Jordan thompson signs new contract

12 Jan 2017 09:36:08
Who!

12 Jan 2017 09:51:58
He's a 20yr old n, Ireland midfielder rangers signed from Man U last summer, he's on loan at raith rovers this season

12 Jan 2017 10:32:48
Good call, very talented lad, should promote him to the first team squad next season after Raith loan completed.

12 Jan 2017 12:23:49
Glad to hear jordon Thompson got new contract. Now let's get him in first team squad as soon as his loan deals up.

12 Jan 2017 12:34:52
That's the plan, he comes back pre season and fights for a first team place, great potential, best of luck to him

13 Jan 2017 16:13:11
we need to fingd a few gems and bring them, through I think so we can either keep them and win games or sell them and get back to our true selves

11 Jan 2017 17:27:33
see we have let a few youth players go including tom Walsh

11 Jan 2017 19:25:55
Can't find this, Kenny, any link?

11 Jan 2017 22:04:26
Yeah Tom Walsh, Ryan Sinammon and Scot Roberts all released. Good luck to them, I really thought Walsh had potential

11 Jan 2017 22:19:03
I thought Walsh and sinammon had a lot of potential. That's more youth not getting a chance at ibrox.

11 Jan 2017 23:30:45
All 3 have been youth players since 2012. So why are we releasing them? If we offer them a contract on the same terms and another team either offers better or they decided to go elsewhere for regular football then Rangers would be due training compensation money for them. Might only come to 100k but are we in a position to throw that away?

11 Jan 2017 23:37:50
I see where you are coming from about the development fee. Parky but good on the club for not hindering their chances of finding a new club. Even 100k is a lot of money for most Scottish clubs struggling to break even each year.

We also would run the risk of them accepting a new contract if they are not wanted lol

11 Jan 2017 23:53:09
Scottie, what do you mean by youth aren't getting a chance? All these boys were on loan to lesser level clubs and couldn't make an impact so why on earth would we give them a chance at Rangers?

12 Jan 2017 06:33:46
All 3 of them were the last remnants of the existing U20 squad who were turning 20/ 21. They were going to be of an age where they NEED first time football on a regular basis and clearly they were not good enough. Scott Roberts was a bench player at Falkirk and Tom Walsh the same at ST Mirren. If they aren't standout performers for teams like this, then they clearly aren't Rangers quality.

12 Jan 2017 08:31:19
They've had their contracts cut short to finance loan moves for toral and hyndman

12 Jan 2017 11:24:56
Shame for them. Sinny had captained the u20s previously, we were in the same school so maybe biased, but I thought he really deserved a chance.

12 Jan 2017 12:33:55
They are of an age to make the cut or move on, simple.
Walsh isn't as good as say atakayi and Sinnamon isn't as good as Beerman. The latter players are younger and have better potential so why hold them back to keep these guys.

12 Jan 2017 12:37:20
Spot on, they couldn't even get regular games in the championship, so they really are not good enough to play for us, but I wish them all the very best

12 Jan 2017 13:14:56
Barry McKay was poor at raith - struggled to get a game - did that mean he wasn't good enough for first team level.

On another note - In Warbs we trust.

12 Jan 2017 13:31:04
Always difficult when young boys let go and wish them all the very best.

Great to see Thompson getting contact extension and look forward to seeing him next season, also Hardie. Would like to see young Burt figure in the 2nd half of this season, looks good and ready.

Would also like young lad Bates get some fiest team game time in the second half of season.

12 Jan 2017 14:02:09
there are not many clubs got the 100k to buy them and if they can't make it theyy have to move on not nice but that's how it is

13 Jan 2017 13:46:37
Are you sure tom Walsh has been released

13 Jan 2017 14:58:16
Can't see any confirmation of Walsh being released. He is currently on loan at St Mirren. Has had 4 starts, 5 sub appearances and 3 goals in the championship.

13 Jan 2017 15:26:25
Can't see anywhere that Walsh has been released. He's on loan at St Mirren til the end of the season and being doing okay. Had 4 starts, 5 sub appearnces with 3 goals scored in the championship this season.

