They mentioned on BBC radio Scotland tonight that with us dropping in to the EUROPA cup play off round, we will be seeded and Celtic may drop out of the seedings due to this. Does anyone know if this is the case? Every cloud.
Believable20
Unbelievable19
More than likely we are way above them in the co-efficient been carrying them for years over to you MIKO/DAVIEBHOY/MIKEY
Agree0
Disagree0
We are defo seeded. Don't know or care about the manky mob.
Agree0
Disagree0
Nope it does not work like that, both teams are seeded
Agree0
Disagree0
It s on the bears website, we are seeded but can t face a team from the same country. Goodwillie now verhoek , we are dealing with players who should not be lost to middle EPL clubs . we seems to be dealing with transfers in the same manor the club was bought
Agree0
Disagree0
No, that's crap we have a chance of meeting tho, so Nevin said tonight? but he's full of keech too, so who knows?
Jay
Agree0
Disagree0
We should want all Scottish teams to do well in Europe, help the co-efficient.
Agree0
Disagree0
Of course we should it would take some of the pressure off Rangers having to constantly do it on there own and yes it does work like that but depends on who got through if there is only one seeded place left and it is between Rangers and Celtic Rangers would automatically get it
Agree0
Disagree0
I agree with the last post. Gloating over another Scottish teams failures is pathetic. Only by succeeding in Europe will Scottish teams ever increase the co-efficient and our credibility. I am a Rangers fan, and I am also a Scottish football fan.
Agree0
Disagree0
Ha every cloud, hilarious.

Agree0

Aye lads its good to hear. get behind hearts n celtic its the only way. i was happy to see celtic in uefa cup final but i was extatic to see them loose. the only way to improve our game is if we all get results. think that might be lost on some of the idiots in here.
Agree0
Disagree0
Rangers have a 56. something, and Celtic have a 39. something according to UEFA co efficients, but with 38 teams seeded and 38 non seeds, split into pots of 10 of 5 seeded and unseeded, they both will be seeded. its then the luck of who the unseeded teams are in your pot, could be hard, or easy
Agree0
Disagree0
Pat nevin is the most boring pundit on the telly how does he manage to get up in the morning
Agree0
Disagree0
One quetion how do you get 76 teams into 10 pots of 5 LOL its 4 of 10 and 3 of 12 hopefully noth teams are seeded but depends on 2morrs results
Agree0
Disagree0
BOTH SEEDSD AND ''CAN'T MEET''
Agree0
Disagree0
So you lost out on 15 million, had 2 guys sent off and 7 booked , have won 1 from 23 in europe, but your consolation is celtic might not be seeded for a competition neither of the teams want to play in, think i can see why scottish football is in so much trouble just from this one comment, fab1
Agree0
Disagree0
At least we have heard the champions league music at ibrox the last few years do celtic fans or players even remember what it sounds like you can just keep telling yourself wel be in it next year and maby if rangers do well enough in the europa league 2nd spot will get a champions league spot and u may finaly get bak in the champions league
Agree0
Disagree0
MABY?WTF is a maby. think you should stop listening to music and try some reading.fab1
Agree0
Disagree0
I did not want to see rangers go through because of the money involved , but i would like to see all 3 of scots teams go on a good europa run, if you get 15 millon it makes you stronger and as such gives my team less chance of winning the league.this is why all true celtic fans wanted you to get beat last night.fab1
Agree0
Disagree0
To the school wean who said that said the were both seeded could he give US all the results of 2nites matches he is right they cannot meet in group stages but only because 2 teams from same federation can not meet in the group stages
Agree0
Disagree0
See celtic do well in europe- no thanks it never happens anyway celtic are just bitter they dont have a stomach for a fight and bottle it- although weve lost a chance of the £15m celtic wont be getting any of it either if celtic pulled thier finger out in europe spl champs would go straight in the cl or is that the reason your s**te year in year out

