any news on craig beattie surely worth a punt Rangers mad supposed to be.

Believable24 Unbelievable22

This is a guy i would take a chance on 100%, but i know he is a celtic supporter but that dont bother me if it dont bother him:)

Qwolf

Agree0 Disagree0

Has a rangers tattoo on his leg by all accounts. got mega stick from celtic players in the changing rooms in particular neil lennon. nothing pure serious, not in the slightest suggesting lennon bullied the lad but the stick certainly annoyed him. heard this rumour in a club in coatbridge that beatties parents reguarly attended. would be sweet if he got a chance to get one over on lennon. think hes decent n would offer a lot more than healy imo. cousin n beattie up top actually looks a no bad partnership imo.
j1985

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a Rangers fan but played for Celtic 100%

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes a rangers fan and hes gash

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of cobblers! he's a pro footballer make the best offer and you can have him.better buy a new treatment table as well........green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Was a rangers youth released by advocaat

Agree0 Disagree0

It was a red hand of ulster tattoo he had, think he got it removed once he was in first team squad at celtic

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are we waiting until two weeks after the transfer window shuts to even consider free options ? It's rediculous and to even consider Cousin is a joke ! AGer

Agree0 Disagree0

His tattoo is a red hand of Ulster. He wasnt bullied but stick did fly about but tell me one changing room that doesnt happen in?

Agree0 Disagree0

He was a season ticket holder in the Copland Road stand for years, lived in my area and went to the games with my mates younger brother etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Posted yesterday that it defo wont happen. McCoist says that the last thing he needs in to sign an ex-Celtic player. No Go!

The Pilot!

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont think he was released, rangers pissed about with a pro contract offer and celtic moved in and offered him one he waited then moved to them when the gers offer never came, he`s a rangers fan, he`s a striker id go for him
stg

Agree0 Disagree0

The pilot? well why did we sign miller when ally was the right hand man for walter? They both obviously spoke about signings to each other so a doubt ally would have said that lol IMO,

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm only telling you what McCoist told the reported from the Record who reported the Cousin story. Beattie is someone he does not want to sign just now, so go Lol somewhere else.

The Pilot!

Agree0 Disagree0

Where would his £15 - £20K a week come from, even till the end of the season.

Anyone else heard the danny webber rumour ? Portsmouth centre forward not heard much about him ?

Believable8 Unbelievable19

Aye 1 goal in 25 games for Portsmouth.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its on the express website as part of the daniel cousin story,

say mccoist is considering him aswell

Agree0 Disagree0

Webber's scoring record is poor. don't want him

this a little change of subject but check out.......... {Ed014's Note - I have already explained today that that little cretinous bigots blog or his views has no place on here. His poisonous warped mentality has no place here or any civilised society. He is an idiot and no real Rangers fan.

Believable17 Unbelievable7

Well said ed,keep up the good work.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed why don't you just report this muppet to the police then that mite put a stop to him {Ed014's Note - It is just someone trying to link to a blog.He keeps trying it so I felt I needed to answer again.

Agree0 Disagree0

How narrow minded must this individual be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

Love you ed xxx {Ed014's Note - Please be female!

Agree0 Disagree0

As a Celtic fan, i must applaud your integrity ed, normally i would say hail hail, but, as that doesn't apply to you, i would just say, well done and at the very least, you have the respect of myself.

Don't worry you guys will still have a club to support in some form, maybe, not the one with 107 or so trophies, but, a Gers {Ed014's Note - Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never thought i'd say well done to a cel##c fan, but i applaud the guy above, well done lad. he is right, no matter what happens, there will always be a rangers, and a rangers with a massive history, some might say the most successful club in world football. WATP KEEP THE FAITH GUYS

Anyone got an idea when big lafferty Is back? Also, do u reckon things would be as bad if him and naisy were fit? We certainly are missing naisy

Believable22 Unbelievable6

Lafferty will not be back.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Naisy was fit, we probably would'nt have thrown away our lead, we'd probably still be few ahead tbh

Agree0 Disagree0

Lafferty back in 3/4 weeks
would have the title lifted by now if we had kept a full squad but this is football

Agree0 Disagree0

Awe man can't believe what the Celtic fans r singing....... CAN U HERE THE PEOPLE SING.
not on Mr wyhte s@#%e!

Agree0 Disagree0

If they were fit we would be better placed to compete but it would just be hiding the truth, this season is gone, im more concerned about the survival of my club than honours this season

Agree0 Disagree0

Think Naisy is our best player by a country mile. Probably the best player in Scotland

Agree0 Disagree0

Lafferty 1 game from triggering an extra payment-he may have played his last, agent Craig Whyte strikes again

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, if Lafferty plays one more game, Rangers hav eto pay a further £800k.

