Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

I first heard the Berahino rumour on here and did not believe it. I am also still skeptical. However, the birmingham mail and the sun (not the scottish sun website) are reporting that Rangers are trying to sign the young man on a pre contract. £500,000 development fee would have to be paid.

He apparently knocked back 20 grand a week from west brom as well. Using twenty grand as a guide, (although he knocked it back apparently) i'm led to believe we were paying Barton similar wages. I do not want to get my hopes built up but this rumour doesn't sound unbelievable to me. Anyone else have any news on this?

08 Jan 2017 21:26:33
Pre contract apparently would be massive if Rangers got this deal done! Personally think it might be to big. Definitely interest from Rangers though . Warbs feels he could pull it off as he's worked with the boy before at Brentford

08 Jan 2017 22:21:24
Yeah I've heard this too, could actually be a shred of truth in it. We'd get the player for around 4-500k whereas he'd command a fee of around £20m from another eng premier team. However, he would only join us on the basis that we put in a £10m release clause in his contract. That means his next employer from eng prem would be getting a bargain and would enhance his personal terms plus we would no doubt have to give him or an agent a large chunk of the £10m fee we recieved. That being said berahino for 1/ 2 or a full season followed by a healthy chunk of a £10m transfer fee ain't bad business at all.

{Ed002's Note - No, that won't happen.}

08 Jan 2017 22:33:55
Why not Ed?

{Ed002's Note - The business does not work like that at all - it is all complete nonsense.}

08 Jan 2017 22:42:59
ed reading some of these rumours is really making me consider going to see a psychiatrist i tell ye rangers are going to sign berahino and i am going to win the national lottery on saturday. people are saying us rangers fans are deluded maybe i am starting to believe them. we simply have no money not even if it was to pull off a major signing like berahino. until we are back playing in europe regularly and the stuff with fat man ashley is sorted out then we knackered and the quicker people realise that the better. anyway off to find the number for my psychiatrist.

08 Jan 2017 23:02:32
Interesting that you think that what I suggested is complete nonsense and that the business doesn't work like that at all. I'm not for a minute suggesting that berahino is on the way to Glasgow but the theory I suggested was one from superagent Jon Smith (a man who i'd imagine knows how the business works better than you ed)

08 Jan 2017 23:23:37
afm do you think for one minute berahino is going to come up here just to help us out for half a season as you say i don't think so and risk himself getting seriously injured and miss out on a big move elsewhere. berahino will no doubt end up at spurs or maybe even head to china he seems like a money grabbing player so wouldn't surprise me if he ended up in china.

08 Jan 2017 23:37:12
Away ye go Amf stop spraffing rubbish. 20k a week wages would be definitely worth it for what we could sell him on for. Get back to his normal self and start atrracting some big teams. Did spurs not put a 25k bid in for him last year when he put his transfer request rejected? Be a good bit of business for us. can't see it happening but can only dream 😀

09 Jan 2017 00:00:00
Ed002 is the 'god' of these pages. If you read any of the others you will see that Ed002 has way more knowledge than anyone who posts on them. So Jon Smith probably doesn't know more. Ed002, nice to see u on this page.

09 Jan 2017 08:28:49
For goodness sake folks. if celtic get a sniff at him for free on those type of wages they would just offer him double what we would offer him . and he would get one or 2 champions league games lol

09 Jan 2017 11:33:11
Will never EVER happen, but I said the same as Blueshaun to a mate yesterday.

09 Jan 2017 12:55:40
don't care what anyone says there's absolutely no chance of him coming.

09 Jan 2017 13:13:05
A get what afm is saying if he comes to rangers we pay a 500 k cross border fee but if he signed for ie spurs it becomes the tribunals decision on the fee which would be close to the 20 million mark if he played for us for a year he could then be signed for whatever rangers want so a english team could get him for half the price ie 10 million and he don't have all the hassel of a tribunal to face and gets to keep playing football no team wants to go to a tribunal and could end up paying 20 million for a free agent

09 Jan 2017 13:25:04
I am only elaborating on a rumour that is being spread by the papers. My point is that despite the players standing and the country that he plays in, I do not find the rumour unbelievable. It is based on the money that the papers are suggesting. Even for Rangers. We signed Dodoo and Rossiter similarly. I do not think it is impossible according to the figures being reported. But I still doubt it will happen. I hope I am wrong though.

08 Jan 2017 17:59:55
Ravel Morrison on our radar apparently, Just passing on a rumour but can't help think someone has seen he's available on a free and made this one up. surely Warburton wouldn't go there after Barton.

08 Jan 2017 21:29:58
The lad Morrison is genuinely talented but he is bad news. Terrible attitude at training. Look at the amount of clubs he has been at already.

