Ed you got any realistic rumours?

{Ed010's Note -Sorry, all the usual players still being linked like Goodwillie, Vaughan, Dorrans etc but new ones today include, Barry Ferguson, James McFadden and Gary Kenneth but how realistic all of these players are, is anyone's guess. You heard anything new ?

birmingham can keep ferguson we don't want him back at ibrox hes had 2 chances already so use can keep um down there

steven naismith won't be leaving gers hes worth a lot more than 1.5 million about 4 or 5 million more like steed malbranque can stay were he is thanks very much hes injury prone and past it

Miller plays for Bursapor not Trabzonspor so he cannot be involved in any deal.

I know this might sound crazy. I didn't believe it till I saw the line ups tonight. I always keep up on here but have never sent anything in because I don't know anything basically lol. I work in London and heard during the week that Spurs and Bayern were interested in Berbatov BUT we have a chance of getting him on loan for next season and he will sign for Bayern when his contract expires next year. Man Utd are willing to help pay the wages and Mr. Whyte is looking to sign a "big" name to show the fans his intentions. I know it sounds ridiculous but my company (that I work for that is) are one of Spurs main sponsors. I have also heard that Walter Smith will become next Aston Villa manager if GHs health forces him to quit. Just what I have heard, I'd love to see the goals Berba could set Jelavic up with. Here's hoping. 4 in a Row

Heard to day from a very reliable source at Sunderland that Rangers have been offered Steed Malbranque and £1.5m as part of a deal for Steven Naismith.

didn't naismith just sign a new contract? don't think McCoist will want to let him go as he seems to be an important part of his plans for the future.

I think we have to remember that although the debt has been covered, I would imagine Rangers still to be a selling club for the foreseeable future, therefore Stevie Naismith could still leave regardless of McCoist wanting him to stay.
We are however in a better selling position considering other clubs now know we are not quite so desperate for the cash. Were we to sell, I think we could command than £1.5m plus an ageing EPL journeyman????

PS - please tell me the Barry Ferguson rumour is NOT true - I can't think of anything worse!

BBC rumours page reports that Arsenal have told Bartley he is no longer required- -any truth Ed ?

{Ed010's Note -I would very much doubt it but I may be wrong and here is my thinking. Bartley was done really well in the time that he was with us and their was mutual respect and appreciation between him and the Rangers fans and management. He has went public in saying that he would love to return to Rangers and the Rangers management have said that they would love to have him back.

With this information being made public, why would Arsenal release a player that is under contract to them and being "courted" by another club. It makes no sense at all, for Arsenal to "release" him from his contract when they could quite obviously get a transfer fee from Rangers, to secure his services. What do you think ?

I agree with what your saying editor, however many papers today, including the daily express, reported that Arsenal are looking to sell their "fringe" players to raise more money towards "genuine top players" (Daily Express, 28/5/2011). Some of the players mentioned were Samba and Valbuena (TalkSport). A price of £1.5 million was quoted in a few papers for the sale of Bartley. Whether this rumour has any substance, time will tell. An apology to the original poster, yourself and to the other Rangers fans. I have picked up the "wrong end of the stick" in thinking that Arsenal were releasing Bartley from his contract and therefore my answer was based on that assumption. Now that my mistake has been brought to my attention, the transfer fee of about £1.5m, makes much more sense. Cheers Ed10

The reason why Gibson inflames a bit of controversy is not because he's from ROI. Quite the reverse-he's an Ulsterman who defected to play for Ireland despite having no links by birth/parentage etc. The ROI allows anyone born on the island or Ireland to play for them and thus they try and steal away any decent player who (generally) is of Catholic or nationalist descent.

Just like I don't think there's gonna be many people rumouring Aiden McGeady or James McCarthy to Rangers - there is a certain expectation of who they'll support!

Gibson is rubbish and would never ever agree to play for Rangers. I don't agree with your price evaluations for Gibson and/or Evans nor do I think Gibson is better than Evans.

are you even a rangers fan? darron gibson get a grip! ! id throw my season ticket in the bin if he came!You can't talk about someone else not being a rangers fan, when clearly the reason you say you would fling your book in the bin is because the lad is from republic of ireland. . . its people like you who give rangers a bad name! Gibson has played against some of the biggest teams in the world for man utd, and never lets himself down! plays in the premiership and is trusted when the likes of giggs and scholes can't play to do a job by the best manager there has ever been . . .so either you don't know alot about football and talent. . . . or you just seem to be a bigot who embarrasses rangers football club!

I don't agree with the rumour and rangers certainly won't be spending that amount of money on one player!

expect up to 8 new signings including bartley back on loan, miller is also a possibility, but rangers will not pay more than double what they received (£800,000)

3 others which will be kept hush to stop ceptic from just doing what they always do which is trying to nick in on the players we fancy!

edu is subject to a 3.5 million bid from villa and norwich, and carew and reo-coker, to hold contract talks with super ally, very reliable source who can't be named although has an ongoing box in the thornton suite at ibrox



Reo Coker never signed a new deal at villa due to his 80k a week wage demands, so I highly doubt he's coming to rangers.

{Ed010's Note -Thanks for the update. He is good player but never in the £80k bracket. My opinion is that he'll need to drop his wage demands and even if he does, he's still going to be out of Rangers reach.