Agree0 Disagree0

It might be a we blessing that naisy is out cause if he wasnt he would have gone as well as jelavic.

rangers in for cousin according to clyde 1. usually wouldnt fancy signing a 35 year old former player but f##k me we need suhin. if he produces any form similar to his performances against lyon n celtic then its a decent move by ally.
j1985

Believable31 Unbelievable10

Decent move, but also desprate i think...just hope he works out for us

Agree0 Disagree0

Wont come... couldnt get away quick enough the last time

Agree0 Disagree0

2 words folks Davie Weir

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course he'd come. he plays domestic football in gabon ffs. should have kept this deal hush hush until the last minute as we know how much they lot love to steal our targets.
j1985

Agree0 Disagree0

J1985; oh i think you might be alone in wanting this old guy!

Agree0 Disagree0

We are a big enough laughing stock, this takes it to another level !! I'm scunnered with this whole season and just want it all to end and start again...... fair and square and on level ground, nothing hanging over us and no snidey jibes from the deluded visitors from darksville. Just sick of it all !!!!

Ed why's the boy templeton no playing is he injured... What about kello anyone know if he's in goal..... macGER {Ed014's Note - Templeton is injured,Romanov isn't letting Kello play because he refused a transfer.Ian Black and Zaliukas are banned.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Aye heard that bout kello the last game thought he might be back in though. Hearts are missing to many players for a result the night like. cheers ed. macGER

Agree0 Disagree0

Skachel also out injured. Stevenson and Johnsson have left club. Will be a very poor Hearts side.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but yet again Celtic concede a perfectly legitimate goal and it's not given. Where are all there conspiracy theories this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shut it!!
Were having a party n rangers r no.

Agree0 Disagree0

In real time it is so hard to see if it went over the line and also it was 0-4 so it wasnt like they won by 1 goal

Agree0 Disagree0

Ceptics supporters go hide where you've been hiding for the last decade Or so.you,s are not wanted on here.amazing how many maggots have crawled out after they go on a run of wins.tm

if mccoist was ever to leave rangers i would love ian holloway as rangers manager .great man manager , plays good football , has an eye for a player and can get decent quality for a small budget ....bigt

Believable45 Unbelievable16

Don't think so mate... Ian hollaways a man who always seems one game away from a nervous breakdown... One week in Glasgow he'd end up in carstairs.... macGER

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a good shout. he would have the team playing a brand of football us fans have been deprived of for years. would he leave england to come to our dire league, don't think so!

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good manager would love to see his pre and post match conference's especially after an old firm game the guy is a legend

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed, someone like that or Derek McInnes would be good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aggree with MacGer. Love the way his teams play but not sure he could handle the goldfish bowl.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good shout mate would love him at gers but there's more chance of us getting Ian Huntley than Ian Holloway./biggles

Agree0 Disagree0

Was thinking the very same a few days ago . Always sets up a team to have a go and works in a shoe string budget. Love how he says it as it is. Scottish media would love him would run out of copy!

Agree0 Disagree0

Best post i've seen here in ages !! He is bubbly and loves the game

Mind you Capello is a free agent now ?? Anyone at Ibrox understand Italian thogh ?

At this stage when funds are derisory and attacking options futile I am more than happy that we are in talks with Cousin.
Yes 35 is too old long term but its a short term fix we need and after having a good African Nations Cousin ticks all the boxes.
Lets hope the moany wee s**t is as productive as last time when he signed off with a nice strike V the bottle crashers
theglasgowranger

Believable28 Unbelievable7

Good shout, big strong guy, leads the line,ok,he can be a bit moody, but if he scores goals ,i will be happy.mon the big Daniel,do the business.Keep Believing

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet again were stepping back instead of going forward. am no happy way this. he's only hooking.on to us as a meal ticket!
F##k cousins and f@#k coisty !!

Agree0 Disagree0

I watched cousin last time he played against celtic great speed he bombed past the celtic players i think he will be a great player if only for a few months

Agree0 Disagree0

The bottom line is, if we keep within touching distance of Celtic come the last 2 old firm games of the season then Cousin is the type of guy who could make a difference. Apparently McCoist is interested in Danny Webber, does anyone know if that's aswell as Cousin or is it another option?

