According to the sun newspaper this evening, reports stating that rangers are in the race to sign ex hibs midfielder, dylan mcgeouch! Rangers no.2,gary mcallister has inquired about mcgeouch's situation! He used to be on rangers books and now in his mid 20's, would be an excellent signing for us IMHO! He was the unsung hero in the hibs midfield at times last season especially! He goes about his work in midfield superbly well! I also rate john mcginn highly but would be the 1st to admit that mcgeouch makes mcginn the player he is! I've often stated on here that john mcginn will end up at celtic and not us, unfortunately! But if we could sign mcgeouch it would soften the blow, as he's also a terrific, still young midfielder!

31 May 2018 23:43:44
McGinn isn’t as good as he is made out to be I wouldn’t worry too much if he ended up at Celtic.

01 Jun 2018 01:23:07
I agree supercooper.

Would cost us nothing as out of contact, knows the league and Scottish football well. Low risk. I’d go for it.

Plus, Hibs are offering him 3k a week as one last throw of the dice to resign, would make him one of their highest earners. On that wage he’d be on our low side.

01 Jun 2018 05:32:10
Would be a quality signing especially for free.

01 Jun 2018 07:11:32
I think he would be better than a few on our squad but i don't think he’s good enough to help us challenge.
He would add to the depth of the squad but i wouidnt get too excited about it if it happened

01 Jun 2018 07:59:47
if memory serves me right did we not do a swap deal with celtic they took dylan mcgeouch and we got gregg wylde in return.

01 Jun 2018 08:00:12
Could end up being a Thompson brown situation. I'd take him. Very dood player when fit.

01 Jun 2018 08:01:39
3k from hibs. we could easily offer him 6k blow their offer out the water and he’d still be on then lower side of our wages.

01 Jun 2018 08:47:51
teams in england also rumoured to be chasing him who would also offer him much more

let’s hope the gerrard effect can kick in as the lads a decent player, on a free and knows SPL

agree with JJK he is similar to Kev Thomson so i’d def take him any games i’ve seen him vs ourselves aberdeen and then he’s competed and kept hibs in control of games

he wldnt be bullied that’s for sure and wldnt cost 4/ 5m hibs are apparently demanding for mcginn who’s good but not that good

01 Jun 2018 09:32:35
Is he a better player than rossiter mcrorie or jack who all play same position? No is the answer

01 Jun 2018 10:10:03
Another defensive midfielder who is no better than the load we all ready have! We need to up the quality not keep it the same standard.

01 Jun 2018 11:31:23
Another michael ohalleron - its a no from me. Will happily pick up his wage and not try a bit to help the club. Much better players out there.

01 Jun 2018 16:53:53
I work with Dylans brother Darren and can confirm the interest from us. he also has blackburn and a few down south. Big sticking point for him is who he is and who he used to play for he thinks might not be accepted by few small minded fans regardless of his ability. Also the interest wws declared before stevie G was announced

01 Jun 2018 19:26:24
187254 it's got absolutely nothing to do with who he used to play for or the 'small minded fans' you so easily and stupidly decry. It's because he's no better than what we have and the fact that he left us once before to move to the dark side where his fenian heart still lies. He's another O'Halloran in waiting, someone who will take the blue pound and contribute nothing to the cause.

01 Jun 2018 22:51:00
Hahaa thank you for proving my point dutycalls. so simple. I am not lying with what i say he is not sure about the reaction of the support. My guess is he will end up in england as this is whar darren seems to think also. He has already knocked back the sheep as they are no different from hibs.

02 Jun 2018 01:13:56
I sincerely hope he ends up in England and not Ibrox. I don't know what you are talking about when you claim I proved your point. What point?

31 May 2018 22:04:03
Good luck to our new boss tomorrow hopefully he can bring some stability to this club for a change and get a team that can actually challenge for something and get a team that actually has some heart and understand what it must feel like to wear that famous blue jersey and win trophies, 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

01 Jun 2018 06:37:03
Good luck STEVIE G! Welcome to glasgow rangers, the most successful football club on the planet! Leave here a legend mate and have us walking on air! The greatest supporters will back you to the hilt stevie! IN YOUR WORDS, "LET'S GO!

01 Jun 2018 12:44:33
Agree with the 2 posts
Good luck SG

31 May 2018 21:54:26
Hopefully wee billy gilmour will come back on loan in next couple of years now he's starting to feature at a decent level.

