"i dont think there was much between the two teams",said super ally.exactly.

Believable64 Unbelievable26

And that is why were are out. Pish wee diddy 3rd division team with a clueless manager.

This WILL get worse mark my words. if we keep getting put out of cups where does the money come from?

Wont be able to keep playing these over payed muppets for too long. Should have stuck to the young guns as from what i watched tonight THEY were the ones up for the challenge.

Agree1 Disagree3

As you say, exactly. But there is a lot between the two teams if you want to put a £ value on the players. Simply ... not good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

That was total rubbish last night, apart from the fact that the referee was absolutely shocking (seen his name no wonder).
dean shiels was murder, sandaza just as bad and as for the 2 centre halfs, wouldnt get a game for an amateur team.
MCCOIST MUST GO NOW

Agree1 Disagree0

We should be beating teams like Annan,Berwick,Peterhead and Queen of the South with the squad we have.
Poor start to the season and it can only get worse.
Alexander constantly kicks the ball upfield the central defence of Perry and Cribari BIG ??
Green needs to look at the management team- LACKING TACTICAL AWARNESS AND MOTIVATING THE PLAYERS

Agree0 Disagree0

So wee sly Ally has lost it. Lets face it he never really had it. His record as manager is woeful. If he had any regard for Rangers he should walk NOW

Agree0 Disagree2

Serious motivation probems, not sure a new manager would make any difference.

Agree1 Disagree1

Ally will always be a hero of mine but I'm afraid he will never CUT it has a manager!! John F

Agree2 Disagree0

These guys are full time, paid huge sums in comparison to the opposition teams faced and look as though they couldn't care less !! now who's job is that to sort ?

Agree1 Disagree0

Ally has got to be given at least this season,we have a whole new squad it takes time for these guys to get to know each other, qos have been a full time team i dont know if they still are, there is going to be bad results on our comeback we cant win every game
theres hard times ahead but it will get better,we will be back, watp

Agree2 Disagree1

Got to agree cb positions need drastic change, there must be two young guys we can get in under 18 who would do a job on a fulltime contract against part timers

Agree1 Disagree0

Ally McCoist is a legend, as a manager he is garbage. His record last season was abysmal and his record this season is worse. Get rid!

Agree1 Disagree1

To the poster who made insinuations regarding the referees creed or his loyalties due to his name........grow up! He never missed the spotkicks, he never made the substitutions, picked the team or formation or missed the sitters ( Dean Shiels) yes he made a few dubious decisions (against both sides) but name me a referee that has never done so. It's time we stopped blaming everyone else for our situation and look at what we have got steering us downwards, and lest we forget, the men who put us there....our ex directors!

Agree0 Disagree2

Standard of our play is terrible especially with ally's tactics of knock it from Alexander up to one striker who has no chance. How hard is it to play football from the back on the deck FFS

Agree0 Disagree1

Give the team a chance to settle no preseason had remember there will be plenty off ups and downs cant throw toys out pram every time doesnt go our way support your team we need it

Agree1 Disagree1

The referee gave us a penalty that should've won us the game. We had 90 mins plus extra time to win the game, we had 30mins extra time to win the game, we had penalties to win the game. We have the second most expensive squad in Scotland. McCoist is incompetent and that won't change.

Agree1 Disagree0

Well Sally there was quite a bit between the teams last night, a few divisions for starters. A young manager who seems to get the best out of his team...NOT YOU!! Players actually working for each other..not over paid mercenaries who are there for the money. I would agree with a few other repliers, time is up for Sally...being a manager of the Old Firm guarantees you a 50/50 chance of the title, staring from scratch, in the lower leagues is evidently beyond his meagre managerial talents...time to walk Sally...maybe Question of Sport could rehire you or a pundit is the way to go..even you could learn some legends, He will be disappointed with that, He should have hit the target, It was a game of two halves and my personal favourite, and the 'booze' rings out for another Rangers defeat.