Agree0 Disagree0

It was fe kin 4 years ago tht he cored a goal against Celtic. He also called all the players drunks when he left last time

Agree0 Disagree0

You really are deluding yourself if you think for 1 moment that cousins is the answer he scored 4 years ago he is 35 you can get away with it as a defender but not a striker how many goals you think he will score 10 , 15 remember big laff aminute has only scored 6 this season fur fox sake wake up join reality no wonder whyte can pull the wool over your eyes if you believe that going for a 35yr player will win the league

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly. People go on about it like he did it every week. Yes he played great against Celtic (in his last game), although it shouldn't be forgotten that he got sent off in that game, yes he played well against Lyon but that's about it. 2 games worth mentioning and one was cos' he wanted out of there. Lest we forget that he then badmouthed the club, the players etc as soon as he was out. And again, it was over 4 years ago! He's barely kicked a ball in 2 years, even less so in the last six months. Not the answer.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Feb 2012 16:49:09
A lot of people giving Cousin stick, mainly because he is 35.

I remember not so long ago we signed a guy who was in the later stages of his career, he turned out not too bad.

Believable31 Unbelievable8

I am actually pleased, i liked him when he was here knows how to score and a powerful boy.. just shows how far we have come though and what to expect in the future, but im optimistic now or more than i was anyway if he signs

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Feb 2012 16:37:58
Ed could u set me strait on my question please, this talk that whyte funding another small english side is it not prohibited for a owner to have involvement financialy with 2 clubs? {Ed014's Note - As long as there is no conflict of interest as in the same FA or same UEFA competition. Enic have done it and so does Romanov with Hearts and Kaunas.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Romanov has another club as well

Agree0 Disagree0

Craig White is not funding anyone except Rangers get a grip.

pretty strong rumour that mcleish is gettin the boot and will return as gers boss......get allyoot...noo...or suffer the consequences....oh and durrants a diddy

Believable15 Unbelievable44

Mcleish will get th boo but do you honestly think rangers are in the market for a £1 million a year manager? Get a hold of yourself

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally and Ian are Rangers greats,i find it hard to accept the criticism aimed at them at the moment, they have had no money to spend on players, vying for freebees and cheapies, give them the season, then take stock.

Agree0 Disagree0

Durrant is a diddy,,by the way does anybody know what happened to andy watson,,another diddy......

Agree0 Disagree0

I know he said he had unfinished business at Rangers but do you really think he'd even consider coming back at the moment when we're in even more of a mess than we were the last time. Stick with Ally, this season will only make him stronger. How many other first time managers have had to contend with what he has ?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think ally shouldnt be sacked he loves the club but i realise the results havent be a good as should be but i think he needs to be given a chance to be fair hes been restricted what players he can buy so i think he needs more time to prove himself ally go 4 ina row

Agree0 Disagree0

To the original poster, show some respect for ally and Ian please, they are after all rangers greats who are running the club as best they can with limited resources, even if you are a Celtic fan I think we can both agree the pedigree of signings on both sides of the old firm.

Andy

Agree0 Disagree0

What an idiot When Ally had money and a full team we were unstopable. Finance is the problem not the manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

This original poster is an utter t**t mccoist has had no cash what so ever his face on deadline day showed how much he cared and the fact he wasnt getting any money i bet you werent saying that when we were 15 points infront of the tims and then we got all them injuries so i think it shows whats the issue.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree we should get ally out I wasn't happy with him getting the job in the first place but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and it's not worked out !
Plus when did rangers become a place for rookies managers ?

Brian the bear

Agree0 Disagree0

I know its not all Allys fault however he has no excuse for how the team are playing. Totally void of any sort of movement. It was counted against Aberdeen that we made 20 passes in our own half within our defence. THAT is a coaching issue NOT a finance issue. If the likes of Kenny Sheils and Danny Lennon can get their team passing well then there is no reason why Ally shouldnt. It seems from watching that we have forgotten how to pass and move, we are just so static, its infuriating. Players should take blame aswell. Im willing Ally to do well however he is not blameless in this. Caolbear

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Feb 2012 15:59:08
I understand the need for a striker to add to the squad but as it will deffo cost cash of some sort to add Cousin to the squad why not go for a younger guy? There MUST be somone out there worth taking a punt on who can either play and score for us for the next few seasons or at least have the chance of a sell on value... 35 years old ffs!
BB

Believable10 Unbelievable13

Will only cost wages for cousin,

he will only be there if he signs until end of season as he a free agent just now,

and then in the summer i would expect a few strikers to join, as we are looking at people who will be out of contract in the summer to sign on pre-contracts like the guy from falkirk..

Agree0 Disagree0

He will only be there till the end of the season and he will get goals

Agree0 Disagree0

Todays daily star does some scounting for us and mentions Craig beattie, Derek riordan, Danny webber, Febian brandy, Tarmo kink, Zlatan muslimovic. Potential?

