Think you'll find Boro are not playing Downing as, if he starts another game they will have to bump his pay up an offer a new contract at a higher rate.
Fantastic player but probably 4 years to late. or maybe not you decide.

I think itās always more difficult for attacking players when they are 33 and over with the pace of the game now.
A GK or CH thatās older isnāt as big an issue but wide players and strikers at that age are better suited as impact players from the bench.
With Jones signed up for next season already, Middleton for back up and Grezda able to play there aswell as RW and of course hopefully Kent returning we have more than enough options.
CAM and creative CM are the 2 positions we need strengthening most IMO.

Twitter rumours touting Louis Holtby to Rangers. 28, 3 Germany caps, out of contract this summer. Would be a great addition but realistically I think he could still extend his stay at Hamburg if they go up, or potentially a return to the epl. However I'm more encouraged by these rumours than Graham effing Shinnie.

i would much rather us sign a young up and coming attack mid with a lot of pace as this is what we need to add to our midfield players with pace who can commit and run at players as we seriously lack that drive.

Holtby has told Hamburg he's leaving and doesn't want to extend his stay. Good possibility of coming to us with the club connection and Bates being there too plus could earn himself a decent move in a year or 2.

Sadly guys the shinnie deal is done he just doesn't want the sheep to turn on him. (Fact) I think we need a change of formation as 451 not working and has become dire to watch. I actually think if coullably had kept fit he might've been a good engine room for us. I hope we clear the decks in the summer and perhaps promote some youth. It takes a big guy to fill those jerseys and surely our kids know that after coming through the ranks.

Shinnie signing for us is a huge concern if true. can't understand why we are going for that low calibre of player. He's not any better than we've got. i'm very disappointed with Allan and Gerrard if there's any truth in this.

Make the team that is closed to your team weaker? Most player Celtic and rangers are linked to from Scotland gets shot down . there never good enough? why is it that? . Some players just need a chance.

Shinnie is better than Coulibaly, Holt, Halliday, Rossiter and possibly McCrorie in CM.
Heās an upgrade on those players, knows the league inside out and would hit the ground running.
Jack, Davis, McCrorie and Shinnie for 2 CM roles for me.
Arfield plus new CAM battling out 10 role.
