Walter smith.s blue and white army.welcome home watty

Agree0 Disagree3

Derek johnston has apparantly said walter coming back to help ally in the dugout

Agree0 Disagree3

Well if thats the case then bye bye ally

Agree0 Disagree2

That says it all about your 'manager' and I use that term loosely. He has no shame whatsoever, needing a guiding hand to navigate his way out the bottom tier of Scottish football. Brassneck or what!

Briggs

Agree0 Disagree5

If this is true it means Ally really should be sacked. That he's no good as a manager and Smith has to come back to save face for the club but Ally loses face.

Agree0 Disagree4

It would boost fans morale when walter comes back and lift the team and help coisty get team winning again

Agree2 Disagree0

Oh Carling.Who passed on that wee snippet to you.Was it charlie chuckles by any chance.Have you or him ever had anything right. No I did'nt think so.

Agree1 Disagree0

I could believe Smith bought himself a place on the board by giving Green a new pitch and £700k in the RFFF but then I remember Jardine got his place at Ibrox for the new pitch.
Smith ain't daft enough to join now and officially have to explain EBTs in the next couple weeks and title stripping.

Agree0 Disagree1

Derek johnstone knows as much as us, NOTHING.

ally is shocking but this is a cry for help. prob trying to sell more shares

Agree0 Disagree1

Will he work for free as cant afford to pay him so doubt it

Agree0 Disagree0

Why cant we afford to pay him? al think you find we can, theres no wages not getting paid at ibrox

Agree3 Disagree0

This post stinks of desperation what happened to super ally??? {The Ed039's Note - He retired from playing a long time ago)

Agree0 Disagree0

Im all for him coming back. We should be looking to get big albertz, laudrup and the like back in as scouts/coaches as well. Something needs to change

Agree0 Disagree1

Management is about carrot and stick motivation, if you have players who cannot be dropped or sacked then this removes the stick. If there is no financial carrot for the players in any form, you are left with a demotivated group of players and a powerless manager.

Player and fan motivation was always going to be the biggest hurdle to Rangers return to glory, 3 years is a long time in anyones life.

Agree0 Disagree0

What the feck are you guy,s talking about the guy,s getting a seat on the board.nothing to do with on the park, but everything to do with off the park.its purely business ffs.maybe an ambassador role

Agree1 Disagree0

Lol!...the Ambassador role! Does that mean he gives out the Ferraro rochers in the executive boxes with his cardigan and brown shoes on.... Lmfao!....ambassadors role for a fourth tier team..., behave yourself...

Briggs

Agree0 Disagree1

It was made clear his role would be a director along with other Scottish based people. John

Agree1 Disagree0

I was brought up on RFC football on the park and not off field antics. I therfore could not care less if the Dali Lama or the Pope turned up to assist Aally McCoist . I want to see RFC back playing top flivht football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Has anyone in the media asked walter
Probably not because the know his reply. This is just more bluster by Green to sell shares.
OPEN YOUR EYES & ears and take a close look at what he is spinning yous for your own good.
My bro in law is a bluenose but not a fool his £1000 share money is in the bank till pinnochio Green puts some substance to his words really if yous dont catch onto him soon it will all happen again (WHYTE)

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct poster all this off field antics is old hat its football i dont care who signs for the club too as long as rangers get back to the top its gradually getting better long may it continue

The call for Walter to return is a cry for help.
If Ally was doing the business, we wouldn't be hearing of Walter. This call for Walter is a huge slap in the face to Ally and confirms Ally isn't up to standing on his own.
I don't want Walter back it's a regressive step backwards.
Walters spending with sdm killed the club. He paid his players EBTs knowing it was tax evasion.
Green wants Walter before all the **** hits the fan this month on title stripping, not same club and EBT guilt. Walter would have to comment to the press and do what the CEO tells him.
When Ally moves on what manager would want to come and work for Walter? Green hasn't thought this through and makes it up as he goes along. All short termism.

Believable85 Unbelievable80

Smith is the poisoned past forget him.
The debacle with McCoist was David Murray and Smiths strategy of succession planning. It hasn't worked and Smith must shoulder the blame for it.
Only recruiting best accomplished available managers on the market is the way.
Why is Green sticking with SDMs strategy here? What next bring back SDM?

