Rumour going round that Davie Weir is not happy with the level of criticism he is receiving not only from the Media and Rangers Fans but also his own team mates . He intends quiting ater the Sporting game - may not even play in that .

Don't know how many times Ed and other posters have clarified the position. No comment can be made by Rangers or the Whyte camp until the deal is either completed, or the deal is dead. As such, no conclusions can be drawn.
Martin Bain's comments yesterday were to the effect that Rangers had to move forward as a business by making decisions for the future now, based on the position the club is in now, and not on what may or may not happen with the proposed takeover.
So there is nothing to read into this appointment

To the person who posted Davie Weir to get a one-year deal when McCoist takes the reigns.Davie Weir has been a great servant for Rangers so i would expect he might be offered a coaching post.

The guy on about signing Martin Jiranek and Matt Derbyshire. I think you are correct, it's doing the rounds in Birmingham that Jiranek has or will sign a pre-contract and that Rangers were quoted 1.5m for Derbyshire.
