What players should Pedro sign in the summer? Heard Charlie Adam was on his way back to us?

26 Mar 2017 22:34:40
That is very true because he's got a ticket for the semi. I like Adam and would love to see him back but doubt it. i think all the players Pedro will sign will be every bit as good as Adam.

26 Mar 2017 22:37:13
Was brutal 1st time round wouldn't think he will even be on on Pedros list.

27 Mar 2017 00:17:23
How many players have we let go that have went on to be really good players, adam, mccormack, Am sure there must be a few others. To think they were never rated at ibrox, shame really. Adam played out of position, young mccormack never got a chance really, although I remember him scoring against porto (sure it was porto away) in the champions league.

27 Mar 2017 00:19:06
No one in their 30s please apart from kenny and big clint. Adam is pudding, don't want him anywhere near ibrox again he's a dud.

27 Mar 2017 04:43:26
Well said coldo and jd90 Adam must be doing something right as he has been playing top flight football for many years so your eye for a player can't be good it's hard to please some of you rangers fans there was nothing wrong with Adam

27 Mar 2017 11:27:39
Charlie Adam doesn't strike me as the type of player Pedro is looking to recruit. He wants players who are all about touch and move whereas Charlie would slow play down!

27 Mar 2017 11:37:57
Adams a donkey and spare me the guff he's played at the highest level for a long time. there's even worse players than Adam that have played in the EPL there whole careers so that doesn't mean a jot

27 Mar 2017 12:11:11
Adam is a good player but we must think of our future and bring in younger players that can be sold on for a profit down the line and charlie adam is a player past his best and this season isn't playing well at all from what I've seen and heard he has played 19 games this season i think but no way should he be coming back to us at his age.

27 Mar 2017 12:54:10
I don't believe that Charlie Adam would fit into our style of play under Pedro and in any event I am hoping that we see a couple of gems arrive from South America, ideally one of them a tough so and so that will put Brown in his place first old firm game of next season!

27 Mar 2017 16:53:30
Smodge he is awful lol

26 Mar 2017 16:32:45
Has anyone heard anything regarding our former manager, mark warburton, wanting to take our under 20s coach, graeme murty, to nottingham forest, in the summer?

I really hope not as like probably every bear now, i think losing murty would be a big loss to rangers! I'd tell warbs to do one, although i do understand if murty wanted to go, there's not much we could do to keep him! Really hope this rumour is incorrect!

26 Mar 2017 16:58:57
A can't see it but football is a funny auld game a just hope it goes tits up for warbs down there and a totally agree with Dave king

26 Mar 2017 14:08:06
Bears. After reading a few reports regarding King saying that investment will happen for Pedro I've the feeling that King and the board have been holding back money and I now believe that Pedro could receive a Transfer Budget in the region of 10 million!

One thing that does worry me is that if certain players refuse to leave due to a wage decrease then we must loan them out whilst trying to get as much of their wage paid for by the other club!

I do not want to see us just paying players off to get rid of them, but I really do not think that this will have a huge impact on how much Pedro gets as King is reported to have said that he will invest significantly and that our new manager will have more to spend than Warbs did if needed!

Really do think that a Transfer Kitty of 10 million could happen.

26 Mar 2017 14:57:12
What are you basing that figure on?

26 Mar 2017 15:59:56
Highly doubt it. Maybe a couple of million here and there then a couple of small fees on rough diamonds from Portugal, Greece and whatever other countries pedro has coached in. Might get a tidy fee for the likes of tavernier and kiernan since warburton rates them so much. As long as we get a decent quality of players who can handle the pressure then I'm happy and it's a good start

26 Mar 2017 16:37:52
The retail deal would have to be sorted for the budget to be anywhere near 10 million, sorry but I can't see it being anywhere near or even half that figure.

26 Mar 2017 21:14:20
4-5 million?

27 Mar 2017 00:10:34
So you think King has been saving up cash, and you think it's about £10m. I would replace the word think with hope.

27 Mar 2017 01:14:48
If it is 10 million then real chance challenging the title right players coming in etc, I personally think this league just needs about 12 million to win this league

27 Mar 2017 09:56:42
Rangers need £20m and a bit of good luck to have any chance of winning the SPL next season! Chances are we will need to replace a number of players including Tavernier, (who will be off to Nottingham Forrest), we need a centre back with some quality, we need to either sign Hyndman or replace him with a player of similar ability and we need two other quality players, one for holding midfield and a striker.

For the right quality they won't come cheap. If we are lucky we might recoup £5m from selling the aforementioned Tavernier, Kiernan, Halliday and a couple of others. If Crooks comes back and can do a job for us it will be a major plus as would a fit Rossiter but that is hope rather than expectation.

I just hope that Pedro can find some gems in Portugal, South America etc., that will improve us to a level that can challenge for the league.

27 Mar 2017 11:42:11
Dont know where some of these figures are getting pulled from lads. a couple of players in the 500k bracket and a few frees will be our whack and we'll just need to hope Pedro has a few gems up his sleeve.

27 Mar 2017 12:05:04
TOMUSA : Not sure we need a holding midfielder now if we are to be continuing with our improved pressing game.

