Heard from a good source that rangers are close to snapping up:

Graham Dorrans (WBA)
David Goodwillie (Dundee United)
Matt Mills (reading)

however if that fails, Michael Owen is being considered to play along side jelavic

also McGregor Davis and Weir all close to signing new deals keeping the latter on for 1 more year with Mcgregor and Davis signing until 2016.

Bartley and Diouf are almost certain to resign on loan however Weiss won't be as Mancini doesn't believe the SPL can give him the experience he needs!

I am starting to believe that this Petric signing is true. The price and exactly when it will happen I don't pretend to know I would guestimate £3.5m but as Croatia play Georgia on Friday night I doubt he will be excused to attend signing talks - I think theres a 5 day rule for joining up with International squads
Anyway Hamburg S.V. Have signed CB Michael Mancienne from Chelski (SSNews) as a possible replacement?
I know the cynics will say It doesn't mean hes leaving or even signing for the Champs but I just thought I would post this as when I read some of the rumours of players I am happy to be associated with its always nice when somebody adds Other reasons why the player might sign

"real radio sports desk scotland have just confirmed that petric is having a medical at murray park, it was on the half 9 sports news. . . . . . ."

No record of this anywhere on the Internet mate, as I told you two days ago he is top of the gaffer shopping list but I would be more than surprised if he signed tomorrow. Why would he be at Murray park at half ten? There is no deadline to beat. . . I smell s**te

Hero

{Ed010's Note -I thank you all for the vast volumes of post received on this topic and as a result, I have jumped on the back of Hero's posts to advise of what is happening with this rumour as Hero's and my views, are as one.

There is no evidence to suggest that Petric is even in the UK, let alone at Murray Park. Even if he was in Scotland, there is no need for him to be at Murray Park at this time of night as there is no deadline to met. Finally, there are no reports anywhere online regarding this story and the tabloid press are usually the first to report a story like this, as they have feelance reporters sitting in the airports, just waiting for an exclusive.

Finally, as I alluded to earlier, there have been at least 30 posts on this matter, all essentially with the same information, so in accordance with site rules, only this one post is being uploaded and as of now, this thread is officially closed. That is not to say, that if there are any future rumours concerning Petric, they will not be considered because they will, only tonight's won't. Cheers Ed10 and thx to Hero

Chaps, end of contracts are today, the 31st may so you will see signings confirmed tomorrow. From what I hear, some of what has been posted earlier is incorrect. Here is the low down as I have had it reported to me.

Demba ba - Sunderland bound.

Eidur gudjohnsen - fulham after loan spell.

David vaughn - decision made this week. Rangers or Sunderland.

David goodwillie - signed for 2.2 million with fleck and andy little on loan for the season. Option to buy little will be included.

Johnny Russell - expect a bid of 750k.

Believable13 Unbelievable20

31 May 2011 20:45:57
Rangers:-

I won't be surprised if McGregor ends up at Villa. Jelavic might attract a big bid. He was always going to work his ticket and is clearly EPL standard.

Possibly Kenny Miller returning for 300 - 400k (He and his family are Homesick)

Kyle Bartley - Loan Deal still to be concluded. A lot depends on how well he recovers from the knee injury and how well he shapes up in pre-season. Wenger may be keen to keep him as he gained positive reviews at Gers/Sheff Utd

Weiss/Diouf/Healy unlikely to re-signed on any basis

David Vaughan - probably opt for Sunderland which is no bad thing as he'll be a squad player

Bougie/Weir both likely to be elsewhere. At least wo new CB's required. John Brown has been tasked to find another Cuellar.

Emerenko - good player but move unlikely after he said Rangers players tried to injury him in February. Dressing rooms at Ibrox with Big Ego's.

Goodwillie - possible but not a priority unless Jelavic goes and may be priced out of move by DU valuations

Priorities are otherwise two CB's and a Central Midfielder and a winger

Quality over quantity again but if Greggs and Jela go for big money there could a lot more additions, interesting summer ahead for Gers fans

Olympique Lyon s Sunderland loanee John Mensah has reportedly rejected an offer to join Scottish champions Rangers.

Gers boss Ally McCoist was believed to be keen to bring the Ghana international to Ibrox as veteran centre-half David Weir decides on his playing future with Mensah s agent confirming the interest about a week ago.

It is true that Rangers have expressed interest in John, Fabien Piveteau, told GhanaWeb. But we are looking at other offers and taking into consideration the price tag before making a move.

We have to sit with John's former club Lyon for a better deal for both parties, for now, we are just considering some factors before taking the next plan of action.

But 28-year old Mensah, who just finished his second season on loan with Sunderland, says he is keen to remain in England if he can.

I love English football, I love the pace and the atmosphere, so yes I would love to stay in the Premiership and that is my first choice, he told KickOffGhana.

But there are offers and hopefully I can settle on the best. aww well keep looking then ally

Only 5 players could be leaving, Weir coaching at Everton. Bougherra 2m going to EPL, (he doesn't want to play for us). Edu 1m to Turkey. Fleck on loan to Dundee Utd, (he just needs to play week in and week out, will come good). Just don't like Diouf. . We need 3 center backs Kyle Bartley 3m, Granqvist 1m, Bikey 1m. If Mcgregor goes to Spurs then we should ask for Younis Kaboul plus 4m. Wouldn't need Bikey then. Then just these 3 Dorrans 3m, Eagles 2m, Goodwille 1-2m.

Stephen McManus was interviewed in the scottish sun last week and clearly stated he was loving playing his football in the championship with middelsborgh so this rumour is highly likley untrue

Sky sports reporting craig mackail-smith would command a £4 million fee think its fair to say he must be under contract as they turned down £2.5 million in january from norwich.

Dont think he is worth that imo would rather goodwillie for half that? Have been told that a new centre half could be done by next week plays in french league but not been given a name yet is young and not that well known??
