I’m sorry but I don’t understand this page and many other pages obsession with Louis Moult. He can’t even hack it at Preston! Not good enough, to be honest one of the worst bits of business we have done the last couple years is let Waghorn and Garner go for the fee’s they did. We put PLENTY of balls in the box now compared to under Warburton imagine what a guy like Garner could do with those! I mention Waghorn as for me he was always consistent, we sell for near a mil and now he’s moving for 5? Just shows you how badly we still get things wrong regarding players.

Aye mate Garner is still at Ipswich, don’t think he gets much of a game just now either due to Waghorn doing so well but if he’s moving on might play a bigger part for them this season. I couldn’t understand why Pedro let them both go tbh both good in the air, physical and could finish.

Ive read it all on here now some fans wanting joey Garner back! 😂😂😂😂😂 without question one of the worse strikers I’ve ever seen at ibrox. Stiffer than a good hardone, no pace, terrible movement, terrible finishing and done nothing in a game apart from give needless free kicks away.

LM1991 I hate to have to start getting down on my own team but your comments make me. right now, as we speak, Preston are BETTER THAN US. that's how bad it's got. They were contending for playoff spots for most of the season in the championship last year. I dnt know what your watching but get your head out of the sky! We could do worse than sign a striker who turned us over last year more time times than I care to remember. He might not be neymar or lewandowski but he'll improve our squad no end and ofcourse we want SG to come in and win league by 40 points in his first season but realistically he'll need to rebuild and attempt to get by Aberdeen before he looks at the filth. Third the last two seasons ain't good enough imo and he knows a hell of a lot more than us.

Never saw what other people obviously did with Garner. Waggy was a different proposition. I thought he was definitely worth keeping and with the right service he would have done well. And he loves the club. C'est la vie!

1. I never said get him back (Garner), I said we let him go a bit prematurely considering our current style of play involves pumping balls into the box and there’s nobody there to win them.
2. You’re basing getting Moult in on the fact he turned us over last year? So did Hamilton, Dundee and Kilmarnock. not to mention hibs twice. should we be signing all their players? My head is exactly where it needs to be signing players from the same division from teams who finished below you won’t get us where we want to be!

Ok semantics aside. ofcourse we haven't played each other but a team who can hold their own in the championship, finish easy top half and almost make the playoffs in my lowly opinion is better than us right now. We, as a team right now would struggle with the level that is the championship. Don't like saying it; wish it wasn't true but right now and I'm basing my opinion on last season they'd probably beat us more than we'd beat them. Now to address the moult point I'm not his biggest fan by any means but the phrase he's not rangers class" kills me when we talk about players! What's rangers class. . centre halfs from Blackpool? He's a decent enough target man, he runs the channels and seemed to work hard, and can score a variety of goals. Out with Sadiq who hasn't even PLAYED A GAME for us yet or Morelos' twin brother who's turned up for pre season training, who's going to get us goals?

Garner was brutal for us and waghorn was good enough for the championship, but once we were in the premier league he was brutal. Too slow, he would be better suited to being a body builder. Some players just can't cope with the expectation. I would rather have louis moult than either of they 2 back. Moult was brilliant for motherwell in the premier league.

LM totally agree with u on the worst bit of business it was just down to very poor management Garner for me was the most lethal in the league at the time just didn't have the service or players around him to show just how good a goalscorer he was would luv to see him back but highly unlikey, as for waggy - wrong time for us when we had him and ipswich got a steel.

Em no. That’s just not how it works really mate. You don’t not challenge your players in case it ‘makes them worse’.
You challenge them to see if they can step up to the plate. If they cannot, then it’s goodbye.
That’s what a manager should be doing if certain players aren’t performing.

I'm having significant doubts about him - so far he's been a lot of bluster and honestly, not much delivery. Sure, we beat Shkupi (thanks to a deflected goal and a penalty that wasn't) and defence looks a bit better (up against that lot and yet they still looked dangerous), but the overall picture is not one to inspire confidence. Anyone feeling confident is basing it on very little and even at this early stage Gerrard has done a lot more wrong than he has right. Rangers shouldn't be an academy for managers to test themselves on - we've been through this with Warburton and Murty, it feels like it's the same all over again.

