what about the falkirk striker dont remember his name scored against us in the league cup last season think he'd do a good job for us and his wages wouldn't be much. Sure he was scoring for fun in div 1 last year. {Ed039's Note - Farid El Alagai signed for Brentford)

Believable3 Unbelievable23

Cheers ed couldn't remember his name thats a pity thought he could have done a job for us

Agree2 Disagree1

Went to a bigger club though

Agree3 Disagree4

Aye mate, I was wondering about him aswell. Brentford? He could do better.
Dtp89

Agree2 Disagree0

Rudi Skacel would be a fantastic signing !!

Believable75 Unbelievable36

Would be a good buy in normal circumstances, but, at say 5k per week as the rest of the signings thats 1m over 4 years...who is paying for this gamble?

I understand the ban coming up will cover possibly 2 seasons but surely we have youngsters in Murray Park that can carry us through to the first division with a few old heads to guide them, if not then why not? and if not then they are not good enough for the Rangers....once we get to the 1st Division then by all means get the players to take us back to the SPL, but by then we might have unearthed a few gems from murray park and so will not need to spend as much on journeymen....

Bill

Agree2 Disagree0

Rooney or messi wid be better........................sad very sad ................seamus ...........

Agree0 Disagree5

Him and sandaza up top would be a dream come true

Agree1 Disagree0

Skacel wouldn't have came even if we were in the SPL

Agree0 Disagree1

Forget rooney or messi...emile heskey would do the job!!...lol

BILLIONAIRE Mike Ashley is in advanced talks with Rangers chief executive Charles Green about buying a stake of up to 10% in the club and forming a joint venture to sell its replica kit through his Sports Direct stores.

Its says 10% would be chump change for ashley, maybe we should ask if he want to rename ibrox as well lol.

Believable70 Unbelievable63

He might want us as a feeder club or hope to nick our best talent for Newcastle. So I won't be getting excited just yet.

Blueice

Agree2 Disagree2

Billionaire? again?

Agree1 Disagree1

So we are selling the future rights to sell replica shirts away to Sports Direct. This sounds like a familiar path we're heading down if this rumour is to be believed.

Agree1 Disagree3

What a load of bull why would he want a 10 percent share in rangers who in there right mind would trust charles green with any sort of money so put this story to bed right now

Agree1 Disagree9

I also heard this rumour on my club bus on the way to the game last night.

Agree2 Disagree0

New name for stadium and club would be bad news. Why is he wanting to invest in another team, he wanted rid of Newcastle not so long ago....

Agree2 Disagree0

Does he come from Motherwell originally ..... ? just askin like ..........!

Agree4 Disagree0

Oh dear here we go again!
Billionaires. Off the radar from USA, Russia, middle east emirs, Singapore...... Nobody was daft enough.

Agree0 Disagree2

Why is every rumour shot down in flames on here? Newcastle have improved dramtically over the past 18 months under Ashley. He has money and we dont have much. He wouldnt just take all the cash for strips, he would help sell the strips and ultimately bring the club more money. That is the aim of investment after all.
Overdose15

Agree7 Disagree1

Just on ssn graeme

Agree3 Disagree0

Rite seems to me that the bitter ones just hate the fact we r alive and kicking enjoying ourselves in our new surroundings:-) and not dead as they so hoped for.you just have to look at the posts on here and everyone has more bitter replys from the dark side than Gers fans replying to it. Why would Ashley not invest?we have no debt, not a big outlay on wages, the potential to win trebles for the next few years at least plus all manner of income revenues back within the clubs control so get over it and enjoy the sp hell with your wash out saturdays. what a joke 48000 for tainted flag day?poor show from the so called "greatest fans in the world" and 3000 of them were away support. WATP then now and forever

Agree7 Disagree0

Oh i mike ashley he loaned his money to newcastle now they owe him a fortune

Agree0 Disagree2

SevGers have no debt?

Last I knew the club had a loan of Ł8.5m due to be repaid in 8 years.
They also took on circa Ł4m debt from Rangers1872.

That's an awful lot of liabilities for such a new club with no real income from footballing operations.

On top of all that, contracts worth Łm's are being handed out and to reiterate, there's no real income that's guaranteed.

