Do yous even know what a feeder club is they get youngsters from their parent club and have first option to buy any decent players they might have . Not a club signing loan play from numerous clubs doesn't even make sense

Conner, you're right and I fell into that trap during a previous thread myself where I said all Scottish clubs were feeder clubs which, in hindsight was inaccurate, I actually meant selling clubs. There is a clear distinction between selling clubs and feeder clubs. Selling clubs recruit young talent, give them a platform and hopefully sell them on for a profit. They may utilise the loan market too but aren't restricted to particular clubs in terms of sales or loanees. Feeder clubs reach an agreement with a particular 'parent' club whereby the parent club have first refusal on any youngsters produced by the feeder club. The parent club normally pays an annual fee for this arrangement which often includes the ability to send a certain amount of youth players on loan to gain match experience too. That's certainly my understanding of it anyway, I'm sure the eds will correct me if my assessment is wrong.

Really pleased that we are talking to this standard of player- never mind signing him!
No doubt Zelalem is some player- Don't know if I can see him playing on a cold Tuesday night in Greenock or Alloa though. Will such a skilful player get protection from some of our"hammer throwers" Interesting to see the loan maybe initially to January- someone very wise knows the game in Scotland is completely different from mid December - April -where skill takes second place due to mud bath pitches.

He is certainly a talent with a great future, but I think we should be giving game time to one of our own youngsters rather than yet another loan that has no future benefit for us.

18 Aug 2015 16:37:25
Is it just me? or is anyone else getting concerned about the amount of players we are taking on loan? these loanees will move on at the end of the season and we will be left with?? nothing except a very costly bill for playing them. The teams who have their contracts must be laughing themselves all the way to the bank, we give them experience, sell on value or bring them up to a standard to play first team football for their clubs and we get the bloody headache of trying to replace them?? this does not in anyway make sense,,, have we not learned anything from the Mcoist way of bringing in players that will in the end be no sell on value or use to the club. bloody hell we are becoming a feeder club rather than making home grown talent this is a travesty.

18 Aug 2015 17:07:51
our youngsters shoud have been giving game time from the start but ally wanted old duds to play a we sold our best young player and the ones we have just now are not up to speed just now

I have been thinking about all the wages too and worrying a little. But as for the loans I would imagine that the parent club will be paying some of the wages.

Warburton has repeatedly said that he will bring in any player who add quality to the playing squad on and OFF the pitch. These loan signings might also help develop your youth which is something you guys seem to forget. The higher the quality players at Auchenhowie the more chance we have of creating our own. No Auchenhowie youth should be given a chance unless they know there is high competition for there spot (meaning they will have to work hard to enter the squad) and that they're is always someone else just as eager to take there spot. MW has done a fantastic job with who he has signed so far in comparison to our previous windows, look at the potential sell on values of these players. Let him use his loan market contacts to find talent and who knows we might win a few more trophies this year. In Warburton I trust.

Have you ever given thought that if these loanees turn out good we might sign them later

Agree3 Disagree2

18 Aug 2015 17:21:16
Oh dear, just looked at a clip of him flicking the ball over someone's head and running on to it. He will never do in Neanderthal league. The hacks are gonnae love him.

Agree2 Disagree1

18 Aug 2015 17:22:06
I think that's an over reaction, if these 2 come in that's only 4 in total. Builds a good working relationship with top premiership teams and who know what can happen, maybe the gaffer of their clubs doesn't either want or fancy them and then you never know if they might stay, the lure of a massively supported team with European ambitions might make them think twice

Agree4 Disagree1

18 Aug 2015 17:22:50
Smh. What if these loan players play pivotal roles in securing the league and take us on a few decent cup runs. Would more or less pay for themselves. Can't believe how short sighted some people are. If they do very well for us we benefit, they benefit and the parent club benefits. Having guys like oduwa training with some of our youngsters, or Templeton even, might encourage them to up their game and push themselves to higher standards than they normally might if guys of that quality weren't there to train beside in first place. Then there is the possibility of signing these guys if the parent clubs don't renew their contracts in the future, given they will get game time here and it's incredibly difficult for youngsters to break into the first team of any of the top five or six clubs in England. If they've been here, sampled playing in front of sell outs and hopefully in a year or two European football again they'd be more inclined to return than drop down the divisions in England. Plus, loan deals are commonplace everywhere now, even within the top English clubs, so I don't see it as anything other than a positive. Oh, and we are a feeder club btw ally, all Scottish clubs are, it's how we survive financially moving forward as a whole. We need to be realistic and accept that.

