Does anyone know if the SPL are holding Dunfermline to ransom about their Tv/media rights seeing as they have now dropped out of the SPL and have became an SFL club?

Seems to be a bit of double standards there & where's the sporting integrity gone?

The Pilot!

Believable54 Unbelievable31

What ransom, SPL have offered Rangers sweetener to accept SPL investigation. Access to a revised Sky deal is a benefit, not blackmail FFS.

Agree7 Disagree11

I don't quite understand what you're on about. Dunfermline didn't go BUST....Dunfermline didn't have the rules changed to get them back into Scottish football....Dunfermline didn't say they would accept any sanction to get back into football and then turn around and fight and argue about every one....

Dunfermline were relegated, Rangers weren't. You were liquidated, bust, finished, kaput....

Dunfermline DID do nothing wrong....there is no similarity with The Rangers.

If you want to feel sorry for anybody, feel sorry for the creditors you left behind.

Shug

Agree7 Disagree7

A benefit my ar*e.

Our previous owners / players tried to avoid paying tax like many high earners during that process they did not lobotomise the Rangers fans ya numpty.

The bears are needed by the backstabbing SPL, which includes your club, because we have the most support and bring more to the table than any other team. Sky have seen the number of cancellations and they know that pubs will start to cancel when their pubs have fewer punters. Honestly, who wants to watch Celtic vs Motherwell when they could watch the mighty Rangers playing Peterhead.

Agree5 Disagree3

To the post above if you believe that its the spl offering rangers a sweetner then you really are dumb! why is the spl saying they wont be able to pay the two million to the sfl unless they get the tv deal with rangers. also why are they trying to withhold rangers membership? sky is pulling the plug on the spl you know it i know it check there schedule no spl...mark.

Agree1 Disagree3

What would you do if you had the vote stand your ground or give in to them and let them take it all?

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope his injuries are behind him and RFC sign him because he is a bear and will play for the jersey. He should score easily in the lower leagues too.

Agree2 Disagree1

My point is that we went bust and accepted the consequences. We have been demoted to division 3 along with other punishments and just when it seems that we have the end game the SPL pops up with a new threat to withhold SFL money if they don't get our tv/media rights. They have no right, they refused us entry and kicked us out so how can they demand tv money or refuse to honour the SFL deal?

It's like kicking your son out of the house but still demanding dig money from him.

The Pilot!

Agree4 Disagree1

This is absolute bo***cks. Sky are a multi billion Ł company and are not stupid enough to pull the plug on SPL football because Rangers are not there. How many supporters of the rest of the clubs in the SPL subscribe to Sky. The entire SPL subscribers will outnumber Rangers subscribers 10 to 1. Therefore Sky know that if all other subscribers cancel subscriptions they stand to lose billions per year. SPL football will be televised, there may possibly be a reduction in income to SPL, but just because Rangers are not there, does not mean no SPL on TV. Think what you are saying, Sky will pay SPL or they will lose 1000's of subscribers nationally not just from Rangers fans
Billy

Agree1 Disagree3

Rangers were not demoted....they went BUST!! Is what Ally's got contageous or something!!??

On the 13th July club's weren't voting to demote you. They were voting to allow your new, debt-free company into the league. This they did, ahead of teams like Spartans who have been waiting to get in.

On Friday I spoke to an old Rangers fan who said that he's got share's in the OldCo. I offered my condolensces for his loss. Drunken fool went mental. Started quoting Ally and all this relegation and punishment crap. He didn't even realise that you had went bust and his old shares are worthless.

Think it's about time to grasp this:

Liquidation: termination of a business operation by using its assets to discharge its liabilities.

If that is still not clear:

Termination: The action of bringing something or coming to an end.

Please, please understand....

Agree0 Disagree2

Billy dream on m8 why would the SPL be after our TV rights then? I tell ya why because Sky are going to reduce the TV rights money by a large amout so now the SPL are shi**ing themselfs along with all the other SPL clubs well tough you have made your bed so now lie in it...............

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic fans, once again, trying to stop Rangers' fans from cancelling sky sports by pretending it would have no effect whatsoever. Well,I for one will only renew my subscription if our away matches are televised thus giving SFL extra money and less for SPL/Celtic. Sky will not entertain Scottish football without Rangers.