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers for year have been incapable of scouting the continent for young attacking options. its a farce.

Agree0 Disagree0

Craig Beattie and Derek Riordan to name a couple.

wee bill

Agree0 Disagree0

Relying on the daily star for players says it all dont you think, and were the money coming from in the summer to buy these players or pay their wages

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Feb 2012 15:49:25
Is it just me or does anybody else think the Honduran boy we let go n hubs sign will come back to bite us in the ass.

Believable25 Unbelievable4

If mckay, ortiz, USA dude and Marvin have anything to go by then he will be gash.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know if he will come back to bite us ... but i do think we have just let a good player slip through... a the end of the day it pleases me to see other teams in the league buying what looks to be decent players

Agree0 Disagree0

The way i see it is if he is good enough for hibs then he is good enough for us, because i do not think our players are really any better than the players at other so called lower premier league teams, cause if they were then we would not be getting beat by these teams, Dundee UTD the perfect example.

Agree0 Disagree0

Another player who could do the same is jordan mcmillan who like so many youngers never got a descent chance to prove himself. he did the right thing in leaving rangers. i mean if your sitting on the bench because of whittaker or broadfoot then u would need to have a serious word with yourself. I'm still baffled that for all our financial woes, why on earth whittaker was given a 5 year deal on 25k a week is beyond me.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Mccoist knows a good player when he sees one...he thinks Edu is brilliant...how many chances has Edu been given and people like McKay [player of the year] not alot....

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he also let fleck go, and although i am not flecky's biggest fan surely to goodness he has more to offer than little or kerker who are not rangers class.

Always liked him when he was here.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally looking at cousin, well you can take the boy out of East Kilbride...........

Agree0 Disagree0

Am i missing the big picture but the biggest problem is we are not creating opportunities. against utd how many balls were put into the box. cousin is the type of player who needs descent service to bang in the goals. perhaps aluko could be the key link!

Redknapp and mandaric cleared of all tax evasion changes.hope it sets precedent for ours. {Ed014's Note - Totally different scenario.

Your righ,t ed but if u mind back it all started on the same day so i can see where the poster is coming from ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not, I hope we go bust and start again, minus the moronic WATP scum fans that drag our. Name through the mud, im not a rangers fan im a football fan that supports rangers, cant bear to go to games anymore, cant ignore the filth element and neither should anyone else, the young fans coming through are the worst, thuggs

Agree0 Disagree0

Very same scenario , different sums

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not, I hope we go bust and start again, minus the moronic WATP scum fans that drag our. Name through the mud, im not a rangers fan im a football fan that supports rangers, cant bear to go to games anymore, cant ignore the filth element and neither should anyone else, the young fans coming through are the worst, thuggs

WTF are you talking about. Now I don't normally jump to this conclusion but you are a Celtic fan. It's ooooozzzzzing out of your post. Concentrate on your own team. Celtic fans are more interested in our club that they are in their own. (It's Freaky)
Ji

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah your right. all i've listened to all week is celtic fans on radio so concerned by rangers problems. i should remind them there is only a 1 point advantage in league and we are the champions! come on the hearts

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really Ed. THe principles are the same making offshore payment without paying tax??. How can you simply dismiss it as as totally different scenario you a tax lawyer now as well as "THE INSIDE MAN" {Ed014's Note - Tax evasion and tax avoidance are completely different in legal terms. That's why I can dismiss it.Has any criminal charges been brought against anyone to do with Rangers?

Agree0 Disagree0

They tried to take harry redknapp for tax evasion. The HMRC arguement with Rangers is that what Murray called Tax Avoidance was actually tax evasion. Therefore if Rangers are found to Liable they have in turn evaded tax rather than avoid which is the same thing. The difference is Redknap was charged with tax evasion and if Rangers are found guilty further charge could be brought against within the regime who knowingly evaded tax.

Agree0 Disagree0

Our case concerns itself with paying employees without national insurance and tax contributions. I believe (though i'll need to read the case when the details are published) that Redknapp and Mandaric got off because they claimed the money was not work related. I'd agree with ED and say there's not much precedent there for us (as far as i am aware). Coincidentally, it cost HMRC £8m to pursue the case against redknap knowing the sums pursued were less than £100,000. How ridiculous is that!? Muzz

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't know if there is any truth in it, but I was reading a Scottish news website and they were commenting on the biased BBC. They are saying that the bbc are using Craig Whyte and Rangers troubles to hide any news that makes the Scottish Government look good. A classic case of nothing to look at here , but here's a muck raking report on rangers to divert your attention. There seems to be a good few commenters of the opinion that they are doing there best to put us out the game. Perhaps we need to ramp up the pressure on the BBC and get the truth. Alex McI.

