Rangers rubbish any interest in Steve mcClaren. thank the sweet baby Jesus for that.

06 Nov 2017 15:34:07
This would be a very disappointing move from Rangers, all the fans are screaming to go and get the manager they want. Its not McLaren, he is a great coach. but that is it. He can't change the game, not good a reading and adapting the situation. much like Caxhina. So I feel it would be a like for like. we need McInnes!

06 Nov 2017 18:53:18
All the fans want McInness cammy1234? Absolutely not. He's an average manager and I don't want him anywhere near our club. I'm not the only one! Anyone but McInness for me. Celtic made a huge statement of intent with the Rodgers appointment. McInness would be our statement of intent: Second place mediocrity.

06 Nov 2017 19:18:43
McInnes is probably the market we’re in. I think he’s a very good manager and would be delighted with him. Just because he hasn’t been able to compete with Celtic doesn’t make him a bad manager. I’m a bit young so don’t remember but were all the fans delighted when Smith took over from Souness. Could be worse we could end up with McLeish

06 Nov 2017 22:31:33
I cringe when people say " McInnes terrific job at Aberdeen". an ok job I would say.

07 Nov 2017 07:45:26
Like it or not Aberdeen are better than us, At the moment. So I would say he has done a good job!

07 Nov 2017 08:10:09
Big Eck couldn't beat Selik and took Hivs down before bringing them back up. he then came to us and won 7 trophies in 4yr, a treble and last 16 of CL against a great Selik side and i think Mcinnes is a better manager than what Mcleish was back then

07 Nov 2017 11:03:22
Eck couldn't beat Celtic? Good grief! Won 7/ 8 trophies as Gers manager without Advocaat's millions. And 2 helicopter Sundays. Has everyone forgotten about this? Won a cup in England while Bristol City couldn't wait to get rid of McInnes. And was a successful Scotland boss. I think he and Murty could knock this lot into shape, no problem

07 Nov 2017 11:30:18
@Theseeker
I'm pretty sure he meant he couldn't beat Celtic whilst he was manager of His.

07 Nov 2017 13:18:31
before mcinnes took over aberdeen they where struggling to stay in the top 6 so i wouldn't say he has done an ok job when the fact is he has been brilliant for them and got them in a stronger position than they have been for years.
he has done that with basically no money.

i believe he could make a name for himself here and our next manager should have experience in scottish football.
he will have a bigger budget here with us and have more success.

alll the fans that say no to him have never came up with a better option that's realistic.

all the other names we have been linked with are not good enough pardew -nope
mclaren-nope
moyes- thank god no
preuddhomme- another risk that doesn't know our game.
so who else do u lot want?
dont say eck as that's not even funny

07 Nov 2017 15:16:09
Aberdeen were struggling before McInnes. correct. The reason . they had a clueless manager called Mark Mcghee and then an old coffin dodger called Craig Brown.
DMc has done nothing special at Aberdeen.

07 Nov 2017 15:23:21
Who do you think it should be goramsgloves?

07 Nov 2017 15:32:23
Graham Potter a guy who we will be hearing a lot more of in months/ years ahead.
A guy who has managed to take his team to EL group stages unlike wonder boy McInnes

07 Nov 2017 15:34:05
Sorry guys, picked that up all wrong! Should have gone to Specsavers

07 Nov 2017 23:43:56
From the foregoing rumours it is abundantly clear that we seem to be in a bit of a quandary re the selection of a new manager. And why not? This is a huge crisis! We are all aware that we can not afford one more faux pas in the selection of our next manager. Even though the majority seem to be tending towards the present Aberdeen incumbent I get the feeling (by reading the many diverse opinions on this forum) that there are many who feel that he is not the man to solve our present problem.

So fellow fans just spare a thought for our board of directors who have to make a decision on this matter (and having already made two previous decisions that have back fired on them). Do you think they are not aware of the various opinion's of the fans? What if you were in their shoe's, Could you make that decision, and would you get it right?

I have been very highly impressed by Mutry on his handling of this situation, his almost eloquent interviews and his man management tactics are a joy to behold.
Here we go then, I am an Eighty year old Rangers fan who fervently hopes that I live to see the day when we have a team that will stop TEN IN A ROW. Please those of you that have the responsibility of selecting our next manager take your time and get the right man .

Now all of you fellow fans I too must surely have a choice. well, why not
I will go for - Mr WHO with Mutry as his second in command
Stick together lads and keep your heads high

08 Nov 2017 12:04:02
Its not just failing to beat Celtic, how many attempts has he had to get into the Europa league and failed miserably against opposition not much better than Progres?