31 May 2018 18:16:02
Miller and Wallace both fined a month's wages and suspensions lifted.

31 May 2018 18:35:54
Good now our captain get back ti work

31 May 2018 20:10:45
Sad end to Millers time at Ibrox. However cannot believe nothing was done about Candeias and Hallidays antics during that defeat. Embarrassing how both Miller and Wallace were dealt with by the club

31 May 2018 21:23:47
Won’t be the captain for much longer!

31 May 2018 21:28:06
he's proven that he is a disruptive influence

31 May 2018 21:39:52
Wallace will be a good squad player Don't think he'll make left back his own now He has been out injured too long I'd love to see him hit the form we know he can

31 May 2018 21:50:56
Guessing that’s millers contract now up and he will go. Probs to hibs which isn’t great. Would have been better if we could have used him and Halliday in a deal to try and get mcginn.

31 May 2018 23:54:20
Kenny Miller's value at his age is zero though. Halliday worth about 250k. Wouldn't put much of a dent in what Hibs are wanting for McGinn

01 Jun 2018 07:50:15
Miller has been a decent player but he's obviously also a bit of a sh*t stirrer

01 Jun 2018 14:54:44
Miller was fined 2 weeks wages not a month, but his contract expired at midnight so will be interesting to see how this plays out. Wallace been told to report back for the 15th.

01 Jun 2018 23:16:29
Miller to Livi as player manager is the chat

31 May 2018 15:22:25
Leaked image of white away strip on DR on line site. Not sure if this is a spoof top. hope not as it’s cracking and can’t wait to buy it for holiday

31 May 2018 16:11:10
Spoof top. someone made them on computer. Then they got made in Turkey. Nothing lìke walkin about proudly sporting a 100% rip off top

31 May 2018 16:15:35
Its a cheap Turkish rip off, just like the Orange one last week.

31 May 2018 17:47:21
It looks more like a Great British Olympic teams away top

31 May 2018 18:11:50
Is it just me or are the fake rumoured ones always nicer than the actual ones we get? 🤣🤣

31 May 2018 18:46:57
Hope its not. Horrendous. Bloody union jack. Why not a saltire? Are ramgers not scottish. Rise above that bile. Its the same old crap whereby tic tops have the tricolour on. Irish my arse. If it is the union jack top i wouldn't be very surprised. IMO Its a stupid move. let's face it though, there have been plenty stupid moves from the people who run rangers.

31 May 2018 19:25:04
We are British as well as Scottish, can you say the same for Celtic and the Irish flag? Grow up.

31 May 2018 20:36:01
The Saltire is incorporated within the Union Flag, confirming we are both Scottish and British. It's not difficult.

31 May 2018 20:47:56
No doubt martyb125 is one of wee Jimmy Krankies gang 😆😭🇬🇧

31 May 2018 21:03:34
I'm with wmw on that one.

British and Scottish.

31 May 2018 21:14:38
Martyb, does that mean that the Rangers fans need to stop displaying union jacks at Ibrox, and wave scottish flags instead?
It might be mistaken for an SNP rally,

31 May 2018 21:37:31
Martyb125, so now you want to bring politics into the mix. SCOTLAND don't have a flag now, the SNP nicked it lol

01 Jun 2018 07:30:19
Rangers are Scottish.
End of.

01 Jun 2018 07:34:59
Best get used to Rangers being Scottish.
The UK won't exist for much longer.

01 Jun 2018 09:55:46
Buddy666 unless I'm very much mistaken, our beautiful wee country had a big vote on that back in 2014, " once in a lifetime " we were told, so regardless of what wee jimmy says were british and will be so for many years to come.

01 Jun 2018 22:00:44
God save our queen

01 Jun 2018 22:29:11
I am Scottish through and through that top is a joke.

01 Jun 2018 23:09:10
In a recent poll it was revealed that almost 50% of our fanbase are supporters of an independent Scotland (I'm one of them) . Isn't it obvious to even the most fervent uk nationalist gers fan that having a union flag on our away strip would alienate the indy half of our support especially in this political climate? As for whether we're Scottish or British, we're both! In fact when we become independent, (fingers crossed) we'll still be british! I have no probs with being british, it's being in the uk I have an issue with. Now can we end all the political talk and get on with what we're here for which is football. We're all Rangers fans here after all.

