The striker that rangers are looking to bring in when the team return from the states is Danny ings, watch this space.

05 Jul 2016 23:50:19
Hope so! But hard to believe.

06 Jul 2016 09:36:47
danny ings again?
where r u hearing this from gergr581?
I can't see anything linking us with him and don't think we will get him he is on too much money.

06 Jul 2016 10:09:56
A friend who works within ibrox, season long loan deal with the option of permanent deal. He's not in klopps plans for next season.

06 Jul 2016 10:58:32
Can't see it he's on too much salary.

06 Jul 2016 13:50:35
Hes worth more than rangers football club as a whole, assetts and players combined.

05 Jul 2016 21:31:10
Just had a message from a usually very reliable source of mine fellow bears and he's assuring me the striker we're signing is will grigg, he says he's very confident and it will be hitting the newspapers very soon.

05 Jul 2016 21:43:30
I'd put money on that from what's been said on other forums too.

The Good Shape hint from both posters was interesting. No idea what that means but assuming we'll find out before the end of the week.

05 Jul 2016 21:49:25
W15, Hope you are correct with this one. The Bookies still have Hull City as favourites to sign and Celtic ahead of us. Think he would be a great signing and would almost complete our rebuilding for the new season.

05 Jul 2016 22:09:39
Grigg is valued at 2/ 3M out our budget.

05 Jul 2016 22:35:12
Rangers odds for Griggs have gone down to 8/ 1 though.

06 Jul 2016 03:29:50
Read FF thread on this was the good shape comment not meant as WE will in very good shape indeed if we sign this player? May have read it wrong as it is very late but that's how it came across to me. Can anyone confirm any further?

06 Jul 2016 07:28:38
Steven Fletcher. Scott McDonald. if the boy does sign I'll guarantee you guessed correctly unlike the other two you told us about!

06 Jul 2016 08:23:59
Don't you understand GMW how this works, I've explained the scott mcdonald one which I stated I didn't believe for a minute and the fletcher one came from someone else who said he knew his uncle, comprehend? This is a rumours page mate and the names we all hear on these pages most of the time never come to fruition, most of us only pass on here to other bears what we've heard, hope that explains it for you, contribute instead of berating my friend, it doesn't hurt honestly! Enjoy your day!

06 Jul 2016 09:16:26
Grigg odds gone from 8/ 1 to 7/ 4 overnight.

06 Jul 2016 10:12:49
Don't forget there were fans from the other mob placing bets on Zlatan joining at as little as 2/ 1. A price drop is just shrewd gamblers running money through the market to convince mugs there's something happening and part with their mug cash!

06 Jul 2016 10:55:18
I really hope we don't sign Will Grigg for any large sum of money, He didn't get a look in at the Euros.

Everyone thinks he's brilliant and he is a household name purely because of a song which has now well and truely run its course.

We are a football club not a record label I don't fancy us forking out £2m for a song, no thanks.

06 Jul 2016 10:10:00
Mcdonald and fletcher signed new contracts.

06 Jul 2016 13:52:05
7/ 4 still means unlikely.

05 Jul 2016 19:43:11
Freddy Adu.

Anyone remember this guy?

The young hotshot was meant to be a world beater and was courted by some glamorous clubs in world football has been brought forward to McParland's attention.

Whether he wants to check him out or not Adu is on the move again.

Talent, cheap, obscurity and age at only 27 make this an interesting rumour and a Magic Hat transfer tasty.

Rangers are in America and it's crazy season when agents BS is at full throttle.

I hope this isn't entertained at all.

Ranger will permanently sign a forward and use the loan option for a defender.

By the weekend we will have an another addition to squad 55.

05 Jul 2016 20:07:03
Hahaha Adu **** up.

05 Jul 2016 21:08:29
He retired a few years ago very very young and last we saw he was working as a pr for night clubs. NO THANKS!

05 Jul 2016 21:26:25
Much Adu about nothing. He say Adu I say I don't.

05 Jul 2016 22:02:55
. si. He is playing for Tamlaght Bay Rowdies not retired. I don't want him but if the hat wants him I will not doubt him.

