I think rangers have a good lot of targets javi gaurera,maven celik all seen them on YouTube and what great feet they have and plus Sandaza !!

Thats my worry previous poster,im not too expectant to be honest.i hope for allys sake that he gets the backing he deserves and gets a few in.if theres any money to spend that is!

You could sign 4 players for £10mill each who all turn out to be duds or you could sign 4 players for £1mill combined who could all do well. I never judge players til they've played for Rangers, we've signed plenty of players on the cheap who've more than done a job at Rangers in the past and as you all know, we've had plenty of big money duds, so just trust in who we bring in and support the team. I've still not gave up on the summer "flops", they've still to prove themselves.

The two posters before last are spot on: it's all spin.

In my opinion the only player that has any chance of signing from that lot is Sandaza. He's having a good season and would do a job but I think the others are just names thrown in there to appease the fans.

Let's be honest foreign names bring about a sense of excitement that there's a gem on the way. SPL players rarely bring about the same response and sometimes met with hostility or disappointment for whatever reason (e.g. Mulgrew who by all accounts has turned out to be a good signing for Celtic but it wasn't a popular one at the time).

Truth is if they're really that good there's a good chance they won't be affordable or there'll be competition from other clubs in better leagues.

Would be really interesting to take a list of names linked with any club during a transfer window via all the usual media outlets and work out how many on the list actually sign. I bet it's something like 1 or 2 out of possibly more than 100.

Celtic fan here and i've come in peace.I heard a rumour today that your management team haven't been paid since September but they are willing to wait on their wages for time being.I don't know if it's true or not but in my opinion i think it's BS.Has anyone else heard of this rumour?

Did I hear right that Sandaza has rejected a pre contract?

Do you think he has done that to persuade the gers to make a January move for him?

Good he's not rangers class...instead off buying these dross players we should be giving the young players a chance to show what they can do.

So in the current climate, who exactly is ''Rangers class'' then, gimme some names...

Not sure why Aluko's being mentioned. He's a great player and I'd happily have had him in my squad 5/6 years ago when we had real talent.

Agree with above the guys well past it, he was well past it when he came but big davie has alot of steel,reads the game well and done a great job- i wish we got him years ago-he would be an all time great! but now he`s to old been a great servant and will make a top class coach i hope its with us

Not a great fan of Alexander too prone to mistakes. Falkirk one was awful and the one against Hamburg was shocking too. 2 games 2 awful mistakes not good

Shagger made a couple of howlers this season but he won us so many games and indeed the title last season but the howlers with Alexander are regular.

That's what happens when you don't get enough game experience.

Gaziantepspor are battling with Rangers to land Swedish Under-21 international striker Mervan Celik.

Well here hoping he wants to win trophies instead of the wages can't see it though

He has Turkish parentage, so that'll probably factor into going to Turkey over Scotland.

Grasshopper are not Turkish,they are a Swedish team.Turks can offer good money.So I hope that none of there teams are sniffing around him.The thing is that a lot of there teams,want to pay players.When they get injured out there.Look what happened to Stewart,who was at Hearts.He is still waiting for cash owed to him.And so is Kris Boyd,he was lucky enough to get most off it up front though.Ally

I think he means... GAIS? which is a team from Gothenburg which is in Sweden... its the only thing i can think of but GAIS are from Sweden, Grasshoppers from Switzerland and Gaziantepspor are from Turkey...

Super ally said they have offered sandaza a pre contract and he has spoke with Steve lomas about this but would not say if the rangers would try and get him in this window due to the game on Saturday but said after the game we will get more news

I would get sandaza in just now. if ally rates him then we need strikes in if jelavic leaves. i only hope that there isn't a situation where we dont sign a striker and jelavic is sold on the last day of the transfer window. we need at least 2 strikers and a creative midfielder. a wide player would also help- perhaps thats stretching it a bit!

Did Ally pinpoint these three players Jaager, Afobe And Celik or is this another case of the coaching staff being TOLD these are the ones I (being Mr Smith who no one knows what I do) want you to work with cause I think there affordable and I think they might do but if they don't then Ally will carry the can for his whims

In think there all smith targets,i remember when he came back he said he had a good knowledge of the player markets thru being an agent.i think thats why ally dnt play bedoya,mckay or ortiz.when they signed smith wz the front man especially with bedoya

Badoya was a target of walter smiths when he was at rangers but missed out on him so I dont think thats Gordon smiths doing.

Ortiz has two games at fullback behind closed doors and by all accounts has done well, I keep harping on about this, but that's where he played when we bought him - why not give him a run now that Whitty is out for 6 weeks

Rangers have held talks over a move for Swedish Under-21 international Mervan Celik, according to reports in his homeland.

The player, an attacking midfielder who can play on either wing, is a free agent having left GAIS under freedom of contract.

Reports in Sweden state Celik has received a contract offer from the SPL club, which would see him paid £7,000 a week at Ibrox.

Rangers would be required to pay training compensation to GAIS to land the 21-year-old, who has spent the last four years with the Gothenburg-based side.

Turkish side Gazientepspor are also keen on the Swede and his agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, says Celik will decide his next move shortly.

“Mervan will take a decision on the future of the next few days,” Cetinkaya told Sport-Expressen.

“Right now there are two clubs that there is between, but I do not want to comment on any club's name at the moment.”

Celik scored 14 goals in 27 appearances for GAIS last campaign, his fourth full season with the club. In total, he played 68 times, finding the net 18 times.

He has been consistently linked with a move away from Sweden over the last year, with a number of clubs, including Middlesbrough and Genoa, being attributed with an interest.

Celik, who is of Kurdish origin, also played youth football with IF Warta and BK Hacken before signing for GAIS in 2007.

Why are we taking a chance that Sandaza will bite us on Saturday. If we are to sign him why has it not been done already. Is whyte going to wait until we are out of the league as he did with the champions league and Europa league in the summer, before signing anybody.
I know we have no money but it is £300 k we are talking about. Surely things cannot be that bad,

Think Sandaza is trying to get the transfer fee together he has applied to wonga etc but they keep knocking him back as it is not a secure position.

We will sign him, but only when he is out if contract, we are not spending in transfer fees that much is obvious going by the morning papers it's now out of contract players we are linked with, and the press talking them up adding in words like ace and internationalist if that is supposed to impress us. How can the tax bill be down to Whyte? That's possibly the most stupid comment on these boards. You can't hold him responsible for what the previous regime did. The tax bill relates to possible non payments from 1999-2003.
