if rangers are getting punished for EBT'S,what about Campbell Ogilvie? he benifited from thisscheme!!! dougie

Believable44 Unbelievable4

He needs to go as well as regan because it seems that he did his own investigation on him and said he is safe.....well spl fans dont just want rangers/the rangers/club12 to be punished but a whole clean sweep of the corruptness this means the sfa/spl board members such as ogilvie and regan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't like to have to do his laundry. Bet his erse is making chocolate buttons!

Agree0 Disagree0

..All teams in the spl should be investigated as regards dual contracts and use of ebts..for reasons of clarity..if they dont do this how do we know the league is clean..

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers cannot get punished they are liquidated

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like spl have evidence of this the old club could lose 7 titles

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm pretty certain Juninho was on an EBT while at Celtic in a year that they won the SPL although I have no idea if that EBT was definitely used illegally.

BB

Agree0 Disagree0

If there are any double contracts then thye will be punished.Notrhing wrong with EBT's if it was written in their contracts that they were going to receive them.

Agree0 Disagree0

The SPL signed off Rangers accounts. The were fully aware that EBTs were being used For them to remove titles and punish Rangers over this would suggest that they have no idea what they are doing!!

Agree0 Disagree0

3rd poster as a celtic fan i totaly agree

Agree0 Disagree0

He has already said he would step down should he be found guilty

Agree0 Disagree0

On the basis of a 1 hour interview?
they have evidence?
no hearing - straight to sanctions?
On a club that no longer exists?

sounds like another SPL/SFA feck up to me?

bil72

Agree0 Disagree0

"Rangers cannot get punished they are liquidated"

Retrospective stripping of titles and expelled for oldco, liquidation or not. Any expulsion needs to be carried forward to Newco or loophole will be created allowing clubs to liquidate and reapply in future to avoid suspension or expulsion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cambell Ogilvie was one of dozens why single him out clear the mist and look at the list.

Agree0 Disagree0

EBT s used by other clubs but all taxes were paid that is the diff....Rangers paid no taxes...also made payments to people no longer with the club, Mr Souness for example...Jane

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtics ebt was used and declared in his contract however one of the directors didnt like the look of it and ended up paying the full amount upfront without the use of the ebt

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic looked ito the ebt and paid up widh we done the same total greed

Agree0 Disagree0

Op what about the sainted wattie ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers are being punished for double contracts used in the ebts not for the ebts themselves thats the taxman whos dealing with the ebts

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jun 2012 20:02:15
As a Rangers fan i'm quite happy if the club gets dumped into the 3rd division. After the double contracts, admin etc etc the club deserves it.An extra bonus would be if we could shed all the bigots and half wits who scream about the Queen, King Billy and religion every weekend. These idiots have embarrassed the club and Scotland for decades. They continue to behave and live as if in the dark ages. New Rangers= New supporters ...Leave the bigoted, Unionist, hate filled cretins with the old.In with the new...

Believable64 Unbelievable28

WELL SAID!mprob the most rational posting i hae seen in mounths, finally some ppl are understanding and the eyes are opened to what the former club did and was all about.

Agree0 Disagree0

As a Celtic fan got to say if that was the opinion of rangers fans in general I would welcome the rangers straight into the spl well said mate

Agree0 Disagree0

And good luck to you and every REAL gers fan who wants to lose these idiots.Time the bigots, from both sides fkd off.............green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!

Source: Independence Day 1996 (before EBTs)

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said. An honest sensible true rangers supporter. I'm a Celtic fan and wish they would get rid of the bigots too. Your a star,

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, but these clowns will always be with us. Take the punishment, do it with a bit of dignity and move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am a Celtic fan as well and would like the similar element of our support tgtf as well but will never happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is progress!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree totally. Im a Rangers fan through and through but a bigot, zelot, cretin I am not. I would love all bigots from both sides to disappear forever.
WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

As a life-long Rangers fan I have to say I couldn't agree more with the OP. however, unfortunately, the bigotry is never going to go away whilst there are still Celtic fans and an old firm, as lets face it both sides of the old firm are as bad as each other. It takes 2 to tango as they say! So, whilst the post from the Celtic fan who says they would welcome Rangers straight back into SPl if all Gers fans had a similar mentality as OP, then hate to say mate that ain't ever going to happen as long as Celtic fans stay with the mentality they have e.g. Tricolours, Irish connections, etc etc. get my point? ! ? It needs both sides to be rid of the nonesense, the bigoted, deep-rooted past. And I have to say, unfortunately, I don't ever think that will happen in my lifetime?! But I hope I'm proven wrong! Rangers are an easy target right now, but both clubs are to blame with regards to this point I'm afraid! Jay

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on mate, couldnt agree more, but unfortunately if you posted this on rm or ff you would get slaughtered, better just going to support your local team.jj

Agree0 Disagree0

Best post I have read!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a Celtic fan and I applaud your comments ! both our clubs have elements that we don't need in our game. If nothing else comes out of rangers situation Scottish football needs to remember our game is about kicking a ball, scoring goals and entertaining people who would love to pull on the jersey of the teams we support.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great post mate, I am a Celtic fan and I to would welcome The Rangers back into the SPL if this was the opinion of the fans, also eradicate the same minded people from our fan base as well

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said mate. I'm a Jags fan with no love for either of the old firm and I gave up supporting Celtic many years ago because of their bammers so it's nice to see someone speaking sense on here.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally. Agree. This debacle. May turn out to b a blessing in disguise let's make this anew start. For a new rangers no more of the old. Bigoted. Crap. Let's go forward with pride

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree with OP BUT there would only be 10000 at home matches - you really think all the buses leaving Dundee Falkirk and Lockerbie are full of football fans free from sectarianism?

Agree0 Disagree0

As a Celtic fan I want the same at park head, get rid of these pro ira songs which just embarrass the club,

Agree0 Disagree0

As a celtic fan it would be great to see this and hopefully it would kill the I** side of the celtic support

Agree0 Disagree0

As a Celtic fan that used to sing our bile,i couldnt agree more, time to leave these neanderthals in the past,on both sides, great post sir

Agree0 Disagree0

As a Celtic fan this new rangers would get my backing. The idiots who support Celtic and chant outdated nonsense should be dealt with as well.

my fear for rangers is trying to untangle a good Scottish club from the extremists who have hijacked it will not be easy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why should celtic get rid of tri colours and the irish connection? They were set up as a charity for Irish immigrants. Can never lose the Irish connection.

Agree0 Disagree0

@Jay; Im sorry but your wrong.Ireland is a fundamental part of the history and founding of Celtic. To try and make that a sectarian issue is wrong...........green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Applause ccccc Bigotry is a cancer and has to be eradicated .anyperson in their right mind knows that ."teach your children well' as the song goes. geo

Agree0 Disagree0

I notice todate only those who agree have had the courage to post their support.
I wonder why the many who disagree with the OP are having difficulty in explaining their position.

I worry about a character and personality that seeks status through bigotry. Feeling good about yourself at the expense of others is a cowards response to low self esteem.

Anorak congratulates the decent people who speak out against bigotry.