If lafferty wants go to tell him il give him a run Hes had roughly 10 gd games in 3 years He is a of money and not worthy of wearing the blue jersey
Believable12
Unbelievable31
You are a fud how many goals did he score to win us the last 2 championships or are you Naismith in disguise
Agree0
Disagree0
Including scoring in the last day 3 years in a row when we have won the title despite being played out of position and not getting a run in the team - Lafferty has been missed
Agree0
Disagree0
I agree, lafferty is a diddy who only performs in a handful of games each season. he has done nothing in the old firm games and only performs the last 5-6 games each season
Agree0
Disagree0
When did he say he wants to go?
Agree0
Disagree0
Lafferty has come up with the goods when most needed and is badly missed in the team so cant understand the minority with the negativity towards someone who actually wants to pull the blue jersey of rangers on unlike 70% of the team who dont care.
Agree0
Disagree0
Clearly you do not have a clue about Rangers or Lafferty do you even watch football? He has scored crucial goals to help us win the title the last 3 seasons despite not getting a run in the team and being played out of position. He probably has the most passion and desire to wear a rangers jersey than most people at the club he has supported rangers all his life just like any 1 of us and we have sorely missed him in these 1st few games. If he was to leave it would be a blow to us that said I believe you cudnt be further wide of the mark not only do i believe he will definetely stay at rangers this season but i also think this will be his season to step up and be the star he deserves to be if u think he is a diddy then you are the mug he may do some silly things at times but he is young it is not his fault that a large amount of money was paid out for him but at the same time would we have 3 in a row without him? I think its time some of you part time fans and glory hunters take a long look at urself in the mirror as rangers fans. We may not have got off to the best start but this is a marathon not a sprint and we have all season to rectify the blunders and our priority whether you like it or not is to win the title as without that there is definatly no champions league. I thinks it time a lot of you grow up and realise that if we were all as narrow minded as you then who would support our club when times arent great its not the end of the world that we are out of the champions league so stop bein tits and get behind our team and our manager because rangers as a team will always prevail and never forget WATP
Agree0
Disagree0
Lafferty is a tampon - In for one week and out for three.
Agree0
Disagree0
Your a tampon ya begger
Agree0
Disagree0
Clearly you dont watch rangers very often cause lafferty is total liability. yes he scored a few crucial goals towards the end of the season but his overall contribution throughout the season is abysmal. when played in the right position he still flatters to deceive more often than not. burnley offered 1 million a couple of weeks ago, rangers should have accepted it, or done a swap deal with eagles before he signed for bolton. ur right mate he is tampon
Agree0
Disagree0
Are you a fan or a retard? Lafferty plays for the shirt and has had no more bad games than anyone else. You must also remember he gets played all over the shop but when he got a run through the middle he performed and scored title winning goals, PICK ON SOMEONE WHO DESERVES IT
Agree0
Disagree0
Whats happened when he has played through the middle against say celtic for example. u are one of these fikkle supporters who doesnt want anyone criticising your team. i pay good money to watch players like lafferty who simply dont offer value for money. take off ur blue tinted specs. lafferty like many at ibrox are very very average
Agree0
Disagree0
The whole bloody team is average, thats my point, theres no use in picking on 1 player. Our days of Laudrup, hately, mccoist wilkins de boer etc are long gone but i just think lafferty tries his best

Why would he do such a thing? Ally rates him highly He formed a good partnership with Jelavic at end of last season and contributed well in us winning league. I admit im no his biggest fan but he gives 100% and that is more than some give at the moment. i.e Edu, Whittaker, Bougie

I don't expect Ally to go anywhere, it would be a disgrace if he did get the bump.
Also Mark Hughes and Bob Bradley aren't what we need. Only two men I'd prefer over Ally and they are Butcher and Souness.
Id love to see Souness, never in million though.