30 May 2018 13:02:45
I have it from a very reliable sauce that Steve G is in talk with close friend of John Terry about coming to ibrox to finish his career after being released by Villa. i feel this would be a cushty signing for CB and captain.

31 May 2018 13:43:28
Is it HP? Brown or Tomato?

31 May 2018 13:56:44
Would love to see this happen but unfortunately if we can’t afford Skrtel I doubt we could afford Terry! Reckon he will join Lampard, hopenim wrong though! Would love to see him up at Ibrox.

31 May 2018 14:08:11
95 - hope not! 1 cost £££ ; 2 bombscare- referees and opposition would look to make a name for themselves ; 3 he wouldn't be able to leave his house in our lovely wee country and 4 would you pass up 200k a week for a year in China?

31 May 2018 15:25:28
John Terry a bombscare? Sure, maybe he struggles against someone like Aguero now for pace (he is 37) but any Rangers fan who thinks John Terry isn't good enough for the SPL and for us is clearly expecting us to sign Messi.

31 May 2018 15:28:54
Terry will be at derby or celtic nxt season

31 May 2018 17:20:52
terry **** off Alvex is better than Terry and probably quicker i hate seeing is linked with guys last their best we need guys that's quicker and younger than terry or skirtel or Alves i'd like to see Bartley and Goodson in the back with a new aswell

31 May 2018 21:50:03
I'd rather see us linked with old players than young teenagers from other clubs that drives me insane hate that.

31 May 2018 13:01:15
According to the Liverpool Echo we are interested in 18 year old Alex Dennyfrom Everton.

31 May 2018 14:48:14
I know the sports editor there. He confirms this.

31 May 2018 23:19:03
Rangers have indeed registered an interest in this young player. Those dafties who still read them can find the same story in the Rhebel and the S*n.

31 May 2018 10:38:17
Good Morning Lads,

Liverpool fan here.

I know it's a bit round the houses, but I've heard from a source in Middlesbrough FC, that Rangers have made contact to Leeds United about Liam Cooper.

I don't know how true it is, but as a Liverpool fan living in North Yorkshire, I have no reason to randomly make up Rangers rumours.

Good luck for your season ahead, hopefully you can break Brendan's run.

31 May 2018 14:52:19
Liam Cooper has not long since signed a 4-year deal at Leeds and is their captain. He loves it there and is Yorkshire born and bred. He'd take some amount of persuading, a hefty fee and a big, chunky wage.

31 May 2018 08:35:38
I read Motherwell and St Johnstone want O'halloran, they can have him, at a price, if they're not willing to pay what we ask, he can rot in the stands, as for John Terry, no thanks, he's done.

31 May 2018 08:39:18
Why would we pay him to rot in the stands? I’d prefer to use his salary on someth8ng positive!

31 May 2018 08:52:04
DK17- If we're wanting ex amount of money for him but don't get it, then let him rot in the stand, it's either that or pay him off and we need the money as it is.

31 May 2018 09:46:57
Have to agree if Motherwell or St Johnstone don’t come up with the asking fee why should we just let him go? We aren’t here to help out these teams and why should we just give in and let players go for next to nothing?

31 May 2018 09:47:36
If we need the money why woukd we pay him to rot in the stands?

31 May 2018 10:18:05
I am sick and tired of us giving away our players for less than we paid look at Flo bought for 12m sold for 6m. If clubs want our players make them pay.

31 May 2018 10:19:19
So for a guy that was brought in for an alleged 500k. So you can shave a bit off of that (he probably hasn't made the full appearances if that was even part of the deal) . You refuse £150k and pay out mabey the same again in wages next year? 🤔👍
Along with the buffalo and Bruno he could be one of the undisclosed fee departures. Watch this space

31 May 2018 10:23:41
Geez GMW, because as i said, if we don't get what we're asking for him, we should let him rot, it's either that or we pay him off, meaning we've lost money, must be rocket science to some people ;-D

31 May 2018 11:43:48
The problem with that tho Stuz is what are his wages each week? I'm all for letting him got but not if it costs us more in wages than what we can get on a transfer mate.

31 May 2018 11:53:12
Stuz if we let him rot yet still pay, his wages we lose out as we are paying a guy and not getting his services. rocket science indeed.