Agree0 Disagree0

Parkhead is one word, so called celtic fan

Agree0 Disagree0

I am a celtic fan. Moved seats at celtic park last year due to foul mouthed bigoted morons.the supporters are the twelfth man. Likewise there should be yellow and red cards for them too. Points deductions for every offensive song.would be an equaliser for the other teams and repel the bams on both sides. Tolerance and multiculturilsm defeating secterianism of the
lowest order. Hail hello hail hello. X

Agree0 Disagree0

I do agree with the post & don't like the idiots who sing like that etc however every club has a section of clowns that spoil it for the rest of the good lot. I also would take Div 3 just want a Rangers to follow & a team to be proud off!

Agree0 Disagree0

Great to see the real bears having a comment its a load of bo l ks keep religion far away from our new club

Agree0 Disagree0

You get idiots everywhere boot them out end of im rangers daft after every old firm all the boys would meet up including celtic pals would be gutted if ya got beat loved it when we won give a bit of stick few beers a laugh no bigotry no ill feeling that what fitbaws about time both clubs moved on

Agree0 Disagree0

This topic has always been swept under the carpet the old club tried its best you always get the idiots in both clubs ours seemed to attract more for some reason rangers fc was founded for football for sport nothing else 4 lads had a stoll in the park and came up with the idea it was nothing to do with religion rangers fc even donated money to the building of a roman catholic school near edinburgh through the 1920s the club was hijacked with unionist sympathies which is never good in sport politics this should have remained at the gates unfortunatly the bigots thrived which done the club no favours it could be argued it was the 90 minute bigot time has moved on since those days i agree its time to move on forward lets build a new club that all in society can be welcolme lets show the world the newco can be a success as a fan im deeply sorry the way it has turned out and at times have been ashamed of the club over the last year hope this can be a start in building a bridge and give our new club a chance even if it means div 3 lastly im deeply upset that creditors and shareholders lost money
lets step up and do scotland proud
gutted bear

Agree0 Disagree0

This is a wake up call for all of scottish football and not just celtic/rangers. there is just as much hatred amongst other clubs supporters but the fact that the old firm are the two biggest and the two most vocal we stand out more.
there is no need for bigotory secteranism racism in football, but some supporters are so intent on their vile way it brings our clubs into shame.
no harm in having a joke and having a banter but when it leads to being offensive and threatning with intent, these supporters need to be removed from football.
well said everyone, lets talk about football, sporting integrity and fairness and no more talk about secteranism and bigotry and hate, let football do the talking and keep the ball on the park and not front pages of newspapers

Agree0 Disagree0

Great post

Agree0 Disagree0

Could not agree more. As a young Celtic fan I used to sing all the songs. I never really knew what they were about but I thought it was fun and I was part of great crowd. Whe I matured a bit I realised that it was pathetic to sing about murderers, bombers etc. as if they were heroes. They had nothing to do with football and that is what I was wanting to see. I support ALL Scottish clubs in Europe. Well said and it is good to see likeminded Tims posting their agreements.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great post and great toi see so many others from all teams supporting the thought, if only it were that easy, i am ok if rangers end up in div 3, just want there to b a rangers to support, lets all look forward instead of being stuck in the past

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully if we started from the bottom the bigots wouldn't bother following rangers as alot seem to be glory hunters...... Would be good to see a huge march with Celtic and rangers fans standing together and protest against bigots show the world that after a game of football we are all Scottish united and proud

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't agree more with the OP. Time to take down the Union Jack at Ibrox. I think there are a lot of fans that'd return to Rangers if we could get rid of the Loyalist bigots.
Why should supporting Rangers be about being a Unionist, Monarchist protestant?

It's time to move on: we should treat this as an opportunity for a fresh, inclusive, Scottish start. Let Celtic sing all about their Troubles and wave their Irish flags if they want to; we should rise above it.

Agree0 Disagree0

If I could take my son to watch Rangers without worrying that he would be subjected to having to listen to foul mouthed bigots, I'd go and watch Rangers, which ever league they were in. I'm ashamed to say when I was younger, I did sing sectarian songs, thinking it was clever and funny .... if my son sang them now, I'd be furious with him. I haven't been to Ibrox for a few years, because of the bigots, we need to let them know they aren't wanted, no matter where we end up playing. I applaud the post and believe this is a more important issue than which league we're going to be in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said! I loved the banter between the 2 clubs, but this is a chance for us to start again, we will see the true fans soon, and if need be in Div 3, perfect! Take what's due to us like real Rangers men! And am sure we will meet the other-side in the cup! (if we are allowed in it)

Agree0 Disagree0

The way forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

Speaking as an Aberdeen fan (life long), I think the only real reason why there is so much ill feeling to Rangers (and let's be honest Celtic as well), is the bigotry associated with both teams.

Being honest again, I know that the perception is far from reality. 99% of fans of the old firm are not bigots, however, if there is a positive, then perhaps starting again from the bottom and weeding out the 'fans' who drag down Rangers is not such a bad thing.

If "The Rangers Football Club" start again at the bottom, and, reach the heights again in the next decade, I for one will take my hat off and say, well done, you took your punishment and came back the bigger and better team for it.

Everybody deserves a second chance in life, it is not the players or the staff's fault, it is the directors and those who owned the team.

Good luck to Rangers on July 4th.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with the OP, unfortunately it will never happen. Can't help but think there is a silent majority who believe this, but once the vocal minority start their nonsense everyone around them rather than telling them to shut up feels compelled to join in or be accused of being 'Timmy', so it appears to be a majority who are idiots. Not saying it's right, but now that Rangers has died I think I will be switching to supporting a smaller local side as I don't want to be associated with these filth anymore and I'm embarrassed to tell people I followed Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am Rangers through and through, but in recent times I have found it very hard to justify why I still do it? Your post has helped me in terms of decency.
I do expect that creditors are paid, it goes against all that I think Rangers stand for not to pay your way?
Small businesses have been left out of pocket to pay extreme salaries, how wrong is that. As for not paying HMRC; just unbelievable; David Murray you are the worst thing ever to happen at Rangers? You are not a fit person etc etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets be honest it isnt just celtic and rangers so points deductions wouldnt even anything out. This must go beyond celtic and rangers or weve only stopped the most obvious symptom.
Its about time the fans of all teams stood up to bigotry, right behind it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Excellent post. Celtic and Rangers fans have united in noble causes in the past. Ibrox disaster springs to mind and I well remember the wait to see if my dad was coming home that day. Thankfully he did. A new Rangers team that shows good sportsmanship; is fair minded and upholds the rules; is inclusive; is family orientated; this is the brighter future. Seize the moment. Jokes and leg pulling are a positive aspect of healthy rivalry. But what we have all had to put up with in recent years is uncivilized. This could be a cleansing process.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post. Celtic fan of no religion speaking here, I droped my eldest son off at the local Nursery/Primary School 2 weeks ago and was walking back with
my youngest who is only 2 when a guy walking towards me with a boy around 5yrs stopped what he was saying, then when he thought I was past far
enough continued what he was saying "I‏n Ireland every year 50,000 orange men march...". I continued on home so didnt catch any more, I dont know the guy or
from what perspective he was describing this to a 5 year old. My point is while the clubs have at times over the years may have benefited from the bigotry
in terms of large numbers or followers there is still only so much they can do to eradicate it, it starts at home!

I would like to take my boys aged 4&2 to Parkhead but sad as it is I wont, its better now than it used too be but there are still too many idiots. I would
prefer they werent labelled Celtic or Rangers. Im thinking I will take them to the local team (Accies) and then they can make up their own mind or continue
as Accies fans. Hopefully they will have an indepence and strength of mind to make a choice of their own. I have known fans of teams outside the old firm
to be just as bad in their bigotry as some "old firm" fans so just hope Accies are ok in this respect.