Agree0 Disagree1

It's sad because we all want Ally to succeed, but his record is poor and a lot of players he has brought in are very poor. There was a lot between the teams and QotS were worthy winners. It's hard to see a decent plan A never mind a plan B! There has to be a place for Ally at Rangers, but think we need a hardened, experienced manager to see us through the next couple of seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed not much difference in the teams - there bloody well should be!

What happened to the SIX internationalists influence

They had a manager who knew what he was doing

Agree0 Disagree1

McCoist is not manager material a legend yes this is another Greig situation it's plain to see he can't set up a team to suit the game and he can't influence a game during through tactics or subs he must go before we are embarrassed any more

Agree0 Disagree1

To the first post about the money from these cups - you get pennies in cups like these. look at the difference between champions league and europa. you get like 5mil for winning europa, you get like 50mil for winning the champions league, hell you get 17mil for getting past group stages! This is the ramsdens cup for gods sake, we've lost about £5,000. Yes we played ****e, noted, but all I and we should care about is the league. thats the only thing thatll take us back to top flight where there is some money to be made (mainly from european appearances).

We need time to gel, and we need to stop giving all these diddy teams undeserved respect when they try and slaughter our players. get stuck into them ffs! teach them how to tackle, wish goian was here to do it!
WATP Stevemac

Agree0 Disagree0

To Stevemac. yes all those wonderful leagues and cups CL etc are great money earners but were not in these comps mate.

we are a poorly managed 3rd division team with players that are overpaid for SPL wages never mind 3rd Division. The cup games should be won as should all the league games on PAPER but on the pitch Rangers are rank rotten and if something is not done soon, either manager getting his balls felt or players getting theres felt we will keep getting put out cups and WONT get promoted.

Motherwell will slaughter this overpayed/uninterested squad of players. and people will stop giving there support to the club. No-one i there right mind will pay to watch this crap week in and out. Look at the other side of Glasgow they too are astonished at how there team is playing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stevemac

What your missing mate is cup games are bonuses that you cant factor in when your doing accounts.

A semi-final to a packed Ibrox is worth a small fortune to the club if the draw ties u at home. Then a packed final wherever it may be. So thats 2 paydays gone.

And you know what, never mind that. Its a disgrace Rangers haven't even made the semi's of this tournament with the second most expensive squad in scotland. An embarrassment!

The 2 Jimmys lined up to replace Ally if results dont improve, was rumoured a while ago but been hearing it from different people, not sure if it would be a good move or not

Frustrated bear

Believable28 Unbelievable57

Mike and bernie winters ffs

Agree0 Disagree0

Something has to give results not goOD ENOUGH GERS POOR WITH TEMPELTON AND THE AUSTRALIAN ATTAcking midfeilder

Agree0 Disagree0

Even the 2 ronnies would do better than this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would rather see Billy Davies,Derek McInnes,or Kenny Shiels at Ibrox

Agree1 Disagree0

LOL @ 2 Ronnies.

Seiously, though, there is something fundamentally wrong when this team, on these wages, can't go out and beat QoS or Annan. Manager? Coach? Over-rated players? Frankly I don't know

Agree0 Disagree0

Stuart McColl! He works miracles with no assets. FFS Ally go! The worst manager in Scotland by a mile.

Agree1 Disagree0

I dont care if one of the Jimmys is Krankie.......just get rid of McCoist !!

Agree2 Disagree1

Time for Ally to move upstairs, this squad may win div3 but div2...maybe not.

Agree0 Disagree0

The two jimmys, I`ve heard of Jimmy Krankie, but who is the other one?

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop posting about 2 jimmys xos its never gonna happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally must go

Agree0 Disagree0

Butcher will be next in line.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know results have been suspect of late but is it a case of the manager can only do so much? Did he get the players or numbers he wanted? The players on show last night have to carry as much blame as ally if not more. I am undecided as to what should happen next. Will another manager want the job? Threadbare squad no chance of signing quality for 12 months. And on top of that the huge demand of our suffering support? Hardly the best time to take a once in a lifetime opportunity. Give ally another 4 games not including Motherwell as I don't fancy us in that one.

