:10:47
I am not sure if links are allowed however on sky it says today the window opens although before checking I did think it was July 1st unless the English transfer window opens earlier which I doubt.

09 Jun 2016 11:04:30
9th June till 1st sep.

09 Jun 2016 08:25:05
Two players that have been linked to Rangers I would like most so far are Daniel Bentley and Tom Bradshaw both value for money imo and obviously a solid no nonsense CB.

09 Jun 2016 07:52:01
How does everyone think we will line up next season I'm going for Bently Tav Crooks Taylor Wallace Barton Rossiter Kranjcar Waghorn Mckay Windass but will be interesting to see who we bring in.

09 Jun 2016 08:17:51
Bentley isn't coming to us. He has plenty of teams down south in the Championship/ Premier league looking at him.

09 Jun 2016 09:47:57
Bentley is going to brentford.

09 Jun 2016 06:37:42
Some of the names people would like to see coming in are terrible. Also complaining we're not spending money on transfer fees. If mw can get all he needs for free then let him do it.

09 Jun 2016 07:53:28
Cant spend on transfer fees as the window isn't open yet we can only get pre contract players at the mo.

08 Jun 2016 14:25:25
Would like to see mw add a foreign CB like boumsong, CC or bougherra no nonsense solid centre half good on the ball with good sell on value? Maybe to harsh on DW and RK I think they will get better easily the second best paring in Scotland just now if no better than Celtics but we need someone with the presence in there for next season.

09 Jun 2016 08:13:46
I wouldn't say bougherra was no nonsense lol.

09 Jun 2016 06:21:46
There's no sell on value with either boumsong or bougherra boabt78, both good centre halfs. I grant you but bougherra is around mid 30's and boumsong even older so I'm afraid no sell on value with these 2 mate!

08 Jun 2016 13:02:15
Seen kevin mcnaughton is a free agent reckon he would be a good backup to tavernier with his experience.

08 Jun 2016 02:17:21
Thought I'd fling a couple of names into the hat regarding CB situation, Antonio Ferdinand and Jonathan Woodgate? I know these guys are at end of their career but both should be available and can't see Middlesborough keeping Woodgate, but its CB's like these guys we should be looking at. let the slating begin ;)

09 Jun 2016 09:59:03
Didnt realise big Rio had a Spanish brother ;)

09 Jun 2016 11:14:11
Relation of bobo Malcolmo I'm sure 😂.