06 Jul 2016 11:50:53
now parttime footballer and nightclub DJ, don't think so.

05 Jul 2016 19:05:51
Like I said last week bears I think our striker will be a loan with an option to sign.

05 Jul 2016 23:34:46
If it is a loan it would have to be someone very good as MW already has hardie and wouldn't sign someone at the same level on loan just to replace him.

06 Jul 2016 09:35:57
Well the chances of us buying someone very good isn't likely to happen, correct me if i'm wrong but we have a tight budget. As for hardie he's not played at top level so can't garuntee warbs will play him. He might even get shipped out on loan.

05 Jul 2016 19:18:34
Serge atakayi is heading to Glasgow to have trials with rangers 17 year plays in Finland an tip to be the hottest prospect about Finland the young lad is a winger check hin out on youtube does look like a right wee gem.

05 Jul 2016 19:27:01
Red on another site that the wee finn has signed a deal with the team he was at . don't know if this is true or not.

05 Jul 2016 19:32:45
I've seen he's going nowhere he's staying put pitty.

05 Jul 2016 20:09:13
You might find the lad from Finland and his club came to an agreement on another years contract so the club
will get money for him .

05 Jul 2016 20:29:59
Exactly, the contract extension is just to ensure that his club get a fee.

05 Jul 2016 15:34:08
Heard possibly Adel Taarabt being discussed? Decent in my opinion.

05 Jul 2016 15:47:15
He's a winger/ attacking midfielder.

05 Jul 2016 15:51:08
Nope. Next.

05 Jul 2016 15:57:22
Can't see it happening.

05 Jul 2016 16:01:44
he signed a 5 year deal this time last year, i doubt we could afford to buy out his remaining four years although i'd rather have him than a 35 year old Crouch!

05 Jul 2016 17:03:12
Not sure what the issue is with Crouch. he would give us another option up front and at 35 he could still show highly in our Sunday league standard PL.

05 Jul 2016 17:08:22
Not saying i think this is who it is but I've not seen his name mentioned.

Has anyone considered it could be Chamakh?

Just putting the name in the mixer not suggesting anything.

05 Jul 2016 17:52:18
Chamakh would be a good signing.

05 Jul 2016 18:37:50
Chamakh would be a terrible signing, just because it's Scottish football u think he would be good, no chance, he would look even worse.

05 Jul 2016 19:22:14
Anybody who thinks it's Adel Taarabt is deluded he typifies everything Warburton doesn't like. taarabt is an individual who is definitely not a team player or hard worker let's get real fellow fans.

05 Jul 2016 19:11:26
Would like Chamakh.

05 Jul 2016 19:47:42
Adel Taarabt of Benfica is put the pecking order and has been put in there B team playing in the Portuguese second tier.

No doubt his wages are high. I doubt this rumour but at the same time it's interesting.

05 Jul 2016 19:46:19
tarat is bone idle won't train or chase on park.

05 Jul 2016 20:11:56
Darren Bent?

05 Jul 2016 15:17:30
Been hearing a few rumours that Warbs is looking to table a bid of around 600k for Sam Winnall of Barnsley when the squad return from the US. 25 years old and has a year left on his contract. Thoughts?

05 Jul 2016 15:35:30
Forgot about winnall.

05 Jul 2016 16:42:15
He is certainly prolific enough, another option would be gregory from millwall.

05 Jul 2016 15:13:59
The ever reliable CWoodLoyal has posted on FF that he knows who the striker is, meant to be a cash deal and it has been confirmed it is not Vaughan.

He can't name names as he has been contacted by the club themselves to stop leaking information but it's supposed to be a big one!

Any ideas troops?

05 Jul 2016 15:31:52
Talk is about Crouch.

05 Jul 2016 15:41:39
You think we could afford crouch?

05 Jul 2016 15:52:33
robin van persie possibly.

05 Jul 2016 15:53:46
Why would we sign Crouch? He's well into his thirties and getting even less mobile and we put no balls in the box. We need a mobile CF at a better age and MW knows this!