Agree0

Its not Super Allys fault Its the same as Kaunas. They have not signed a couple of players needed in time. Give him time WATP
Agree0
Disagree0
Yes, because with our current American playing staff, the man who picks him at national level is exactly what we want...
Agree0
Disagree0
It's ok for all of you who sit on your ar$es playing football manager saying A.M. is not up to the job. Give him time, give Craig Whyte time, give Ortiz and Goian time to settle.
There has been HUGE change around Ibrox and it will take a while for people to get to grips with the running of the club - Hopefully soon the board will realise their mistakes in the transfer market (biddings, publicity, payment structures), Ally will come good when he has the board and the so-called fans behind him instead of blasting him at ever opportunity. Yes, Edu is poor, McCulloch is not the player he has been, Ortiz is playing out of position and heaven-forbid a striker misses a chance on goal...
Even when W.S. was manager, McCulloch and Edu were poor, will I mention Jerome Rothen? And don't forget Miller, Boyd, Prso, Laudrup, Gazza... All missed chances to score
Get a grip and SUPPORT THE TEAM
Agree0

Yous all are in fairly land ally stays given a chance , if he was given the money promised we would have better squad for the qualifiers , I've never seen so much trouble to sign players .

I going to take bit of flack for this
I give my full support to whyte and ally , ally as a new manager but thing hie has what it takes - his blood runs blue'r than any one else's
Whyte is new to owning a club and as such is learning too - transfers being a big part of it - he might not be doing things the way we would like but like ally I think he will come good - he just needs to find his feet
I see to many comments from back seat drivers ...... Call your self bears - look in mirror
Support your team , your manager and it's owner - they are new to this and need to settle in and adjust - good things will come sure of that

*WORRIED FAN*
Where do Rangers go from here? Tonight was an absolute disgrace, getting into this situation in the first place just shows what kind of mess our club is in. These kind of games should have been wrapped up after the first leg.
McCoist should have made signings as soon as he came in and made a real impact. We all knew that the SPL season began early and we had Champions League Qualifiers. Why didn't he get down to business as soon as Walter managed his last game. All the transfer saga with Goodwillie, Goians registration for Europe, the on/off move with Carlos Cuellar. All should have been sorted months ago
"Sign players now we have shown we are in trouble" I hear you say We couldn't sign Hemed, Conway, Miller etc etc when we still had Champions League football, know we're out, who the hell wants to play for us??
MY CLUB, YOUR CLUB, OUR CLUB ARE A LAUGHING STOCK
Believable39
Unbelievable14
The bottom line is, and some of my fellow gers fans may not like this. we simply do not have players who are good enough to be at rangers. outwith the keepers, jelavic and naismith there is absolutely no quality in the team at all. not only are we out of europe to a mediocre swedish team but i think the league title will also be gone. {Ed047's Note - Can you see me shake my head? You're the type that call yourselves suppoerters when we are being presented with a trophy, all other times it criticism and doom and gloom. You're right, I don't like it. Not a bit

Even with the players we had playing tonight we should have gone through. Whittaker and Bougherra are to blame for that. Whatever I think of these 2 players they let Rangers Football Club down tonight.

I have followed Rangers for over 40 years. Get a life. We are a Scottish club aqnd will always be limited because of where we are from. Our club has very little money compared to teams from larger countries.
We are simply in a bad place, but always remember WE ARE SIMPLY THE BEST. {Ed047's Note -

Right sack ally hes had 2 losses a win and a draw thats not good enought for us, rite you are mad vlad. get behind our manager and all the haters f*** off to the dark sides page ally will be the man to carry off where walt left off. remember its not ally s purse strings its the heirarchy dont forget that all you kiddy on blues .biggles {Ed047's Note -well said
Agree0

Ed you might not like it but i have supported rangers for 30 years and even if coisty is new to the job, the fact is that we should not be losing to a third rate team from sweden. i reiterate that we have many players who aren't fit to wear a rangers jersey. however to an extent i do sympothise with ally, its obvious that mr whyte is a bit of a tyte ar*e {Ed047's Note - 'I've been supporting Rangers for 30 years'? AND? You want a lollipop? You may not like THIS, son, I was supporting Rangers when your mammy was sitting her o'grades boy. I supported Rangers when Malmo WERE a third rate Swedish team. 'To an extent I sympathise with Ally' I'm sure Ally is grateful for your sympathy, but he'd prefer your support, SON.