(At least I wont be getting charged World Class and getting delivered average - 130 season for adult and 2 under 10's)

Agree0 Disagree0

As a rangers fan im really glad this topic has been aired its so stupid these songs to a bygone age are old hat i like some of the new songs we had last season penny arcade and the moses mcneil song i always felt a bit uneasy with some of the old songs its not till your older and realise what they mean some of my best freinds are rc and some of our players are rc i dont care what anybody is as long as they are good people ive been called a f.....m b ...stf and o r ge b....st in the past after an old firm game there are bigots everywhere sadly its time scotland moved forward thank you to the decent bears you have done us proud and the celtic fans too keep it up lads lets have a new begining spread the word to fellow bears i cant comment on celtic its up to their fans

Rangers players rumoured to be on the move source taken from various English forums.

Sasa Papac - Cardiff City £0
David Healy - Sheff W £0
Sone Aluko - Charlton £0
Salim Kerkar - Brentford £0
Andrew Little - Oxford United £0
Andrew Mitchell - Bury £0

Believable34 Unbelievable29

Wasn't papac leaving anyway? {Ed039's Note - I think they are all free agents anyway)

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously aluko to charlton? Must be a laugh. He was best player in spl last season and would walk into teams like norwich, wigan, sunderland, etc.
Just really hope we hold on to him.

Agree0 Disagree0

You state Rangers players... they are out of contract & Rangers have no players. The Rangers have a few (maybe)

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but charlie mulgrew was the best player in the spl last year hands down

Agree0 Disagree0

You should be sorry. Aluko ran a mock, even the bbc in their skills of the season video the first three or four skills was aluko making a mockery of opponents, including him taking the p*ss out the celtic defence.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oxford Utd??? He must really want out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is Healy overpriced at 0 ????

Agree0 Disagree0

Aluko was a decent player who had good gamed and bad games. He will soon be long forgotten. If he was Rangers class no wonder your team are down the pan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why did the administrators not try and sell these players to get money for the creditors. this whole thing stinks.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope some of them guys stay, little and aluko in particular, they are better than teams like oxford and charlton, healy wasnt as bad as got made out and would give anything for the gers, kerkar had potential and seems wasted going to brentford, might as well play div 3 than there

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe because the club entered admin. on Valentine's Day (post closure of Jan transfer window), and they're now out of contract as we reach the summer window? Would have been a drop in the ocean anyway. The main creditors taking it hard are the Revenue and TIcketus- try and no let it keep you up nights.

So Ed which of our players will jump ship first? I'm thinking Naismith to Everton? {Ed039's Note - Goian in my opinion, he is already making noises)

Believable21 Unbelievable10

There's a post on the club12 site saying Lafferty is down in Burnley talking over a move

The ship sunk last Thursday.

SPL lawyers have decided Rangers have a case to answer over EBT's. How many bites at Rangers do they really want
1 Deducted ten points
2 Fined £160,000
3 No CVA, applying to play in SPL (looking doubtful)
4 Yet to be decided about signing new players

We had to be punished no one disagrees with that but how many times?

Believable26 Unbelievable21

Seems fair to me all that cheating must be punished? Jimi jambo :-$

Agree0 Disagree0

Its different punishments for each instance of rule breaking. If its one punishment you after then kicking you out the Scottish game is the only recourse

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry bud but your are being punished for DIFFERENT things, not one single event. No CVA is your own fault and is NOT a punishment. 10 point deduction was for going into admin, again self-inflicted. Stop bleating on and on about how it is so unfair. A question for you bears though. If you had taken up the shares issue instead of leaving DM (note no sir there) to fund it himself (well another 50 mill loan!), would you have got to this position? Have a look at yourselves in all this.. Scott

Agree0 Disagree0

Too many sanctions against rangers already clubs against rangers as we are the team they fear the most the word jealous comes to mind

Agree0 Disagree0

Bentdner got fined 80,000 For dropping his shorts and showing an unofficial sponsor on his pants as well as getting a one match ban. You guys are very lucky to be getting off so lightly !
Liah Smit

Agree0 Disagree0

It's dragging out because RFC have denied or hindered investigations relating to any wrong doing at any turn. If they had been up front and put hands up.........

Agree0 Disagree0

I suppose that depends on how many infractions they discover...

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets look logically at this

1 deducted 10 points (legitimate punishment for going into administration)
2 160,000 fine (legitimate if somewhat lenient punishment for not paying remittance to HMRC as due thus gaining a sporting advantage
3. No CVA as enough money to appease creditors could not be raised (Not a punishment just an outcome of poor business practice
4. Transfer embargo (A punishment designed to avoid the necessity to suspend or terminate Rangers Membership
5. Reapplying to the SPL (This is not the case, RFC is to be liquidated a new club TRFC is making an initial application to join SPL
6 Dual contracts/Illegal payments is a further contravention of the rules which requires appropriate action for the integrity of the game

Agree0 Disagree0

Up till just now Newco have got of very lightly.

Agree0 Disagree0

What punishments and sanctions have rangers had ?? ten points was standard for entering admin last year ... liquidation is not a punishment its your own clubs fault the transfer ban was lifted at court and uefa ban is not a ban its the rules to play in europe you have to be up and running for three years rangers by putting their selfs into liquidation dont meet that criteria again thats not a punishment any damage thats been done to rangers themselfs they not had one punishment yet

Agree0 Disagree0

You haven't been punished yet for them,,,,you've Been finished as rfc for debt...ebt are different matter...trfc will carry the ongoing punishment for this under the laws of this former directors and players will be held accountable

Agree0 Disagree0

Depends, how many offences have the former club committed?

By the way, who's they?

Stop looking elsewhere for people to blame and look for those who have been cheating on Rangers' behalf for over a decade. If it was Celtic you would want the book thrown, no questions asked.

54 to 0.

I would just like to congratulate Celtic on winning 12 in a row.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye they are all shouting about our history being dead but on the other hand want to punish us for the old clubs behaviour. I hope they do punish us for the ebts and dual contracts because then there stupidity will over rule and there argument about it being not the same rangers is redundant!

Gers1986

Agree0 Disagree0

I would suggest they get punished for each misdemeanour they committed. I would see that as being fair.

Agree0 Disagree0

OP, why don't you get a dictionary and check the difference between punishment and consequence. An unpaid fine is the only punishment so far.
Al

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we are all very jellyous! of rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would fans of other clubs pipe down about "got off lightly" and the rest of the drivel! The club deserves punishment however those responsible for the law-breaking are long gone from our club and THEY are the one that must be held should be accountable for any illegal EBT activity etc. I speak for the vast majority of fans that have put money into their club when I say we are not cheats and we are the ones that have been cheated.

Agree0 Disagree0

More times I'd say! Years and years of ripping people off, ripping companies off, ripping the tax man off, ripping the SPL/SFA off, ripping other football clubs off, ripping fans off. The old Rangers cheated endlessly and are a disgrace and an embarrassment to Rangers fans, if more punishment is due for EBT's and dual contracts then it is welcomed. If you can't do the time don't do the crime.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers are being punished on each individual issue.