2 games in and people saying he has made mistakes think people need a realty check SG has laid the foundations for a solid defence which was 100% the right place to start and he has had bad luck with injuries already.
Yes I will confess like most other fans I’m disappointed to see Greg Docherty go out on loan I was hoping he would turn him into a mainstay of the midfield but I have faith that he believes a loan move will do Doc good.

i don't half read some nonsense on here 3 games 3 clean sheets the opposition doesn't matter were positive about the defence which is the only part of the team gerrards had an effect on all the players that have been getting slated on here are the usual suspects from last season and if you think gerrard was serious about not looking to bring in another attacker then your clueless about football its clearly a mindgame statement to the likes of windass and morelos to say if yous don't buck your ideas up you will be replaced there is not a chance that this current starting 11 will be gerrards preferred 11 at the end of the transfer window

rfcrb1872,Get a grip of yourself and face the reality that the manager has had to strip the team right back to the basics, he has already strengthened the defence i. e. no goals conceded yet, he has already been honest and says that there is loads more work to be done, for example get some players out and off the wage bill and get other players in who will enhance the team and that is what he is trying to do, what more do you want? give him a chance mate it might take months before the team are performing to how the manager and fans want them but what's the alternative? its a massive rebuilding job and most of the fans accept that, let's go forward and support this manager who is trying to take our team to the next level,

Gerrard isn’t a magician! He inherited a total mess and has had to strip everything back and build back up. This is a work in progress. He needs time and support. I’m confident he’ll get it right given time.

Wee_Bear I said at the start of the window we would get Solanke toward the end of the window. While I have no info to prove this I think this is the reason S. G. has not been active in the striker department. I know we have Umar and he may prove to be the answer but I don't think S. G. would risk our attack on just 2 young unproven players.

Jordan jones is a good winger weeblueguy, so i disagree with you there mate. I was brought up watching fantastic wingers all through my years, of going to see rangers! A good winger is worth their weight in gold and are fantastic crowd pleasers,
fantastic to watch, of course with an end product! What i will say is that the young liverpool winger, ryan kent, that we're about to sign, on a season long loan deal, from liverpool, looks even better than jordan jones! The only thing in that is at least jones would be our player, whereas kent would only be on loan to us! Kent has signed a new deal with liverpool, so there's no chance we'd get him permanently! Kent does look superb though!

I think you have a point regarding daniel candeias, Davy f rangers! I agree that gerrard Wouldn't start candeias, if he could sign one or two more wingers! Here's a thought mate.
Hypothetically speaking, if we did sign both wingers, ryan kent and jordan jones, we could play them on both wings, with daniel candeias and our young star, glenn middleton, as back up! This would then allow gerrard, to move murphy in one, to play off our chosen no.9!We could then sell josh windass! Take the money for windass and into the bargain, our team will be even more potent and attacking, with a much better balance! Thoughts on this Davy f rangers and any other bear who cares to?

Jordan jones is very direct imo would make a good signing. makes defender panic and make a desision, when defenders are under pressure more likely to make a mistake so I’m all for this one. With flano playing behind him he doesn’t have to worry about being caught out up field as he’s defensively minded.

For me you need 2 players at least for each position but wingers having extra who can cover a number of positions is ideal due to wingers more prone to fall in form/ confidence.

I personally think Jones would end up like MOH. Playing with killie where teams don’t sit in is very diff from playing with Rangers where they do in SPL. Demands every game also very diff.
I’d play Middleton left side, Murphy in for Windass and new lad Kent on the right, looks likely he will start over Candy.

Think I will be distinctly underwhelmed by this if it turns out to be true. OK to add as a a squad player but we already have our own "prospect" on the wing in Middleton. Also if he comes on the basis that he's got to play so many games regardless of form or we will be financially penalised like Bristol City, reputedly, that worries me. Maybe the lad will rip it up in the SPFL but it doesn't sound like a great deal to me. Stevie G is our manager and should be looking after our interests first and foremost.

I can ask them Supercooper but I had a chat with them not so long ago ago about which loanees were the best and who they thought we would be offered. Best were Wilson, Solanke, Origi by miles followed by Woodburn& Ings. Then came Ejaria followed by Kent &Masterson (young centre back) . They thought only the latter three would be offered to us. As for Kent himself they said he's like many a young winger e. g Barry McKay. Devastating sometimes but totally anonymous often. Only saw him play once for Liverpool in the Cup. Did little of note. Apparently had a good season at Barnsley 2016-17 but recalled early from Bristol City as they weren't playing him. As I said on the rumours site I don't think he should not be loaned as guaranteed starter because he just isn't good enough. Wilson would have entirely different though!

I was reading an article, Liverpool Ger, regarding liverpool's young wingers, on a liverpool page. It did state that there's nothing between ryan kent and harry wilson, ability wise! It says they are very similar wingers, who on their day, can be devestating!
