Hearing warburton is showing an interest in Bristol rovers out of contract striker Marty Taylor.

06 Jul 2016 19:24:26
Where you hear this?

06 Jul 2016 19:39:09
It´s just a hopeful, unsubstantiated post on the HITC. com website saying Rangers ´should´ make a move for him. There are absolutely no sources suggesting we are actually interested.

Would like us to go for him, seems a no-brainer, but this is just more mindless gossip.

06 Jul 2016 23:44:51
I would rather lyle Taylor from Wimbledon as he'd be cheap and I reckon he'd do a good job for us.

07 Jul 2016 02:15:28
Matty Taylor looks a player defo one for the future would take him everyday of the week over lyle Taylor.

07 Jul 2016 10:39:35
Matty Taylor and Lyle Taylor are the same age and at 26 he ain't one for the future.

07 Jul 2016 11:28:48
I know how old he is and is defo one for the future has his best years ahead has gone from strength to strength over last few seasons just because he is 26 doesn't mean he can't be a prospect bits on a free transfer if he has a good showing will be worth a few mil sell on.

07 Jul 2016 12:22:57
How are we settling for lyle tayler and some bristol rovers player we are building a team to win the league and get back to Europe champions league eventually these people are nowere near good enuff.

07 Jul 2016 18:16:06
Have you even watched them play? And as tired as I am of saying it but, where do you think Vardy, Forrester, Tavernier, Holt, Halliday all came from? From teams of similar levels if not worse, that's where.

Plenty of talent to be picked up from lower leagues in England that would improve our team and is better than what's in the SPL, just need to be bedded into a good team and given the opportunity to learn and improve.

06 Jul 2016 17:12:36
Russian mate at work just visited family and says there are strong links in Russia around rangers and ex locomotive Moscow striker Maksim Girgorjev looked him up and only 26 free agent and really quick.

06 Jul 2016 17:36:08
Winger and he hasn't had a cap since 2004 and only 4 in total.

Im calling BS on this one.

06 Jul 2016 18:13:20
Not what we need at this stage and I doubt he would get a work permit.

06 Jul 2016 17:02:52
Russian friend at work just visited family and told me about Russian press gossip with rangers and ex locomotive Moscow striker Maksim Girgorjev looked him up and only 26 free agent and really quick,

06 Jul 2016 09:14:45
Rangers now favourites to sign will grigg.

06 Jul 2016 11:19:42
Hopefully would be some addition. Said this from start of season think he would add something new to the squad.

06 Jul 2016 11:21:18
Celtic were 2/ 1 to sign Zlatan a few weeks back. Meaningless.

06 Jul 2016 11:37:21
They have no additional information that we don't. It's like market inflation the more people who bet on something happening it drives the odds down. It's not like the bookies have first hand information we don't in this day of social media.

06 Jul 2016 12:23:34
Why are people excited about us spending 1.5-3 million on a guy who couldn't get a game in the euros ahead of Lafferty, Washington, McGinn and Magennis?

I haven't seen much if any of the guy but I can't help but think he's not the answer and people are judging him with blinkers on due to the popularity of the chant.

06 Jul 2016 13:05:51
Totally agree Blue stu89.

06 Jul 2016 12:53:11
Am pure impatient this is killing me to think who the new striker could be.
heard lots of names crouch Bradshaw ings laferty n all the rest just glad warbs isn't so impatient as me.

the fact he's taking his time to me means this is his most important signing he will make this summer and since he took over just hope he bangs in 30 plus because there be goals from everywhere else in the team.

06 Jul 2016 12:56:03
I would think that grigg has much more potential than any of the 4 mentioned, some managers will stick with experience and the men who got him there on the first place.

06 Jul 2016 13:42:52
None of those mentioned have any chance of signing, they are all out of our price range. I think the reason it is taking longer is that we can't get any good strikers on the cheap.

06 Jul 2016 14:06:14
the reason is simple peeps the window has not long opened and we have 8 new signings that is a lot of business now warbs has his men in training in America I think everything is on hold till he comes back.