Agree0 Disagree0

How many times?
Scottish football fans including the honest rangers fans should be asking How many Crimes?
So maybe the answer lies there if we stop finding out things then we could stop expecting action to be taken against your club

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers season ticket holders put their money into the old rangers no one yet has put one penny into the new club so you cant even call yourselves season ticket holders yet

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree. Just how much do the others wish to twist the knife? It isn't as if we started World War III. In business, companies go bust for one reason or another. Sure, it is a shame that other clubs are owed money but that is hardly the fault of fans and players. Yes 'punish' by fining and perhaps dropping one tier than for God's sake leave it alone!

Agree0 Disagree0

And it gos on and on and on even in death they are still causeing drama .the whole of scotland sees the 4july justice day for cheating and we are going to skelp you bears in to the 3rd division sayno to newco is being going for weeks its no to new co sleep easy :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Every crime committed by Rangers will be punished in the appropriate manner by the body who's law or rule has been violated, Rangers will continue to rack up punishments for some time to come ,many will be purely as a deterrent to other clubs since Rangers will be history, dry your eyes and get behind The Rangers and we'll maybe see you in 3 yrs ( or probably 1 after SFA make SPL2 to parachute you into)

Agree0 Disagree0

I think youll find that other companies that go into liquidation dont expect a fine and told to carry on

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you remember the spoof " Airplane " , when everyone was queuing up to slap the hysterical passenger.

Anorak.

Agree0 Disagree0

Companies & football clubs are different entities, like apples & oranges

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers have committed some of the worst and longest running serious breaches of the rules European football has seen (not taking Italy into account of course!). If there are dual contracts as has been suggested the punishment should be a 3-0 defeat for every game rangers have played over the past 10 years - Just ask Sion. Walking away from debts of over 100m and so far the only punishment seems to be adding 'The' to the name and feeling hard done to?
In addition, the threatening reaction to any sanction (we want their names, we will remember which clubs spoke against us etc) has been equally disgraceful. I genuinely feel sorry for the supporters who have been shafted by their leaders and misled by supposedly 'rangers minded' journalists who have only cover up the abuses as they ate SDM's lamb. However, rangers have reacted like the City of London bankers who have brought the economy to the brink then tell us they can stop apologising now. I've still not heard an apology from either!

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not the company that is being fined, it is the football club

Agree0 Disagree0

How many times? Well, how many crimes? You (Rangers supporters) did nothing wrong but you took all the glory/kudos/financial gain, etc that went with those crimes. You gloated and basked in the results brought about by that cheating. Do you show any remorse for "the glory years"? Nah! Do you seriously expect anyone to believe that if ( it were another) SPL team you'd be asking for leniency for them or not to punish their fans? You'd be up there as part of the most vocal and vitriolic fans bating for blood. Dry your tears and take all of your punishment. After all, you are the people!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are you still selling football tops with the fake stars on, grow up and take your punishment, we would all have more respect for you if you did instead of poor me. East Fife fan BTW, Not Celtic and just in case you think I am something else, I am not that either.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's called justice.

Agree0 Disagree0

I smell fear I think. If you do the crime then do the time. If the old Rangers are found guilty of double contracts then this is a different crime to non payment of tax etc.
This is cheating your way to titles and cups!
I think you will find a few tainted titles will be lopped off the spurious "world record" that old club held.

Agree0 Disagree0

1. Deducted 10 points that made no difference to Rangers at all.
2. Fined 160,000 that has not been paid and never will.
3. No CVA? Not a punishment at all!
4. No new players. That was overturned in the court!
In short Rangers have yet to actually be punished one iota for anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 point deduction. Made no difference.
Fined 160k. liquidated so not paid.
No cva. this is not a punishment. you owe people 10s of millions, the creditors have been punished.
New signings. You have no league to play in so you don't need pkayers yet. You provably have no cash to buy any even if you need to.

You have not been punished at all, not by a long way. sadly rfc no longer exists so any chance of punishing the people involved is now gone.

The new co Will be as welcome as a fart in a space suit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope the double contacts are not true this could mean the old rangers could have titles cups honours removed fielding players we could not afford i want the truth as a fan we are due that at least this has serious implications a form of cheating could mean more sanctions

Agree0 Disagree0

You get 'punished' for each offence...

1 Deducted ten points - Penalty for going into administration to protect the club from creditors.
2 Fined 160,000 - For failure to pay HMRC is due.
3 No CVA - Not a punishment, an outcome.
4 Yet to be decided about signing new players - Doesn't matter (see below)

IMO newclub shouldn't be held accountable for oldclubs wrongs.
By the same token newclub have NO right to play in the SPL next season, its SFL 3 for them.
They have no audited accounts (and can't have they are new), that is an automatic disbarment from the SPL.
IF they intend to use oldclubs accounts THEN newclub SHOULD be held accountable for oldclubs wrongs.
You can't have it both ways!

Agree0 Disagree0

What further sanctions are available? After this board meeting on July 4th when it's established where Rangers are playing, they're hardly then gonna suspend a playing licence or whatever (never heard so much tosh in my life anyway). If severe points penalties were handed down for a protracted period the spl also looks ridiculous to the outside world.

The folk who blather on about factually Rangers have had few punishments before rattling off their exciting wee list with such glee can clearly see that in effect Rangers have been punished. They get in a bit of a panic because this view will become popular. If it's start again in division 3- fair enough. This is certainly preferable to remaining in the spl as a cash cow to be milked by the rest, with draconian penalties meaning we can't really compete for the next how ever long. The "sporting integrity" everyone's so precious about somewhat goes out the window there. If it's division 3, there won't be anything else obviously. Try to put yourself in the position of an objective outsider looking in on our game for once and no just a Rangers-hater if you honestly think any different too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Re post about hoping dual contracts are not true...well matey they are, and not only will Club 12 be stripped of titles and cups during this period and not only that someone along the line will be liable for compensation for clubs who never got the chance to play in europe because of fielding ineligable players......The Reaper

When is this SFA appeal panel sitting
on the 12 month transfer embargo
fiasco? Are they going to hold off now
until Jul 4th and see the outcome of
the SPL vote on the newco ?

Believable13 Unbelievable1

Transfer embargo doesn't stand for newco as all Celtic fans remind us it ain't rangers anymore its a newco.

Agree0 Disagree0

The SFA now expect The Rangers to fail in their bid to get the 8 votes. By ensuring any ruling from them is after the refusal of the share transfer they hope that the only sanction that will be required by them will be the removing of previous titles. The SFA master plan is to let Celtic, Dundee Utd and Aberdeen muster votes against the newco to deflect the blame from their door.
This will also make the holding of registrations mute as the newco without a share has been advised by their brief's to make no attempt to prevent player movements under freedom of contract.
Players being advised to sit tight and let it all evolve, agents already securing deals elsewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

When are we going to get a watch football {Ed039's Note - Euro 2012 is on TV every night lol)

To my understanding ban dies with the old club ? Cp

Agree0 Disagree0

Did Mr Green not put in an appeal against the court of session ruling( even though rangers won the case) stating will withdraw the appeal on day of the hearing in attempt to suspend any hearing by the appleate to beyond liquidation date....might be incorrect

Agree0 Disagree0

The transfer embargo is the least of Rangers worries at the moment. The newco is not a registered football team and cannot sign players unless it enters a league. And all the signs are that it will not be the SPL.
Even if Green wanted (and had the money) to sign anyone, who will come to a club out of Europe, playing in SFL3 if they are lucky, and where the present players are likely to walk away soon ?
And with the SPL enquiry into illegal EBTs hanging over them too ?
Better to keep quiet about it, if the appeal panel does sit again, they will only do so to impose sanctions as severe or worse than the transfer ban.