Agree0

Can only reiterate what many good fans have said already, GET BEHIND THE TEAM While every Rangers fan is entitled to their own opinion; every rangers fan should be supporting the team
To dismiss Ally as useless and requiring replacement at such an early stage is ludicrous. Regardless of previous results anyone who can not see that his tactics tonight were well thought out is blind. If only 2 members of the team were more professional and level headed with the ability to control adrenaline then the result would most likely be very different. But asking "if only" and dwelling on what has happened will not provide any positive results.
SUPPORT ALLY SUPPORT THE TEAM

So Ed are you quite content giving cash to mr whyte now. coz iv been giving cash to the tsb for the last 2 year and not very happy i will never boo my team off the park just walk away in disgust , we did win 3 in a row and dogedly deserved imo.but performance wise we are not getting a good return on all of our season ticket money.just coz you have been going to ibrox longer than god doesent make you any more passionate about our club than the guy who has just started going to ibrox.dont expect people not to critisise when they put their cash(as tight as it is at this moment) into the club when the club promise new players and dont produce the goods

You can all go*uck yourselfs then. its not exactly the end of the fing world is it?. team gave there all game aginst swedish champions that are half way through there season our players are not sharp yet. why dont you thy geting behind ally how many good times did he give us as a player?. as for whittaker id drop that daft idiot in a heartbeat give broadfoot his chance at rb if i was one of the players id be discusted with him. new contract? drop him

That was almost the same team that romped home to the title and looked as if they could still play on for weeks when the season ended so whats happened in a few weeks? bougy looks as tho hes been wearing a sell me quick hat for the last 3 games wits got his contract sorted naisy needs new boots or more practice in front of goal jela was imo superb tonight even giving him his miskick, edu better than previous games, why do we look out of sorts? and btw the last i looked it says Rangers Footnall CLUB

Honestly cannot believe that we have folk on here calling for a CLUB LEGEND to resign. He gave us hudereds of goals in crucial situations and we can't even give him 5 professional games? man up, we are the people, we will get over it and do ourselves proud by the end of the season. M

These days your only as good as youre last game ... 4 games and 4 utter abismal displays ... legend as player yes no doubt , legend in making as manager, only time will tell but he needs just that TIME and backing 100% from all who love the club
Agree0

..I'm with you mate...no Allys fault ...players let us down tonight...and whoever is dealing with the transfers is doing us no favours either...just hope and pray that we have an owner who has the foresight to see WE NEED TO SIGN GOOD PLAYERS NOW...in order to win the league and gain automatic entry into the cl next year...fingers crossed loyal.

He was a legend as a player hopefully he will be as a manager but he has to sort out the indiscipline and he needs whyte to back him in the transfer market if this does not happen I fear the worse

Agree0

Just because he was a great player doesn't mean he deserves to be let off the hook, PLG won 9 French titles with Lyon and he got booted pronto, doesn't matter if he's a legend if he's not getting the results he will be sacked, I would have liked to had seen a proven manage take over and maybe keep ally as striker coach? Someone needs to phone Bursaspor and apologise to them and say we will pay them to take Whittaker It's evident bougy has wanted away for age so his lack of form/interest doesn't surprise me. Is ally the only one who can't see how terrible Whittaker is, cost us the goal against hearts, cost us the goal against malmo, cost us the 2nd game at malmo and now we stand to lose out on 15mil cos of it, dock that from his ludicrous 5 YEAR contract. Garbage
RP {Ed047's Note - I maintain we give McCoist a full season, unfair to call for his head now. As for that so called right-back, Bursaspor got a lucky escape there. I think we have to get a decent rb in, I'd much prefer Foster than whitaker. Maybe they'll do a swap
Agree0

Well said Sir Super must be given time. I must admit I havent seen too much to impress me so far, but 5 games?? Get real people He must come out and PUBLICALLY slate and fine that t**t Steven 'Forrest Gump' Whittaker, what a numpty, £25,000 a week? Give Bursaspor a ring and tell them they can have him.
Agree0
Disagree0
Being a legend of a player doesnt automatically give him the right to remain a manager who cant get the results needed. and before folk start saying its whytes fault, mccoist inherited the team smith left and might i add it was a title winning team.

