ticketus made a statement stating they are talking to consortium and would be interested in being involved in any consortium to takeover the club .are they talking about maybe being part of consortium and buying into the club
Believable10
Unbelievable25
I got told nearly the same as well mate, got told to watch for ticketus. craig+babybear
Agree0
Disagree0
This will not work. Ticketus set up short term special purchase vehicles from investors money, returning investment within around 3 years and then dissolving the spv within 5 years. The profit return to investors is high. As it is an investment vehicle requiring a high return for investors, there would be no prospect in investing in Rangers as the investors would not get the level of return they wanted, indeed they would likely get no return within the 3 year period.
Agree0
Disagree0
Ticketus must ensure that Rangers are not liquidated as if they are then they have 3 years of worthless paper. As such they are very keen to being involved with any deal which ensures the survival of the club.
Agree0
Disagree0
If it is accepted that a) if Rangers are liquidated ticketus have to fight along with everyone else to get any money from rhe assets sold and b) That Craig Whyte had liquidation in mind from the outset then he has basically obtained that ticketus money fraudulently
Agree0
Disagree0
Serves Ticketus right if they lose a fortune ... They were instrumental in allowing Whyte to asset strip our club.
Think they'll be misjudging the mood of the Rangers' fans if they try to stay involved. I'll never forgive them for their macavelian dealings with Whyte pre the takeover.
Agree0
Disagree0
In reply to the peson who states "I will never forgive Ticketus" - Do you for one secon think they will be worried, lets face it had you ever even heard of Ticketus until the last few weeks revelations surfaced.
Diamond Geezer
Agree0
Disagree0
Ticketus need their money back plus interest. Two scenarios 1. Rangers liquidate ticketus fight for ibrox and Murray park. 2. Rangers continue out of Admin and pay ticketus back over several years severely handicapping Rangers possibilities wrt players, funding youth, etc....
Agree0
Disagree0
Rangers are simply not a good investment.
Unless you have 100+ Mill to burn and don't mind burning it there will be no buyout. The consortium thing might work as a group of people might want to burn say 10 million each for the privelage of having some ownership and very little say on the running of the club.
Agree0
Disagree0
Diamond Geezer
Do you not think for one second that Ticketus are now bricking themselves ??
If we're liquidated, Ticketus will virtually lose all their £24m.
More importantly, if and when we come out of administration, Ticketus are depending on us fans renewing our season tickets in the same numbers as before.
Think about it DG, instead of making sarcastic and ill considered comments.
Believe me,Ticketus are extremely worried (hence their statement yesterday).

Radio Snide just reporting that all players have agreed to defer their salaries till the end of the season but this has been refused by the administrators, and they have refused the PFA financial clarification on accounts . Makes me wonder, are they actually working for that little c**t Whyte with a view to liquidation. Very hard times ahead.
Believable45
Unbelievable9
If they where working with him in the plan to liquidate the club,
why would they move almost 4 million from his solicitors with the view of getting it back into the clubs accounts?
surely they would have just left it there for him to make more money??
Agree0
Disagree0
Not stating that this wasn't said on Snyde, but why would the players defer their salaries to the end of the season. There is a very good chance of the club going into liquidation and the players would receive nothing, or almost next to nothing. I'm quite sure the players union would strongly advise them againt this. Also, what about all the players on lower salaries that need their monthly income to survive, no chance.
Agree0
Disagree0
Can't agree with rangers players as I is another debt at the end if the season and they are not allowed to have more debt while they are in administration
Agree0
Disagree0
Administrators are quite Whyte, if money is deferred then the new Buyers are going to have to pay the salaries back meaning more money to cough up! Administrators are procastinating as there has been no major %'age cost savings so things are still not running ticity booh. I just hoop that the million a month is hit on the head as interest as well as the SFA scenario solved because that will incur sanctions with withdrawal of honours as happened in Portugal and Honduras.
Agree0
Disagree0
The agenda from wee whitey took over was liquidation.
Its no secret that we would be better off as a football club financially if that was the way things were to go.
Agree0
Disagree0
Deferring salaries is not on. That is creating more creditors. Duff and Phelps would be the laughing stock of the business world. It would also weaken the position of the existing creditors. The gap of £4.5m till end of season is operating costs only. There's still huge debts and interest to be paid on top of that. Securing the ticketus £left over is an admission by the Administeators that ticketus £24.4m is a rangers debt, not a Craig Whyte debt.
Agree0
Disagree0
Why are almost all the media outlets being given derogatory titles by many of the posters now ? Are they not supposed to say anything that might smack of the truth ?
Agree0
Disagree0
It has been reported that players salaries add up to £1.75 million a month. Hence defering salaries until the end of the season is just going to add more debt to the pile and make the club very unattractive to investors. This would tie in with the reported 75% cut across the board which would reduce running costs just for players by £1.3M a month. Unfortunately the delay in any decision does not bode well for the club however the one shining light is the approach against Craig Whyte for £9 million. It is possible that they guy is rumbled and he gifts his shares back thereby allowing the huge fan base to invest in the club and raise capital to save the club.
Agree0
Disagree0
Guys, wake up and smell the crap, liquidation, yes, it does clear the debt, but also clears the history, heritage, everything, also, it means you have £0 in the bank, and whyte still owns the stadium and murray park, = fecked all ways