Agree0 Disagree0

Poster 5 is correct, you appealed the appeal decision!?! So it wouldnt be decided till after the cva had failed. Not only is the world against you but you are against yourselves.

SPL say Rangers have a case to answer regarding player payment and once their future status is clarified disciplinary measures will be applied.

Believable18 Unbelievable2

At this rate the newco will be going into liquidation before it has even kicked a ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't like the sound of disciplinary action WILL be applied rather than MAY be applied.

On a connected point, somebody has brought up the possibilty that if Walter Smith had been in receipt of an EBT and involved with players on dual contracts then he wouldn't pass a due diligence test if he returned to Ibrox as part of a consortium to replace Green's consortium.

Time for Walter to hopefully dispel he was involved with EBTs or else admit to it and bring it into the open so it doesn't look like he has been hiding anything. BB

Agree0 Disagree0

Hence their acceptance into the SPL as a Newco, thereby securing the old Rangers registration which means they do not need to apply to the SFL for a new one, prior to automatic relegation to the first division as punishment for dual contracts (straight swap with Dunfermline) to appease the fans who will quite rightly be up in arms about Rangers being accepted back in at all.

The SPL chairmen may see this as the closest thing to a win/win situation for them and their fans: Rangers punished for their misdemeanours via relegation (same as Juventus received for match fixing and possibly with a similar points deduction) whilst only being demoted one division satisfies the money men at the clubs as there would be a high chance of a return within one season (as Juventus achieved). I think they may have misjudged the reaction this will receive from all sides personally, if that is indeed the intention. On a separate note it also throws up the question of history retention again as if the Newco is being censured for the mismanagement of the Oldco then they must assume there is a continuation of the clubs existence and therefore the history? Otherwise why would the Newco be held to account if it is, in essence, an entirely new club? We have been saying this for months mow but it may all become clearer in the next few weeks, lol.

Brian

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Brian surely then we must keep our history if we are punished

Agree0 Disagree0

But the EBT mean Rangers fielded incorrectly registered players so ALL competitive games results cancelled and awarded 3-0 against Rangers. League positions recalculated: prize mony recalculated: Scottish cup awarded to Q O S :then penalty element for cheating.

Agree0 Disagree0

The History is gone now forget it and stop being purile.
And yes newco will quite rightly be punished. But still no history. If it sounds harsh unfair or illogical talk to the 276 financial victims, the UK taxpayers and the SPL clubs you stole 5 titles from.

Agree0 Disagree0

Apologies for the length ed but I have had it with all this 'victims' nonsense from no-name posters.

And you call me childish, lol. I have been a creditor in a liquidation case. Have you? I received 3.54 back from the 1,200 and odd I was owed by the company involved about a year and a half after the event. I was in the premises conducting business the day before, just as I had done for the previous ten years, and when I went in to collect my order the following day I was told by the one remaining member of staff, whom I knew well, that the company had went into liquidation that morning without any prior warning and all the staff, who knew nothing about it, had been sent home and told not to come back. The guy was clearly devastated. Needless to say my product hadn't arrived (allegedly - I still think the liquidator lied to me to this day and pocketed the return of my product for the benefit of the larger creditors, of which there were apparently many) and the 'liquidator', who was standing at the counter, informed me that I would receive papers through the post with which to process a claim to get some, not all, of my money back. I steadfastly refused to cash the cheque when it came in out of principal and it is still sitting in my top drawer as a reminder to me. Was I angry about it? Hell yeah! To take a trip down memory lane for a moment and create a b**tardised amalgamation of Stone Cold and the Rock (careful about witty retorts relating to maturity and wrestling as your beloved Ed007, whom I have a lot of time and respect for, is the moderator of the wrestling forum on this site): if I could have got my hands on the owner at the time I would have opened up a can of whoopass on his candy ass. However, an alternative business which met my needs (and employed the majority of the staff who were sent packing which I was pleased about) opened in the same premises shortly after, and I have been successfully conducting my business with them for the past four years (cash on delivery though, being honest, as I refuse to pay in advance for anything nowadays having been burnt once). Did I ask the new owner for a free product to the equivalent value of what I was owed, for my money back in full, or to apologise for what the previous company did? They sold almost the exact same products from the exact same premises with almost exactly the same staff after all. No I didn't. Why? Because I am adult and intelligent enough to know that the new owner and company had no legal responsibilities for, or ties to, the previous one despite the similarities. Believe me, if it was the same charlatan rubbing my nose in it then the can would have been getting well and truly opened up until I had got my monies worth with interest. It's what grown ups call business and sometimes sxxx happens, as unpleasant as it is for the 'victims' at the time.

We would only remain Rangers, and quite rightly be held liable and accountable for previous mismanagement, if the history is retained. Pure and simple. By your illogical logic you would expect a new, entirely innocent (at least of Rangers' previous misdemeanours) owner of a brand NEW club (i.e. retaining no history related to the old club as you say) to keep on paying for the debts and crimes of the previous club that just so happened to play and train in the same venues they are about to.

If you really want to see me being puerile (the correct spelling of the word incidentally) try this one on for size. I have just discovered that the person that you bought your house from was a murderer who escaped conviction by running off to a non extradition country. That's okay though as I am about to call the police and have you charged with the offence. Somebody has to do time for the crime, there is an innocent victim here who deserves retribution and his family deserves recompense after all, and you have a clear connection to the guy. After all, you live in the same house he did so you must be guilty as charged! I am sure you would go quietly and without complaint, even when the family sued you for their loss and requested the death penalty once they had squeezed every last penny out of you. yeah right, I am sure you would.

You are right in one regard though, there are a lot of immature posters on here. Isn't it about time you grew up a little bit yourself? Guilty of double contracts then strike them (and only them) from the record books, I will help you. For the financial mismanagement issues then chase Whyte (tax) and Murray (EBT's), I and the majority of the Rangers support will help you out there too. Unless Rangers remain in the SPL (which the majority of don't want anyway) with the same registration and their history intact it should end there.

Brian

Apologies again for the length Ed but this no-name on his whiter than white (no we didn't diddle the taxman for years by giving false attendance figures - well actually we just weren't stupid enough to get caught) moral charger really got my goat for some reason.

Agree0 Disagree0

"The History is gone now forget it and stop being purile"

If this history is gone then tell me why is the newco being punished. In your opinion it is acceptable to hold the newco responsible for the failings of the past the history but yet you say the achievements on the field are gone. Where is the logic in that?
Now as far as the dual contract issue goes did this give us a financial edge? The way Murray borrowed money there is an argument that he would just have borrowed more to give the players the salaries they wanted this part is hearsay and speculation and would love to see someone prove it right or wrong. SPL say Rangers have a prima facie case to answer now its up to them to prove it.

SPL says Rangers have case to answer over use of EBTs
The Scottish Premier League says Rangers have "a prima facie case to answer in respect of [league] rules" over payments to players.

Rangers were investigated over alleged player payments outside of contract.

"Disciplinary charges will be brought when the future status of Rangers FC is clarified and prior to the start of season 2012/13," said an SPL spokesman.

Meanwhile, SPL member clubs will vote on whether a newco Rangers should be admitted to the league on 4 July.

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Every club that played Rangers over the period where they paid their players payments that were outwith the tax rules should voice their opinion. Many clubs were put to the sword by Rangers international players and now we know why. They should have the fake stars removed from the jerseys and be forced to apologise for cheating.