Tickets for brechin game sold out.Its on main website

Believable19 Unbelievable18

Oh thats amazing well its not the san siro is it lol

Agree13 Disagree24

Brillant news. quite clearly it aint the san siro but what more can the fans do but sell out the allocation of tickets available to us?
J1985

Agree5 Disagree3

"Oh thats amazing well its not the san siro is it lol"

Lets see how many games are sold out at the crumbledome after the league is over in 3 months.

Honestly, will you lot ever stop kicking and trying to take a pop??

Agree2 Disagree1

Firstly the comparison about the san siro sums up the roasters mentality. Secondly i detect a wee bit of jealousy as his team are gearing up for a european campaign n going for 2iar yet no one is interested......its all about the rangers, papers, tv......everywhere, all more interested in us rather than their non competitive league campaign n likely failed european campaign.
J1985

MUG!!!

Failing to support your club in times of need. The banks crapped on us......do you keep your money under the matress now ya tool???!!!
J1985

Agree0 Disagree0

J1985,

I was a shareholder and am still a season ticket holder for 27 years and have supported the club through thick & thin. No one will ever point the finger at me.

My stance is that I will not contribute to any club in Scotland after the way we have been treated, alot of them have short memories.

If you want to line their pockets more fool you. You are a clown and embarrassment to call a fellow supporter a tool because he has a different opinion to you.

The most important issue in obtaining a licence is Craig Whyte's continued involvement
All the other issues can be negotiatedd
Whyte has not walked away and the SFA are not about to issue a licence until they are 100% certain Whyte is history.
The SFA obviously considered the tranfer embargo a done deal when issuing Friday's press release and Sevco backtracking will have further damaged relations.
The worst possible scenario is Craig Whyte re-emerging and the SFA closing the club down.

Believable35 Unbelievable20

Craig Whyte is a debt collector now so he may return.

Agree22 Disagree9

Posted a bit on the banter mate saying similar.
Green will not disclose everyone involved, because the fans will go nuts when they find out who's still there, and the catch 22 is that the SFA won't issue a licence without the disclosure, with now only 5 days to go until ko, things are worse than desperate.

Agree15 Disagree5

This is not the most important problem at all and really don't know where you get this rubbish. whyte is not involved at all, he was shareholder in oldco, this is newco, including the assets which Green purchased.
The problem is as reported, they want SFL's 'tv money, they want the fine, they want the transfer embargo and stripping of titles. That's the problem, nothing to with Whyte

Agree19 Disagree20

I am afraid craig whyte is involve floating charge and all that stuff.. get real guys you think hes that daft...jc

Agree1 Disagree0

Perhaps the chap who states Green is not now involved could explain what has happened to the legal charge that Green held over the Ibrox Stadium value Ł18m.
Did he just surrender it out of the goodness of his heart, or did Green pay him Ł18m. Neither scenario seems very likely.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can Whyte be a debt collector for a new company with NO debt? he is and WAS associated with the old company which pains me to say is gone.

Agree1 Disagree1

23 Jul 2012 20:53:40
So what is really happening behind the scenes at Ibrox.

A few things over the past few days suggest that something is brewing.

I've nothing concrete to say what it is, but with everything that has gone on over the past few months, something is just not right. And I'm not even suggesting that these matters are related, but something is just not right.

1. We have Charles Green telling the media that he is going to Zurich to meet with UEFA to dicuss the payments due to other clubs. UEFA and FIFA both confirm that they have not had a meeting with Green and did not even have one arranged. But most surprisingly, Rangers have refused to answer any questions about this. Why say you're meeting with UEFA when you're not.

2. We then have Ally making statements regarding a meeting with the SFA over proposed conditions attached to the transfer of SFA membership and over the potential for stripping of titles. This sounded very much like a man preparing his excuses for resigning.

3. Really worryingly, Alastair Johnston was giving an interview on TV last night. This guy does not just appear for no good reason. Every time he has appeared before it has been to discredit those in charge or trying to takeover or backing someone who is trying to takeover. I'd expect to hear more from him soon.