31 May 2018 12:25:26
Kri55, you obviously don't get it, we've been shafted by everyone, other teams in Scotland expect us to pay over the odds for their players so we should do the same or at least get what we ask for. If we don't, we let him rot, especially after the photos of him at the Celtic end, if we pay him off, we're letting him get what he wants and yes maybe Rangers want this too but we're still going to pay wages for someone else coming in.
Someone else has mentioned this before, it seems if a Gers fan has an opinion, other Gers fans seem to shoot them down and totally dismiss their comments, so much for unity and i've done it because people have shot me down first. Now get a grip of yourselves and let's have CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.

31 May 2018 12:41:51
If we don't get what we want I say he rots. Why should we let smaller clubs get our players on the cheap. They don't do the same to us. Those days are gone.

31 May 2018 13:05:19
Its all about opinions. Mine is that paying him off rather than selling him would be plain stupid. With regards to not getting what we want. We're a big club in our country, every big club in every country pays over odds for up and coming potential talant. We're not going to recoup much of the fee we paid because he's now proved that he's not a great player who won't attract a sell on fee, he's older and hasn't played much football. As i said we're a big club, if you can't handle losing some money on a twit that didn't work out, maybe support partick thistle. But don't be bitter to the detriment of our club

31 May 2018 13:09:07
If MOH is on 5k a week ( probably around that figure ) if he has 2 years left on his deal then he is due £500k wages. Neither Motherwell or St Johnstone are likely to pay more than £1.5k a week in wages. Therefore MOH is then ( over the 2 years) £350k short in wages so he ain't going to go. Simple answer is accept £100k for him and use that as part of a pay off. by my reckoning that costs the club £250k. Or keep him for 2 years at a cost of £500k.
Financial realities chaps!
That's nothing wait till Alves, Cardoso and Pena negotiations kick in .
Much of the above is my bad feelings about the kid from Brighton . He is unproven . Possibly a fitness disaster in waiting and there is talk of a £3 mill fee and 20k a week in wages. Huge gamble. Not worth the risk in my view

regards to you all
Ray

31 May 2018 13:09:37
Sounds like Pena agent is looking for a termination of his contract to let him go. Pena had been rotten but I don’t think we can afford to pay him off or let him go but history shows we probably will let him leave for nowt.

31 May 2018 14:55:10
Ralph10 we bought Flo for £12m then sold him for £8.2m and in between he happened to score 40 goals for us in 72 games. I'd say that was actually a fair return.

31 May 2018 16:15:30
better to get our money back get rid as soon as possible

31 May 2018 16:22:32
Stuz you just said about opinions etc yet you were the first one to have a go at someone further up the post then at me. Yes we would use the wage on someone else however that someone else would be in the team or fighting for the place in the team. Something MOH currently isn't doing so yes letting him rot does not benefit rangers at all

31 May 2018 16:47:12
Duty calls no we sold him for 6.75 million not 8.2 pal so the guy was closer to it than you. So we lost 5.25 million on him don't matter what way you look at it that's bad business

31 May 2018 17:27:28
You're right stuz we should throw away money we've not got on a player to sit in the stands because we're not getting what we want boohoo. In an ideal world yip I agree we should hold out for as much as we can and as much as the idea of someone rotting away maybe appeal to some folk I wouldn't want that to come at the cost of our club. imo and others on this thread take what we can get for a very poor player and use his wages elsewhere, but what do I know I'm certainly no rocket surgeon or brain scientist!

31 May 2018 23:57:50
We need to cut our losses with Pena. We either have him in our squad not playing and getting paid or we try and cut a deal with him to get him out. A costly mistake and no one is going to come in with a bid for him.

30 May 2018 21:52:45
Rumour I've heard is the mystery american backer is the Liverpool's owner's son. seemingly he's been given money by his father, John Henry, to bankroll Stevie while he cuts his teeth. Enough money to put Stevie on a level playing field.

31 May 2018 01:00:41
Before I say this, I’m glad we didn’t sign Skirtel, anybody wanting 60k a week to play in our league = no thanks. Especially at nearly 34.

But if he had plenty money from this guy backing him, would he not just pay the wages for the man he wanted?

31 May 2018 04:25:01
Highly unlikely 1 there’s no money to make in Scottish football. And 2 FFPR

31 May 2018 07:31:58
That’s up there with the best rubbish I’ve read on here

31 May 2018 09:25:33
I heard that rumour a few weeks back as well.