Believable28 Unbelievable23

Listen and stop going on about bbc they never got rangers into the mess they ib it was murray they never let a crook buy the club it was murray would you prefer that nobody said anything bad about the club , when what they are saying is true because if it wasnt then whyte would be sueing them but he isnt what does that tell you idiot please newspapers only say nice things about us idiot

Agree0 Disagree0

If Rangers go out of the game it will not be the fault of the BBC or any other media outlet. It will be as a result of years of financial mismanagement by the previous owner and the potential disasterous financial strategy the current owner is taking.

What, do you think reporting the tax case, the advance sale of tickets, Whyte's dubious past will in itself put Rangers out of business. Don't be an @rse.

Wake up and smel the coffee.

Agree0 Disagree0

Laughable! rangers are at the centre of not just the biggest sporting story ever but also one of the biggest stories for years.whyte asked for this by starting a war with the BBC. also its not just BBC who are on it now its every form of media....green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

The BBC as anti Rangers pmsl its the opposite ffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant believe the hypocrisy, the bbc are a job club for ex gers, this is a top story that was held from release by the bbc until there precious rankgers won there title, and if there wasn't a story as bad and humiliating as this one, the beeb would happily archive

Agree0 Disagree0

Still cant believe some people seem to think the BBC has an anti rangers agenda, they are reporting on a huge story which many other media sources either covered up or ignored for far too long. The BBC is the only media orginisation which cannot have an agenda as is Government funded, if anybody at rangers seriously doubted this they would take leagal action. Yesrs of financial mismanagmement has came back to bite the club on the ar*e

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol because it's government owned it doesn't have an agenda? the fact that it is government owns means it obviously has an agenda and bias towards topics ... not necessarily rangers but come on .... " because it's government owned " that was hilarious to read...

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank g_d for the bbc or we would know nothing its a very sad day when we depend on bbc and celtic minded sites to give us some truth not but some truth........les

Agree0 Disagree0

All I can say is where is the BBC documentary on the shady past of Dermot Desmond? Plenty muck on him.

www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/ireland/2011/0323/1224292846891.html

Agree0 Disagree0

The BBC are not owned by the government. The BBC is a public service broadcaster owned by the people ALL the people.

The BBC did not cause this mess, David Murray did by pretending to bankroll the club with his own money only for the fans to find out it was a "loan" he wanted back.

I hope he pays for this with his precious knighthood

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldnt agree more the bbc choke on any positive snp story! They never give right of reply to the scottish government but have some unionist party laying in to the snp! Even if you dont like the snp this is the kind of news you get in syria not in a "free" democracy

Agree0 Disagree0

Not trying to put a dampner on cousans but a step backwards is never good and he wont live up to the same expectation, secondly what did he show us when he went to hull dropped like a hot potato for his riches,n come summer if his spell was to b good he would do same again, thirdly he had it good at rangers showed no loyalty when he went away n now he stuck for a club use the gers again, and if he was all that y does he not have a club, personaly i would stay well clear,

Believable16 Unbelievable19

We should take cousin if ally thinks he's worth it, but there's a fee involved as we need to get someone in to scrape him from the bottom of the barrel

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a big target man in the box who cares he left to go to the epl

Agree0 Disagree0

So i suppose you'd stay with your employers if you were offered more elsewhere !get realand grow up he did a good job before why not now
billy n

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally Always seemed to like Cousan first time he was here. So it would not surprise me if he did sign (assuming you have the money). He is/was a difficult player in the SPL where he got away with a more "physical" game than he would in most other league. I would think he could do a job short term and is better than what you have but really a backward step. If you have money for Cousan then why not spend it else where

David

Agree0 Disagree0

In reply to your 3 reasons why not to resign him.
1st he has just played the best football of his career during the African nations so he could easily be as effective this time around
2nd He was after 1 last pay day when he left and £2-3m and an old firm strike in last game was hardly dropping us in it
3rd He is only a short term deal until end of season so why bother if hes not here beyond that, he was released in Oct I think and was obv free and he got no offers so the loyalty thing is irrelevant
Would you leave ur job for similar job on better terms?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed is there anything in these Daniel cousin stories I'm hearing or is it as simple as him been a former player who has no club an is therefore linked with a return. macGER {Ed001's Note - well his agent has offered him to Rangers, I believe the story is correct that he is having or will have a trial just to see if he is worth signing.}

Oh good.....another middle aged trialist we cant afford and dont really want long term, go Rangers you're doing us all proud keep up the good work. Should I make the cheque for my season ticket payable to Mr C Whyte?