Yeah im thinking of going along to that game as UTD dont deserve our money if enough go can really help the pars as i know a few pars fans who have had to give up seats as they closed a stand there to save money

Why honourable? They owe utd Money as well!
Agree0

Why pick on Utd any particular reason?
Agree0

Yes, we also owe Dundee Celtic money, they can wait. They have done Rangers no favours over the years, refusing to sell players to us, Gough + Goodwillie etc.
Agree0

Don't be daft - they didn't refuse to sell players, just didn't want to at the prices offered by Rangers. Get it through your skull that they are a business too - why give you their assets on the cheap?!
Agree0

Would be a good idea because many fans will end up Supporting Saints or Dunfermline, well done, what a Brainy Wave all of a sudden.

Refusing to sell players. Jeez pay what they were asking and you would have got goodwillie. Please just hurry up and die our game will be better off without your toxic club!!

They never refused to sell Goodwillie to you, you never offered enough money. And even if you met the valuation, thenplayers wanted to go to the EPL. And as for Gough, don't make me laugh.
Agree0
Disagree0
Reason its the pars is they came out and supported us and bad blood between utd & rangers fans after they made us pay for tckts for a rearranged fixture that was postponed at half time few yrs back
Agree0
Disagree0
If it happens, then brilliant.
I watched the Jim Leishman interview yesterday and the big man made it clear that there were a number of factors that lead or contributed to the shortfall in the players not receiving their full wages. Respect, to Jim, and I belive we/Rangers are most probably the biggest contibutors to the situation, however, he also mentioned that the game that was cancelled in December, against Kilmarnock didn't help [BBC website - Pars chairman reckons that cost them between £20 - £40K] and that their stadium had storm damage that had to be fixed recently.
As another option for anyone who can't make the game and would like to help them, the Pars website is selling prize draw tickets at £2 each and can be bought online, a chance to help & a chance to win.
Agree0
Disagree0
The reason I wouldn't give my money to Utd is due to charging us twice for one game a couple of seasons ago when the game was abandoned at half time. Thompson that day was a money grabber knowing that Rangers fans always support there club. He should have done the honourable thing and honoured the original tickets.
Agree0

An honourable thing to do would b to pay your debts.
Agree0

To the Gough, don't make me laugh clown, who obviously isn@'t a Gers fan, know your history. A certain Mr McLean wouldn't sell Gough to us, he went to Spurs and came back to us in know time. FACT

Reading the original post i thought good on you's, then i scrolled down the replies and came to the bitter comment "they refused to sell players to us" your arrogance beggars belief , who do you think you are?
Agree0

Just as well the didn't sell you goodwillie they would be out of pocket even more
Agree0
Disagree0
Yes go with your colours on that will make a head ache for the police as they would then have to segregate 3 sets off fans you Muppets. Just Pay up what you are due to the other Premier League teams and that would be the end off it, No just pay everybody that you owe money too! You then have the CHEEK to slag of Celtic for not paying weeks in advance for tickets. You all think that the rest of the SPL should just roll over and die because you are the FAMOUS GLASGOW RANGERS give us all a break. Why do you not just fall on your SWORD and do the decient thing, no sorry you can't do that as you have no BACK BONE or HONNOR. Lower than a SNAKES BELLY.
Agree0