27 Mar 2017 12:12:41
i doubt we will win the league next year but we should be closer and to the 10 million comment i say dream on Andy dream on.

we will never spend that much and even if we do i can see the dark side spending about 25 mill this year to compete in Europe, so we will still be behind them squad wise but i can't see them winning the league with the same amount of points as this year as we will be more direct and more clinical next year (or at least i hope)

i hope i'm wrong and Pedro gets a war-chest of 15 million but i doubt that very much

27 Mar 2017 13:01:10
James Stirling, without a decent transfer budget Pedro will struggle to compete with Celtic and that will not be his fault. While I don't see Celtic spending the sort of money that you mention I do believe that they will strengthen their squad and to be honest they have some of the best talent in Scotland right now. I watched their young full back in action for Scotland last night and he was excellent and they have a number of very good players. They could lose one or two in transfers down south but would secure big fees for them. Right now, with the exception of Hyndman, a loan player, we have no one of the same quality.

I suspect that King is hoping that a deal can be struck with Sports direct so that we can generate additional income and also have a Share Issue that will bring in new funds but if we are hoping that he will personally put in more funds then I think we are wasting our time.

27 Mar 2017 13:09:27
DK did raise £7m+ recently from selling one of his companies in New York.
Don't want to speculate, however, he is sitting on a cash pile at the moment.

26 Mar 2017 14:05:53
I hope Pedro brings in fast technical players, I've got a feeling we will see at least 1 South American arrive and if it wasn't for work permits possibly more. This is what Pedro has been around and knows this and obviously the Latin Euro market. its the complete opposite to Warbs. Agree or not Bears?

26 Mar 2017 13:56:23
So Bears read that JJ is a dark horse to get the No.3 position due to his contacts and knowledge down South and in Europe.
What infuriates me is if JJ doesn't get the job why the hell can't we utilise his contacts etc anyways? Why could we not invite him to Murray Park to meet say Rae sit down and pass on knowledge and introduce contacts!

Pay the guy a few quid for his time. Same goes for ex-players like Mols Amo Prso etc can't we get in touch and ask if they know or even seen any hidden talent please Bears tell me why we do not do this!

26 Mar 2017 14:07:47
I think you are just assuming we don't Andy. Surely there must be conversations going on with ex players regarding this. I would imagine there is club officials in every club having similar conversations with ex club employees.

🔴⚪🔵

26 Mar 2017 14:12:25
Your spot on andy1872! We should be tapping into our ex players knowledge of players they're familiar with! I'm quite sure they'd help us out, no problem! I still think barry ferguson is the overwhelming favourite, for the no.3 position, and will get the job! I still think he's definitely the best candidate for it, especially for the job description, that pedro caixinha is looking for!

26 Mar 2017 16:22:24
I don't know if they still do it but i remember reading something years ago saying mole tried to use his contacts in holland to set up a scouting system for us don't know how much of it is true thou

26 Mar 2017 15:47:12
It's well known that Warburton discouraged this, preferring to rely on McParland's 'expertise'. It happens in most clubs and if any business subsequently transpires then an 'introduction' fee is usually paid. It will happen again, I'm sure.

26 Mar 2017 16:55:41
I think ex players probably have discussions. JJ seems to do Rangers Tv regularly so he is here and in contact with club

26 Mar 2017 17:56:20
Seriously strange! No matter how good McParland was you need to get players watched! And not just British based Academys. I think we have really sold ourselves short in this department and like u said a contact would only receive a payment if any subsequent business transpired.

26 Mar 2017 10:36:06
Jonathan johansan latest name mentioned for the coaching role according to bbc.

26 Mar 2017 11:26:45
@broxi17 - probably because his wife has a column in the Sunday Mail today and has hinted he would be a good fit and shouldn't be excluded because he's a foreign ex Gers player?

26 Mar 2017 13:13:45
tbh it's starting to look like almost all the candidates are a who's who of Rangers TV. Almost all the shortlist are RTV co-commentators.

26 Mar 2017 13:31:58
Will be interesting to see who gets this role. Agree with those that it's as much about club integration as it is about heavy coaching. On that basis I think one of the past players from outwith Glasgow and central belt who successfully integrated themselves into the culture of the club and different environment has something to be said for IMO. We don't need born and bred rangers diehard.

26 Mar 2017 14:15:29
Does anybody think nacho novo would be a good choice for the no. 3 position? I know he has been mentioned on the scale, of submitting his CV, to rangers and caixinha!

26 Mar 2017 15:49:59
Nacho eh no .

26 Mar 2017 15:56:57
Duff and Phelps I've heard

26 Mar 2017 18:44:29
When Pedro explains the type of character he wants, he's basically describing Barry Ferguson to me.

26 Mar 2017 09:05:21
Barry Ferguson isn't getting the number 3 role

26 Mar 2017 09:54:15
Where did you get this information from the Beano

26 Mar 2017 12:53:04
Thank fleck for that . Dodged a bullet

26 Mar 2017 13:41:42
Tell you what biglach62, come and slate me when he doesn't get it

26 Mar 2017 13:32:06
A few good candidates for the rangers no.3 job and for the record gmartin8. i really do think barry ferguson will get the no.3 job, IMO! Just because caixinha is being thorough and interviewing a good few for the position, doesn't mean he's overlooking baz!

26 Mar 2017 13:35:20
Exactly how many ex gers players are going to be interviewed during this process. Its getting embarrassing ince afaun. Its not a managers role its No. 3 how hard can it be?

27 Mar 2017 12:13:43
barry is a true blue and a motivator which is what pedro wants