Agree0 Disagree1

Why is Green sticking with SDMs strategy here? What next bring back SDM?

Because him and Whyte are pulling the strings, walk away debt free and still have everything Green and Whyte mintys that what they are.

Agree0 Disagree3

Walter coming back will undermine ally bad move

Agree0 Disagree2

Love to see "the man" back at Rangers, he thinks and breathes Ibrox, it can only be good for the club

Agree2 Disagree0

...Read the news ...Walter is being offered a seat on the board..and i for one welcome him with open arms...good news for a change.

Agree1 Disagree0

If a Second Division team beats a third Division team why is that a huge surprise. Come what may with Alloa the only task for ally is to win Div 3. There is no need for Walter.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why is this being done through the papers. is CG trying to pressure Walter. why not just ask in private and if he says no then no big deal he has done lots for us - but I don't like the way this is being done {The Ed039's Note - I was thinking the exact same thing)

Agree0 Disagree0

It was advocaats spending with sdm that killed our club, not watties. If ul remember, he was very successful in his 2nd stint and the money he brought in from uefa run and the champ leagues prob kept us on our feet longer than expected. Whos to say if sdm hadnt sold to whyte n kept the club for another couple year we wouldnt have reduced the debt to a managable position? {The Ed039's Note - The big tax case result would have still left it in an uncertain scenario, bank debt might have been reduced, yes, but overall, nobody knows or knew)

Agree0 Disagree0

I like Ally and he is a Rangers man. However, our side should be walking Div 3. Who would come in? I think Kenny Shiels would be a good choice. He has experience in the Irish League, which is similar to Div 3 in terms of physicality. He is also famous for giving youth a chance. {The Ed039's Note - One man I have been touting and I dont know how many agree with me, but I would go with a young hungry manager who might use Rangers as a stepping stone, my choice would be Davie Weir as we instantly command respect from the veterans there and the youngsters who were around him as a player, and he has a reputation as a very astute coach from those working around him. Although Ally is in charge, and we still need to get behind the time regardless)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally is going no where, Walter would be a great help to him "on the board" it's nice working with people who is capable and you can trust, I for one would love to see him back, not just for Walter but for Rangers, go get him Charlie.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why can you all be so negative with walter coming back? Hes been so good with rangers and came back for the second time when we were in deep s**t and got us back to our winning ways. He can only bring good to the club which we all love, to start to critise him now is crazy, were all jumped on the big spending band wagon and we as fans are as guilty as anyone as to what happened to rangers in the past, did we ever stop to question why we were spending the money we were?No we were to happy to be dominating scottish football and happy to be beating the tic. So stop with the he done this and he done that and lets get onboard who will help the club and for one i believe SIR Walter Smith is one of them!!

Its hard to imagine any other club who lost over 20 first team players, had no pre-season and had to introduce a lot of teenagers into the first team. winning 7 - 0 to a team a division above them and the manager still getting attacked. At least you guys are supporting them through the turnstiles.

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah and those players left in the team possibly earn more than the whole opposition team in one weeks worth of wages!!
Seriously the more you talk garbage like that you may truly start believing it yourself and you won't need to try to convince yourself!
You can put as much spin on your victories against sub standard teams, but the fact is your club is a laughing stock world wide! The second biggest wage bill in scottish football you should be putting these teams to the sword both home and away! Butthefact that you can't is the biggest laugh for everyone outside of your rancid club and its support!

Agree0 Disagree0

The 2nd largest wage bill in Scottish football should be able to compete at home against ICT, 3-0 is not some hard luck story.

Agree0 Disagree0

For goodness sake let the man do his job give ally a few years then judge

Agree0 Disagree0

Tax avoidance not evasion

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope Ally hasnt forgot to say Gottle of Gear.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont see the need to panic here...top of the league and starting to take control...take 9 top players out of any team and you will drop.........i for one do not want to face celtic in the cup competitions.....lets take our time and go through the leagues...keep ally......