Bigt, you keep forgetting the "O" in your name. Why hurt Dundee United for trying to protect theit club. Then you see post like Dundee "Hibs" and it all make sense. Says more about you than anyone else. Timalloy

To the nameless poster 3 up? how stuoid can YOU be obv our bears won't turn up at the pars match with the colours. yeah maybe go with their name and message to the pars board i.e, sorry pars this is our message to help you lot out kind of thing. and well soe do have a point though with. the payment of the game twice, if i can remember did he not say the tickets were half price for the rescheduled match but then put the full price on it? yeah the other poster that said cos. they didn't sell to us, for a bear that was a stupid and pointless comment. (LOYAL BEAR)
Agree0
Disagree0
Aye, looking at the posts fair doos, the pars game deserves a show if not even their prize draw. Other side of it, hearts have kept quiet with regards wallace transfer payments...shows a lot of integrity. Integrity needs to be shown throughout clubs, we know clubs are due ticket money it will come. Big one though is sponsership we need better, SPL you having a giraffe? we need better, the support we have worldwide needs better think overall clubs and not one. Big example look at wigan?? compare them to several top scottish clubs and the revenue involved. their bottom but would have a mega parachute when down compared to an spl winner. Aye dosh is down we know that but ffs dont kill a club help it !!
Agree0
Disagree0
What the fans groups who (allegedly) managed to raise £4m in a day could do, is arrange to meet Yorkston, Thompson, Romanov and the chairmen of the other clubs, and offer to pay of the debts that RFC have against these clubs.
Not only would it help the administrator out by removing some creditors, it would show an enormous level of class from the supporters that they don't want the problems of their club to directly effect the survival of anyone one else through the non-payment of relativity small debts
Agree0
Disagree0
Good idea if you get deducted more points for the contracts scandal you might need a st mirren win to stop from going bottom
Agree0
Disagree0
I'd like to point out to the yahoos that this noble gesture is being administered by Rangers SUPPORTERS; it is the club that owes money to Dunfermline and Dundee United. As usual the mass unwashed are happy to jump on any bandwagon going to mouth off and cause trouble on someone else's forum. Enjoy it while it lasts bhoys as you know as well as we do that we will be back and when we are it will be bigger and stronger. Papering over the cracks is the best description of the Celtic situation at the moment. Would they be 20(10) points ahead with that team if Rangers werent in dire straits?

Perhaps you don't quite understand how a window works, but when you put something in the window it can be seen, as you have this marvellous invention called glass. It is so magical, you can even see through it when it is shut, so you can find something you like by looking through it and then go back and buy it when it is open. Clever I know.}
Agree0

Yes Ed, but Rangers need cash now, not when the window opens. By then it could be too late. {Ed001's Note - clubs can still do deals now for the player to join when it opens, oh and not every window is shut anyway.}

Rangers need to save 1m a month to survive till the end of the season. No decision on player redundancies till early next week due to internationals this week and the game against hearts. Administrators asking rangers fans to spend more money as it will help the club.
DD
Believable17
Unbelievable9
How the hell do we save £1M a month? 10 players at 20k a week is still no where near it, I really fear the worst now, hope im wrong but I see no way out of this, with the tax decision still 3-4 weeks away cant see anyone putting money into the club
Agree0

50,000 fans donate a £10 each at home games, 2 at home this month thats a million this month
Agree0
Disagree0
The sooner we know the outcome of the big tax case the better. We're stuck in limbo until then and haemorrhaging money in the meantime.
Ed -Why doesn't the administrator void season tickets for the Old Firm game and offer season ticket holders 1st opportunity to buy tickets at say £30 a ticket ? That would raise circa £1m straight off. How about that as an idea ?
Gav {Ed001's Note - because it would upset a lot of people who can't afford to pay again.}
Agree0
Disagree0
Ed - so there's no legal impediment to voiding season tickets for one game ?
As a season ticket holder and a fan for over 40 yrs, I'd have no problem with paying £30 (maybe even £40) for one Old Firm game to help save the club I love. I'm not flush with cash and have a young family and a mortgage.
I really don't think it's much to ask to stump an extra £30 in the circumstances. You could discount the ticket price for families and OAPs.
If season ticket holders didn't take up the offer, I'm sure their un-taken allocation would be bought up by other fans. It's time to do or die !! {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware there is no legal impediment when the company is in admin.}
Agree0

What Ibrox a sell out tommorow again? Where have you been all season? Thats right they tried to keep you out to stop them being banned from the SPL for all of the bile that you sang at the last home game.

