Thought I should post this. Rangers are waiting to see if that Qatari mob still want Bougy after the CL qualifiers, regardless of us getting through or not, their main goal is obviously just getting to the group stages for the cash windfall. They are projecting a fee of around £2.2-2.5 for him (slightly less than the original bid) and this money will be put towards a deal for Juhasz. The Cuellar deal is all but dead. The reported £2.5 million we put in for Juhasz is apparently exaggerated, it was more around £2.1M (£1.5M straight up with add ons) and they will up the bid IF Bougy goes. This come from a friend who is a football agent, not any of these particular players agents, but these guys talk to each other, don't let them fool you, they run in circles. I trust this guy (obviously don't want to say his name) whether or not you want to believe it, it's up to you, but this guy is genuine, none of this "I met Whittaker's granny's dug's last owner and he knows a guy who cleans the toilets at Ibrox" p*sh Just passing on what I know.

How bout you two come back when you've got some info you think Gers fans might be interested in. I couldn't care less what you two think about what I posted, just thought that the folk that come on here to read about info about transfers etc might find it useful or something. You two who come to just slag off others because yous are a pair of keyboard warriors I know that my source wasn't talking garbage, unlike some folk I've saw on here, Wullie O'Hara for example, I'll agree with yous there. But this is my first post in a long while, cos this is the first I've heard anything credible in a long while. And you're writing 'who cares?'....it's a f*cking RUMOURS site ya pair of t**ts....people who are interested in what Rangers may or may not be doing in the transfer market care. How bout next time, before yous strap on yer baws and write you're wee daft comebacks yous actually think about what yous are writing ya pair of half wits Moon man Ha I don't like arguing with other Bears, but you two deserve it. Agree0

@ Ed047, you're close to the truth. I have posted before that there is a lot of pressure for DG to move down South from his agent, confidants, etc and it may be the best option for him at this time. However.... I know for sure that Juhasz and Verhoek are primary targets now, and the money is in place to bring them in, (Bougherra transfer included, should we fail to qualify to CL proper) but it means taking a gamble and not spending transfer money on a striker, and instead hoping to get one on a season long loan. I am not talking about a complete rookie here, but a decent player from the EPL who may not find himself a first team regular this term. Mr McCoist and others in the management staff actually believe we have players who are more than capable of scoring goals already at the club (providing they get the service) I will not disclose my sources, because I would be out of a job if I did. That's the way it is. By the way; all those who doubt Ally McCoist, should be ashamed. The players he has targeted, (and I mean the genuine targets, ) have all been genuinely good players, and though it is frustrating, our club will not lower our standards, nor pay more than acceptable for mediocre players. We will pay a fair amount for good quality, but will not be held to ransom by anyone anymore. We cannot afford to.

just heard from a journalist friend, that Whyte will make a statement on Monday, to confirm his financial backing for Ally, he will also announce that he has no say on how much they pay for a certain player....he has given McCoist a budget to spend 'his way' whether he buys 1 player or 6 or 7, it's Ally's shout

Just heard from the wee boy that delivers ma mornin papers that, wee tams dugs last owners...... you know the rest
Agree0

No chance this would happen If it did it would look back on both guys and seriously strain whatever relationship they have. Whyte can't come out in the media with the "it's not my fault, it's his fault" attitude because it would look very childish
Agree0

Just heard from ma mates aunties dug that white is going to seal a deal with chappy the dog food to re name ibrox the chappy arena. sounds about as realistic as the last post.. {Ed047's Note - Chappy Arena? Not quite the Emirates Stadium, but it grows on you

Also it was a season budget and not jst for the summer

It wouldnt surprise me if that did happen, coisty will carry can wotever happens.

Exactly It's more of a loss for Goodwillie not to be a ger than it is a loss to rangers not having him as a player. good luck to him if he goes down south

Ur oan cloud coo coo land pal away and rub wan oot
Agree0
Disagree0
This goodwillie scenario is like Danns suddenly good players are the superstars that if we get them we will win everything, did you see any of the top boys trying to sign them,
Agree0
Disagree0
We cant sign class players no more, f*** sake we get turned down for pishy prem teams and even championship teams. Players r greedy and obvious go where muny is. they should b putin sum kinda wage cap on down the road its just crazy. and our league suffers because of it {Ed047's Note - don't think it's just our league. We have a debt of £20m+ and it's a major crisis. The big guns in the EPL are sitting with debts well over £500m which are manageable and they're still spending £20m - £40m on individual players as though there is no tomorrow.
Agree0
Disagree0
@ Ed047, lmao, and true. As for the Goodwillie saga, £2m is about the going rate in England for an unproven, but decent prospect. (which DG is atm) our league isn't highly rated, though the success of Charlie Adam, Darren Fletcher, etc has created new interest in what is happening north of the border. I have made another post based on what I know, and not rumours. The money set aside for DG may be used to finance moves for other targets, and the Centre forward position may be left until we get an opportunity to see who the EPL are leaving out of their 25 player squads. It will be a loan deal in said circumstances. (Unless we get a real bargain and have extra money from CL and Bougherra transfer.) We cannot and will not waste monet anymore, we cannot afford to. Oh, and neither can our friends across the city, hence their lack of activity so far.