4. Perhaps the most baffling. Brian Kennedy announcing he is in discussions with Rangers over a majority shareholding in the club, yet Green denies this.

All very, very strange.

Mac2.

Believable56 Unbelievable8

And why are all the kits on SALE already....trying to get money in quick for some reason....

Agree18 Disagree4

From what I hear Ally went into that meeting with the full intention of saying what he did. It definitely wasn't any spur of the moment outburst.

Resigning soon? Hopefully not but I wouldn't bet against it, as I said elsewhere on here, the stripping of titles would give him a legitimate reason for 'walking away'.

BARNEY BEAR

Agree20 Disagree10

All posturing, sanctions were agreed weeks ago. Ally's theatrics are for the fans benefit and nothing else.

Agree6 Disagree3

All this talk of stripping titles is a bit premature to say the least.

Fair enough if we are proven to have broken league rules but until then it is all pie in the sky.

Agree1 Disagree2

Crickey the conspiracy theories are rife today. There were less conspiracies when the aliens crashed in Roswell.

Agree2 Disagree1

Ally is prepping everyone, including himself for resigning. He was hung out to dry.

Agree1 Disagree0

Green and McCoist have no say on stripping of titles, they are new club ; The Rangers.
Titles belong to old club being liquidated and managed by D&P.
The integrity of the SPL and cups historical records are at stake. The records need put right. Rangers cheated titles.

Agree2 Disagree2

The stripping of titles would give him a legitimate reason for 'walking away'. WHY? That is old Rangers and are consigned the history books. His job is to look after new Rangers and get them back to the SPL.

Agree1 Disagree2

Who drafts Ally's speeches? Brown!

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't believe that Newco will kick a single ball in anger this season - they will take a year to sort outstanding issues out!

Believable38 Unbelievable25

Who played and scored do you know?

Because no sane person would want to team up with Brown, he is a joke!

"Wow how the mighty have fallen... Bragging about beating Airdrie and Albion Rovers..... Sweet"
--

Why the obsession with a club a couple of months old in the 3rd division?

Jog off and enjoy the top of the table battles with Motherwell; we will enjoy our adventure through the divisions, meeting new people visiting new clubs and towns, finding new heroes truly interested in our club.

What do you have to look forward to? Another European masterclass in tactics from Lennon and a title wrapped up by November.

Agree3 Disagree1

Fair comment. We will squeeze every penny in transfer fee's out of the clubs buying them though and will be financially sound. Probably go and buy young players and bring them on. Its the way it is now. We wont be making the same silly mistakes Rangers did. NEW Rangers home tops are now on SALE! If that doesnt set alarm bells ringing then i dont know what will mate.

Rangers say they haven't spoken to Brian Kennedy since mid June. Charles Green not interested in selling a controlling stake in club.

More muck racking by Traynor to sell newspapers.

Believable36 Unbelievable19

Exactly! Brian K said he'd have to come clean since the Record had 'Leaked the Story', which clearly means Kennedy wanted it leaked. More divisive and disruptive tactics from people who feign genuine interest but really want power and profit.

Agree14 Disagree12

But Kennedy confirmed he'd put in the bid & was in talks, so think Traynors in the clear with this one :/

Agree13 Disagree10

Traynor is a idiot.he has always givin us ar*eache graeme

Its not up to green alone its up to the shareholders.i think they all have a price in mind as soon as its met bye bye

puzzled ger !

Believable19 Unbelievable10

Sure i seen price of tickets for this sundays game in ramsdens cup was Ł16

Ramsdens Cup 1st Round: Brechin City v Rangers (28 July) will now take place on Sunday 29th July, Kick-off 3.05pm - Live on BBC ALBA.

Believable18 Unbelievable7

Does this mean that SFA have given us a licence - or are we getting ahead of ourselves?

Agree13 Disagree9

Ok totally gutted game on wed kelty v rangers is of due to license not being granted.I am really worried now that green and the sfa are in a mexican stand off with green not accepting sanctions and the sfa not backing down. They are playing a dangerous game it is obvious scottish football needs rangers.PS NO NEED FOR ANY POSTS SAYING THEY DONT your not fooling anyone just being stupid at best and bitter at worst. As for the idiots at the sfa they are full of themselfs so they wont buch.I did not want to see it happen but i think it might be time to accept scottish football is about to go down hill fast.