05 Jul 2016 16:11:55
Crouchy is quite literally a big one.

05 Jul 2016 16:22:50
crouch? Please god no. We need a guy in his early to mid twenties who is hungry and looking for medals and someone who can learn from the likes of Miller. Not a guy who is 35 and won't have much hunger or desire to achieve anything other than pick up a wage. And the mention of RVP is hilarious. He is linked with a move to the EPL again so there is no chance. Personally I'd go for Cummings, not the most popular name on here but he fits the bill of what we require just needs to grow up a bit.

05 Jul 2016 16:34:08
Bobby zamora.

05 Jul 2016 16:45:16
Johnboy don't even joke about that😲.

05 Jul 2016 16:45:54
your seriously saying Cummings fits the bill tell me what has he done in the top flight of Scottish football?
if buying anyone from Scotland has to be adam rooney 19 goals last year with the sheep i'd take him and johnny hayes.

05 Jul 2016 16:56:31
Honestly don't get why cummings keeps getting dragged into it.

1. Lennon said he wants to keep him
2. Why would we deal with hibs after scott allan.
3. Why would we deal with hibs after the cup final.
4. He is not good enough.
5. He would cost 1-2m if hibs would even sell to us and i would much rather see that spent on someone better.

05 Jul 2016 17:25:25
Rotherham looking at Cummings.

05 Jul 2016 18:17:11
there are some good ideas for who could be the striker.

its not purely about the wage as the financial package can differ plus the team letting them go might contribute financially as well.

im thinking Ings or a long shot on andy carroll.

05 Jul 2016 18:39:16
Cummings not the answer!

05 Jul 2016 19:00:57
What have you been smoking Blueman72.

05 Jul 2016 19:09:29
Yes Cummings has not done anything to note but under the right manager he could achieve great things in the game. He's a far better option then crouch Zamora and any other daft names that have been mentioned.

05 Jul 2016 19:23:07
Warbartons holding out to get a good young striker on loan I think and hope . Specially with these names flying around. There must be better ones at spurs, arsenal etc.

05 Jul 2016 19:50:27
Would only sign Bobby Zamora if it was from 2006 champ man :)

06 Jul 2016 08:30:21
Out of all the striker names we're being linked to probably most of us would want liverpool striker danny ings which I truly don't think has any chance of happening, unfortunately however I truly think big peter crouch could do a job for us if his fitness is up to scratch, the big man uses his height well as he's good in the air, good with both feet on the deck, can hold the ball up and is a really good finisher, imo we would get 2 good years out of crouchy, thoughts please.

05 Jul 2016 15:10:58
Doing the rounds onTwitter that the striker is a cash deal and he is frustrated with lack of plating time last season. EPL player who has played at both Spurs and QPR. Crouch?

05 Jul 2016 15:35:14
Taarabt?

05 Jul 2016 15:54:35
He fat, rubbish and his attitude is even worse!

05 Jul 2016 16:03:05
Tarbert is a wide man.

05 Jul 2016 16:03:50
And rvp would demand a ridiculously huge wage.

05 Jul 2016 11:36:42
Apparently warbs is too make 3 more signings before the end of window, just hoping they are all players that will compete for first team place and not just back up players, anyone know anything else on Mariappa or Wells or Lafferty.

05 Jul 2016 12:49:44
Think if we go for the American there will only be one more signing which will and should be a striker and I don't think it will be any of the players you mention.

05 Jul 2016 13:31:55
I think they'll be 3 more in. The yank, a striker (probably a freebie like Vaughan) and another loan maybe a young winger from epl.

05 Jul 2016 17:09:36
Sorry JD90 when i said that i meant permanent signings.

05 Jul 2016 21:15:39
Ffs have I been transported to a parallel universe? Carroll and rvp being suggested on this page!

05 Jul 2016 11:24:24
Hearing that we have offered Finnish player Serge Atakay a trial and we could be forced to look elsewhere as Bradshaw has a 900k price tag and apparently we can't afford that.

05 Jul 2016 11:46:51
I'm pretty sure we can afford £900k. it's more a case of does MW want to spend it on him or any other player or does he see more value elsewhere but not spending on fees?