Agree1 Disagree1

Billy davies would be a great addition at rangers, dont want ally to go just yet tho,il judge him at end of season

Agree1 Disagree0

All can only do so much, he has the best squad in the lower divisions by a mile. No offence but he is totally clueless, it looked that way last season but we gave him the benefit of the doubt with all the other things happening but it is painfully obvious that he hasn't a clue. Would rather see him go before any of his reputation at Ibrox is damaged. I remember John Greig as manager, would hate to see another legend get to that point.

Agree1 Disagree1

You seriously believe Butcher, Davies or McCall would put their reputations on the line to manage a bunch of second rate losers and under achievers in the 3rd Division? Get real, McCoists possibly the best we'll get for a long while and Green's not going to throw money at the team, is he? He's out to make a quick buck.

Agree0 Disagree1

OP here I wouldn't have believed Calderwood and Nichol as a duo to manage us but now we're in Div 3 , they have the experience at lower levels, can't see McCall or Butcher or McInnes coming anywhere near us til or if we get back up the divs , my fear is , if Ally's not the man to get us back up the divs we wait to long to replace him and mis a promotion, how would that leave the finances?

Frustrated bear

Agree0 Disagree1

Yes the result last night wasn't good enough, but let's get a bit of prospective here. We have a team who apart from 3 or 4 of them haven't played together before. Every team sees us as a big scalp so raises their game. This was never gonna be easy, and this will happen a few times over the season. We will still win the league. I don't have a problem with ally, think he is the man for the job. If anything, McDowell to me is the problem. He seems to have a bit too much input/influence. He was on cam whispering to ally and the next thing McKay, our most technically gifted player and the one making a difference last night, was hooked for naismith, who in my eyes isn't good enough. Cue us drifting out the game again. Something needs to give, but I don't think it should be ally

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry to say but Ally is not up to the task.
He will always b a legend but there needs
To be coaching staff clear out. Jim Jeffries
Or Billy Davies. Motivate the players and get the results we need for this season and
Next

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets not get to overboard here. it was only hte ramsdens cup , which in all honesty we dont reallywant to be putting our name to, lets get the first phase of games over with then the players will totally adapt to 3rd division life, i reckon an undefeated run from december will happen.....kaikai RTRNRF

Heard a rumour at the game that McCoist will be sacked and the replacement manager will be Big Lee McCulloch. They see him as a manager in the making and will be given the chance to learn his trade in the lower divisions.

Durrant will be asked to stay, but it is believed he won't, and McDowall is also gone. Green believes that the players are
better than they are showing, and feels the current
team cant motivate them.

Don't know how much truth is in this but I am told will happen over weekend.

Believable37 Unbelievable79

Stuart McCall the most likely for me to take the reins if Rangers can afford him. His stock may go up next week if Well take four or five off the Teds

Agree0 Disagree2

Why wait till the weekend get rid of the 3 stooges tonight

Agree4 Disagree2

It is bad enough having to play these teams but playing them with this type of footsie is an absolute joke. We lacked leadership, guts, fight not to mention any type of good football. We have to be playing better stuff but the more I see the more I know that Ali must go. The players ain't fighting for him and he cannot go on protecting these less than mediocre players. Knocked out by QOS. I am dreading facing Motherwell.

Agree1 Disagree2

Can't see this happening, although a player manager like LMc might just be what's needed in SFL3. Agree that the players are capable of more.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have said this before Ally's loyalty in Rangers time of need is not questioned?
It is his ability as a manager that I doubt he is in the main up against part time teams! That is players who get together probably once a week and hold down a full time job. Therefore his results with a well paid full time squad are woeful. Ally please step aside? {Ed039's Note - Great post)

Agree0 Disagree1

Green cannot allow this to continue much longer, the fans will simply drift away.

