Ive been reliably informed that McInnes has now been spoken to and deal could be done by start of next week, however, there are a few issues surrounding backroom staff.

30 Nov 2017 00:17:32
Some forums saying Mcinnes will be appointed after the weekends game with the sheep!

30 Nov 2017 00:45:58
Hope not

30 Nov 2017 05:48:30
Why do you hope not?

30 Nov 2017 06:07:57
Don't want him

30 Nov 2017 09:05:27
Murty's team just humped him, that's why!

30 Nov 2017 09:09:43
What has mcinnes done that mcleish. De boer . Gio . etc haven't done that people think he going to be a saviour? Personally only thing he done is finish 2nd to smelltic now if that's top notch for gers job we may as well apoint robbie neilson dine OK wae jimjams stuart mccall same with the wellies etcetc

Rangers need a manager with more experience than mcinnes

30 Nov 2017 10:42:54
I have heard the same. I heard that he will be appointed on Monday.

30 Nov 2017 11:24:46
why can't you all see it mcinnes is a crap manager and a bottler under pressure, he will not do us any good if we have any ambitions other than second place then go for it, but as i have said on here many times it will all end in tears, he will last no longer than 18 months and you will be screaming for him to be booted out, you will be watching the sheep2 playing

30 Nov 2017 12:56:17
Don’t think anyone has said he is te right appointment,
All we saying is he probably will be the new manager.

30 Nov 2017 13:50:43
Maybe McInnes, made sure the tactics were poor for the sheep last night, so that it'd give him an advantage in a new job?

30 Nov 2017 14:56:48
Maybe the players showed more hunger, fight and determination last night as the chat at training was McInnes could be in next week?

30 Nov 2017 16:48:32
I hope this is BS as last night only confirmed to me what I already knew, McInnes isn’t good enough to be our manager. 2nd place and turfed out in the qualifying for Europa league will be as far as he can take us, I’ve seen a lot of crap written about us over the last few weeks about what a bad state we are in! Truth is there’s not a lot between us and 2nd place right now when we’ve been in ‘turmoil’ and I expect to still finish 2nd with the new formation which finally suits the squad which has been assembled. I hope to god we show some ambition with the managerial appointment and make a serious effort to qualify for the Europa League next season.

30 Nov 2017 17:09:25
I would take McInnes any day of the week before taking back a washed up McLeish who has done nothing of note except get fired the last ten years. Bet the fans that want McLeish were happy he was chased out the door when he won one trophy in 4 years and had a winless streak in the league of ten games. McInnes may not be the ideal choice but I think he’s the best of the market we’re in. Don’t think we have a realistic chance of a De Boer or Gio

30 Nov 2017 17:10:53
Personally I don’t think he’s the right appointment long term, however, he will stabilise us and have us finish 2nd. I would take that for starters.
Who else is there? Some of the names mentioned from down south were always outwuth our budget! McLeish isn’t the answer, that would set us back and a few days ago Murty was a good development coach who shouldn’t be blamed for previous 2 results, after last night he’s the one again lol Think about it, for where we are at this minute McInnes is the best bet for current targets (finish 2nd and installing what it means to be Rangers) After a few years of being in Europe and merchandising cash coming to us hopefully we can raise targets and go for the title.

30 Nov 2017 18:33:08
none of our realistic options are going to get our fans seriously excited.

FDB- don't really feel he’s a realistic option but if he is the fact his last 2 jobs he hasn't lasted over 100 days in them sets alarm bells off with me.

big Eck- proper bluenose and knows what its all about but a think he’s been out the game for too long.

GVB- Think he’s destined for a bigger job than ours

tony pulis- he would make us a much more physical team which i wouldn't mind but i think he’ll be looking to stay in the EPL

Mcinnes- after last night people will be thinking we don't want him but over the last 2yrs he’s made a squad of average players perform far more consistently than our last 2 managers have and with a bigger budget and i'm sure the knowledge of sir walter only a phone call away i see him as the best option whoever gets we need to give them our full backing one thing i don't agree with is offering the new man a 3 n a half yr deal 1yr rolling save us from these massive pay outs if things go wrong

30 Nov 2017 18:37:08
1 trophy in 4 years? Aye ok Mprent111.

30 Nov 2017 18:42:24
Good post Colshy and I agree with a lot of your comments. It just seems sad that McInnes seems to be an appointment that shows of a lack of ambition. I fully appreciate that of the available options at present he is seems to tick most boxes but he definitely doesn’t tick all the boxes and until that man can be found I’d rather Murty stayed in charge. I believe we have the 2nd best team and in the league and I believe Murty can deliver 2nd.

30 Nov 2017 19:45:33
I think Murty has done ok and think it
is been a learning curve for him and
hope he does well but we did lose the
games against Hamilton and Dundee
so I would rather go with someone with
more experience and if it is mcginnis I
will get behind him

30 Nov 2017 19:50:01
Meant to say McInnes

30 Nov 2017 20:13:35
New manager is going to be long term, none of this till the end of the season. Take it mprrent you weren't referring to the same McLeish who won 7 trophies in just over 4 years at Ibrox? Just have a feeling that new gaffer is going to surprise a lot of us in the fact that it's not a name we have talked a lot about. I will be totally underwhelmed if it is Mcinnes.