SPL Now say RFC Newco liable for Dual Contract misdemeanors made by Oldco.
But will not punish them in advance of their league destination being decided.

So just when you thought things couldn't get more contrived and ridiculous, we
are facing a situation where we might admitted to a league and get thrown
out of it - before even playing a single game.

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Bearing in mind the SFA described the non payment of PAYE as just short of match fixing but not quite bad enough for suspension or expulsion, the guilty find on double contracts today takes it to the next level, in that players were not eligible to play in league and cup games due to non filing of contracts. Due to the long time period involved, a suspension can't be applicable, it has to be expulsion.

It can and should be applied to Newco because if you don't, you leave a loophole where a club could liquidate and reapply to avoid an expulsion or suspension in the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ofcoarse their liable ...they are taken over the players contracts its simple

Agree0 Disagree0

KARMA is a bitch, maybe the fans and the club should have acted in the right way instead of the hate and threats on inocent ppl....sorry for the true decent fans but it seems the bad ones always out numbered yous.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's more procedural than contrived.

If 'The Rangers' are able to achieve the votes required for a transfer of the spl share then a condition will be thr transfer of any football related debts and sanctions. If they are unsuccessful then as a newco in the sfl having entered the senior game on a new 'share' then there will be nothing to carry over. Pretty simple really, The Rangers can't have their cake and eat it!
Nobody wants to be the body to do what is obviously going to happen inspire of the commercial realities. The SFA/SPL are relying on the clubs to do the dirty deed.
Best case, but hugely problematic in the timeframe, is a share in a new setup that could be considered unconnected to the old club so as to leave any sanctions behind. But that will also include those players that fancy a walk!
If I was a lawyer and an agent, I'd be pretty excited right now. If I was Charles Green I'd be hopeful of a profit once I'd sold the assets. If I was Walter I'd be thinking about starting a new club, at a new ground, in the 3rd division and starve green out.
The only combo I can't see is The Rangers, at Ibrox, in the SPL, under Walter, sanction free! 2/4 will be a result given the latest news!

Agree0 Disagree0

Who is this "we?" The Rangers is a company/club of which you are not a shareholder, owner or employee. You are just a customer. If Tescos closed you might be disappointed but would have to get your head around it and start shopping at ASda. Neither store is "you" even if you have a loyalty card. You are just a source of revenue. Only alternative is a customer cooperative a la Barca.

Agree0 Disagree0

So newco is oldco and history remains?

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Also, there may be a title stripping undertaken, because Rangers FC gained an unfair advantage over other clubs by signing players they could not otherwise afford.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a lot a things but I dont think simple is one of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a lot simpler if you use the law of the land as a basis for speculating the outcomes as opposed to relying on keeping faith and the fall back position of WATP.

If The Rangers fans are hoping for a happy outcome they better hope this becomes a simple case of greed and intimidation over integrity and fan power!

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone wants Rangers to be punished but nobody wants them to die. Not even Celtic supporters, despite what they say. Celtic without Rangers is like Harry Potter without Voldemort.
Oh. Wait.

I am sick of the "signing players they could not otherwise afford" comments.

We had the money there for players, we were trying to avoid paying tax. Regardless of the situation, The Buffels, Boumsongs, Prso's Kontermans, De Boers, and the rest would all have still played.

4th of July is the day the SPL will decide if Rangers can join for next season.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Motherwell Statement in Full. Make your own mind up but that reads as a YES to Cheatco FC for me.

The Board at Motherwell FC today released the following statement in light of today’s ‘Newco’ application to the SPL by Rangers FC.

“Confirmation has now been received from the SPL that an all club vote on the proposal to transfer Rangers share is scheduled to take place on 4th July. Motherwell FC are in the process of arranging a forum to discuss the issue with supporters of the club. Following that meeting, the board will meet and agree the club’s position and ultimately how we will vote if the meeting takes place as planned.

“The decision will be taken by the Director’s as a group, as the majority shareholding in the club is currently held under a Power of Attorney by Board members, pending the planned staged transfer to the ‘Well Society. No decision has yet been made by the club on the SPL share transfer, as we will only now see the full details of the proposal and be provided with the full information required. Considerable uncertainty on the implications for revenues and costs complicates our decision considerably.

“The Directors would also like to clarify that the comments made by Director Andrew Lapping in a letter to a national newspaper are entirely personal and are not in any way attributable to the club. Mr Lapping has played no active role in the running of the club for many years and is not part of the decision making group.

“The ‘Newco’ issue is often portrayed as a straight choice between preserving sporting integrity and clubs accepting a reduction in gate money together with potentially a significant amount of commercial revenue. In reality it is far more complex than that. We are fully aware that an overwhelming majority of our fans and most others, who have so far expressed an opinion, are totally opposed to ‘Newco’ being allowed immediately back into the SPL.

“The club has been flooded with correspondence from supporters of many clubs which ranges from fully reasoned arguments to direct threats concerning the consequences of a vote either way. Our Board of Directors is predominately made up of lifelong Motherwell supporters and we fully understand that fans are the single most important group within the club. History shows that any business which ignores the wishes of its customer base rarely prospers in the long term.

“In any event it would appear a yes vote may not even guarantee that ‘Newco’ will play in the SPL next season as the club is still subject to SFA sanctions and there is an ongoing investigation into the use of EBTs to make payments to players.

“The consequences of five or more clubs voting no to ‘Newco’ do also need to be understood and fully taken into account. In addition to lower gate receipts, we are likely to lose an as yet un-quantified amount of commercial revenue with a specific risk around TV payments. The clubs’ income from SPL distribution of commercial revenue was approximately 36% of the total amount generated last season, although this does vary year on year. A significant proportion of SPL income is obtained from TV and other broadcasting rights. The lack of clarity on what the actual impact of ‘Newco’ not playing in the SPL will have on these revenues is a major problem for the Board.

“Despite some reports, it is our understanding that Sky/ESPN have made no official statement on how they will react to a no vote and we believe that a number of other contracts could be re-negotiated if ‘Newco’ was refused entry to the SPL. We very much hope that sponsors and partners will continue to provide their backing whatever the outcome of the various ongoing processes.

“The common response to the potential loss of revenue is that clubs need to cut their cloth accordingly. Of course this could be achieved over a period of time, by reducing both on and off the field costs, but it cannot be done overnight. It is vital that we honour player and employee contracts and meet all our other obligations.

“We are in the healthy position of having no debt but have set our cost base in the expectation that income will be at a certain minimum level. In the event of a shortfall we do not have a bank or benefactor able to fund the gap. We clearly do not wish anyone associated with Motherwell, or any other club, to suffer as a result of events in which they played no part. Having been though a painful Administration process many years ago, we are also better placed than most to have sympathy with both the employees and ordinary fans of Rangers who are in no way responsible for the uncertainty they are facing.

“The Directors of any business have a duty to act in the best interests of the company or, in this case, the club. In normal circumstances, decisions are fairly straightforward but in this situation a decision either way is likely to have a significant impact on at least one of our key income streams. It is inevitable that there will be consequences if a business suffers a sudden drop in income. Instead of the usual process of deciding what is best for the club, we are currently faced with trying to decide on which is the least worst option. The stakes here are high.