And of course Rangers aren't al

Agree0 Disagree4

Thought it,was rubbish when I first read the original post, but it is being reported in the herald and on sky, sports news.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really dont understand some rangers fans, so what if he wants to invest, are yous all just going to sit back and say 'oh hes not a rangers man, whats he in it for' all the time, if you keep thinking this way the club can never move forward, there are very few owners of top clubs where the investors are actually fans of the club, and i dont personally think (NOT SAYING it would happen) if Ibrox got renamed and we made money it would be a disaster, would still be Ibrox just like every newcastle fan knowes the sports direct areana as St Jameses, and JJB hardly give us the best deal in the world, Also Mike Ashley has done well for Newcastle brought them right back up and invested huge amounts, i support any potential investor into the club

Agree2 Disagree0

Who is sevgers? you must be on the wrong page.this is Rangers fc rumours page the most successful club in the world ! if thats who you meant the the last you knew was unfounded. Rfc have over 25000 season ticket holders at the moment but that will probably rise to about 35000+ by start of next month so to say they have no real revenue streams you are deluded or just expressing your own wishes as fact.sorry to spoil your fantasies but Rfc will always have a healthy following and as for contracts worth millions being handed out don't believe everything you read. we have signed 5 players on a combined weekly wage of less than what steven whittakers weekly wage was with more investors to be announced over coming weeks why your concern? you should worry about your own team;-)

Agree3 Disagree2

On The Mike Astley posts earlier, does anyone actually beleive any Director at RFC was a "Rangers" man? They were out to self serve, get tax free cash for as long as they could get it.

This day of reckoning was always coming, if Astley wants to invest his hard earned brass, let him, the same as Charles and the consortium.

They might not be "Rangers" men, but it was "Rangers" men who got us into this mess before, so maybe its time for change

Agree1 Disagree1

He's major shareholder with JJB, so thats the shirt money going to him for next ten years. with ticket money to ticketus. not looking good for at least 15 years

Agree0 Disagree6

Where were the 25,000 - 35,000 loyal followers when Rangers1872 went to the wall and were condemned to liquidation?!? {Ed039's Note - At Ibrox last night, are you not following, this was the first game sincde Rangers1872 were condemned to liquidation)

Agree1 Disagree1

Celtic have just won more in prize money that we could from winning 3 successive promotions!

Agree1 Disagree4

The only reason Rangers didnt go to the wall sooner was they had the income from the CL.
No income for the new set up = big trouble.
You lot have jumped on the Green train, you'll end up under it!

Agree0 Disagree2

IF EVERYONE HAD GIVING AN EXTRA Ł300 AND GOT A FIGURE HEAD THE OLD CLUB JUST MIGHT BE ALIVE.....?Then again maybees knotty>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>HMRC

Agree0 Disagree1

Spl hell ? What planet are you on ? You will be watching possibly the lowest division in european senior football. Of course ally and his team are putting a shine on it, they will be getting paid a fortune for effall. It must be said though, delusion can be comfortable, but only as long as it lasts.

Agree0 Disagree3

In reply to our embittered fried above, who has still not accepted the sad but nevertheless true event of the death of his former club, it seems that he has still not grasped the dictionary-defined meaning of the word 'tainted'. So here it is: for a win/victory to be 'tainted' the winners/victors would have had to have broken rules/laws/both in their win/victory. To my knowledge, Celtic broke no rules/laws whilst winning the title last season. Can you say the same for all the titles won by Rangers over the last decade? I think most people are starting to understand who, exactly, won 'tainted' titles. Enjoy following your new team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen to who's "embittered" as you put it. all the dark side are now trying desperately to condemn any win rangers ever had to run us down further. we're already in the sodding third and, as was already pointed out, are unlikely to make as much money over 3 promotions as celtic just won winning the spl. any form of investment in the club can only be taken as a good thing. incidentally, there was never any cheating on the field of battle (that's why the referees are there) obviously the same can't be said for the boardroom! rule brittania.

Agree0 Disagree0

Innocent until proven otherwise.

Agree0 Disagree0

"our embittered fried" oh the irony is lost on you! this is a GERS fans site and you talk as if you the celtic fan is in the majority haha you lot are obssessed with all things Rfc and the fact our membership of the sfa was TRANSFERED and not a new one applied for really spells it out Rfc did not die it mearly has a new company runing the buisness side. If you don't agree with this you should try looking up cetic football and athletic club , celtic fc and celtic fc plc and pacific shelf 595 as well as the various other companys that have owned celtic in the past 30 years.people in glass houses...