It could be anything from 10-100 million, you would have to be an idiot to buy it not knowing.

This is our old board! So much Gers fans that they want to punish the club more and more! They may have grievances with Mr Whyte but by pulling him down at the moment with allegations and investigations is only hurting the club. We have enough on our plate and more law suits can't be tolerated!

Agree0

Ask the question how can this be ignored,at the very least he has kept stoom at the worst he has lied. Heads must roll at SFA old boys club
SFA president, Campell Ogilvie, was general secretary and director of Rangers from 1978 until 2005. News broke about HMRC’s dispute over Rangers Employment Benefit Trust in 2010, you knew then, I knew then, the SFA knew then, but Ogilvie was subsequently elevated to the role of SFA president in 2011. He is still on the SFA board.
Agree0
Disagree0
What nonsense! Not saying the allegations are true but they have to be investigated no matter Rangers current plight. What kind of defence is that? Rangers can't be punished for wrong doings because they have committed other wrong doings?
Agree0

This is a more scaremongering. The SFA hold a players registration not his contract which is private between him and his employer and therefore as long as the player has clearance from the SFA Rangers have not broken any bylaw

You clearly do not know what you're talking about. As part of the registration process the club registering the player must provide the SFA with a copy of the players contract. This includes the club providing details of all monies paid to the player by the club for footballing activities. If all details are not supplied, and deliberately held back, this is an offence.

Rangers stand accused of failing to properly register players after a former director revealed secretive payments had been consistently excluded from contracts lodged with the SFA.
Former Ibrox director Hugh Adam, who had a 30-year association with the club until 2002, has told Sportsmail that the club's directors were aware of the arrangement - one he believes could have started as early as the mid-1990s.

Dont see from the players point of view why they should accept any reduction in their standard of living due to Whyte "hiding" money which is due to Rangers in his solicitors bank account which could instead be used to honour their current contracts. Was wondering how much in interest has been racked up on the stashed millions so far?

Rangers administrators Duff and Phelps have secured a court order to seize £3.6m from Craig Whyte’s solicitors. Collyer Bristow received money for season ticket sales sold to Ticketus before the takeover last May. It is understood that this will not affect any decisions on reduncancies.

As a neutral I have always believed liquidation to be unlikely but now I am having some doubts. RFC need working capital now, Administrators can not borrow money and it will take too long to get hold of any monies owed by CW.
I am actually seriously worried for your club, its not looking good but I hope I am wrong.

Whyte iniated RFC into Notice of Administration selecting Duff and Co to be the Administrators. RFC had 10 days to procede or not into full administration.
HMRC werenot going to wait 10 days and filed for RFC to go into ADmin.
They spoke to the judge oposing Duff and Co because they said there was to much history between Craighy and Duff and Co.
The judge did not uphold their concerns and let Craighys request procede.

I beg to disagree ... Rangers ( Craig Whyte ) appointed thier Preferred Administrator Duff & Phelps before HMRC could get to court to have their own Administrator appointed - The Court just agreed to Duff & Phelps being appointed.