29 Jul 2011 21:55:17
I know Goodwille hasn't signed yet but the fact of the matter is utd set a price that we should have met from day one. We would be the first to moan if we sold shagged for the first bid that came along. If Whyte had the money to spend then goodwille would been a Rangers player by now. How much would the club earn in shirt sale with his name on surely that would cover he extra we need to spend to get him but he
doesn't have the money to spend and we need to face upto that.
Believable13
Unbelievable4
Said it before - the only money spent has been on contracts which has increased the value of assets to be realised at some point in the future. Sad but true....
If someone can please explain how could buy Jela for £4.2m under Lloyds yet can buy f""k all with a £15m warchest would be helpful.

Wind and p*sh wind and p*sh. follow follow?. more like whinge whinge. just give the guy a chance ya dobbers if he hadnt took over the club the players that have been re signed would have been sold or cant you see that?. he just bid 2.5 million and 1 million for a winger and defender if those offers were accepted thats 3.5 million and we still need a striker. 3 million has been invested in ibrox you *unts are doing ma tits in. ok so some poor results and plenty knockbacks but the club are working hard to sort it out. if we get 3 to 4 players under market value theres enough money for a fith or for wages. enjoy siting in your armchair shouting at the telly this season. *rseholes. sorry ed but im fed up with this crap.

I agree, i think they are just making ridiculous bids knowing they will get knocked back then coming out with stupid excuses.coisty said theres money there for the right players so put your money where your mouth is youve got three quality olayers choking to play for us so open the biscuit tin whytey and get them in otherwise our season will be over before its begun then watch the season ticket sales drop like flies for next season cos i certainly WONT be renewing mines if the penny pinching keeps up
Agree0

Sadly Im of the opinion that Rangers are now not smoke and mirrors ..just balloons
and streamers..if whyte had money, the selling clubs would know that and would
have treated his overtures differently if you see where Im coming from I think its the same old nut folks.Remember the (HON) man in the sunday post?
Agree0

For god's sake gents, where would we be without whyte, there was NO ONE else putting anything up, goodwillie ain't messi get a grip
Agree0
Disagree0
Unless Rangers make some, and I mean some not just one, significant signings within the next few days, the fans are really going to become disillusioned. We keep hearing statements about players that we are really interested in, but when it comes to the crunch we can't come up with a decent bid. Although I suppose you need to have money to make a decent bid, and it appears that this isn't the case. We hear about the fact that some of the so called transfer funds have been used on extending the contracts of McGregor and co... well surely these increase would by covered by the fact that we no longer contribute towards the salaries of Wiess; Diouff and Bartley.. The cash outlay would have remained more or less the same, so where is the money?? {Ed047's Note - see what happens in the next 24-48 hours
Agree0
Disagree0
Ed, I hope your right.... But this must be the longest 24 - 48 hour period in the history of mankind, as that's all we keep hearing and still nothing has happened. We all know that the transfer window is still open for a while yet, but let's face it we could be out of Europe and well down on the others if we wait until the last minute. Very pessimistic I know, and I trust this will not be allowed to occur, but it could happen. {Ed047's Note - I am disappointed that we hadn't strengthened before the Malmo tie. Whyte has been in since end of April or start of May. We've had nearly three months to get organised. I know we couldn't sign players but we could have been talking to other clubs.

Blackburn Rovers offer 2.8m for Goodwillie...
BBC Scotland:
Dundee United striker David Goodwillie is poised to join Blackburn Rovers for a fee that could reach £2.8m.
United are to receive £2m in cash up front, plus add ons of £800,000.
The deal looks likely to be concluded within the next 24 hours after the Premier League club came in with a fresh bid after having a £1.7m offer rejected earlier in the day.
Rangers and Blackpool had bids rejected by United for the Scotland striker.

Your missing his point I think. If Rangers sell him on for 5mill (not unreasonable if he does well in SPL and europe) 10% of 3mill is a good chunk of money. Also if United are asking for what Rangers see as the MAX they want to pay for the player I can understand why they would not want to pay even MORE later on.