05 Jul 2016 12:54:43
People these days don't seem to realise managers "transfer budgets" include wages now, due to the number of clauses and bonuses involved in contracts.

MW probably has spent the best part of £5m so far signing players this window when all is said and done.

Hes went full out Football Manager and rifled through the bosman market and quite rightly so! i'd much rather someone with quality came in on a free on heftier wages than take a £2m gamble on someone that's had 1 good season as it seems so many people are crying out for.

05 Jul 2016 07:02:29
Any update on the chance of Greg Stewart coming? Hope Gers play this one patiently, the lad is a bluenose and a really hot prospect, our midfield seems sorted so we should sign him in Jan on pre-contract! Need to think about our finances and the future as someone else posted we did move on at least 8 younger players.

05 Jul 2016 08:23:02
there is not even anything linking us with greg stewart. we need better quality than him no dis-respect to the lad. it is okay to say about think about the future and the finances but we need to be back in the champions league or at least back in europe and players like greg stewart quite simply are not going to get us there. i would love to see vladamir weiss back and sonny aluko. also would like to see dave king give the manager at least 2 million to spend on a striker but that is not going to happen by the looks of it. so looks like we are going to be stuck with the attack we had from last season.

05 Jul 2016 08:34:27
Lets be honest here guys, we don't need greg stewart, we've got more than enough in the attacking midfield position, a centre half and a striker and that's it as far as I'm concerned, happy days!

05 Jul 2016 08:46:52
Greg Stewart is a striker.

05 Jul 2016 10:44:07
He is a striker but i agree with james reilly he's not good enough although i disagree we'll have the same strikeforce as the magic hat has said publicly that we're looking for a striker.

05 Jul 2016 11:36:42
hope we can get sum1 that will score 30 plus a season.

05 Jul 2016 11:52:14
Have been told that the Lafferty story is gathering pace inside the club. Source works for the club and is NOT a Lafferty fan at all. Nor is he a scandal monger.

05 Jul 2016 11:59:22
Greg Stewart would be a great addition. He is a quality striker. If you go watch his goals on YouTube you will see what a great player he is. In our team he would have more chances and definitely score more. But I still would rather Lafferty.

05 Jul 2016 12:22:44
Guys I thought you knew your football! Greg stewart most definitely is not an out and out striker, he's a 2nd striker if you like or in the no.10 position or even out wide.

05 Jul 2016 12:23:04
Lafferty coming back would make absolutely no sense.

05 Jul 2016 12:33:08
Elginhun. Anyone can be made to look good on YouTube mate.

05 Jul 2016 12:36:47
Filip sebo looked class on YouTube.

05 Jul 2016 12:46:12
Greg stewert is not a number 9 style striker, he often plays wide or as number 10. Also he is not a bluenose, i played with himt cowden and know he is an aberdeen supporter (not that i think what cluib these players support makes the slightest bit of a diffence) .
Greg stewert would be a very dceent signing! class player.

05 Jul 2016 12:47:04
Whats sebo upto nowadays? might as well throw his name in with some of the other hopeless wonders that get mentioned.

05 Jul 2016 01:01:38
Onyewu currently discussing contract opportunities with MW. Club are impressed with him - it'll be short term with an extension in contract.

05 Jul 2016 01:07:58
I hope he doesn't get a contract he's 34 years old and brings no value it's not like a maldini or a cannavaro over the hill with experience at top level lately.

05 Jul 2016 02:04:16
Bobby 72 get a grip what cause he 34 he adds no value! Mmmmmm david wier ring a bell kenny Miller? The guy was an american international has bags of experiance which is what we missed badly him and hill will do damage in scotland no problem. They will give leadership and pressense which we lacked badly last year. Am more than happy with him and if mw likes who can argue with that another free signing canny wack it now just a striker and selik are getting pumped off us lol 55 and counting!

05 Jul 2016 02:08:51
Can see Warbs offering the big American a 6 month contract, he looks solid and if anyone can get the best out a player its our Manager.