Rangers administrators are pursuing the club's owner Craig Whyte for up to £9m in money that was contractually promised at the time of his May 2011 takeover.
Lawyers acting for Duff & Phelps, who were appointed as administrators on 14 February, have gained a court order to seize a preliminary £3.6m from Whyte's solicitors Collyer Bristow.
That money is now in a bank account belonging to law firm Taylor Wessing. Duff & Phelps will ask a high court judge to release it to them on 8 March.
These legal moves come against a backdrop of enormous uncertainty at Ibrox, with a statement on drastic cuts to the playing squad being imminent.
With a projected shortfall in funding to the end of the season of £4.5m, the administrators desperately need this money - which they claim should be in the club's bank account anyway - to keep the Scottish champions in business.
The consent order against Collyer Bristow was granted in London on Thursday and is the first product of a concerted effort by Duff & Phelps to gain access to all of the club's assets - a process they claim has been hampered by Whyte.
A March 16 deadline has been set for expressions of interest in Rangers Football Club
The controversial entrepreneur's legal advisors deny this and it is hoped that they will not contest the court order next week.
That does not mean, however, other parties to this complicated picture might not object to the Collyer Bristow cash being passed to Rangers.
Ticketus, the finance company that loaned Whyte £24m against future season-ticket sales, is just one party that may object to this transfer, although a statement from the London-based firm on Thursday suggested it wanted to safeguard its position by dealing directly with any potential new bidder for the Old Firm institution.
The good news for Rangers' hard-pressed fans and staff, however, is that this £3.6m can no longer be accessed by Whyte.
The next challenge for Paul Clark and David Whitehouse of Duff & Phelps, however, will be to get their hands on the £5m+ they claim Whyte owes the club as part of his legally-binding takeover agreement. This shortfall in "breaches of undertaking" was flagged up by former Rangers chairman Alastair Johnston last week.
Without some clarity on this matter it will be very difficult for Duff & Phelps to engage in meaningful discussions with individuals or groups interested in buying the Glasgow giants out of administration.
A March 16 deadline has been set for expressions of interest in the club and it is believed that up to six potential bidders have emerged with serious plans.
Just how serious those plans can be, of course, is open to debate whilst Rangers await the verdict of a tax tribunal that could result in the club being hit with a bill of anything up to £75m in back taxes, interest and fines.
The only hope for Rangers fans is that a deal can be struck between a new owner and the taxman, with the key consideration here probably being the return the public purse will get from the club as a going concern or a fire sale at the club.

I think you will find they most probably will get the 3.6M (at least) as this is money that was contractually agreed to be given to rangers by CW which it never was. Therefore this is a blatant breach of contract.
CW can now no longer access the account that the lawyers own. Rangers now get a high court judge to release the funds to them by 8th march.
They will then fight for the remaining 5.4M to be released in due course.
There is nothing CW can do about this

Glasgow Rangers 'is' and 'always will be'...
Think the word you are looking for there is 'was'.
And for the record, people seem to forget that we, as people, live within our means. If you're earning 1200 bucks a month, you'll be living to that budget. All your bills, mortgage/rent, car etc will be in line with that. It's the same if you earn ten times that. I doubt Alan McGregor stays in the same street as you, sharing the same bills etc. You'll find that the players bills are proportionate to what they earn so taking a huge wage cut will affect them badly. Above poster is right, they shouldn't work for free because the chairman shafted everyone. If that's the case, then we should all pay double, treble, quadruple the ticket prices. We bleed blue don't we? Exactly. The club has been shafted by Whyte. We're all paying for it. The players included and the shouldn't be made to work for less that they are entitled to earn.

James you did not really want an answer to your origional question, did you? As it seems any one who disagrees with you is either Celtic,or an idiot or has not given as much as you have. The point is players have comitments to,so I cant afford a 75% wage cut can you?

Good original post.
I'm being paid approximately 60% of what my salary was 4 years ago, to keep my employer in business and trading solvently. That's 4 years at 60%.
These players have been on massively inflated salaries for years ! So I think the least they can do is take a short term pay reduction to keep the club afloat.
Many of them will be free agents in the summer anyway ..... so will no doubt negotiate themselves signing on fees.
Time to show some loyalty to the club and the fans.

Of course these players can afford a temporary wage cut ! People in the private sector have been doing it for years !! Wake up ....

James – For what is worth I’m not a Rangers fan, however I think there is too much kissing the badge from players of all clubs that claim to support “their†club through thick and thin. The truth of the matter is that the better paid players may well take a pay cut but as soon as a better offer comes along they will be off kissing another badge. The likes of McCoist, who for me is a Rangers legend, will take a pay cut, and may work of nothing but he has also made his money. The younger players that have grown up seeing paper headlines of £50k per week and thinking the game is due them something might not give it up so easily.