Just thought Id start the ball rolling tonight with the nasty rumour it
wont be four in a row and I feel its going to be changes all round and whittacker will be the 1st one transfered out of ibrox hes just so stupid its unspeakable I got the impression that big madjid went off saying I always wanted to do that. now I have ally god bless him. I wonder if he will get the chance to learn from his mistakes Im not so sure about that either but we are out of the cl now and dont have
many decent players and we have 1 or 2 bargains and lee wallace is
the man Id say. To put things right we do need to sign quality players
and with obviously no money forthcoming that will be extremely
hard for us now many reputations going down by the day and in fact bears things aint wot they used to be..like the song says Time for a bit humility from the fans too.

Does anybody else think the boy daniel larsson would be a decent buy to play alongside jelavic plenty of pace, nice touch & can finish as we seen at ibrox. Would also be nice to see a larsson terrorise the tims for a change. Not that i don't think the jelavic & naismith partnership isn't working just that i believe we lose a lot of energy & the ability to make late runs into the box. Ps i believe mr whittaker is the main for to blame for the defeat over the two legs & if anybody was to come in with a decent offer i would say bye bye.
Agree0

Be a rangers 'supporter' or f*** off {Ed047's Note - I was hurting more than I've done in a long while because we never looked like going out. By far the better team in the first half and held our own in the second. Some terrible misses but it happens. Agree with refs decision for red cards but for the life of me I can't understand why he didn't red card the player for the boot at McCulloch and he only booked a player for a similar offence to Bougherras
Agree0

Somebody did.rangers didnt
Agree0

The ref could also have sent off naismith & mcculloch for that tackle. I have no problem with the players being fired up but they didn't half make it easy for the ref. That sort of stupidity can cost the manager his job who i'm behind 100 percent. Ally has identified the targets but whyte & smith haven't delivered
Agree0
Disagree0
I thought Ortiz was good tonight along with mo edu , if anyone is to blame it's Whittaker , he caused the goal at ibrox and blew any chance we had of qualifying with his school boy antics . I would personally transfer list him for that . We have just given him a 5 year deal on £20,000 per week and he cost us £15m tonight . Unforgivable , would he have done that if he had a year left on his contract ? I think not

Ally will not be sacked We were playing great 1st 15mins then Whittaker lost the plot and got a stupid red card. He should receive a large fine and apologise to fans publicly
We got the goal n we played out the half and were cheated when the ref ignored the blatant retaliation from there player on mc Cullough. We continued to do well after the break. They showed some true fighting spirit.
An bouggie done a stupid challenge that he didn't have to make Then we were stretched all over the park with guys outta position. The guy hamad hit a cracker from bout 20 yards but guys we bossed the game with 11 players and still with 10 but 9 was just too hard.

Rangers weren't unlucky Far from it. "Glasgow Rangers Football Club" are the most successful team in the world, there is no excuses for losing to teams like Malmo. Over two legs, we have been awful. No tempo, no shape, no desire. McCoist came in as Manager and said he'd change the football to more attacking, stylish play. I'm afraid with McCulloch and Edu in the centre of the pitch dictating things, there isn't much chance of that. Nevertheless, he hasn't really made any effort to change it. Naismith isn't a striker, simple To win this League and defend our title we should be beating sides like Malmo, whether its a European game or not. The players, McCoist, McDowell, Durrant and Craig Whyte included should hang there heads in shame. They have let us down big time. It's too late now to start bringing faces in, what kind of players will we sign? The kind willing to play for us without Champions League football. But back to your post, please explain how we were unlucky over two legs?
Agree0
Disagree0
WHY DID RANGERS MAKE 7 BIDS FOR GOODWILLIE, WHY WASNT THE SEVENTH BID THE FIRST BID AND HE WOULD HAVE BEEN A RANGERS PLAYER. {Ed047's Note - There should have been a few bids at most. It's called negotiation, start lower and build towards a middle ground, but I agree, 7 bids is poor
Agree0
Disagree0
We were never unlucky over 2 legs, wits and bougy both gave the ref the easiest red cards he will give all season. naismith misses far more than he connects with.club legend or not super ally knew exactly wot he was getting in to with this shady guy whyte, he was told all about him in advance.and before anyone starts i renewed my season ticket and my sons as soon as it got sent.i love rangers and i loved rangers when the "ledge" was the gaffer and when PLG was here, it still didnt stop my opinions when s**t hits the fan, and the s**t is hitting big time here.do we expect panic buys now as history shows is the norm after defeats like this, i hope not
Agree0