Agree2 Disagree0

My embittered friend, Celtic has the same company number as it did in 1889. You listen to Mr Green far too much without questioning his nonsense. This is EXACTLY why Rangers died in the first place; too much fawning reverence to idiots who play to the cheap seats and not enough real questions asked. Sad, very very sad. Look up companies house and see for proof. It's freely available information and it will show you how much nonsense Mr Green is talking.

Agree0 Disagree0

Innocent until proven otherwise.

Rangers have been found guilty, and they have appealed it.

Agree0 Disagree0

You do understand that there is a difference between a company changing structure and a company dying, don't you? You can change structure and still br the same company; you cannot be a liquidated company and still be the same company; UK insolvency law forbids this... For a good reason. If you're the same company then you are still liable for all of your debts. We all know this is not the case. Why can't some people accept this?

Agree0 Disagree0

"He's major shareholder with JJB, so thats the shirt money going to him for next ten years. with ticket money to ticketus. not looking good for at least 15 years"

Who seriously posted this? I mean really! Are you seriously stupid! Ticketus are gone! When we liquidated, our old debts went bye bye! Idiot man!

Thoughts exactly! Too Many Gers fans are so negative! If he wants to invest, let him! He's made Newcastle one of the best run clubs unlike your Man City and Chelsea or Malaga! Who are being run into the ground with debt and masses of money being spent on players! Newcastle reached 5th on a budget... Mike Ashley could help turn rangers round! You know that "Living with your means". Mike could install that! Plus if Ibrox got us 15 million for being renamed I'd go for that any day!!

Agree0 Disagree0

To the very excited above poster: I don't think mike Ashley is coming in to take over. Mr green just wants him to throw some spare change into the 'the Rangers' pot. So don't be too surprised if he doesn't come in and take control.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, I think the poster meant where was the support before you became the new Rangers. Some games esp cup game v the arabs was poor.
As for don't believe all you read in the papers............ well that is this post summed u!. Look on the bright side, Celtic have got Euro footie till at least Xmas no matter what happens in the next rd of CL. Good for Scots football, right?? Hbhoy

Danny Invincible and Rudi Skacel, to be trailists next week. Danny was mentioned to Ally by Craig Moore on a free.

Believable40 Unbelievable56

I'd take scakel in a minute but no thank you to invincible

Agree1 Disagree1

Rudi Skacel yes danny invincible absolutely NOT, we have kids better than him at the club, skacel at least offers a bit of quality.

Agree1 Disagree0

Would rather we played McKay And MaCleod

Agree1 Disagree0

Would rather play mc,coist and murdo mcloud,

Agree1 Disagree0

With all these players being signed & the SFL having a rule that a team can only have 22 senior players - Who is Leaving

Agree0 Disagree0

Look at the bigger picture, we need midfield and defenders in now!

Agree0 Disagree0

Invincible would surley be good in div 3 i could play in that leauge!

Agree0 Disagree0

Skacel can play left mid and centre mid and can also play up top if need, hes a goal machine take him in a sec

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would you make that up? with craig beattie still a possible signing why would we go for a poorer striker than the other 3 we have signed. Rudi Skacel WILL NOT COME TO RANGERS. FACT. dont understand why people just make things up

Agree0 Disagree0

You couldn't play in that league. And no he would not surely do a job in div 3. We've played two div 2 sides so far and Broadfoot doesn't look any better to me. It's midfield and defence we need to build now. I think McKay and Macaleod should get a chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Would you lot not prefer to blood youngsters than throw money at ageing players with no sell on value?

Agree0 Disagree0

22 senior players mind. we only have about 10

Heard a rumour that Michael Stewart former Hearts player is on the radar, anyone hear the same?

Believable20 Unbelievable74

Would be a fantastic signing if true....PLEEASE?

Iain

Agree0 Disagree2

I knew him a while back. He was good mates with a friend of mine in Edinburgh. He has a huge ego, a massive chip on his shoulder from his failure at man u, and enjoys the a night on the town. Exactly the kind of guy we don't need at our club.

Agree1 Disagree0

Michael Stewart is my second cousin without any word of a lie and I havent heard a thing. Wouldnt take him anyway because he is a dick!

Agree2 Disagree0

Are we Hearts in disguise lol
Did he not have a trial at Rangers before he went to hibs ?

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be gd but a hink we need to bleed Hutton into the team

Agree1 Disagree0

Hope not, every club hes been at hes been a failure i dont think hes got it, and from what i remember hes not great, Kyle Hutton is much better

Agree2 Disagree0

We took him on trial years back, no good.

Agree2 Disagree0

As I said, and because of all the above, I would love this to be true :)
