I was working in Birmingham over the weekend with a couple of villa fans one of which knows someone in the know at villa park so take this with a pinch of salt but he was saying that kent is signing for villa 10million fee. Loved seeing the wee man tear the unwashed apart but not worthy of that price tag if true in my opinion.

I’d like to reserve judgement for at least 10 games before jumping in - clearly some others are more astute than me as they can see Ojo’s potential already.
Thinking back, I don’t remember that Kent did much in his first few games for us (such as score two goals) .

As we would expect, the rumours regarding Kent are flying round the place and I've just heard one from a very popular and ITK Rangers fan. He says we are already in negotiations with Liverpool and are offering £6m over three years to them and a four year deal to Kent. We are also prepared to put in a 50-50 split-profit clause if he sells in that time for more than we paid. It actually sounds plausible to me, but all the best rumours have the highest plausibility.

Again only passing on to share with fellow bears. Hearing different stories that ryan kent has been taken out the liverpool squad heading to france. As the story goes, he's signing for rangers for £4million, but in the contract liverpool will receive 50% of any future sale, if rangers were to sell him on in the future. Again its only stories that i'm passing on here fellow bears. Hope its true because its possibly the only way we would be able to afford the permanent signing, of ryan kent. Would absolutely love to have the wee man permanently. He's a smashing player. Coldo what do you think mate?

Gerrard has stated that he wants Kent, so I would not be surprised if a deal has been struck. Kent has unfollowed Liverpool in his online media account which means he has fallen out with them because they will not sanction a loan move to Rangers or because he no longer seems himself as a Liverpool player as a deal in in the pipeline. I think Gerrard was hoping to sell Morelos to finance a deal for Kent and a new striker, but there are no offers for Morelos because of his disciplinary record and his natural ability to miss sitters. If Tav goes Flannagan will move over to his natural right back position where he should perform better being a natural right footer. Kent would be a great addition to Rangers, bags of potential once he matures a bit.

Coop, it would be amazing if we bid for Kent and I reckon £4 million is a fair price! Only problem is do we have the cash (probably not) and will Liverpool release for that sort of cash? Moving on Grezda for £1.5 million may be a big thing in this move and if Alf goes it could be a possibility!
It seems the teams in England are not coming across with the cash unless they are waiting to later on in the window to negotiate a cheapest deal as he’s not worth anymore than 4/ 5 million! He is a player I would love to see back at the club and maybe this could be a goer ✌️🇬🇧.

Coldo - you are right - I have stated here already OJO is a 1 trick pony, and it seems the last 3 teams have worked him out already. I think if SG perseveres with him he is a weak link in what could be a very exciting quick moving team.

Can’t believe how many have formed the opinion that Kent is better than ojo already when the manager of the European champions handed Ojo A 5 year contract and isn’t interested in loaning Kent out he is basically trying to punt him? 😂 Personally haven’t seen enough of Ojo just yet but think he’ll do a good job for us as Kent did! Would love Kent back but the numbers being banded around are mental! 10m for a guy that’s been on loan at a few clubs n had one DECENT year!

Agree R1. Kent was all endeavour and I think people are seeing this through their he-punched-Scott-brown tinted specs. He didn't do enough to justify a fee of more than 3-4m in my opinion and is a risk on a permanent deal at that as he'll expect to be a top earner. I would rather see us promote Middleton back in to the team. In a couple more years he'll be as good as Kent.

On Sky Sports News that Klopp will only let Kent go if sold, no more loans. At £10 million could/ should Rangers go for him? Personally, I don't think so given the new signings we have made.

No. Not at 10 million, no point in paying EPL prices for a guy who had 1 good season in the SPL.
Fact is if the shoes was on the other foot and we were looking to sell him, we would probably only get 5-7m
Great player, would add quality to the squad but for 10m we could get more than 1 player.

As much as i want and rate kent, we just wouldn't/ couldn't pay £10million for him coldo. there's no way we will pay £10million for any player and i personally couldn't justify it, as like i said even though i'm a big admirer of Kent. If we could get him for £5million or under, i think that's could be a goer.
But realistically now, i've resigned to the fact that kent won't be back at rangers, as there's no way liverpool will sell him for half of what its reported they're looking for. We just have to move on.

With all the recent talk of how transfer payments are structured for the Tierney deal it got me thinking. Is it not possible to agree a payment structure with Liverpool for Kent? £4m up front and £6m over the next 2 years for instance? We have paid fees of £3m for Golson and Helander the last two season so it's not beyond the realms of possibility. Liverpool are cash rich and would hopefully be easy to deal with due to the Gerrard connection. Any thoughts?

Geesadodothat you might value him at £5m but I think £8-10m is a reasonable figure for him. Most people on here also value Morelos from £10m-25m so I don't think 8-10 is outlandish. The mhanks are going to get £25m for Tierney who is injured half the time. Kent could go on to reach that value in a future sale as well. Both have won young player of the year up here so their career trajectory isn't dissimilar. I was only discussing how we could pay the fee required. Ultimately though it's down to the manager to decide what he feels Kent is worth and to ask the board to make it happen if he wants him.

Rangers can't afford to pay out £10 million on one player.
Especially for a winger, who although got us on our feet many times last season didn't score enough goals in my opinion.
Now, Ojo, whether you rate him or not has already scored a couple and chipped in with a couple of assists.
Even Hastie scored more for a poor Motherwell side.
I'm not saying both are better than Kent but we got one on loan and one for nothing. 👍.

As much as enjoyed Kent being here last season, think he's too expensive now. We haven't even started our league season and some are already dismissing the players we have. While different to Kent I think Ojo will score more and have more assists than Kent managed last season. I'll give Hastie and Jones at least till xmas before judging how good a signing they are. let's be positive regarding our own players.

I will prob get slated for this. Lots of our fans saying Kent ain't worth 10 million plus but reverse it if he was a Rangers owned player and clubs where interested in signing him. What would be our valuation be. He was esp in the latter part of the season unplayable at times.
Imo 10 million is a great price in the current market because if he signed for us and made a similar impact we would be valuing him at between 15 and 20 million.