“There are a number of other knock on impacts to this lack of certainty. Firstly we have temporarily delayed giving the club any access to the ‘Well Society funds. When we launched the Society we made it clear that we would not put the funds raised at risk and that they would be used only to assist with short term funding requirements at the club, when there was a clear source of repayment. In the current circumstances we believe that we can only fully protect the money raised by keeping it entirely ring fenced from the club until the outcome of the ‘Newco’ debate is known and the financial impact understood.

“In addition we will need to adopt a cautious approach to investing in the playing squad. To date we have not changed our previously agreed plans but this could change dramatically in the current weeks. The inability to accurately forecast future income could also impact on the production of our financial accounts.

“By any measure the events at Rangers are having and will continue to have a huge impact on Scottish football. It is our hope that the tax authorities and liquidator will investigate these events fully and are able to take appropriate action against those responsible for causing lasting damage to our national game.

“Whilst we fully understand that the ‘Newco’ issue is one which many people feel strongly about, we hope that our fans now have a better idea of the extremely difficult position the club is in and that you continue to offer support by buying season tickets and, if you have not already done so, joining the Well Society which remains very much part of the club’s plans for the future.

“We can assure you that any funds raised by the Society will remain separate from the club, until the position is clearer, but we remain totally committed to the fan ownership model. Whatever the outcome of the vote on ‘Newco’ it will be more important than ever that our fans stay loyal to the club, as we look forward to our debut in the Champions League, and that our efforts to grow the fanbase continue to be successful.

“On the pitch, these are very good times at Motherwell FC and it is vital that we continue to work together as a club to enable us to emerge from the current SPL difficulties with our integrity and optimism intact.”

Agree0 Disagree0

So Motherwell are firmly in the YES camp.

Agree0 Disagree0

hold talks With newco

Believable12 Unbelievable12

You should listen to him. He told you that liquidation would happen and he knows that Green's pals (ZEUS) are short term asset strippers and chancers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dave King says Rangers need investment from funders on a non-commercial basis for the next three years.

At the moment, he believes Rangers only represent a good buy for an asset stripper.

King was the second largest shareholder in the soon-to-be-liquidated Rangers Football Club plc.

He arrived in Scotland on Monday for discussions about the way ahead for the new Rangers.

Asked if the best way forward for the club would be under the Walter Smith-led consortium, who held a preliminary meeting with the current owners through an intermediary on Sunday, he said: "I would think so because my understanding from [new chief executive] Mr [Charles] Green is that he sees this as being a financial opportunity.

"I really don't believe Rangers represents a financial opportunity for anyone other than an asset stripper.

“I think what we do have to avoid is another situation where essentially someone has come in and acquired the club and is going to use the fans' money”

"There is only one way forward for the club and that is that the club needs a level of funds which is way beyond the ability of the fans to support it with season tickets.

"There is a structured financial deficit and unless the club gets access to funders who are willing to put money in on a non-commercial basis, I think for at least three years, then I don't think the club will go forward."

King reiterated his belief that Green, like Craig Whyte before him, would not see out a season at Ibrox, but he added: "If Mr Green does come up with the money, then I'll be one of the first to support him.

"I think what we do have to avoid is another situation where essentially someone has come in and acquired the club and is going to use the fans' money."

King said he had requested a meeting with Green while he was in Glasgow but was unsure whether that would happen.

He will, though, be speaking to members of the Walter Smith consortium, but has not committed to putting money in himself.

"I'm able to do it, it's just a case of making sure what makes most sense for the club," he went on.

"If I believe the right plan is put in place, that I think best meets the needs of the club going forward, then it's certainly something I would consider and am capable of doing."

So, who is going to fund Rangers for 3 years - blank cheque over and above season ticket money? Last few years it's been the tax payer via EBT and non payment of PAYE, last year the club's creditors. This guy can't invest because of a South African injunction, so the as Brian Miller once said, too many people constipating the process.

King get back on the plane and peddle your nonsense elsewhere, you're not helping.

Agree0 Disagree0

Also thought it had been reported that he was to discuss the current club situation with the group headed by Walter and co ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh and he is being chased by the tax man for 250 million in south africa so definitely meets the criteria if its a takeover he is looking into. lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye just what we need another tax dodging c**t.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Rangers spending what it earns for the next 3 years? This is one of the previous overspending Directors from the last 20 years talking about spending more than the club earns again. Bill Miller and Charles Green have both said the club must live within its means.
200 employees at Ibrox going forward is just ridiculous.

SPL secretary Ian Blair confirms an application has been received from Newco Rangers for league membership.

Believable16 Unbelievable3

Hope all it sais is you can stick your SPL where the sun dont shine! DIV 3 LET IT BE!

Agree0 Disagree0

A love how all use automatically think use r going walk in to division 3 and win ur way up!! Use will lucky to get in the top 6 the way things r going ? jimi jambos:-$

Agree0 Disagree0

Oops looking for the Club 12 Rumours page?

Agree0 Disagree0

When will there be the first new old firm game ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see them acepting it

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree start in the 3rd, giv the team we r visiting our money that would be appreciated

Agree0 Disagree0

Let me tell you how this is going to play out bears. The Green consortium are preparing to asset strip if they do not get to stay in the SPL. The only 2 ways to make a profit from the old business is to either build it up as a fan based share business that must remain in the top flight or sell off the assets at more than what they paid for them, which is highly possible. The other clubs will now not vote the Newco in as Sky has said they will continue to sponsor clubs. Dave King has confirmed that he has severe doubts about Green and co. Green will use the other clubs and the SPL/SFA as an excuse for selling of everything. Only saying.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit sneaky calling themselves Club 12 on the application form.

Agree0 Disagree0

How and who will green sell everything to ? What's he going to sell a stadium to whom its can only be used as a football stadium for Rangers no other clubs going to buy it. There is still doubt of the players so he's not selling them and Murray Park can't be built on so he's not selling that he could only sell Ibrox and the albion car parks for development and even then I doubt he could do this right away. To me Green looked like a ghost figure when the CVA was rejected he looked like he knew he had a battle on his hands to get back into the SPL. If its division 3 a share issue is at least five years off either way he's in this for the long term or selling to Walter Smith.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jim mccoll could give CG 20 million for the newco, loose change to a billionaire rangers man ........... but i wont hold my breath waiting on that happening .......

Agree0 Disagree0

"Consideration of the application will depend on receipt by the SPL Board of all required documentation and verification."

Anyone know what Green needs to produce?

Agree0 Disagree0

Jim mccoll could give CG 20 million for the newco, loose change to a billionaire rangers man ........... but i wont hold my breath waiting on that happening .......

Off the radar of course

Agree0 Disagree0

Would imagine the owners of newco would need to provide some form of proof of working capital, like audited accounts and not empty words

rangers to be investigated for ebts by hmrc former players managers directors source the scottish s-n

Agree0 Disagree0

You just wake up from a 8 month sleep

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this not already happening

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't this what btc is?

Agree0 Disagree0

Iif true 8 epl teams must be bricking them selves.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why, they're already investigating ebts

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you will see a can of worms being opened now with ex players spilling the beans its just a matter of time all details should come out in the open in this sorry episode gutted bear

Agree0 Disagree0

I think they are going to investigate the old club then pursue induviduals over double contracts

Agree0 Disagree0

If it is found that the EBT's were managed incorrectly(innocent till proven guilty thats our law of the land) by Rangers or Murray accountants then how can you expect the players to foot the bill if they were told they are above board. I think they have been listed in the Rangers accounts for all to see?