I don't believe dg is a 3m pound player. We put in a few lower bids and got Wallace for half the 3mill we were quoted. Dufc really were not prepared to negotiate at all. In the end they wanted him to go south as he won't play against them.

Why are we waiting on an injured 30yr old who left for "the bigger better league" yet failed? and dismissed Miller at 31 (without the dodgy knee) for doing the same thing? Surely Cuellar has no sell on fee either?
Desperately short in midfield....Edu McCulloch it's almost scary at times.
Need a midfielder urgently and another striker. Play Wallace in left mid oh and maybe Ortiz in his proper position? right mid then can possibly drop dumb and/or dumber.
Hopefully tonight goes well for the team and Ally. He deserves it Whyte isn't helping him at all.

Im sick saying this over and over he wont be back with the money involved and the wages etc I dont see whyte letting this happen as his age and condition (physical) are against him now and he seems to want more money than hes worth juhasz seems to be a far better bet if we can actually manage to put in a decent offer.

Celtic cant buy anyone...let alone pay thier wages...hmmm we have the biggest squad in spl, have the biggest wage budget, our major shareholder worth 750million safeguarding any debt we run up and keeping it under control unlike d.murray, we have already signed 3 players and desmond will always step in if we target a big name and they want to come, i.e the two keanes, bellamy in 2005/6) etc. Rangers have a new owner and only spent 1.5 million more than us despite having a "warchest" and needing far more players. why have celtic openly targeted a new keeper, cb, winger and cf.

Agree0

Grandstanding about player you have no chance of signing doesnt mean "openly targeting"
celtic dont even have the cash for a decent keeper, rooting around freebies trialists and loanees for your number 1 keeper position is indictative of the state celtic are in.
btw brush up on your business law, as major shareholder who wont push his personal holding above 29% DD has no vehicle to to invest any cash in celtic.
you cant just roll up and pile cash into a plc.
celtics wage bill was 36m, a whopping 59% of your turnover, then lenny signed 15 players, given you have finished 2nd in 2 horse race for 3 seasons thats hardly a proud boast.
your clubs long term debt sits at 15.8m, last july and set to increase.
mibbess you could get a kerrydale accountant to talk you through this.

I have to be honest and say that I am quite embarassed at how we have conducted ourselves in the tansfer market this season and can only hope that this is a smoke screen. I really do hope that we make some signings within the next week, otherwise we could be in big trouble. A creative midfielder and a left winger is a MUST for Rangers. Im happy we are getting good money for Bougherra as he only has a year left and to be honest he is not as good as he is made out to be. I am still beleieving that we will come good and that Mr Whyte has saved us from a financial mess. Any thoughts on targets Ed? Mine would be Murphy at Motherwell, Bartley at Arsenal, Andrew Driver at Hearts, Upson on a free and Eremenko. {Ed019's Note - ive always said I like Murphy. Great player. Would prefer him to Goodwillie. Im quite interested in this Arsenal striker Rhys Murphy aswell. He is meant to have impressed in the Hamilton game the other week. I reckon we will get Bedoya in before the window closes. Cant see us gettin Bartley or Eremenko...
Believable14