08 Nov 2017 12:20:51
Totally agree Goramsgloves.

08 Nov 2017 12:35:24
Cheers only a game 👍 Sorry Seeker, should have worded that better

08 Nov 2017 13:14:04
seriously guys so with your method of thinking; a manager that comes from say crystal palace who hasn't won the league gets the job with a much much much bigger club (lets say man city for talking sake) that can attract a better quality of player and have much more money than crystal palace does this mean that said manager wouldn't be able to win anything with the bigger club?

honestly you guys can bee quite thick at times.

he made aberdeen better than they where and will do the same for us which is what we need at this moment in time.
who would u rather please don't tell me bick eck because he came into a brilliant team and left with a team finishing third not the answer guys

09 Nov 2017 08:46:54
peds11, not only is your post stupid, crass and insulting to the vast majority of fans who don't want your love fantasy as Rangers manager, you damned your own man with it. 'He made Aberdeen better' seems to be your one and only reason for giving this nonentity of a manager the biggest job in Scottish football - a job which will require him to show a measure of success over the next 3-4 years as that's where we expect a third of our income to come from.

As for McLeish, you've chosen a single candidate who has very little backing amongst the fans to try to deflect from your nonsense that Derek McInnes 'will do the same for us' with absolutely nothing to back that up. A failure in Englands third tier, an abject failure in Europe, and you see him as our saviour because he made the sheep shaggers a wee bit better. Aye right.

06 Nov 2017 09:25:14
Sky Sports News - Rangers approach Steve McLaren. McLaren interested in speaking to Rangers. Not who I want. Would rather Murty until end of the season.

06 Nov 2017 10:22:41
i want DM in or murty i don't want mclaren i think he would ruin us

06 Nov 2017 12:22:46
Please no to McLaren

06 Nov 2017 12:35:31
McLaren did manage Twente Enschede to their first ever Dutch league title in 2009 but I'm not sure if he would be right for us. His profile is certainly as big as Brenda's though

06 Nov 2017 13:07:03
if steve mclaren gets the job i predict i will not renew my season ticket he’s an older version of ian cathro great on the training pitch absolute diddy manager if this is the road the board go down my faith in them will be put to the test also, none of the candidates totally excite but mcinnes is the stand out in that group

06 Nov 2017 15:23:21
Would rather have Moyes than Mclaren but hoping for Mcinnes if we are going for an English manager big Sam would be a good shout

06 Nov 2017 15:31:20
Get Bilic in!

06 Nov 2017 15:36:37
Poor move, McLaren is just another Caxhina. Coach not a manager. We need structure and someone who is able to change the game with subs not just use them for the sake of using them

07 Nov 2017 02:00:18
I hope the board read these pages, I have said it until I'm blue in the face, if we don't get mcinnes then I guarentee we will regret it. Mclaren is a joke and if these stories are true then its really bad news.

07 Nov 2017 16:17:51
Bilic another dud manager.
Has he not been sacked in his last 3 jobs now?

07 Nov 2017 16:48:39
McLeish lol . we were shouting for him to leave 11 years ago .
Worst run of results in our glorious history.
Forever thankful for his title winning achievements .

06 Nov 2017 09:04:15
Anyone think Moh will be back in the mix in Jan now that Pedro is away? Candeias all day over Moh but maybe he could do a job on the left, or even another option up front?

06 Nov 2017 09:34:47
No thanks didn't have the professionalism to show up for under 20s match! Besides the point that of being gash

06 Nov 2017 10:24:11
i think he could still do a job for us but not before candias but would be good back up to have

06 Nov 2017 10:33:12
Apart from his first couple games when he scored, what else has he done to deserve a recall?
A bit like all the other superstars when they left

06 Nov 2017 10:34:51
MOH should not play for us. No offence to him. It's just with his pace he is better against a defence who play a high line. As SPL teams all play deep with 11 men behind the ball against us then he becomes useless to us.

06 Nov 2017 12:36:05
He is not good enough and has had plenty of chances before anyone says different. Brutal.

06 Nov 2017 13:43:58
WHO DO WE HAVE AS BAC UP FOR OUR WINGER THOUGH? .

honestly the guy could come in handy in an old firm when celtic leave space because they will get cocky

06 Nov 2017 15:51:24
Peds, just because we are short at present does not mean we should try and fit him in. Are we not better trying to get someone else in? Meanwhile use Nemane or Atakayi.

06 Nov 2017 08:22:13
If it's a choice between McInnes and McClaren - then its an absolute no brainer.

Mcinness every day of the week. Why risk bringing in a washed out manager who is a well renowned joke figure across world football?

Has to be McInness.

06 Nov 2017 09:09:54
Totally with you here, JorgeTheHammer! Steve mcClaren is outdated and a dinosaur in the manager/ coaching world of football! Would be a disastrous appointment! What's our board thinking of?

06 Nov 2017 10:25:30
yes but allen will prefer and engish manager over mcinnes and that's what scares me if they bring in the washed out mclaren then we may be finnished as a club

05 Nov 2017 21:43:25
Anyone else think Steve mclaren is to much of a drip to handle the pressure of managing us? I do.

06 Nov 2017 02:05:48
I think it’s game over if we get McLaren. Surely the board have learned their lesson with the friend of a friend act.

06 Nov 2017 10:26:07
no chance do we want him he is not a winner

07 Nov 2017 02:13:21
McInnes isn't a winner though