Agree0 Disagree0

He's better than what we have n we Don't exactly have a lot of strikers. He's done well with Gabon and is playing with his local team there. I think he'd do a job for us till the end of the season

Agree0 Disagree0

Sign him... I watched him play the other night for Gabon, he is a much better player now than he was before.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope not didn't like him 1st time around

Agree0 Disagree0

, Why can't you see that we have no options left? This is the only option we have! remember cousin was brilliant for us ( when he wanted to be) so drop the negativity please and support our team no matter if its right or wrong, good or bad WATP. (loyal bear) oh and he is a proven goalscorer so we already know he is good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope he does, even at 35 he would score goals, and is twice the player sandaza is, would be a genuis signing untill the end of the season i think......anyone remember the resigning of hately under similar circumstances.....just pointing out!! Cousin would knock celtics defence up and down the pitch just like lafferty and jelavic did at ibrox

Agree0 Disagree0

Never wanted him first time round, and he done nothing then tp make me want him now i would take sandaza over cousin just as at least he would try cousin never did just worked enough to get a move and then never done nothing for hull city
Qwolf

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is it there is always a big time delay for new msgs on this page u come. on hete and nothing had been updated for hours whats going on and no doubt u wont show this msg tae {Ed014's Note - Because we need to wade through completely pointless posts like yours, it takes up time.If the posts are pointless or not suitable then there is nothing to post. Not that hard to grasp surely.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do we not sign Muslimovic, he's still a free agent. He has a half decent goal scoring record

Agree0 Disagree0

Two words.... Kevin Phillips!!

He's doing a job for Blackpool still in the championship & thats a better league than the spl :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Great! a 35 year old sulky player at the moment playing in gabon! this gets better n better.

Agree0 Disagree0

When cousin was on his game (hardly ever I know) he was braw, His last game for us against the tic was by far his best display in a rangers top.. He destroyed they're defence. Lets be honest the team we put out against utd at the weekend would find it very hard to get a result against the tic atm, We need a striker who can head the ball!

Agree0 Disagree0

A guy who has played 60 games in 4 years he is quality i right this is the way to go to loose the league

Agree0 Disagree0

Gazza will no doubt be reappearing at the gates of Murray Park with his box of cooked chicken and cans of lager.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kevin Philips? What's your point? As you said, he's playing for Blackpool!

Agree0 Disagree0

Kevin Phillips point is he is 38 & still scoring goals in a better league than the SPL, so for the ones slating Cousin because of his age, 35 & in a poor league will probably do OK

Agree0 Disagree0

Kevin Phillips 26 games this season 10 goals

Daily Record again showing off their amazing journalism by insisting that if Daniel Cousin was to sign for Rangers this week he could feature against Dunfermline. If they had bothered to do a bit of research they would know that if Daniel Cousin was to resign for us he would be suspended for his first game back as he was red carded during Rangers Four Two victory at Parkhead which turned out to be his last game for the club

Believable35 Unbelievable10

Nonsense mate i think u will find as he went to fullham he would have been banned for thir first game lol why on earth would a ban stand waiting incase he came back to the clb lol

CF3

Agree0 Disagree0

He wouldnt be suspended thicko as he served that when he went to fulham

Agree0 Disagree0

Really? Why is that? that was like 3-4 years ago lol (loyal bear)

Agree0 Disagree0

Well ur totally wrong pal so you can recind your comment!! suspensions reflected on the club are part of the players contract they have with a club, hence why clubs are allowed to fine and sanction players along with the football association with the country, when Cousin left last time his contract is void with rangers, its only if they go on loan and come back you would be correct, but a new contract with a club does not include previous red cards under an old contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

The 4-2 game was that his last game for us? if it was then i dont think he is suspended for the next game, but i may be wrong. is it not only if you get 2 yellow and a red your suspended for the next game ?

Agree0 Disagree0

The ban stands as believe it or not the English and Scottish FAs are completely different entities. Also it was Hull and not Fulham

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys,
first of all he didn't sign for Fulham, he signed for Hull. Second of all, he has a 1 game suspension pending for Scottish football, it doesn't carry across to the Premierleague, and he will be banned for 1 game if he signs - the ban doesn't just get wiped. Before you all start to slag the original poster off get your facts right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Amazing how fast you turn on each other

Agree0 Disagree0

Cousin was in other media sources yes, my question is why are you still buying or viewing on-line - The daily Record?!?