05 Jul 2016 06:02:44
Ironic you mention Maldini considering the guy played at the heart of defence for what team. AC Milan! The guys a monster! Great signing!

05 Jul 2016 06:25:05
Really do get a good feeling about this guy, he's played for some decent teams and now with him and Hill as our CB's Wilson and Kiernan can only develop and fight for the jersey. Can also see Warbs maybe rotating! Hill with Kiernan then Wilson with Onyewu, Hill and Wilson are both lefty's me thinks. All we need now are two out and out strikers and I think Warbs will hit the loan market for them instead of buying a player with the little money we have. Can't see too many strikers out of contract at the level we want and age is a bigger factor.

05 Jul 2016 06:38:56
We have a manager who has us playing the best football we have played in years, who brought in player that if we were honest we had never of heard of who amazed us all yet whenever he wants to look at or bring someone in people on here know better. Maybe we shouldn't offer him a new deal maybe we should get someone off of here. Trust the gaffer he is there for a reason.

05 Jul 2016 08:40:21
Sorry bobby72,totally disagree with you where onyewu is concerned, the guys have gave you more than enough other examples to chew over,34 years old is not extremely old for a centre half anyway, if his fitness is fine he'll have at least 3/ 4 good years left in him, this guy was a class act and our manager is brilliant at getting players back to what they were, too many people continually doubt on here.

05 Jul 2016 10:48:27
If the gaffer likes him that'll do for me. does anyone know What kind of deal six months with an option?

05 Jul 2016 11:33:19
Hasn't the guy got about 70 caps for the USA? I know they aren't the best but he's still someone they seen as a mainstay at international level.

He might not have played when at Milan but he obviously done something to earn that move.

As said above I really think Hill will partner Kiernan and this guy will partner Wilson to help both of them develop further their knowledge of the game, been proven in the past Wilson is a far better player with a solid experienced CB next to him.

05 Jul 2016 11:43:47
the guys will be the fittest guy in our squad bobby72 have u seen him he is a big solid defender with no body fat at all and if warbs wants him ill take him.
I was dubious at first till I researched him guy looks like he will do fine.

ANDY1872 I hope you are wrong with the rotating the defence its okay to do that with midfield we should be sticking with the best partnership in defence though so they know each others style of play.

05 Jul 2016 11:29:31
I understand where you're coming from warbs but this big American dude hasn't played much in 14 months I hope if we do sign him on a short term deal that I am proven wrong but I have my doubts.

05 Jul 2016 11:53:57
how old was Big Marv when he came?

05 Jul 2016 12:01:30
David Weir was 37 when he signed for us. was he over the hill ana? I'd take any CB to replace Wilson.

05 Jul 2016 12:28:51
Onyewu (if he signs) and hill will be the first choice partnership next season.

05 Jul 2016 17:05:46
M3LVO replying to your post . Kenny Miller played for Derby and made 30 appearances for them then signed with Rangers in 2008-2011 made 81 appearances. Then signed for Vancouver and made xxxx many appearances my point is onyewu hasn't played at top level since Charlton athletic back in 2015 he made 3 appearances for them . And at 34 now I believe he's a high risk especially with dembele and Roberts in the Celtic team can onyewu keep the legs ticking over? I don't doubt mark warburton or his signings but I think he should re consider this . And I'd like to highlight the fact I made in my earlier statement that onyewu HAS NOT PLAYED AT TOP LEVEL LATELY . I appreciate your views and comments .

05 Jul 2016 19:49:40
I like the look of this guy, got a good feeling also.

05 Jul 2016 00:12:16
Rangers are looking at taking Serge Atakayi on trial. He's a 17 year old winger who had a trial with Leicester and Fulham this season, looks like one for the future and most likely one for the reserves for at least a year or two. Also the American CB is looking likely to sign as DW spoke wonders of him saying he is getting on great.

05 Jul 2016 11:46:15
just an out and out striker then hopefully we get money for this one and can get the right guy in to make dembelle signing look less scary. and for those who doubt he will be a hit u need to watch that boy play he will go to the very top of the game.

05 Jul 2016 19:31:39
Is that American striker, Adu still in the frame? I think was his name.
