Some may laugh but I have been told that RVP has been offered a contract. MW could not believe himself that it was being considered by RVP but he feels that he missed out once before and this might be a great chance to bang in the goals again. if he signs or not I am not sure but Dave King has said he will fund the deal first year and European football has to fund it for the Second year. if RVP signs then no defender will sign apart from a loan deal as cover.

26 Jul 2016 23:51:14
Depends on who told you,? Depends on wether we laugh or not.

27 Jul 2016 01:51:03
RVP went to Turkey because he wanted some big money before he packs it in (fair play to him, many others do it) if we are being even slightly realistic, it's not behond the realms to sign him in a couple years when he's well passed his peak, but now? Come on guys, I want to dream big, but seriously folks this is some Santa clause (insert expletive) right here. First we have to pay to buy him as he's in contact (maybe a few million if lucky) then we have to fund the Ronaldo sized wages. I'm not trying to sound a total grinch (following the theme) but stop on the RVP stuff, it's behond silly.

27 Jul 2016 02:47:07
Well I can see the guy taking a big pay cut just to get out of Istanbul! No European n their right mind would want to be living in that city right now!

27 Jul 2016 06:33:25
Two players my mate told me were:
Martin Caceres and Dimitar Berbatov.

27 Jul 2016 07:27:32
Honestly, there's no chance we can grab palyers of the calibre of Caceres due to wages, appeal and competition for his sig. He's got almost 70 caps for Uruguay.

The best hope for us is to get someone who isn't moving for the money aka Joey B and Kranj. There will always be a team who can outbid us for the likes of Berbatov, RVP or Adebayor (especially with the emergence of the chinese, US and middle east markets- it all comes down to what they want. trophies or a last pay day.

27 Jul 2016 09:56:56
Rumours doing the rounds (no source just hearsay probably) that the "sensational" signing being touted is a former top european star, who currently is playing in MLS. Probs nothing in it but we'll see.

27 Jul 2016 09:59:11
Take from this what you will Bears. but Rvp wants back to Britain for family reasons, and palace and west ham turned down the chance to sign him. his agent has also stated that wages are not his priority in his next move. plus Fernebache will not demand millions for him. I know it's still out there but remember Waghorn said when asked about a new striker "the name eclipses that of Barton and Krancjar". Just going with what is factual.

27 Jul 2016 11:08:01
When did Waghorn say that? Not saying he didn't, just asking. Anyone else find it surprising that MW is discussing transfer targets with the first team?

27 Jul 2016 11:16:07
Rangers are 6/ 1 second fav stoke are at 5/ 2.

27 Jul 2016 11:17:02
We are all bears, so I don't want to start a big back and forth on the issue, but are some folk on the absinthe? Even if RVP was willing to take a wage hit (which I agree he will drop from 250k to leave turkey) it will not be to for the 25-30k that we would maybe offer. If he did agree to a wage drop to below 50k, EVERY top club in Britain would be willing to subsidise that for marketing and shirt sales alone. Remember there's 'serious' talk of Barcelona buying him for cover/ rotation. This isn't the 90's folks, the exiitment is brilliant but I'm actually starting to shake my head in disbelief that there's still people trying to convince themselves he's coming to us. If any of the obsessed are reading our forum (which they will be) they be pissing themselves at this RVP 'rumour' nonsense.

27 Jul 2016 11:46:20
Kingcooper your being a bit of a downer now. Too many negtive comments. You are probably right but let people have a bit of hope yeh instead of bursting their bubble.

27 Jul 2016 12:00:09
Eez there's too many folk jumping on the RVP stuff and it's a bit embarrassing if I'm honest. Somone just posted about David Villa, which I was very positive about, as that one could have a small chance of substance and is an exciting thought. The 6-1 odds on RVP signing for us is simply because money has been put on it (bookies automatically reduce odds on anything when there's a betting pattern) if the bookies were in the know, they would stop taking bets on it. Marketing tactic.

27 Jul 2016 12:55:14
Why has the nonsense factor skyrocketed again on hear over past couple days? Van Persie? Villa? What an absolute joke. Villa earns over $5m a year and has a year left on his contract, that's about $420,000 a month, or £300,000+ a month! Van Persie is still contracted until 2018, on stupid wages and would take around 8-10 million to get him having moved to Fenerbache for £12.75m.

Get a grip people, stop believing the nonsense some sad little liars would have you drink up.

27 Jul 2016 13:44:25
Not disagreeing with everything you said Just2See but I beileve RVP only cost like 3 million euro.

27 Jul 2016 13:48:05
I agree it is embarrassing. Rvp, podolksi, villa. its a rumour site tho right enough.

27 Jul 2016 16:16:35
Aldogers, instead of just disagreeing why don't you do the research yourself, it is on any respectable transfer sight you would want to go look at, the fee was £12.75m.