Agree0 Disagree0

Just shows how little these fools know, his suspension was served at Hull. FACT

Sorry ed another Q for ya.... I'm I right in thinking it's in everyone's interest HMRC included for rangers NOT to get a 50mill tax bill. From what (I think) I no ( which ain't much) if we do get a shafting then HMRC will get sweet FA an we will go into admin. Is that right mate? macGER {Ed014's Note - No.If Rangers lose this the full amount is due immediately, even if Rangers appeal the money goes to HMRC awaiting an appeal decision.

Believable4 Unbelievable11

Hi ed,been told if Craig Whyte forces administration (Or is the one to take rangers into administration of his choice) then hmrc will get ZILCH.this is due to Craig Whyte being the preferred creditor.so he will get his chance to deal with administrators first.friend is a chartered accountant and this is his understanding.however still a lot of unknowns.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, it's in everyone's best interests that no-one is pursued for tax evasion

lol!!

taco

Agree0 Disagree0

Not quite accurate. If rangers go into liquidation and fold the company then potentially hmrc could get nothing. As rangers are a plc then if folded they can't come after whyte or Murray . Maybe whyte will present hmrc with the choice of negotiating or getting nothing {Ed014's Note - Negotiating has already been dismissed as an option.HMRC get their money if they win the case.Do you think they will just write it off?

Agree0 Disagree0

Craig Whyte has a 1st ranking security over Rangers assets in the sum of £18m, and as such he would get the 1st £18m of Rangers assets. HMRC would then, along with other creditors be entitled to a share of remaining assets. Bain of course has his £0.4m ringfenced.

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand this to be the case too. Whyte is the only secured creditor and if we lose the Tax case then he would have little option but to put the club into administration which would mean HMRC getting nothing. I have also heard from a very reliable source that CW has already offered HMRC £12m in full and final settlement, this being the basic claim with penalties etc taking it up to the widely reported £50m figure. This offer is on the basis that there is no acceptance of any wrongdoing on Rangers part as the strong advice is that Rangers will still win the case. However, the whole tax situation is crippling the club and starving them of fresh investment via new sponsorship deals etc. Problem is HMRC are using this A's a test case and if successful, they will recoup much much more from the Premiership clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

For the love of god lets get the facts right. HMRC are super confident of winning this case. Why ever settle for £12m if they will be awarded £49m ? HMRC rank FIRST in any creditors settlement, the as I would have thought are the Crown interest and they rank 1st. For an institution that puports to be loyal to said crown surely that would be easy to accept.

Agree0 Disagree0

And where would the 49mil come from...

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed what some of us are trying to explain is this.
Rangers are a limited company therefore there is no liability on whyte SDM or any shareholder.
If?? Tax case is lost then HMRC have first shout on any funds I agree with even the celtic interlopers on this. However if whyte has asset stripped the club. Players. Funds. Season ticket money then hmrc will be left with nothing. The only thing would be the stadium. Worthless as it's a listed building and basically a chunk of land in govan otherwise. So if hmrc have any sense before rangers liquidate they may negotiate. Or I imagine whyte hopes they will. If they don't stadium will be put up for sale. maybe just maybe in that scenario some team called FC Rangers snap it up for 5 million ...... See now why hmrc are taking a while to think about this? {Ed014's Note - David Murray tried to negotiate and was told no.

Agree0 Disagree0

If hmrc win the case, Rangers have to have the money to pay it. Rangers say they don't have it so hmrc would have to take enforcement action to get the money. You can't get what rangers don't have.

Agree0 Disagree0

When David Murray tried to negotiate we weren't asset stripped so therefore hmrc said no cos we had players worth money and hadn't mortgaged the season ticket money to fund a takeover

RANGERS were today investigating the possibility of taking Gabon international striker Daniel Cousin, 35, back to Ibrox.

Gers boss Ally McCoist is keen to bring in another striker before Saturday’s SPL visit to Dunfermline.

Cousin’s agent, Willie McKay, said: “Daniel had talks with Ally McCoist and everything is looking pretty positive.”

i hope not he was not that committed the first time round, sandaza for me would have had more to prove, thoughts plz.

Believable11 Unbelievable6

35 years old, Has played only 60 games in the last 4 years and his scoring rate is hardly prolific, is always getting sent off and bone idol!

What idiot came up with this idea?

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you lot forgetting that we have no strikers. Also, Daniel Cousin used to cause Celtic no end of problems in Old Firm matches. I remember my mate who is a big tim, said he was glad to see the back of him. We need players, even if we just give him a deal untill the end of the season i would be quite happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Be realistic here fellow bears, we need a big bruiser up-front. Healy and Lafferty are too lightweight.