Agree0

While I agree with the poster who says each person (hopefully) lives within their budget, a drop from £25000 to say £5000 per week for one player would pay at least 40 backroom and office staff wages assuming a max of £500 per week. Let`s remember £500 per week still=roughly £250,000 per year. Not bad in this economic climate.
Jim
Agree0

The fact of the matter is, rangers pay these players massive wages plus there cars, ok maybe not now,
But all am tryin to get across is by these players taking this wage cut, or a reasonable cut in pay for a period or probably 4 months, this will keep a lot of people in a job, people who would really struggle to get jobs elsewhere because of the economic situation, it's easy for footballers to get a new club not so easy for your hard working everyday man/woman, that's my point,
James

To 2nd post from bottom 500 X 52 = 26000 so how did you come up with 250000. . . . that is one dodgy calculator. Anyway i agree with some of the original post however it has been said a few times, in comparison to working class people like me and most of the population they earn a shed load, but what is their expenditure, ALOT . Thats why you cant expect them to take a 75% wage cut i agree that for a short time they should if they genuinly love the club but i would not say that they have to as i am sure they aint shopping in poundland, and their cars aint 20 year old plugs, thier houses aint 350 quid a month, to be fair you could probably add another zero for their houses so how then do you suppose they pay THEIR bills.

I work my ass of for £1,500 a month, but my direct debits are 72% of ma wages each month.
So please tell me how i could take a 50% pay cut.
Just because these guys have large salaries, i would imagine the direct debits will be similar for them than it is to me. More exensive house, car etc. A direct debit is a direct debit.
Bills need paid and kids need fed!
Agree0
Disagree0
Lets get real if the players are paid off they become free agents and can sign for another team outside the transfer window, so what have they got to loose?
Agree0
Disagree0
If they really love the club, they should play for highly reduced wages!
Agree0
Disagree0
The poster is aboslutely right. These people, or at least some of them, are on more money per week than some people earn in a year. Surely a 50% cut in wages wouldn't be so bad? Cutting from £10k per week to £5k per week - £20k per month is pretty good money. I agree, Gers players should stand up and be counted now. We won't go into liquidation. Rangers will survive and be stronger.
Agree0
Disagree0
How much of their massive salaries can players be spending a week ? £10k/wk is approximately £40k/month !! Even if they're paying income tax & NI (big assumption, I know), they'll still be clearing £25k+/ month coz they'll be getting tax relief on pension contributions, etc.
Unless they've been gambling or squandering their money, they should still be sitting pretty, even if they've a £1m+ gaff and a couple of top of the range motors.
And if they have wasted their tens of thousands a week on burdz, booze, gambling, etc, it's time for them to "tighten their belts" like the rest of us ! Some of them have been vastly overpaid for years, even accepting footballers are well rewarded.
If we hadn't paid players beyond our means in the first place, we wouldn't be in this sorry mess now.
I'm hopeful we'll survive, but we need our players to do their bit on the park and for the financial benefit of the club. The fans will really appreciate players taking a significant pay cut to save the club .... these guys could go down in history as real LEGENDS by making a gesture to sacrifice a couple of months wages to save the club.
Surely, that's not too much to ask ??
Everyone else is feeling financial pain and having to make sacrifices to get by each week. If these players are hard up, they could easily sell one of their cars !!
Agree0

These guys will have over a grand a week mortgages, plus messages, plus electric, gas, mobiles, cars, just because they play for rangers doesnt mean they can just make immediqte cut backs.
They will be tied into a deal for years, you cant just turn round 6 months into a 5yr deal and say, the rangers are reducing my wages, i cant pay you that anymore, that needs reduced.
Who are you to say what each individual needs to survive and look after there families.?
I agree they shoukd take cuts where they can but anywhere near 50% is not achievable for people starting out.
Mccoicst has millions in bank, so he is in a position to do it. Younge staff have not had full careers and TV money.

For everyone saying that players can not play for free in Scotland, remember Livingston had a player called Hassan Kachloul or something along those lines on an amateur contract which ment he shouldn't have been paid, but Livingston got caught paying him when was on an amateur contract and shouldn't have been getting any money at all. So that proves that you can have players on amateur contracts playing for free.