06 Jul 2016 14:12:20
Will Gregg has a good scoring record at a quite low level, but he's young and could go on to be some player. The reason he got the song in the first place was because he was 'on fire'. I would rather him than Bradshaw, Lafferty etc. At the moment though these are all just theories, nothing else as the management have mentioned not 1 striker, as is their way.
I'm still holding out for a better standard than what's being mentioned, as to be fair after we signed Crooks and Windass ( with some people scoffing at their former Club Accringtons standard) every signing has been above what I expected. I think the Striker could be Mcparlands ace up the sleeve.

06 Jul 2016 14:17:57
Difference is blu_stu89 grigg is an out n out goalscorer Ni played with one up top which wouldn't suit him at all but with the amount of chances we create I think he'd be a cracking signing.

06 Jul 2016 14:37:56
He never got a game at the euros because NI Played with one striker n that diddy lafferty runs about more. Only reason magennis and washington were on was physicality. mcginn plays mf for NI.

06 Jul 2016 16:19:00
Yeah ditto humey mate!

06 Jul 2016 16:30:55
James Stirling, your probably right the singing will take place when team is back but it's just that mark W said it was this week he wanted a striker, in saying that it could happen at weekend.

I think mark and Davie like to be there when the big fish arrive like Niko and Joey, remember mark is an ex stockbroker, I'm in the same line of work myself, being a broker means he'll be one hell of a salesman and could sell Rangers quite easily.

06 Jul 2016 18:04:35
I'm call bull on this one, probably for the best as he is on fire anyway.

06 Jul 2016 19:18:50
Just read hull are favourites.

06 Jul 2016 19:33:16
The reason I would take him b4 the others is simple, the guy has the Knick of being in the right place at the right time, and at 24, still loads of time to improve as a player. Doesn't score many headers which is my only concern, but the way we play, it might not concern warburton too much.

06 Jul 2016 19:48:15
Will Grigg is staying at Wigan in the championship fullstop.

06 Jul 2016 19:42:02
I don't know what all the hype about will Griggs is go and look at his goal scoring record it's quite poor.

06 Jul 2016 22:43:57
SPFL are terrified!

06 Jul 2016 22:44:06
the other side are terrified.

07 Jul 2016 10:36:29
I don't think we will out bid anyone in ENGLAND they can all afford 3 million without blinking we can't challenge them in that sense only hope we have is if he comes to talk to warbs like jay said he will be a great salesman not that you really need to sell rangers ibrox and auchenhowie sell rangers themselves.

06 Jul 2016 09:30:19
THE Ibrox chairman has reassured fans that he will have sorted out the club’s retail operations and, in particular, replica kits by the weekend ‘at the latest’.

Any rumours as to what this "deal" may be?

06 Jul 2016 09:59:29
Don't think he said he would have sorted it Scotloyal, I think he meant he would give us an update on what was going on. Given the history, I think we could be waiting for this to be sorted for a while yet.

06 Jul 2016 11:04:29
What king did say regarding the replica kit deal is that the landscape has moved which does suggest its changed in some way to what it was, good or bad I don't know, we'll all have to wait and hear king's statement before this weekend.

06 Jul 2016 13:37:15
Does anyone agree that lafferty is beyond honking and his record is terrible? Sick of seeing rumours about him on here;

(goals scored)
2005–2008 Burnley 83 (10)
2006 → Darlington (loan) 9 (3)
2008–2012 Rangers 104 (31)
2012–2013 Sion 25 (5)
2013–2014 Palermo 34 (11)
2014– Norwich City 19 (1)
2015 → Çaykur Rizespor (loan) 14 (2)
2016 → Birmingham City (loan) 6 (1)

06 Jul 2016 14:09:11
said it all along he is beyond pish and runs about like a doo wi nae heed!
if we get him i'm giving my season ticket back he walked away don't let him walk back tell him to keep walking.

07 Jul 2016 09:19:20
I agree mate. He is shockingly bad and not the answer. I really don't understand why people would want him back at Ibrox as his goalscoring records and the amount of clubs he's played for speaks for itself. But each to their own I suppose. Whoever is brought in, I will trust Warbs judgement as he's the expert after all.