27 Jul 2016 16:54:47
Rvp is likely to go to China or America or be a bit part player at a top European level club.
This ain't happening nor did Ings, fletcher, Graham, Cummings.
Sell on value is the future and RVP doesn't represent that.

27 Jul 2016 17:05:27
He was offered to middlesbrough but his wage demands too big. enough already.

27 Jul 2016 17:11:05
Slat and odds came down for celtic which tells you everything about their chances of signing him reality wise, zero. bookies make money (shock) sadly the same applies to RVP to us.

27 Jul 2016 21:05:43
Just2See - I did my research and read "On 14 July 2015, Van Persie joined Turkish Süper Lig side Fenerbahçe on a three-year deal for a fee claimed by Fenerbahçe to be £3.84 million. "

Read the same on various pages

Thanks :-)

28 Jul 2016 02:32:58
King cooper . Considering half of Istanbul is Europe then I imagine plenty of Europeans live their, what a stupid comment.

28 Jul 2016 09:36:13
Fenerbahce paid £4.5m for Van persie. Not that I am saying he is likely to join.

Just that its easy to find correct figures rather than punting about completely inacurate figures.

26 Jul 2016 18:46:12
Rangers youngster Ryan Hardie has also joined St Mirren on loan deal. I personally really rate young Hardie and think he hasn't had that much of a chance (meaning game time for Rangers) but expect this to change next year once Miller hangs up his boots or is not offered a new contract, i personally think he could be a great player given a run in the first team in future, What is other gers opinions on this?

26 Jul 2016 18:59:20
Depends who the new striker is? i think he will be in the squad next season if he does well at st mirren but look what the manager has done in just over a year! hardie was out in charleston so he's obviously not good enough just now or would still be here.

26 Jul 2016 18:59:37
Yes agree Alex 1972, I was hoping to see the lad in these LC matches or against Burnley. He made a real impact and scored goals whilst on loan at Raith last season and I thought he was ready. Slightly confused that MW has expressed slightly negative view of the experience youngsters get on loan to SC compared to English Championship and Division 1, then we immediately made 2 loans to St Mirren. Assume we have agreement on game time will receive at St Mirren, and in Alex Rae I am sure will receive active support and development. Believe Hardie has great future at Gers.

26 Jul 2016 19:04:54
He's brutal. He's another player who will end up playing in the lower leagues, maybe at best get a full time contract at a championship club but that's as far as he'll go, a bit like your Ross Perrys and Robbie Crawfords.

26 Jul 2016 19:37:41
Brutal? Hahhahahaha get a grip mate, he is still a young man with bags of talent, he needs game time which he will get at St Mirren.

26 Jul 2016 19:45:55
Didn't Jordan Thompson play against Burnley last season?

He was no where near the starting eleven last season. Would love Hardie to make it at our club but like our midfield this year, there'll be competition for that striker position next season, with Waghorn, Dodoo, this season's New striker and a new striker to replace Miller.

26 Jul 2016 19:53:23
Adam and mcgregor are prime examples of biding your time, take your chance when u get it. But our youth will not get a look in as long as we sign youngsters from down south.

26 Jul 2016 20:10:59
Adam never really done much at rangers really was average at best but moved to Blackpool for peanuts then it all went well after that for the lad.

26 Jul 2016 20:24:43
Think his fitness was his main problem when he was with us he liked greggs pies haha. always could strike a ball though.

26 Jul 2016 21:09:02
And the fact he was played out of position!

26 Jul 2016 23:32:22
I think sending Hardie back in to Championship for initial 6 month spell will be good move for club and player.
The jurys still out on his ability he's looked lively and may well be a 1st team regular in future but he may also be just a championship or bottom half SPFL player so giving him a longer term loan deal and 20 appearances with St Mirren might give us all a better indication of his ability.
If he bangs in the goals then we can recall him for 2nd half of season if not we can extend the loan till end of the season and reassess our options.
Good luck to him anyway I think he will manage 10-12 goals for St Mirren if he gets a run in the side up until xmas.

26 Jul 2016 23:59:57
When we are signing young players of the quality of Rossiter etc., they really are a class up from the young Scottish players that have been on our books. That said if they are good enough I am sure that they will get their chance to prove themselves but they need to show that they have all the correct characteristics. Maybe going forward the Warburton era will provide us with the best young players in Scotland since the days of Durrant and ferguson!