Agree4 Disagree1

18 Aug 2015 17:29:53
Not necessarily we might get to by one or two No matter what lots of those younger ones will find it hard breaking into those teams

Only one in ten break into the bigger teams

Think it's good that loans are at the club, both parties are happy and creates competition for the players already at the club!

Our young players will just have to prove they're good enough

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Aug 2015 17:59:38
Ally your a wee lost soul if you think rangrrs are not a feeder club every team in Scotland is and that includes "them" chelsea signed Falcao on loan every team does this if they improve the squad helping us to win the league and in the year they are here our youth players think I wanna be as good as that and work harder then I'd that not a huge benefit plus potentially a future signing if they are released also parent clubs will pay towards their wages I could go on and on with positives but sadly even under a new exciting era some people in Scotland cling to the wee negative branch that supports them I only hope your wee branch is weak and we get rid of the negative nonsense you spout

Agree3 Disagree0

18 Aug 2015 18:08:22
we had 4 loan players last year and only one was fit to play so who was paying the wages to them so how is this any worse than that

Agree0 Disagree1

18 Aug 2015 18:25:04
I love the loan signings. Not a lot of big name players out there will want to come to us now, but more will next year, so loans right now to get us up there will be good. They will defo not break the bank like people suggest as it is part paid by parent club. Good times, well done Warburton

Agree5 Disagree0

18 Aug 2015 19:24:23
We will be paying a fraction of their wages and I doubt there is a fee to take them on loan. Honestly the negativity is out of control.

I read someone above comparing this to Ally's signing policy from last year, asking if we hadn't learned lessons. Must be on the wind up.

I totally back MW in the market. Every signing he has made so far has improved us dramatically.

And I trust the board to be prudent with the budget also. On one hand people say we should spend millions on players and on the other people are worried about loan signing wages lmao.

Have some faith, get off their back please.

Jock star and a few others well in , I don't care if we win promotion using loan players, and I wouldn't care if we won the top league using loan signings,in fact would our supporters still be moaning if we won the big euro one using loan signings,no I don't think so,it's the way all clubs are run these days, get over it.

Heard for the last few days about Swift, not looking likely now, as Warburton did say he has one more very exiting loan signing to make.I think Zelalem fills that vacancy! Would be nice to nick a young striker on loan from one of the big boys though.

He's too slow to fit into Warburtons front three. He did ok on loan last season but was posted missing in both Motherwell games when we really needed him to shine.

Wish him well - slovan Bratislava are interested in him which would be a decent move for him.

Agree2 Disagree3

18 Aug 2015 13:18:19
I would take him back in a minute. 22 years old good on the ball and looked like a good player in a very average Rangers team last season. He can score goals and always gives 100%. Don't know why some fans wouldn't want him

18 Aug 2015 13:20:59
well he cannot be any plainer or transparent with that statement

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Aug 2015 15:29:35
Ball greedy and wasteful. Yes he scored 9 goals in a short period but believe there is better talent out there that MW is trying to bring in!

Agree1 Disagree3

18 Aug 2015 16:42:57
Don't think he was greedy don't think he was wasteful as he was behind most of the good things we did last season. 9 Goals in something like 15 matches is a good return for a guy who was clearly not 100% and also playing with a poor side

Agree1 Disagree1

18 Aug 2015 18:44:12
I was maybe a bit harsh but I think there were times where he has the opportunity to lay it on to others but tried 2 touches too much and the chance was over. The team at the moment have gelled and playing really well, I don't see where Harris would fit in. I also think its the end for Temps with all these loan attacking wingers we are signing!

One of the eds posted on the liverpool site that Rangers have been enquiring about taking a few of their players on loan, mentioned Yesil(st) and Ryan Kent(am/wing)

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, but Kent looks unlikely. Yesil is possible, he has struggled with injury and, because of that, form. He needs a loan and a fresh start.}

According to Glasgow evening times MW has ruled out a move for Haris Vuckic. Also John Swift of Chelsea is expected to sign a season long loan deal.

18 Aug 2015 10:57:14
John swift is a midfielder and by the sounds of it a talented one but do we really need another midfielder? I make it that we have 14 midfielders/wingers including thompson and Murdoch and the two on loan from tottenham aswell as Eustace who looks set to sign. In my opinion we need a full back and a target man or poacher and that will be us sorted.

18 Aug 2015 13:22:47
the mere fact that he played 31 games in spain in last season means he cannot be a bad player I would think