Whilst I think this saverangers.com is a good idea, there is one major major problem with it - even though it is asking for an indication of willingness to support the club financially, it fails to tell you what it is you are actually pledging to support, how the money will be used and what "you get" for your money in terms of the fan ownership thing.
As a consequence, I think it looks pretty ill thought out and until a consortium come forward and try to bring somethign like this on board and the fans see it has proper potential with clarity over what its role will be and what the money will be used for, and what it means exactly for the fans ownership, I don't think it will go anywhere...
Do I beleive that, if things like i've mentioned above get clarified and it looks proper and viable in terms of really saving the club, this scheme will take off - Yes, I do. but at the moement, it just seems a bit like arm waving in the face of what is a seriously difficult finacnial and legal position the club is in and its not as easy as pledging money, moving it to the rangers bank account/taking over and moving forward...

Its futile. isnt it? All the money would go to HMRC and the club would still go under. That is your reason in a nutshell. {Ed001's Note - actually there are other ways the cash could be used. It could be used to pay debts directly, if agreed by the creditor, without needing to go to Rangers first. Just like someone else can pay off your bank loan for you in a time of need. It could be done just out of the goodness of the heart or in return for shares without the taxman taking it.}

The 3 Rangers supporters groups would need to come together for this I believe. They would then put forward nominations as to who sits on the board at Rangers as the man overseeing where the supporters money is going to. This would be a difficult process but achievable if all involved got around a table. I would be more than happy to donate a considerable sum but only if the man in charge of that money had a credible background in business and was trustworthy. You can't just give money away. I agree that the fans should own a large percentage of Rangers but who sits on the board to represent them. Nobody from the 3 groups I have listened to over the last month installs me with any confidence in this regard.

Hugh Adam was the man responsible for the funding to re-build Ibrox, using the Rangers pools ,which he re-structured to suit.He also had the integrity and foresight to see that Murray's spending was eventually going to lead to where Rangers are today. When he sold his shares in 1982 they were worth a fraction of what they would be later, knowing this he still left as he could not be associated with rangers demise into huge debt.A bitter, bitter man? no .A true rangers man? yes.If your a true fan get your head out of the sand and learn your history. If some people had listened to this man .....well you know the rest

If it's true, then I for one am disgusted. The mid 90's we're a great time to be a bear, if we cheated and believe me, I fervently hope we didn't, then it sullies the whole period for me.
Don't know how wide-spread it was at rangers, whether other clubs did it or even if it was common practice. What I do know is I always thought the Gers were better than that.
I've been laughing at the bitterness of those numpties on here talking about 'tainted titles' before the verdict on the tax case has even been heard. The stuff coming out now though actually makes me ashamed. There has been moments before with violence and hate filled chanting that I've strongly disagreed with but been able to put down to 'that' element of our support and not the majority of the Rangers family or the club itself. This though, if true, cannot be blamed on anything else, it's cheating, our club did it and we, our generation of supporters, let it happen.
My boy turns three this year. He was getting his first Gers strip for his birthday. I hope that if there has been any wrong doing on the part of the club, that we hold our hands up, take our punishment with dignity and are able to move forward. I hope we're still around to do so.

It keeps getting worse and worse on here! Are we seriously expected to believe that he would tell you, or anyone else at the airport for that matter, anything about this? Are we seriously expected to believe that he would tell you, or anyone else at the airport, anything about Sone Aluko? Good to hear that Glasgow Airport is the hub of all information just because someone is apparently "there"! Do you honestly think that these two players would be permitted to travel to London and Birmingham respectively to discuss transfers the day before a match and before any announcements have even been made regarding redundancies? McGregor is arguably the most valuable playing asset the club has, he will be close to the end of the list of players considered for release with a view to making some money out of him in the summer. Please stop posting this complete nonsense, it's becoming really embarrassing!

Lee Mc Colloch has offered to play for free until the end of the season. However the Fraser Wishart informed the club player cannot do this due to the National minimum Wage. Not sure Rangers can even afford that so up in the air at the moment {Ed001's Note - that's a load of rubbish, he can be released and signed on amateur forms.}
Believable11
Unbelievable14
I was talking to Lee's dad earlier, he confirmed this
Agree0
Disagree0
Lee can't resign as an amateur, Glasgow Rangers are a professional club (or claim to be) so amateur contracts cannot be issued. Youth contracts are different all together so do not go down that road! {Ed001's Note - not true, they can issue amateur contracts as they are allowed by the SPL. Just like when clubs go professional in England they can still have semi-pros or amateurs on their books.}
Agree0
Disagree0
Well said ed! Some of these timothys want to get there facts right instead of making things up!
Agree0
Disagree0
If McCulloch was released re-signing him as an amateur could be viewed as a misuse of the rules. An easier solution would be the national minimum wage solution, it could be argued he only works 2 hours a week so only has to be paid for those 2 hours
Agree0