On the David Goodwillie situation. Do we all agree that Thomson's comments in the paper today were pretty much stupid? I've been to Dundee on a night out, don't ask why, but give me Glasgow any day. He made out that if anyone that likes to have a life outside football signs for the old firm they'll get stabbed. Utterly Stupid. Also, 2 games in and people are giving Mccoist stick already. He might be super but he's not a miracle worker. Support our team. Cheer them on. Fill them with confidence, don't take it away.
New players will come. Keep believing. "Super Ally does it AGAIN"
Believable17
Unbelievable5
Your right, the average scumdee punter make a Glasgow ned seem like a Christian Aid worker I think you'll find the is a (not so) clever way of hunting the price up. I'm pretty sure Goodwillie would like to go to Rangers. With the feeling mutual, Rangers will prob offer the cash United want, if Huston can put Goodwillie of Glasgow he will HAVE to go to England. Any English club will have to top the Rangers bid... I think it will back fire tho. If you read the artical he is pretty cheeky on a personal level with Goodwillie and if the player puts his foot down he can pretty much decide where he goes and when, no club wants a pis*ed off player on the books. All he has to do is let McCoist know
Agree0
Disagree0
Thought that was Houston but you are totally correct. Absolutely ridiculous and irresponsible comments from a man on his position Wish we'd just get the player signed though
Agree0
Disagree0
Totally agree, I know the media tend to twist things but houston should have had "no comment" on the matter
Agree0
Disagree0
I wouldn't go as far as to say they make glasgow neds look like Christian Aid workers because its simple facts that in Glasgow knife crime is 1 of the highest in Britain per head but your correct that Dundee isnt short of a scumbag or 2 although Glasgow is a very different kettle of fish. On the same note though there have been other players that have been alot more unpopular than Goodwillie at either of the old firm teams and im yet to see reports of a player being stabbed so we can call houstons comments ridiculous and in fairness he should not be trying to influence Goodwillie's choice of club as i would imagine like any young gers fan its a dream to 1 day pull on tht shirt for the real deal and at the end of the day if rangers are willing to pay the asking price then Goodwillie will go to the club he chooses and no1 else will change that.

I don't see anyone else rushing in to buy Goodwillie?? i wonder why, they have ''all'' had the chance for weeks to go in, pay the 2m, which is pennies for top clubs in England, even the Championship, then even after the big charge was dropped, there is still no rush for his signature, does that not tell us something..
Agree0
Disagree0
Yes it tells us that clubs are holding on till the last possible moment to hopefully hear the outcome of his 3rd assualt charge in so many years and could still face jail due to his previous....
Agree0
Disagree0
I dont care what other clubs are doing, It is not about THEM.
Goodwillie is a great player, hes young and would do a great job for Rangers for a number of years, a striker like this elsewhere would be costing atleast 3-5 Million and that is a fact.
The majority of fans realise this and we want him signed, its that simple.
The urgency is coming in because of this and there is a worry of actually losing him to some shabby championship club.
Agree0

Good point in regards to no other clubs rushing in for DW but we still have to get players in asap, so in reply to your comment there is no rush to sign is nonsense we need players in NOW and Mr Whtes needs top the pussy footin about

Roland Juhasz has urged Anderlecht to sanction his move to Rangers after insisting he needs a new challenge.
Hungarian defender Juhasz, 28, is on Ally McCoist's wanted list but the Scottish champions have reportedly failed to agree a fee with the Belgian club.
Juhasz told www.dhnet.be: "I'm curious to know if British football is something for me. It intrigues me. I am 28 - it's the last time to make a large transfer. It's a sporting and not financial choice. I can always go to Qatar or Dubai afterwards, but I'm not interested now.
"I'm ready for a new challenge. If I can leave now, I prefer now. It depends on the clubs. I'm concentrating on football. I have not had a contract offer from Rangers, but it would be the easy part."
On what he believes his own valuation to be, Juhasz added: "Five [million euros] is too high. I think I'm worth two million to three million. Rangers will perhaps make a new offer - who knows?
"I have given myself fully here, but after six years, I need a new challenge. I am beginning my seventh season at Anderlecht. I'm ready to play in a new league, with a new challenge. I need a change. In the modern game, players spend only three or four years at a club."
However, the player says he will only consider a switch to Glasgow if he has the blessing of Anderlecht.
He said: "Let's be clear - I will not conflict with Anderlecht, where I have had no problems for six years. It is a very professional club where there is never any problem of payment. I do not want to go to war in the press, either."
