Early days but I'm a wee bit worried about Russell martin his days as a right back probably behind him although comfortable playing center back I don't feel he is commanding enough and maybe not the quickest. With murtys comments about Bruno being an important player between now and end of season, I really don't fancy these 2 together with their lack of pace.

Was the partnership of ALves and cardoso really that bad? I don't think it was and I'd rather have them two together then Martin and bates. But who ever plays Alves should deff get put back in in my opinion.

Martin and Bates by far best option currently and for remainder of season. Martin did no have his best game at Hamilton but think the pitch contributed to that. Longer term Bates and McClorie the best partnership available.

I disagree think Alves over Martin all day long and think cardoso will turn into a better defender than bates if he could get a run.

Spoke to ex pro Gers man who stated Mark Alens wages are paid by a group of five millionaires.
He also stated that he has five players lined up for every position and its down to the manager who he picks .
Man city's loss is our gain, City just wanted to splash the cash and that is not Mark Allens game, we have def won a watch with him .

Plastic pitches were the bain of our lives climbing up the leagues - some of our worst result (Alloa! ) were on these crap pitches.
Martin to me - looked like Bambi on the stuff - his clearance for the second goal took forever and eventually he fluffed it.
Templeton apparentyly done his knees in on plastic and now plays on it every second week - how does that work?

Rumours Bates has knocked back a new contract offer, Bruno and cordoso look to be on the way out under Murty and is letting Wilson go. Who will we be getting in for next season? Like the look of McKenna from Aberdeen but wouldn’t say better than Wilson

Steven caulker would be one to keep an eye see how he does between now and the rest of the season. Can't say I fancy any other centre backs playing in are league just now.

Caulker is definitely a player we should be looking at, he’s still young enough and has played at a very good standard

Caulker has personal issues I don't think should be shared in respect of his privacy, which will stop him signing for a top club anytime in the near future. He was fortunate to get a deal at Dundee, put it that way.

Well it’s definately the weakest part of our team and has been the biggest problem since we came back into the premier league. We have Ross McCrorie now and that’s it. Alves Cardoso and Bates just aren’t good enough.

We should get in Toni leistner as a class centre back only 27 and the best cb in bundesliga 2 he is out of contract in the summer but we would need to be quick.

I’d like to see Bates and Alves as the 2CBs. Bates has constantly praised Bruno for the advice he has given him and what Bates lacks in decision or position wise he makes up for with his pace and determination to instantly rectify his mistakes when he gives ball away or gets caught wrong side.
Bruno is far smarter, better in the air and tidier with his long diagonals in particular but of course lacks pace. He attacks it and wins the headers and Bates can sit and cover, they can both play it out from the back much better than Cardoso or Martin.

Most important game of the season coming up. A must win to heap pressure on Celtic. 6 points gap prior to their game will have some knees knocking. A win in the OF game and it would be game on. I hear the Snake Mountain supporters are actually s***ting themselves ahead of the weekend. The Famous are coming!

A win against Hearts and with them playing on Sunday must be a boost for Aberdeen’s confidence to get their first win over them.

Don't you know by now even if we lose to Aberdeen your team goes out the next week and loses to a bottom 6 team.
Its what you do and you done it all season.
I think we could lose 4 games and still win league easily, simply because none of the chasing pack can sustain a winning run.