27 Jul 2016 07:59:53
@albertz
There's a reason why our youth won't get a lookin as long as we keep signing from down south the players down south are over a better quality

MW thankfully wants to change that and he is starting by having teams from as young as 10 in our youth academy so now we're back to bringiotjrough proper youth and not just teens we might end up with Ferguson Adam Hutton Scott Brown and halliday.

27 Jul 2016 09:03:58
I think he has a bit on an attitude problem just like Andy Murdoch, ie thinking they are better than they are, and to be honest Hardie gives me the creeps.

27 Jul 2016 10:37:58
Yes, not as good as we had anticipated even at this early stage.

27 Jul 2016 13:05:05
He is 19 years old, and has undoubted talent. Only the absolute best players these days come into the first team and look good at that age. Most players you don't seem to see them progress and really show their capabilities until they reach 22/ 23 years old. This is the problem with us and young players in the past, we don't see them instantly become first team players by the age of 20/ 21 so we let them go, which has burned us on a few occasions.

I say we keep players like Hardie, loaning them out or even selling them with a buy back clause the way teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid do, then that way when they are truly ready for first team football and showing what they are capable of, we will begin to see the benefits.

For me it is just a physical strength thing with Hardie, he has plenty of ability but can't show it off yet because he still has to develop physically.

27 Jul 2016 13:06:00
I think Ryan going to st mirren is a great move for the boy especially with alek Ray there will be great for his development I just hope he gets a chance when he gets back good luck.

26 Jul 2016 13:11:47
Was ruined by Walters desperation to win as many titles as possible, without really caring about style, David weir says Adam was fabulous when he played with him
Tommy.

27 Jul 2016 16:12:38
mckay was brutal to people. on here aswell they are probably eating there words.

26 Jul 2016 14:43:08
Rangers preparing a bid for aston villa striker Rudy gestede.

26 Jul 2016 14:54:41
BS, he signed for villa for 6 million last year, and if we weren't wanting to spend 900k on bradshaw we aren't going to be spending the 3-4mil villa would want for gestede.

26 Jul 2016 15:04:03
Just posting what I seen on twitter transfer page.

26 Jul 2016 15:20:02
Could be a loan, but I doubt it. I'm guessing they could be meaning qpr.

26 Jul 2016 15:36:15
did we even want Bradshaw?

26 Jul 2016 16:00:43
Caw 1 its supposed to be QPR that's interested in signing him not us bro.

26 Jul 2016 16:03:09
Don't even think we wanted bradshaw.

26 Jul 2016 16:43:51
It says its us. its on the fl92 transfer page on twitter. qpr wanted him but that was about a yr ago.

26 Jul 2016 18:34:24
Word on the street is our next signing will be 'sensational'. Certainly rules out lafferty. Don't know if striker or defender. Sounds real exciting if true. Anyone any clue?

27 Jul 2016 18:00:39
You don't half get some rubbish on this. Charlie Adam is a terrific player. he's just not a box to box hard worker which Watty was looking for. Did well at 3 EPL Teams. says it all. As for him being fat. I sat next to him at Firhill one day, he was suspended and i can assure you, there wasnt a pick on him. The way he wears his strip, and the way he runs make him appear to be heavy. but he aint.

26 Jul 2016 12:42:10
Heard a rumour we have apparently signed Jordan larrson son of henrick. Anyone else heard this. 3 year deal.

26 Jul 2016 12:54:41
Load of crap . rumour started on twitter as a wind up.

26 Jul 2016 12:57:37
Heard it but don't believe it. Think someone made it up for a laugh.

TM used sensational to describe the possible signature. This definitely would be sensational but not really for the right reasons.

Think Dodoo covers the bases Larsson would cover but of possibly a better standard so I would very much doubt it.

26 Jul 2016 12:58:55
seriously? c'mon have some standards itgs not like he will be anything like his dad.

26 Jul 2016 13:24:55
actually i think he could be almost as good as his dad i reckon he'd be a brilliant signing.

26 Jul 2016 14:29:55
Jordan Larsson it is!

26 Jul 2016 14:42:48
Jordan Larsson, it is a strong rumour on social network.

26 Jul 2016 15:40:17
Larsson himself has tweeted saying it's a load of BS.

26 Jul 2016 15:45:33
bunch of clowns man.

26 Jul 2016 15:46:34
It was the phantom on twitter who started the rumour as a wind up on twitter . people really need to stop believing everything they read on twitter unless its a credible source.

26 Jul 2016 16:01:33
It's a load of rubbish the boys posted a message on Twitter saying he would never sign for rangers.

26 Jul 2016 17:25:45
Send him a Menzies aircraft.

27 Jul 2016 12:22:21
lol the boy isn't as good as his dad and doubt he will be half as good as what we have and I would hardly say that he was a spectacular signing load of bs.

