hi ed, received this e-mail from a friend,

Notice lodged with Land Register to mortgage Ibrox and Murray Park to

http://independent.co.uk/news/business/news/sports-direct-stops-20000-staff-taking-other-work-by-using-zero-hour-contracts-9661746.html

Despite alternative funding available. does anybody know or have more information on this?

It would appear that this has been done so that legally the board can only accept ashleys loan over the next 35 days guzumping everyone else. this will be accepted and if they cannot pay back 10 mil which they won't Ashley owns the lot. pretty much legalised theft imo.
the next time you even think about going back just remember that this board has just sold you all out.

Mike Ashley has posted notice of his intention to take out security over Rangers' Ibrox Stadium.
Documents seen by STV show that Sports Direct have filed their intent to add their name to the title deeds of the ground. Ashley has 35 days to complete the application but the lodging of documents indicates the owner of Newcastle United could be set to provide a secured loan to Rangers to provide badly-needed cash.

How the hell can this get approved!!

From my understanding of this, the notices of security, lodged with the Register of Scotland on 15 January, mean that only Sports Direct can be granted security on Ibrox and MP for a 35-day period. By doing this Ashley has made it impossible, for the next 35 days, to accept the security condition of the Three Bears' offer thus meaning the Three Bears £6.5m loan secured on MP cannot be accepted.

Only positive I can see is that surely David Somers position is under even more scrutiny now as I believe he said in statements that Ibrox would never be used as security against a loan.

Is this game, set and match Ashley or can anyone see a way out of this.

I just don't understand why 3 Bears & King don't call a EGM, would this not stop any further discussions until this EGM or can the current board accept it even knowing they will be off the board after the EGM.

that'll be that then!
lock the doors and throw away the key!!

I read this too, reading the article the only positive is that it means that the club is in a position to offer ibrox as security means they definitely own it and not wee craig! However this means that another loan is on the way! Surely this must be the last straw, he must be stopped or his strangle hols will be complete. Call an EGM and get him off the board and let the 3 bears and king start the rebuild. Even if it means a few steps back in the long run it must be better!

Does the board actually care if anyone goes to games anymore?

Surely King or the three bears could provide the money secured against equity in the next share sale?

I hope this doesn't go through.

Im not against Ashley as outright owner but that's not possible right now due to rules. Is he trying to set himself up as major creditor to get us or the assets on the cheap that's the real question I think?

Agree0 Disagree0

I've always thought between Ashley and Easedale, there was some plan to strip assets and attain land for development.

Ibrox I don't think can be torn down, and to be honest, nobody in their right mind would. But the other land and assets?

Agree0 Disagree0

Check STV guys, Three Bearstaking legal advice over this. They have also said they only offered £5m as that was what board said was required. They are willing to increase loan to match anything The fat Geordie will offer without security over Ibrox

I thought he was from Buckinghamshire.
