Ignore me if I'm being daft here.
According to the "in the know" journalists on social media/ papers etc, the Aribo deal is done and the deal has been agreed etc.
However, he is off back to Charlton where he is expected to tell Lee Bowyer that he is moving on apparently? Sounds a bit odd unless it's common courtesy to do so. Gives me a bad feeling.
Maybe I'm just paranoid though.

Im sure hes contracted till 30th June but I could be wrong. Its just common courtesy to inform current club and do so face to face. By all accounts, of info is correct, hes made his mind up and will be heading off for training camp with ourselves.

Aribo contract doesnt expire until 30th June. So technically if Charlton have reported back for training he is obliged to be there. Terms are agreed in principle and offer of 4 year deal on table. He wants to work with Gerrard and thinks the club is a wonderful fit, other English clubs are/ were sniffing around. Hoping its the case he is still contracted, with Aribo and Ojo adding a bit of flair could be what we have been lacking. If any marquee loan signings come in it will be August once premier league clubs have picked squads. The aim was to get in the core of the squad before 1st euro game and then possibly add a couple of loans later depending on Euro progress. Holt, doodoo, Dorrans maybe, Rossiter will all go. McCrorie will be sent on loan. Grezda loan that leaves Gerrard with his 2 in every position with CB looking at one more after Edmundson. Possibly a striker that replace Lafferty. No intention to sell Morelos or Tav this window.

Couldn't agree more. Aribo signing almost sounds too good to be true. Sounds completely similar to the centre back Mexer that had agreed terms and wanted a picture with Stevie G. Look how well that turned out.

The fact that the alleged salary on offer was in the press makes me think his agent is trying for a better offer from his current club.

Charlton won't pay him 20k a week nor can they offer him trophies nor european football. he's contracted until the end of june so he's a charlton player for atleast 10 more days. Bowyers chokin fir more money for him so wants him to sign for anothee year but he owes them ****all its a massive opportunity and there's no chance he will knock it bk.

Still to hit the media, but i have it on good authority that our former midfielder lewis mcleod, has signed for wigan athletic. Best of british to the young man, who's a good midfielder, but has had a horrendous spell with injuries. Hope he's now back to health. I believe he's currently on his hols.

Lewis Mcleod is a cracking wee player. I truely wish things had been different for the young lad. He had the potential to be a great player. Shame about his injury worries.

Nope but I genuinely dont care about big part players who jumped whenever they could. Novo? Care. Albertz? Care. Ferguson? Care. Macleod, Black, Naismith, Whittaker, and so on? Couldnt give one. Never good enough and jumped as soon as they could. Thats my opinion. Agree or disagree, similarly none given.

Lewis mcleod NEVER wanted to leave rangers. It was our old board who sold him to brentford, for just under the 1million mark.

He didn't "jump" he was cashed in on at the soonest opportunity by the leeches who were "running" the club (for their own gain) .
Not very fair to tar him with the same brush, he left us as a talented youngster with potential, was sad to see his career stall with injury.
Especially as he was practically forced out the door!

Perhaps and if so Ill stand corrected. He was still a bit part player, could have stayed if hed wanted but ultimately, not the level we need and I dont think he was good enough save for a couple of decent performances. Sure, good luck to the boy but not worth too many column inches.

Lewis Mcleod was sold by the then greedy board. It was however a blessing in disguise because of all the injury problems the lad had but, to mention him in the same breath as the other you mentioned is just plain disrespectful to the young man.

Barisic will show his class and have an outstanding season, becoming an 10 million player.
I personally had never seen Grezda before he signed and he has never looked the part. Will recoup 1m from selling him as he does have a decent pedigree as an international player in Europe.

I think we will be able to recoup around 1m for Grezd and insert sell on incase he smashes it at his next club.
Hes highly rated by International manager and obv an International player.
Showed glimpses of quality at times but between injuries and form of our wingers it was always going to be difficult for him.

Barisic has been doing well for Croatia tbf who finished as runners up in last seasons World Cup.
He looks to be 1st choice now at LB and although 10m is admittedly a bit far fetched at the moment, I dont think him being worth 4-5m in a season if he can transfer that form to club level and stay clear of injuries.
Hes technically good just lacks the strength and speed for Scottish Football but I genuinely think he will improve with a good run of games.
Worst case scenario we could get 2-3m back just now.

As1974, could it be down to the fact that he is the first choice left back for the 6th best team in the world?
He hasnt shown too much so far for us but there is no doubt that there is a great player in there - could be that the bully boy hard man style of football in our amazing league is not for him and that he will thrive in a more silky technical league but only time will tell.

Barisic will be a player next year Had a lot of injuries last season technically really good he just lacked sharpness which we will see soon. Grezda seems to be mentally weak hes not for Ibrox!

Good one Blue89.Lustig was staying at celtic, 'till he heard ryan kent was coming back to rangers. Kent absolutely terrorised him. Wonder if there was any truth in the ibrox old firm game in december last year, that lustig said to brenda rodgers at half time while pleading to come off, brenda he said, "i honestly don't know if i'm Mikael Lustig or Michael Caine"! . Kenty gave him an absolute roasting in 3 of the old firm games.

Phil jagielka spotted in Glasgow, on great western road. He is standing with Gordon smith, its online. Just wondering what everybody thinks? Hope he comes to us and the the manky mob. I thi k he would be a good addition, especially on a free. That would give us 4 good centre backs.

The visiting his pal thing is nonsense. Who goes to visit a mate in another city when you (havent checked) have a wife and kids at home and a very very limited period of time to take a holiday and then arrange a job for yourself?
My two best mates live in London but if I get any time off work I take my family somewhere. I see the guys if work takes me south, otherwise I dont. Theres no way Jagielka is vacationing in Glasgow.
Hell be here for discussions with one or both clubs and IMO would be a brilliant signing.

Seriously hope he is not going to Rangers. Why would we be wanting to sign players of that age. My mate is a season ticket holder at Everton and he said at least a year ago that his legs are gone. I get the experience aspect, but surely there is nobody better to learn from than Steven Gerrard with his experience. Signing young players like Edmundson that have a sell on value is the way to go.