11 Jan 2017 12:38:43
I see we were knocked back by west ham to loan a young player, a midfielder none the less!
Why another mf warbs, other areas need addressed here

11 Jan 2017 12:48:39
One paper is reporting it. Very much doubt it, there would be no need to have Windass, Toral and Quina.

11 Jan 2017 13:07:38
Yeah my thoughts exactly, i didn't know if it was true but if so the guy seemed a bit young at 17 to be a starter with us, we all know warbs likes young hungry players but this one seemed strange

11 Jan 2017 13:48:40
The scarier thing would be ( if true ) is why does MW need to source young players from down south when we have a multitude of our own home grown from Auchinhowie.

Warburton has made his feelings clear on the youth policy and it scares me to think that whilst under his tenure at Ibrox the boys who we have and are coming through clearly aren't being given a chance

11 Jan 2017 14:59:52
We're not really in a position to do that, with exception of the obvious our squad is pretty young already and with 2nd not being sewn up we need to get that first before taking any risks.

11 Jan 2017 16:54:34
definetly not in a position to do that these loan players are good to help us get second but I don't see a 17 year old helping with that!

warbs doesn't like the way our youth has been training and doesn't rate any of them with the exeption of 1 or 2, that's why he has changed the youth set up so the younger ones are playing boys slightly older than them and getting them ready for the step up

12 Jan 2017 10:41:18
Getting them ready for the step up to where. He doesn't give them a chance

12 Jan 2017 12:34:35
mr bassy the ones that are of age to make the step up now aren't good enough!
that's why he has changed the system so that the lads get better and do get their chance not rocket science mate!

12 Jan 2017 12:35:48
he hasn't gave these boys the chance because they haven't been training the way he wants and are there for not good enough

11 Jan 2017 10:35:23
Anyone heard this rumour we've been linked with former Morton Winger Erik Paartalu?

11 Jan 2017 18:23:38
That would be an embarrassing move for us.

11 Jan 2017 10:08:35
Per Mertesacker been made available for loan from arsenal, could be a potential signing

11 Jan 2017 10:34:31
You have to be joking!

11 Jan 2017 10:36:44
Hes rotten

11 Jan 2017 10:51:45
lol better than kiernan and wilson combined but, two of the worst rangers center halves I've ever seen

11 Jan 2017 10:56:15
Pretty sure he's the slowest player on fifa lol. Wages would be rediculous.

11 Jan 2017 10:56:29
World cup winner!

11 Jan 2017 11:09:34
the slowest player on fifa? who the hen cares about fifa he's one of the most experienced cbs in football atm

11 Jan 2017 11:19:16
People that judge players on their FIFA rating don't know much about football.

11 Jan 2017 11:41:40
PM played at the very highest level yet some on here thinks he's crap - OFFS what are you on?

Sure we couldn't afford him but would grab him if given the chance. he'll most likely end up moving to a Scottish 2nd div team like Juve or Inter

11 Jan 2017 11:45:26
Think he's having a bit of a giraffe regarding fifa tbf

11 Jan 2017 13:03:59
Wow boys just a bit of banter

11 Jan 2017 13:32:54
Stephane Guivarch was a world cup winner aswell WOW WEE. big deal he's played at the highest level so has Barton, Konterman, Capucho, Emerson, Ostenstaad, Bernard, it doesn't mean a jot

11 Jan 2017 14:59:49
Can't forget Francis Jeffers too

11 Jan 2017 17:28:58
There is more chance of the celtic Stand blowing down than of us getting Mertesacker! Oh, wait a minute what have I just seen on the news; and to think they wanted to wear hard hats to Ibrox!

11 Jan 2017 20:27:33
When did Barton, Konterman, Emerson, Ostenstaad n Bernard play at the highest level 😂

11 Jan 2017 20:44:31
Well they all played in the EPL which is quite a high level is it not

11 Jan 2017 20:47:10
Obv Konterman and capucho never played in the EPL but both played in the euros and uefa cup final respectivley which is high level football