07 Jul 2016 09:47:40
Yeah okay let's look at Martyn Waghorn's stats?

2007–2010

2014
→ Wigan Athletic (loan) 9 (3)

2014–2015

Lets look at Kenny Miller's stats?

1998–2000
Hibernian 45 (12)

1998–1999
→ Stenhousemuir (loan) 11 (8)

2000–2001
Rangers 30 (8)

2014–
Rangers 59 (21)

Aye let's ditch them as well, stats are shocking for them!

07 Jul 2016 11:00:22
TBB, let's consider how much we spent on Lafferty a few years back. Millions is the answer mate, compare that with what we paid for Miller and Waghorn and I know who I'd rather have. In my opinion he never justified his price tag with his poor goal return coupled with his stupid antics. Forgetting his goal return for a minute, and considering his other so called playing strengths, do you think that he was a good buy for the amount paid? I know he's older now and hopefully wiser but he's not for me mate. But like I said above, that's only my opinion.

07 Jul 2016 15:56:33
theblueblazer its not just about stats the guy is honky-tonk.
waggy had a blinder of a season there and in my opinion is ten times better than lafferty!
and I want sum1 better than waggy to come in so that shows you how far off signing lafferty would be to make rangers a better club not a worse one.

I repeat lafferty is not the answer and not just on stats because he is pish and runs about like a dafty I know wee guys at 14 in drumchapel that's a better option than him!
(can u tell I don't rate him) lol.

06 Jul 2016 02:16:13
i have heard from a friend of a friend that the striker we are looking at is steven naismith.

06 Jul 2016 05:41:49
What is the cost? 30 pieces of silver!

06 Jul 2016 06:26:27
Bloody hope not. Naismith is not welcome. Don't care if people say let the past be in the past, I'll never forget that press conference with him and Whittaker. Both players made a lot of money from Rangers and both spent their fair share of time in the treatment room.

I hope it's will Grigg. People say he is about 2-3 million? Well who says we don't have that amount of money for one marquee signing, we have got rid of a lot of the deadwood and freed up wages and all our dealings have been freebies with exception of a small fee for Rossiter. Maybe DK is about to put his money where his mouth is.

06 Jul 2016 08:16:09
Just like lafferty I don't want that wee deserter naismith who like lafferty professes to love rangers (my a**e) anywhere near rangers they are not welcome with the majority of us who go to see glasgow rangers, we don't want or need their sort at rangers, funny how when everything is again beginning to look rosey for us they want to come back like galloping white knights, like wee nacho novo said to the eastenders 'NO THANKS'! that's me being polite.

06 Jul 2016 08:49:47
Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't DK giving Rangers £3million for a player be taxable? so wouldn't he have to give us £5-6million purely to get 1 player? Waste of money in my eyes. i'd rather Warbs done his usual and pick up a cheap signing that turns class (Andre gray) type of player.

06 Jul 2016 09:25:25
total rubbish, he went to Norwich for 6 million only 6 months ago and will be a first team player for them next year in the championship.

06 Jul 2016 09:35:06
why would u want will grigg (because of his song) naw I don't want laffertys understudy!
I wouldn't call him a marquee signing either just because they want fe million for him could easily get better quality than that for a couple of mill!

06 Jul 2016 10:02:09
never saw much of will grigg last season, but anybody that can't get on the pitch before josh magennis can't be that good.

06 Jul 2016 10:18:16
I am sick of people jumping on the back of the players that left even after the court case etc, why would anyone stay to line the pockets of people that were out to line there pockets, did you all forget that these players took massive pay cuts to try and save the club?

06 Jul 2016 05:54:13
He can poke it. he never welcome again him or whittaker.

06 Jul 2016 09:41:00
there is no chance of naismith returning due to the costs involved and i for one would not want him he was the leader of the pack that jumped ship he should not even be allowed into watch a game never mind play in one.

06 Jul 2016 11:13:39
Lummy you like many just don't seem to grasp what we're meaning here, its the way they done it and went about it, nobody was grudging them a move away from us but they could have stayed a bit and got us money, lafferty wanting to take our CLUB to court and naismith a guy we paid twice for all his serious injuries jumping and couldn't wait to get out as quick as, not for me mate, you try and hurt the glasgow rangers like the way they did then your not welcome, they made their bed so they can GTF, we don't want or need them!