Agree0 Disagree0

He won't sack Ally, he will have to walk. As for McCulloch, do me a favour, not the time for an inexperienced manager that's what's in place now !

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree with the comment about McCoists ability as a manager. Fully expected to read this morning he had been sacked. Surprised he wasnt. Playing legends very rarely make great managers

Agree0 Disagree1

At last its not just me who calls our management team the three stoogies.the only guy i feel sorry for is coisty.yes i totally agree he is not a manager but i believe him to be a good coach.i think the job is too big and has came at the wrong time.as for the other two muppets they contribute nothing except stand for 5 minutes explaining to our subs on how to score a goal on an a4 sheet of paper.would i get rid of them?mccoist no but the other two yes.who could we get?don't know because who would come.as for lee mcculloch as player manager that is a no no right away.the players seem to lack direction or they are simply n.ot carrying out coisty's instructions. big jim

Agree0 Disagree0

COIST done a good job steering us through the troubled times, but we need Billy Davies he will get them up for it and playing football, not pumping the ball to Sandaza who didn't win a ball in the air all night

Agree0 Disagree0

When he was asst manager he was more animated and trying to motivate the players now the three of them stand about with their arms folded, sorry but time for them to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

I said last season Ally was not a No 1. He is better on the coaching field as a go between players and management. Last season his lack of tactical awareness was shown up early on in europe this was followed by the team imploding and surrendering a 15 point lead and this was before all the off field stuff started.

Righn now he has shown he has no plan b in games we struggle in and i feel that he doesn't command respect as someone like Sir Walter did therefore he isn't getting the response when the chips are down .

Much as Rangers are in debted to him for his loyalty through our darkest hours this will be forgooten quickly as Rangers fans need to see a team with passion and desire to rise from the ashes

Agree0 Disagree0

1. McCoist managed a team whilst having both his hands tied behind his back initially by the Craig Whyte regime, then further more when the club was placed into Administration. He kept his dignity and helped to lead the club through those dark days.
2. He is currently the Manager of a Club and Team who is and will for the next few years be one who is undertaking a major restructuring process.
3. Whilst he has brought in some good SPL standard players (Black, Shiels, Sandaza, Templeton) the team is still very much in transition and unrecognisable from the team of the last few years, and it will take time. Success does not happen over-night.

Temps injury cant be as bad as first thought just seen him driving himself out of Murray park

Believable18 Unbelievable39

He is out for 5 weeks just coz u can drive doesnt meant its no a bad injury

Agree2 Disagree0

Half the people in recent Paralympics drove themselves home, dumb point, he could have a year long injury easily though hope just weeks..... george

Agree0 Disagree0

So, by your logic, sitting driving a car is the same as playing a professional game of football.

Agree1 Disagree0

Just making a point sorry im not as academic as you clearly are Einstein

Agree0 Disagree1

He may drive an automatic!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Now if he had been riding a bike I would see your point, but seriously I've been off work with a back injury for 3 weeks and I can drive!

Agree0 Disagree0

Take it was his own car not sponsors

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe it wasn't his car.

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps we should be more worried about the continuing tradition of signing players who immediately pick up injuries? Fair play to the boy at least it happened during a match which at least shows commitment!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Sep 2012 08:22:06
RANGERS medics last night blamed Annan's plastic pitch for David Templeton's injury all i can say is mccoist should have made the desision not to play temp in that game on the plastic pitch thats what managers get paid to do is make desisions and he constaly keeps making bad ones

Believable48 Unbelievable51

I thought it was the fault of some hammer thrower?

Agree2 Disagree0

I agree mate. He had a worse record than Paul LeGuen last season at the same point LeGuen got sacked, and that was before the meltdown with Whyte.
He opens his mouth and says silly things.
He brings the game in Scotland into disrepute.
He endangers people's safety.
He isn't a good football coach at all.
He's a desperate guy.
He needs to step down. Fourth tier football is beyond him and we won't get out of this league under Ally's non leadership and non football.