At the end of last season, it is rightly claimed we need more players, so firstly 3 loan players return to their clubs Bartley Weiss and Deuf (Healey resigns) then we buy Ortiz Wallace and Gian with Bougy just about to be sold, the realiity being that the squad numbers have not increased YET we are told the number of new players required to have a decent squad is about 6/7 just exactly what is happening at Ibrox?
Agree0
Disagree0
Yeah I totally agree but feel that we lack that competitive spark. No disrespect to Edu but his second touch is a tackle 9 times out of 10. The centre of the park is not very creative when Davis is farmed out on the RW. I still think that there is money to spend but McCoist has been told to spend it wisely, ie if he can penny pinch 500k etc from deals then that will help in the long run. Still shrt of backup quality and 4 or 5 signings needed at this moment in time {Ed019's Note - it is wise spending, which I am quite glad about. Dick Advocaat's shoppin frenzy plunged us into the financial dark ages. The squad we have got at the moment plus perhaps one or two more is more than sufficient to get four in a row. celtic are bottle merchants. the problem with this club is that were used to success and we demand success immediately. We have to realise that were not as powerful a club as we were in the nineties/early 2000's and it will take time, perhaps 4 or 5 seasons for ally and whyte to slowly build the clubs status back up and get competing in europe again.
Agree0
Disagree0
I think that there is something that the fans have to understand. It was never said that there was 15m to spend on transfers, it was quoted as 'playing squad'. Therefore the 3 new deals that McGregor Davis and Whittaker have signed total 17million approx. 3, 5 year deals at 20k a week. I am just like you concerned and we really need some strength in depth as if we were to lose Davis, Jelavic and Naismith to injury all at once, who would then come in to suffice? Fleck, Ortiz and Healy, I just don't think that they would cut the mustard in my opinion. {Ed019's Note - Aye, but if it wasnt for Whyte, we would be playin Fleck and healy first team. Davis, Jelavic and Naismith would have been sold to some diddy english team for peanuts to pelase the bankers. The man is putting money into the team and has cleared the debts. Think we need to give the new regime time and perhaps accept that in order to grow in the long run, we may not have success straight away.

We absolutely need a player who will run at people so someone like Driver or Templeton would be ideal as it looks like we are out of it for Dutch lad, Lafferty is the only guy we have who appears willing to go at people. Murphy would be a excellent signing, and lets see Ortiz on the right before we judge him. Agree Bedoya will be here soon but we know zilch about him, dont forget young Ness to come back and i think he will be a stand out. My number one choice would be Bartley, remember his first game in midfield? Just hope result tonight and then i am certain things will happen.

Must agree totaly, although with the young boy from arsenal waiting for a call up from The Republic of Ireland i fear it could all end in tears for him or us. Suggest he looks at Northern Ireland pdq

Why talk about the new deals for Davis, Whitty and Shagger ? They aren't given the whole contract in one lump sum. They were still on contracts with a year to go so the increase that they were given shouldn't be counted as a transfer budget.
They lost out on players that Ally wanted because the guy doesn't have the money to spend, Whyte was prob told by Gordon smith that CL qualification was a certainty and he could wait his time until that money rolled in (after all he did spend £3m to do up the stadium)

I think that maybe we are expecting so much from the new owner as we have had the past 4 or so years where we have not really done much in the transfer window. There is still 4 weeks of the transfer window left. I feel that depending upon tonights result it will shape the direction that we go in teh transfer market. If we get through tonight then i expect us to try and bring in some quality targets and improve our squad with players that can slot straight into first team action. If we fail the I dont think Whyte will be paying too much out and expect squad players to be signed on a free r cheap loan deals.
Agree0

We need to improve the team on the pitch with 1 or 2 players not 3 or 4 on the bench. Is ortise really good enough?

Comment above regarding arsenal kid you are after waiting for a ROI call up is just wrong. Why should the boy have to fear joining rangers and being a ROI international. Why should he look at NI, just to please rangers fans?, a club with history of anti catholic/ROI beliefs. For the lad to come and trial with you means he is interested why you so worried, would rangers fan not accept a ROI international. Celtic have welcomed many NI internationals and players with a rangers background why cant rangers be as open. {Ed019's Note - totally agree. although i think these days rangers football club and the majority of its supporters are very open to signing players regardless of religion, skin-colour, race or creed. and thats the way it should be.