06 Jul 2016 13:11:42
This is a professional game, a business, with winning meaning everything. that means you get the best you can get, not twitter on about Your Glasgow Rangers.

if naisy came and won us the league we would all be delighted, he was young, and badly advised, as well as shellshocked like the rest of us, he knew more of what was going on than any pious poster on here, so try to remember when you were young, and the rubbish that came out of your mouth, still does in some, ? We would be very lucky to get Naismith back, and i strongly want greegs back too.

06 Jul 2016 13:17:19
James Stirling. Just a couple of points mate.

I don't want to sign will Grigg because of his song. I think he would fit ideally into our system and he scored a barrel load last season

Lafferty was first choice for NI because they play one up top and that is suited to his strengths plus live him or hate him his goals got NI to the euros and he deserved his chance.

Any player we sign at 2-3 mill will be a marquee signing for us.

And last of all mate. Give me your opinion who we should sign, seeing how you were quick enough to skate Grigg. Let me know who you think we should sign and not some respouted name that's been mentioned a hundred times in here.

06 Jul 2016 13:49:45
When i hear all of this nonsense with regards former players deserting us it always makes me laugh. It is just a game played by professionals and nothing more. Its a business where for everyone except the fans it is done to make money. The rivalry is fake, the loyalty is fake the only people who fail to grasp this is the fans who want more from it.

06 Jul 2016 14:28:49
well jim jam I have stated I don't want laffetry because he is terrible and will grigg scored all those goals in englands 3rd tier and making a 3 million pund bid for a player who isn't proven at a higher level is too much of a risk!
I don't need to name names that haven't been mentioned on here before because u said so I actually agree with a couple one here and have stated we should be singing proven players.

I know league 1 in Scotland is maybe better than the spl buty its not better than rangers ar selik and we are the only two teams worth a mention up here.

If we get will griggs I hope he proves me wrong and scores hunners of goals.

06 Jul 2016 15:57:22
I cannot comment on Griggs since I haven't seen him play however I will take anyone except Lafferty. Not because of him leaving and the way he did it but rather because I personally don't rate him either as a quality striker or as an individual.

I keep hearing that he has grown up, but I just wouldn't take the risk and don't want the sort of front page headlines that he brought the last time we had him at Ibrox.

As for Naismith it just isn't going to happen. He is a good player but the way he left and the comments he made left a bad taste. I was surprised when Everton let him go but if the best he can do is Norwich then perhaps he isn't as good as i thought he was!

If we are going to spend serious money on a striker I would have hoped that we might have picked up a new Marco Negri from the lower Italian Leagues or similar however I will be happy with whoever Warburton brings in, but please, not Lafferty!

06 Jul 2016 18:09:38
no more money to spend so forget about 2-3 million on a striker . Only money spent so far was on money freed up on wages for new players. Dave King has not put a single dime in yet, and he spouts about 30 million to spend.

06 Jul 2016 18:32:31
TomTom12 yeah he could have stay n got us some money but it all would have went in whytes pocket anyway may these, s guys new something we didn't eg how big a crook he actually was and got out asoon they could. Everyone goes on on about Davis at Southampton but didn't he jump ship just as quick as the rest yes he got us some money but did we actually see any of it? .

07 Jul 2016 10:34:16
Snowbaw, you couldn't have put it any better. mate, the boys knew their money was going straight into green or Whyte account, some people simply can't understand that, some think these boys stabbed Rangers in the back? It was the exact opposite.
Tommy.

07 Jul 2016 16:04:56
look I don't like the fact they left us in the dung, but I do understand they are top level players who have worked all their life to play at a standard of football which rangers wouldn't be playing anymore. and the main guys that left where in their prime they didn't want to spend their best years in the lower devisions getting paid penuts and wondering if their club will exist month after month, so I do understand! i'd take naisy back in a heart beat thought he was exelent for evewrton everytime he played!
