Defence definitely looks improved from last season but until we face decent opposition I wouldn't be saying that's it sorted, still needs testing and in my opinion that's not happened in the 3 games under SG! Aberdeen game will show how solid the defence really is!

I think its just the goalkeeper that's improved. They still managed to get in behind us far too easily down the flanks and the team as a whole, at this stage, looks as bad as last year

We were playing against a poor team, forwArds and midfield were nowhere, defence, another clean sheet, but STILL they got at us down the wings, can't believe they screwed us for pace more than once.

I think defence was exposed by Ryan Jack and McCrorie they were neither pressing forward or coming back on the defence didn't really look like they knew what they were meant to be doing Ejaria should have got an assist Middleton should have been hitting the target from there Murphy was very unlucky to see his shot deflected behind

Need to agree with you STB72. McCrorie and Jack are defensively minded players. Having two with same mind set prevents breaking runs from the middle. We need an attacking midfielder (ejaria might be the answer? ) . Morelos is not big enough to handle the crosses and not smart enough to stay onside awaiting for them. Therefore push through from the middle.

Was not pretty but effective.
Putting the ball in net is the problem, strikers are first to lose sharpness in my opinion.

Gerrards first stated intention was to sort out the defence, I know we haven't really played anyone yet, but the defence is improving apart from tav continually caught upfield, we need someone to attack from midfield, and if morelos stays then he needs a partner, he is not capable of being a lone striker. Gerrards somments last night were about the final third, so he has noticed!

Just for clarity mcorrie was injured and needed an injection to play . so well done to you son and thank you for your bravery and 2. Ronnie says we have only improved on defence? But if shagger had not bailed us out we might have lost that tie. is that not correct . firstveuropean tie won for five years I for one am grateful .! Onward and upward.

Rangers interested in loaning Joe Gomez from Liverpool. The player has other interested parties and Klopp has not yet decided if he is surplus to requirements. Let’s wait and see.
Also Solanke does not want to move to Glasgow. He has found it hard enough to cope from moving north from London to Liverpool and is apparently a real home bug.

The sheep can demand what they want, doesn't mean he is worth what they say he is. There is not a chance in hell they will get anywhere near 10m.
Celtic just sold Armstrong for 6m or 7m was it not? He's been a full international for a while (friendly games that McKenna has played in really don't count) . He's also played in the Champions League and won trophies domestically.

What is the reason we are trying so hard for another centre half. Surely it can't be for cover for the money we have already spent . Are we maybe going 3 at the back in spl games.