Agree15 Disagree11

They,ll make sure we have license by sunday. there,s tv money there.

Agree9 Disagree7

I think Green is doing exactly the right thing. He is sticking to his guns. Why should we bend over and get shafted all the time. They have shoved us in the 3rd but now they also want the tv money to watch us there as well. On your bike SFA cause thats all your going to get S.F.A

Agree1 Disagree0

@gutted - i think you might find that it is the SPL who are holding up the process as they fight to get their hands on SFL (our media rights) and save the sky deal for the SPL

Sale Sharks owner Brian Kennedy has confirmed he remains interested in buying Rangers.

Kennedy, who was part of the Blue Knights consortium, was reportedly aiming to take a £5.6m controlling interest in Charles Green's Sevco.

"The details of these meetings and the written offer I have submitted have been disclosed from within the club," Kennedy said in a statement.

Sevco bought the assets of Rangers for £5.5m with the club facing liquidation.

In a statement, Kennedy confirmed he had made an written offer for control of the club.

"I have recently had several confidential meetings with a gentleman representing the shareholders of Sevco, with regards to my interest in purchasing a majority shareholding in Rangers Football Club," he said.

"The details of these meetings and the written offer I have submitted have been disclosed from within the club.

"Now that this has leaked I have I have no alternative but to confirm that what is reported in the Daily Record regarding such matters is accurate.

"I have no further comment to make at this time."

Offer was made and rejected on 25th June. He hasn't withdrawn it though if they change their minds.

brian kennedy is holding talks with sevco scotland ltd to buy a majority shareholding in Rangers.

now am not saying yes he has money wee are going to do this and do that, but i feel if brian takes over then wee would have a full ibrox everyone behind the owner it would give us a real lift and piece of mind knowing what this man is about...fingers crossed for now

Believable10 Unbelievable12

Here we go again. Another day another saviour. Another "real" Rangers man who will transform the team. When all else fails, try honesty. There has only been one guy who has stood up when it was needed. Green. Give him a chance.

Agree15 Disagree12

Please tell us what he is about?

Agree2 Disagree8

All we ask is someone to run the club not for profit like mr green has said he will do.but mr green won't be around when we get back to spl not a chance rangers will be in the hand of rangers people or the fans this time next year

Agree9 Disagree5

Mr green was the only man willing to put his money where his mouth was now lets see how many true rangers fans go to ibrox this year to support there team and john brown whats he all about he should buy in to it to find out whats going on he can get a share 1m for 10 percent

Agree5 Disagree8

Just wondering, how much money did Green personally put in HIMSELF besides his mysterious investors? Have we learned our lessons with these types yet? Remember the only true investor is the supporters! We wont get transparency from Green unless WE demand it. If he's gen up he'll understand, or is he just looking out for his investors? I just don't think he's been put through the fire enough, his sincerity looks too much like a strategy.

Talk of Blackburn Rovers putting in an offer for Wallace

Good move for the boy.

Agree24 Disagree15

If justice prevails Sevco shouldn't get a penny; they've not paid for him.
Thats theft the way I was brought up!!

Agree23 Disagree19

Lee Wallace shouldn't be playing in 3rd division way to good for that.

Agree21 Disagree10

Sevco will be paying for him...havent you been reading the papers? Being made to pay the football debts is one of the conditions of SFA membership.

Agree15 Disagree8

It isn't theft as the SPL hold back the money Rangers get for finishing second and this pays off all debts owed to teams in Scotland.

Agree17 Disagree9

Right thing to do is pay hearts what they are owed if we get that much and if he is actually sold.it would be the right thing to do to prove that the people currently running our club are not like the old regime

Agree17 Disagree2

Last i heard Hearts were getting the money from the SPL as they were witholding Rangers earnings for last seasons second place finish. This is along with money owed to Dundee Utd, Celtic and Dunfermline. Is this correct ed ? {Ed039's Note - They have defo not paid out, as far as I am aware this is where this money was supposed to go)