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't forget the old club is still liable for any financial doping which is found and could still be stripped of titles - Randolph

Agree0 Disagree0

SPL found RFC guilty today of double contracts. Punisment to be decided 4th July. BTC result should follow quickly now.

So to be clear and to remove the innocent until proved guilty stance - guilty as charged!

Prima facie means evidence

I have it from a very reliable friend from in ibrox that Walter has given green 3 days to sell or his bid is dead, they have offered 8.5m for the new Co. Green wants more, he is worried that fans will not back his ideas.

Believable24 Unbelievable17

Expect to hear soon from Craig Whyte on why he believes he owns Rangers.

Hopefully he doesn't but I had been under the impression that Green had only gained control of his shares if a CVA was accepted. Can anybody shed any light on this. BB

Agree0 Disagree0

Green has 80m worth of property. Hé puts that on open market, adios.

Agree0 Disagree0

He owns the shares of oldco rangers which is to be liquidated... So no you won't hear this

Agree0 Disagree0

Craig Whyte does indeed own Rangers, haven't you heard ?

They have been liquidated.

Anorak.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest it best the newco distance themselves from any of the old guard its not doing the new club any favours time for a clean sweep

Agree0 Disagree0

If Walter had offered that amount Wednesday then no need for all this. Ever get the feeling you've been had!

Agree0 Disagree0

Give the Club to Walter NOW more people will follow him than Green and Whyte can P**s off. The Rangers Football Club 2012 WATP JD
wont take us long to get 54 titles lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Green has stadium, training ground and car park.... how can he apply for SPL with this.... does he not at least need a team who have even shown they can play at least one game ?

Where is his announcement of a full squad of players capable of even competing in the lower divisions, let alone scotlands premiership ?

where is the team ?

Agree0 Disagree0

There are no shares - the company has been (or will be shortly) - liquidated

or am i missing something?

bil72

Agree0 Disagree0

I would think whyte will crawl under a stone forever now,its a newco he has nothing to do with

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm thinking along the same lines as yourself, Craig Whyte still in the mix somewhere he's not going to just slip away that quietly.

Agree0 Disagree0

My guess is he still owns the shares to the PLC which is being liquidated . Same as the other26,000 share holders means they get nothing . The liquidators have sold the assets to Green as they are entitled to do and as such any shareholders have no power . In effect he still owns RFC Plc but it's worthless

Agree0 Disagree0

OP - that will explain Walter Mitty being thrown out by security then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive been thinking about whyte since green came in to the now defunct rangers. Whyte being a clever man what I believe him to be would he really sell his shares for peanuts and leave himself open to being sued for millions by ticketus and hmrc his fingers surely must still be in rangers somewhere. Davegem

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure anyone really knows exactly what is going on. As for Walter etc, where were they pre liquidation with this bid ? It's shoddy to say the least to let Green do all the nasty work then try and nip in when the club he professes to love is liquidated. Why ? I can't see Green letting go for 10m never mind 8.5m

Agree0 Disagree0

Good old Walter, like everyone else involved in mess, he come in once the horse has bolted.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's the thing Mr Whyte is being very quiet, something stinks here I don't think this is quite over Bears.

Agree0 Disagree0

Craig Whyte (via his company Liberty Capital) owns 85% of the shares in Rangers Football Club PLC. This company were placed in to administration. This means that court appointed officers are put in charge of the company (existing directors lose all power), and have to find a way to settle as much of the debt as possible. The company's assets can be sold to achieve this.

RFC PLC's business and assets sold by the administrators to Charles Green's consortium. The assets include the stadium, training ground, rights to the 'Rangers' brand and the football club - which is apparently separate from the company. (Players are employed by the company but play for the club)

Craig Whyte also holds a floating charge over the assets of the RFC PLC. Basically, this means that he's entitled to the 1st 18M of proceeds of any asset sale - with certain exceptions, most notably that the Administrators get paid before anyone!

So - Craig Whyte does still own RFC PLC, but that company has no rights to use the stadium, training ground or Rangers brand.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think there's a snowballs chance in hell that the vast majority of supporters will back Charles Green, I wont be renewing my season ticket as things stand.

Agree0 Disagree0

Craig Whyte ' u know that old liquidated comPany? I still own it!'
That would be really silly eh?

Agree0 Disagree0

Craig Whyte does indeed own Rangers, haven't you heard ?

They have been liquidated.

Anorak.

.......................

Not been liquidated yet smart are!

takes about 8 weeks, TBH walter does not deserve to get the club anyway regardless of what the fans think of him, Green put his money up and rescued the club from being closed completely, then walter smith comes in with a BID the following week and gets all the fans against green, not fair in my book! to late Walter, pay greens 20million or let him get on with it!

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Whyte's floating charge, there has been no mention of it being reassigned or cancelled.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dave King arrived in Glasgow today to attempt broker a deal between all parties.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be totally shocked if CW has left himself open to circa 26M liabilities to Ticketus!

We will see soon enough I suspect.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whyte being a clever man .................

Funniest comment since SDM claimed he was duped, Whyte has the business acumen of a Greek on crack.

He paid 1 and personally secured 18-27 million for a worthless business that lasted 9 months, and is being pursued by HMRC for a 14 milion tax fraud.

If you think this is evidence that he is a clever man, then I hope you are not on my jury.

Reads his email to D&P, he warns them to expect a hostile HMRC, but expects Rangers to exit administrtion via a CVA within days if not hours, which requires HMRC agreement !!!

The man is a complete nutjob.

Anorak.

Agree0 Disagree0

From memory, Ticketus can't even get at any excess from the asset sale as the floating charge is registered in offshore company in Whyte's fathers name. He won't get much, but better than a poke in the face.

Agree0 Disagree0

Green put his money up and rescued the club from being closed completely,....

I believe Green has admitted he put up very little of the money, he hasn't rescued the club, only bought a stadium, training ground and car park.

I wouldn't pay him 20 million, just don't buy tickets and he will sell cap in hand.

Agree0 Disagree0

Does anyone really know Mr Green. He has bought the assets for 5.5 m... He wants in excess of 20 m to hand over to Rangers minded people.. I have heard quotes like Green is worth 80 m don't but season tickets he come cap in hand to Sir Watty and take next to nothing for the club.....What If.... Mr Green is a very cleaver business man WHO
is willing to GAMBLE 5.5 m to make more money from rangers minded people!!!! could be type of man to if he cant get the big bucks will asset strip prob make a little on his 5.5 and leave a great big dirty hole where the newco used to be....Be warned.

The Grim Reaper

Agree0 Disagree0

#Anarak you were saying just a while back that hmrc would accept a cva, no exactly that wise yoursel then, eh.

#Anarak you were saying just a while back that hmrc would accept a cva, no exactly that wise yoursel then, eh.........

How impolite of you to menion and get my name wrong, I also bet Jim Furyk to win the U.S. Open, go figure.

Anorak is wise but like all geniuses....flawed.

Agree0 Disagree0

The man is a complete nut job.cw
he is a rich nut job pulled a lot of money out of rangers my estimate is around 2.8m and he will walk away from this because it was the company that could not pay the tax because there was not enough money in the company bank to fund the business walk away rich and scott free ,,jc

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a rich nut job pulled a lot of money out of rangers my estimate is around 2.8m ..................

He is liable for the Ticketus money and there is no record of him taking out any funds personally, if there was he would have been charged with fraud months ago.