The next Old Firm derby isn't too far away, would you lot honestly be happy with Healy and Lafferty up-front against Celtic?

....I certainly wouldn't

TTG

Agree0 Disagree0

He is defo better than what we have, especially if McCoist is going to continue to let the team punt high balls up the field all dayy to Healy, hope it gets done sooner rather than later.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cousin is slower than me .and i am 72.signed for his ability to head the ball.if he has anything left.desperate times indeed. w.a.t.p.

Danial cousin has had talk with ally mccoist and looks to be coming back in time for game with Dunfermline.source daily record.

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Really hope so. Him and Lafferty up front could deliver us 4 IAR.

Agree0 Disagree0

Please NO!! 35 year old waste of space!

Agree0 Disagree0

What age was david weir when he signed??

Agree0 Disagree0

He'd be suspended aswell. We should maybe sign Muslimovic, if we are gonna sign anyone

cousin defo coming in today, dotn know about beattie though.
at last we will have a half decent striker

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Nonsense. Cousin is a 35 year old has been and was never a good striker for us! We would be better persevering with what we have!

Agree0 Disagree0

Beattie is a defo NO. McCoist says that last thing he needs right now is to sign an ex-Celtic player.

Beattie is a blue nose though and would have thought about the move.

The Pilot!

Agree0 Disagree0

Here we go again, stop embarassing us all ffs, no other club feels the need to be so "media friendly", Moyes on Jelavic "I never discuss transfers until theyre complete" McCoist on Brozek "We want him to play up front with Jelavic" what a fecking idiot he has turned to be, every time he gets asked a question he opens his mouth and his brains fall out !

Some advice for McCoist, keep your gob shut and watch the nine in a row box set on dvd that is football, now shape up or feck orf.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the "fan" who is rubbishing Cousins ability due to him being 35, how stupid are you? Does the words Davie or Weir ring any bells? And before you tell me that he can get away with that as hes a defender I say You are only as good as ur last game and he had a very good African nations cup, hes free and hungry to succeed, Great news lets hope he signs!

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Believable we can hardly afford to pay the tea lady at present

We dont need him anyway plus 20k a week for a luxury player who sometimes fancies it ... no thanks craig+babybear

I'd give Kane Hemmings a run in the team up front. Looked good in pre-season, he's young, quick, has an eye for goal and at over 6 ft has a presence.

Believable47 Unbelievable11

I like the look of Hemmings & overall like his attributes, it's just a shame that we're in a current state that we need to rely on a youth player with not much experience to get our goals, hopefully he comes in and does a job.

We've been here before Celtic and we'll be here long after them!

WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol, wat u on mate celtic r fine worry about rangers instead, "we've been here before celtic we'll be here long after them"wat do u mean by that ya loon rangers are screwd celtic aint mate think u'll find celtic will be here long after rangers die hail hail.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant play him or would have to buy him from the youth developement squad limited. Remember that was sold by SDM in 2006.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's where you're wrong with your "hail hail". If Rangers go Celtic will follow. The SPL wouldn't get TV revenue anywhere. Oh that's right mate... There's actually a huge Market for Celtic v Dundee Utd/Inverness/Kilmarnock/Hibs etc. Haha. If Rangers ever went bust I'd take great pleasure in watching Celtic and the SPL flounder "not so long after". WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

People keep going on about SPL tv money when this is a small % of Celtics income getting into europa leage is double what they earn from this and if we got into CL 4 times. Yes Celtic can and will survive without Rangers and their Edinburgh cousins.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hemmings fit and a run of games is more acceptable 2 me than Cousan.I would still take Cousan on a minimal wage, bonus for goals, league ect.. The league is far from over.

Agree0 Disagree0

No offence to the young guy, but he's not up to much and nowhere near Rangers class. Just another hopeless find by our awful scouting system (which needs totally revemped). He'll do nothing for us. FACT

Agree0 Disagree0

Who do you think would come to the SPL and play for C**tic if there was no Rangers?!

No Old Firm......no lure......No Scottish football!

The highland and Junior leagues would be more attractive!

If Rangers go down we're taking Scottish Football with us a sad fact but true!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers are not Scottish football. Players want to play in Europe, Celtic will get European football. Players want money, Celtic have money. Celtic earn more through gate receipts than tv money.Scottish football better off without diving, cheating, bigoted hooligans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry to burst your bubble but when things aint rosy the attendances at the piggery go down (look at when mowbray was failing)european football-dont make me laugh celtic fell at the first hurdle and only got in europa league due to Sion being punished and as for accusing Rangers of being diving, cheating, - pot kettle black