Agree4 Disagree3

Well chaps looking forward to the big game tonight is it the chip shop cup or the league cup

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep saying Ally was the right man at a horrible time for the club but sorry to say he isn't the man to move the Gers forward on the pitch!! John F

Agree0 Disagree1

Seriously? You blame ally for that? Unreal. So what if jig or Alexander or black done an ankle on that pitch would that be allys fault? On your reckoning who should have played? It's a freak accident like naismith last season or mols in Munich. Ridiculous post in my opinion.

Agree2 Disagree1

I'm not allys biggest fan in a long way, but how can he win? If he doesn't play Templeton and we don't win ally gets slaughtered for not playing him, we are talking about an average winger not messi, get a grip injuries happen on any pitch at any time.

Agree2 Disagree0

Away you go. The pitch is ideal for players who are skillful.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'll send you a box of straws to clutch at.
Al(ly must stay)

Agree1 Disagree0

Ally is and always will be a Rangers legend, but how long can we allow him to make terrible choices? Sure he says all the right things to us to keep us from seeing his short comings as manager. Come on fellow bears. we are in a veey bad way and we are making no headway in the lowest tiers of scottish football! Am i missing something here? Why are we allowing this? We are the most succesful club side the world has ever seen and yet we still as fans still get beny over by the Spl, Sfa and those gangsters at fifa. So come on fellow bears raise your voice and and NO more. back to thr original point fr post....Ally should now step aside as he can fo no more! Hr has showm has unwavering loyalty to the cause but i ask out of real concern fir our our future.........is this enough?

Agree1 Disagree0

How can you possibly blame mccoist, your not a gers fan your one of a growing number of septic fans obsessed with rangers

Agree1 Disagree0

Might be happy with the plastic pitches come January in the 3rd Division.

Good luck to the boy Templeton in his recovery though.

Agree1 Disagree0

Theres a few plastic pitches in that league so they better get used to it.

You all need to give ally a break, the team needs time to gel and get used to playing at this level. i do agree we should be outplaying them convincenly but time is needed

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeh I agree give Ally a break After all are they queuing up to take his place I doubt it very much

Agree1 Disagree0

Whats point of buying him if u dont want him yo play on certain pitches

Agree1 Disagree0

And this will be why Murray Park has an indoor synthetic surface ??, the players can play on any surface - if they are good enough, unfair to blame the park and McCoist.

Agree1 Disagree0

Are you having a laugh op ? we bought him to play if he gets injured then sh*t happens we move on its a chance for someone else to step up ..kev

Agree1 Disagree0

Does that not then devalue the other players im not playing you incase you get injured but u can step in and play ? thats disrespectful to the players the fans other club and most importantly OUR CLUB
BALLYBOY

Agree0 Disagree0

Better players tham him has played on a plastic pitch

Agree1 Disagree0

There are 4 teams in the league play on plastic pitches,so are you going to leave the skillful players out of 8 games a season.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ally can't say anything right just now. (Just read his "not much between the two teams" comment). Clearly that plastic pitch statement is a poor excuse.

Agree0 Disagree0

How much gelling do highly paid players need to beat part-time players ?

Agree0 Disagree1

Why not play temp, is he allergic to plastic pitches ? None sense retort, mccoist can't take blame for that.

Agree1 Disagree0

Plastic pitches reason is nonsense - i think the majority of us who play amateur, or even 5 or 7 a sides nowadys play on plastic pitches ! i play 5s on a Tue, 7s on a Fri and 11s on a Sun but have never been injured playing on the surface, can't remember any of my mates suffering from this either. Besides - russsians use this every week, as do Annan FFS and their players don't get injured! again, more excuses from Rangers - sooner we get on and settle into this league the better.