Craig whyte saved us from the vultures all waiting to peck at rangers dead carcass & for that we should all be grateful. He never said he had 20m to invest first season. 5m a season so it's understandable that they are trying to make it go as far as possible. I'm glad the wreckless spending is gone. He is just trying to look after us as a club...it will take time. So chin up, be glad our great club is still here and get behind them. WATP.

Whyte said £15 million pure and simple, he, s been talking total garbage from the word go, Who say, s we will get the cash from selling bougy after tonight, our squad is weaker than it was at end of the season. Totally frustrated at what Whyte has done to the fans with regards promises. Our midfield is s**t apart from davis and i fear what might happen if we crash tonight
Agree0

The new contracts are an investment it means we dont loose good players for buttons. the 3m for stadium is an investment the stadium is a big asset and white is rumoured to be trying to lure big concerts to ibrox. in terms of new faces for the sqaud it seems a disaster. theres a story in the record today that states mccoist told white if we sign goodwillie bedoya the dutch lad and the hungarian that we would be ready for the start of the season.?
Agree0
Disagree0
We dont need to go mad with the need for players.Yes I would have liked Goodwillie as I still believe that Naismith is better getting into the box with a late run, rather than being an out and out striker. As others have said about the need for a left winger I dont agree. Wylde, Ortiz and Wallace will be good enough. We have Hutton and Ness who will do a job in Midfield and I like the look of Hemmings up front, just hope we give the younger players a good chance this year. If Bedoya gets in early and we can get another centre half then I think it will be good enough. Although we do lack pace and would like to see a pacey wide right player
Agree0
Disagree0
But we don, t have any of them yet and the season has started. Can, t see much joy with current squad. {Ed019's Note - the current squad is just last years championship winning squad, but with more players. how can you have no confidence in it?

ed any news on mariano pavone? i saw the rumour on here last week and looked at him on youtube, from his days in argentina he looks really good. But i was just wondering if we brought in another striker would he actually get a game? I think Naisy and Jelavic could be a really good partnership, plus with big lafferty to come back we'll be spoilt for choice. all we need is bartley, cuellar, eremenko, and a ball winner in midfield...joey barton(jumping on the bandwagon) 3-1 tonight, davis 1st goal. {Ed019's Note - Never heard anything concrete in the first place to suggest we were going to make a move for him. Dont think we would be able to meet pavone's or barton's demands.

What part of :we want 2million for DG does C Whyte not understand: If he had made the correct offer at the start at least we would have had the chance to speak to the player.

When we sell Bougy for the 3 Million the money we spent on Wallace/Ortiz/Gian will leave us with a profit Mr Whyte just exactly where are the transfer funds front loaded for this season, and more importantly the actual players?

Are peolpe on here not going to give craig whyte a chance, dg is not worth 2.8m plus sell on clause, du did not want to sell to another spl club and why would they, lets wait until the end of the window and look and see who weve signed then, whyte will come good and well land players of a good standard at the right price, there is no point in only looking at the near future we need our future secured for the long term watp lets pump malmo tonight and be positive bears
Agree0

Aye never mind goodwillie its not as if we have just lost out on baggio is it?. if we come good tonight and beat malmo i expect us to spend some money if we get put out then we will find out what whites all about. he has stated theres money there lets see as of yet its been a real mess.

Personaly a hink DG is worth more than 2.8, if celtic got 9 for mcgready then DG should be more than 2 mill they wanted. Whytes a lying tool, broken promises, caugh up d**khead or get out, the mans a joke the way hes delt with transfers
Agree0
Disagree0
Celtic got 9m for mcgeady because he is/was an established international, had performed in europe though only at home admittedly, there was huge interest at home and abroad. DG has one international cap, limited european experience which wont matter at Blackburn because they only might get to Europe through the fair play method. Interest in him was limited to three or four clubs. hence the difference in the sale price. Kean wont last the season at Blackburn

Well remember this if craig whyte walks out there is no glasgow rangers we are finished so unless the guy abv is about to tell us he can finance glasgow rangers then shut, up support your team and keep faith watp