26 Jul 2016 06:16:43
Rangers are talking to Emmanuel Adebayor this is the big signing Tom Miller was alluding to last night.
He is a free agent and money is not an issue as he wants regular football and the chance to win some trophies and is willing to follow Barton and Kranjcar to Ibrox.

26 Jul 2016 07:22:31
The guy is trouble.

26 Jul 2016 09:59:39
Well if you look online Cagliari are the only team he's linked with.

26 Jul 2016 10:51:10
well that would be a nice bit of business the guy is a machine and i'd take him in a heartbeat.

26 Jul 2016 11:04:50
Tom Miller better hope we get this big signing he is talking about or he will be lynched lol.

To get a bigger name than Barton and Krancjer would be unreal. I just hope we are watching the pennies!

26 Jul 2016 11:37:13
Tom Miller seems to have a pretty different definition of 'sensational' than most judging by his commentary! Adebayor better not be anywhere near Rangers, a complete idiot and a bad footballer.

26 Jul 2016 13:02:20
I don't think for one minute that our budgets are in danger in any way shape or form. We have spent less than £1m on transfer fees and allowed Mariappa to possibly walk away due to wages.

Think from his displays so far while in charge it is safe to say Mr King is far too clever to make those kinds of mistakes.

26 Jul 2016 13:07:15
What about Dimitar Berbatov he is without a club?

26 Jul 2016 14:02:56
Was Adebayor not without a club for a while down south because no one wanted to meet his 100k a week wages? And money isn't an issue get real.

26 Jul 2016 15:36:44
adebayor is a waste of a footballer.

26 Jul 2016 16:50:03
Ridiculous that anyone would say they wouldn't want Ade at Rangers he's played at the very highest level. He fast strong and scores goals he run a muck up here. On the other hand there's no chance we could afford him.

26 Jul 2016 17:34:53
So apparently a big signing that would eclipse anything we've already got so I'm thinkin they guys prob m ade his money wants to lift cups more than cheques going to be mega experienced. I think MLS player. So here's my tuppence worth AND don't all slate me here cause eve if it could happen might need to tie in with end of their season then a loan until he returns. Your going to love this Bears but my amazing shout IS Lampard ;) even tho wrecked would all love it let the barrage of abuse commence.

26 Jul 2016 18:25:38
Someone else said that to me today, but he is a midfield player I can't see it for that reason.

26 Jul 2016 22:27:52
Dont really see a midfielder again, Barton, rossy, nico, Andy, and so many others. ? Who would come to not play? Its a defender and a scorer we need.
Tommy.

26 Jul 2016 02:47:11
Another name that keeps popping up about this 'spectacular' signing is Jonathan Soriano of RB Salzburg, wouldn't say this is unlikely, and his league scoring record in Austria is absolutely nuts. If it's him, I could see this season shaping up to be even better than it already looks, really do rate him as a player.

26 Jul 2016 10:52:21
heres hoping but i'd rather get another cb or two.

26 Jul 2016 11:16:34
If we got soriano you wouldn't need any centre backs lol the guy would score bucketloads in our wee pond we would score more than we would concede.

26 Jul 2016 13:02:35
i believe in attacking football however i also think that a team should be built from the back get a solid defence before trying to steamroll over an entire league.

26 Jul 2016 22:30:02
That's Walters way, seems we moved into the "new world" attack and play football. I agree it would be far better with a solid centre half.

26 Jul 2016 01:02:14
Heard a few rumours flying about this big signing could be lukas podolski. Thoughts.

26 Jul 2016 01:48:21
I'd take Podolski in a Heart Beat but i don't see this happening Signed a 3 year deal and Galatasaray Still paying Arsenal for the transfer fee. As for the RVP Rumours Sporting Lisbon Manager was apparently in talks with his agent and his wage demands are ridiculous.

I really have no idea who this Big signing could be if its true that is.

26 Jul 2016 02:59:05
Mario Barwuah.

26 Jul 2016 07:22:56
Strange that's the first name I thought of when I heard it would be spectacular.

26 Jul 2016 10:54:00
who said it will be spectacular?
I don't think we wil sign anyone with a big a name as the two we have already.

26 Jul 2016 11:19:34
Wages would kill barwuah and imo I couldn't be more thankful I know he would score in Scotland as it's p*sh poor but not the best influence on and off the field.

26 Jul 2016 11:19:34

26 Jul 2016 12:25:58
When will we find out?

26 Jul 2016 13:04:34
It's great to be linked with these big name players. How far this great club has came on lately is brilliant. Onwards and upwards.