Why must it be a timothy?Grow up FFS mate this is serious or have you not noticed.Kn*bhead
Agree0

We cant Re-sign him if he went,
we are not allowed to register players under the admin rules!
Agree0

Even if mcculloch did offer to play for f*** all it would still be more than the a**ehole is worth, he's a dud and should be shown the fkn door
Agree0
Disagree0
Well only a tim would imply that rangers are not a profesional club, and if that was the case we would not be the most decorated club in the world with over 100 domestic trophies, thats why the guy is calling him a timothy. Also it would be a bit guttin for a celtic supporter if rangers were not a profesional club as we have won more titles than them. And really is this situation serious, oh i hadn't noticed . . . . . DUH!
Agree0

Like it or not big mcc has been a good servant for rangers, he has fitted in at almost every position he has played. The tactic by wattie to play him left wing and punt the ball down the wing for him to try and win the header against the full back took us to a uefa cup final. It was anti football but also tactically cute, if the full back somehow won the header it usually went out for a throw in, it was a good way of getting up the pitch in euro games when we were pinned back. I wish lee all the best should he be released he seems the most down to earth modern day footballer i have seen and if he does play for free hats off to him. Thanks for the memories jig 2 stonking headers spring to mind one against them and the lyon away game.

What a ridiculous post. In the current tax Year Lee has already earned well over the national minimum wage.
Agree0

Hey ed.. I hear what ur saying re: signing him as an amateur however would this be possible due to being outwith the transfer window? I thought u can only sign players who's contracts have ended prior to the window opening. Eg if his contact was rippped up now he couldn't resign until the summer window opens? {Ed001's Note - no, he can then go anywhere on a free, he could just agree a completely new contract without needing to leave.}

If this is proven true, I'd expect all other SPL clubs to rebel against Rangers and have calls for titles/cups stripped from the clubs histroy and even try to legally challenge the club for lost earnings/prize money etc etc.
And, lets be fair, if this is what the club has been doing then they deserve what is coming there way - it is disgraceful. David Murray ought to do the honourable thing and pay the clubs way out of it since he orchestrated the whole thing.

I remember a story from the mid 90's when RFC where at their peak. The goalie had been in trouble and was in court, he was to get a fine and the judge asked him what he earned. When he said 1k per week I was astonished, as I think the judge and many in court were also, but he insisted that he could prove this by way of his contract. Now its clear that he had two contracts, one for official business and one for the other goalie - Maybe this is the official reason for people saying there's two Andy Gorams.

Anyone else getting sick and tired of all of the ars*holes that seem to be sticking the knife in Darryl King Hugh Adam and everyone else on the ever growing list.
I think this is another twisted load of bul**hit stemming from a certain website that is hell bent on destroying anything Rangers todays post is proof that they only have one thing in mind. Is this because there team cant enjoy the success Rangers can.. oh but you cheated they cry!!!.......when the proof is on the table then we might accept it however at the moment it is all pure speculation!
I do hope we are vindicated in everything that has been said recently.
Agree0

Even if the proof is on the table, i have no doubt that you will still say its not true..WAKE UP!! your club is quilty and instead of blaming Celtic yell at your own club and how it was cheating not only all spl teams but you fans for they put you in jeopardy and stole everyones money. WAKE UP AND SAY YOUR CLUB IS WRONG AND DID WRONG!!

apparently and played his last game
for Rangers (1 down 7 to go)
Source The Sun
others should include
Broadfoot
Healy
Bedoya
Ortiz
Papac
Hemmings
Fleck
I also heard that the senior player
who has offered to play until the
end of the season is in fact Lee
McCulloch. As he knows at 33 and
only 1 year left on his contract &
no sell on value he is most at risk.

Any other news yet? - been through administration with a company a couple of years ago and it's awful. Being in administration feels like the whole world is crumbling around you - feel sorry for everyone involved.

75% pay cuts; playing for free; very admirable but you are still playing players you cant afford ie cheating ; is that no wot got them into this mess