30 Nov 2017 20:42:22
Aye Rick Witter one trophy in four years. Can you not count? He was our manager for 5 1/ 2 years one the double in his first 6 months then the treble the following year. That’s 5 trophies in a year and a half. He won 6 trophies so you do the math. 1 trophy four years

30 Nov 2017 20:44:31
Sorry yes 7 trophies but 5 were still won in the first year and a half. He was a disaster after that first year and a half

30 Nov 2017 20:48:38
I’ll hold my handsome hold my hands up and admit I forgot about one league cup but come on two titles in nearly 6 years. He was brilliant first year and a half but he filled the team with rubbish and was chased out the club. I don’t remember any rangers fans saying he’s not had a win in ten league games let’s keep him as the manager

30 Nov 2017 20:50:16
He also holds the record for consecutive loses to Celtic. Even I forgot that

30 Nov 2017 21:00:59
I get what you're saying mate but just to remind you, he was in charge for 4 1/ 2 years, not 5 1/ 2. He is the last rangers manager to win a treble, first Scottish team in history to make last 16 of champs league, yeah there was some dross but he also brought in Prso, Novo, Boumsong, Buffel, some of our best players for a while. So you have to take the good with the bad it won't be Eck anyway if we are looking at a 3 year minimum tenure as stated by DK

30 Nov 2017 21:21:26
wee_bear I think the board really messed up opting for caixinha over gary rowatt I think he could have been a really good manager for us

30 Nov 2017 22:08:37
Another rant about McLeish, mprent!
We all get it you don't rate what McLeish achieved at rangers, 7 trophies in 5 and a half years, according to you, just isn't good enough.

30 Nov 2017 22:20:02
The game on Wednesday showed why some people are not to keen on McInnes. He's tactically naive and I personally think he's underachieved at the sheep, they've had a decent squad for a few years now and he's got one trophy to show for it. I still hope we'll get a Big-name as manager. Not sure we've got the money now though

30 Nov 2017 23:11:19
Blueberry. he's tactically naive? What would u know about tactics ? It scunners me the amount of pish people talk on here. U don't have any idea about tactics but say McInnes is naive. His heed must be bursting with all the speculation. He's took an average Aberdeen team and made them mlies better. Maybe we should try and get Zidane. would that please u?

30 Nov 2017 23:24:31
if here is anything to go by. no manager mentioned will unite the fans. boy are we in trouble

01 Dec 2017 07:42:52
You’re right I can’t stand McLeish as a manager. I’ve said several times his start to life as a rangers manager was phenomenal. 5 trophies in 18 months but let’s not kid ourselves the second title he won he only won because Celtic got to ueafa cup final. Just like they only won the league because we got to a final. The season before he lucked out everyone wanted shot of him because Celtic won the league at a canter. He also holds the record for number of games without a win and the record for consecutive losses to Celtic. I can’t understand why no one is willing to give McInnes the benefit of the doubt even if he isn’t the right choice but would happily take McLeish back. Be honest you were all delighted when he was sacked. Were they’re not protests outside the stadium when Hibs humped us at ibrox. I’m not calling for McInnes I would preferably like someone who hasn’t worked or played for rangers unless it’s Gio but I think he’s destined for much bigger things than us

01 Dec 2017 08:59:13
Clearly I don’t fancy McLeish as the manager but I would back him to the hilt if he gets the job. I just feel we always look backwards and it’s always the old pals act with us.

01 Dec 2017 09:27:27
What ever you do on here, DON'T disagree with mprent! HIS opinion means much more than anyone else's! But we DO both agree rangers should go for somebody else. I do agree we don't necessarily need a 'rangers man' as manager.

01 Dec 2017 10:01:02
7 trophies in 4 and a 1/ 2 years Mprent111. Get your facts right before you come on spouting your nonsense. Just for the record I don’t want Mcleish back but respect what he did for the club.

01 Dec 2017 12:14:44
Dutch it's called having an opinion, no it doesn't mean I am right. But to go to ibrox, when rangers have been beaten in the last 2 games against the 2 worst team's in the league. Play an unfamiliar formation (3 at the back), with rangers only having miller as a recognized striker, have to hook off a player before halftime. Is in my opinion naive tactically.

01 Dec 2017 12:26:41
I respect what what he did and his start to life at rangers was nothing short of phenomenal. Ye I was a year out and a trophy out in what I said but take your blinkers off . If you can’t acknowledge we win the second of his titles because Celtic through it away then your not being honest with yourself. Celtic won the league when we got to Manchester because we got to Manchester not because they were the better team. I don’t want McLeish because after the initial 18 month period he lucked out and won a title after EVERYONE was calling for his head, so much so Murray came out to support him. I also don’t want him because he has two of our most unwanted records in longest winless streak in league and record consecutive losses the Celtic. Granted he plucked a few gems but they were far outnumbered by the rubbish. I simply want the club to look forward and not look back. Regardless of what your opinion is about McLeish surely it can’t be up for question that in recent years his record at clubs has been pretty poor

01 Dec 2017 12:45:11
The season after everyone was calling for his head when we won nothing I meant

01 Dec 2017 12:54:54
Got to admit I’ve always thought McLeish was rather fortuitous. He did have some fantastic achievements at Rangers and Birmingham but he also had some very questionable moments as well. Not for me. Someone a bit forward thinking for me.

01 Dec 2017 23:46:33
martin canning to be announced on monday

02 Dec 2017 04:42:56
It was a winless streak of 7 league games actually Mprent111 but we beat them in the league cup final after the first loss of that run a week later although they then did beat us at Ibrox to give them a chance of winning the league that season which they didn’t because we beat Dunfermline 6-1 to clinch the title. The following season however was when they went 5 games unbeaten against us including knocking us out of the Scottish Cup which was a terrible season for us. They beat us in the first game of the 2004/ 05 season but we then beat them at Ibrox in the league and league cup on the way to the double that season. That’s not blinkers that’s facts. Again just to reiterate, get all your facts in place before coming on here spouting your nonsense and once again just so you know, I don’t want Mcleish back either but not going to listen to lies getting made up about his Rangers record. An apology is all it takes.