08 Jan 2017 17:43:32
there has been contact with alan huttons agent but wages a problem although length contract may help deal for next season ibrox being huttons preffered move only time will tell

08 Jan 2017 18:04:05
Wouldn't want him anyway

08 Jan 2017 18:28:51
why not what's your reasoning, seems everyone baulks at ex players coming back, at least he did not want to leave or jump ship, i for one would have him back, gets stuck in where it matters.

08 Jan 2017 18:44:47
No one jumped ship they were told couldn't pay there wages or wed be tottaly ****ed they helped us by leaving when they did

08 Jan 2017 19:00:31
who helped, whittaker and naismith, you must be having a laugh they helped nobody but themselves, pair of whinging moaners

08 Jan 2017 19:45:50
Weeblueguy you are delusional. Every player along with non playing staff was to Tupe over their contracts to the new company. They could then have been sold on to other teams. They would have commanded vastly reduced fees ie 250k rather than the millions they were worth, but any money would have been better than none. Instead they walked away for nothing to negotiate higher contracts with other clubs as no transfer fee was involved. This argument of "they did it for their families" is nonsense. Do you honestly believe that Everton would have been out off Naismith because of a 250k fee? Come on. Bocanegra, Edu, Goian, Bedoya these guys all tuped over to see what the state of play was going to be. The so called Rangers fans jumped ship to line their own pockets and for no other reason.

08 Jan 2017 20:39:02
Cant see the problem with Hutton. He never jumped ship ( 2008? ) we done good business with him as we had a strong squad at that time In fact after his departure we won another three league titles . So Hutton brought value to the club on and of the field.

08 Jan 2017 20:39:37
Spot on Parky. The other guys you mentioned did things the right way and left with their heads held high. The rest worked their ticket for no other reason than money. BTW I'd take Hutton back in a minute. Hope it happens

08 Jan 2017 21:09:27
Love it when the experts tell us they know everything about contractual/ financial undertakings of the club. Absolutely no prejudice in their views. They just KNOW. Smart guys, wish there were more like them.

08 Jan 2017 21:24:30
Also lampard would offer nothing? Give me a break! Jesus **** . Would be the beast player up hear EVEN at 37 years of age mind Clint hills 38 people lamps is also a bear I've heard

08 Jan 2017 22:34:45
Whittaker Naismith McGregor and Lafferty will always be rats.

08 Jan 2017 22:06:25
Frank Lampard was a brilliant player but anyone who has watched him in recent years will know he is a spent force.

09 Jan 2017 00:03:17
I've honestly never read so much pish. Get a grip you lot Lampard would stroll it here but it's never going to happen. Pipe dreams so put down the bong

09 Jan 2017 07:25:02
When is this former players row going to end it was 2012. The way i see it IF these guys had transferred over by tupe, do you honestly think the club would have seen the funds from any potential fee? Did the club see any of the Jelavic fee, or the Arsenal shares? No it would have been used to line those charlatans pockets. These guys knew what was going on in the background more than any of us fans ever have or will.

As for having them back yes I would but more importantly I wanna see this team getting a grip and show the fight that is required to play for this club.

10 Jan 2017 13:42:04
Hutton was average first time round and we bagged 8 million for him. That should have been the last time Alan Hutton's name was mentioned on this page.

08 Jan 2017 16:29:15
Hearing were retrying to get berahnio on pre contract AND lampard to come for 1 year from a very very realible person

08 Jan 2017 17:04:51
I know this is a rumours site but some of these rumours are verging on ridiculous now.

08 Jan 2017 17:09:23
Obviously a tic fan at the wind up.

08 Jan 2017 20:41:24
Is the Berahino thing not possible when the dark side did similar with Dembele? Development fee of 500k?

08 Jan 2017 21:21:51
That's what I'm hearing up young lad hyndman to be unveiled tomorrow! Anyone remember dave King at Stamford bridge with lamps? Watch this space

08 Jan 2017 23:45:18
Lamps said on soccer Am that his next decision will be based on what's based for his family. no chance he's moving them to Glasgow lol

09 Jan 2017 00:07:22
Fernando I will be the firat to shake your hand on this but have a word with yourself. Do you hear what you're saying? Reliable source? Come ontae

08 Jan 2017 12:18:43
Toral gets green light from wenger on Rangers move

08 Jan 2017 11:31:11
so a deal is supossedly finalised for hydman

08 Jan 2017 14:41:21
in Glasgow now

08 Jan 2017 06:20:01
We want Scunthorpe goal keeper.

08 Jan 2017 20:37:54
Why waste money on signing luke daniels the Scunthorpe utd goalkeeper when we have the no.2 highly rated replacement for matt gilks, already at the club! Bring liam kelly back from his loan deal at livingston! This young keeper is very highly thought of at ibrox! I've seen him playing myself, i honestly think he'll be the future no.1 at rangers, a few years down the line!

08 Jan 2017 23:47:49
Kelly needs game time no point him sitting on the bench as a no.2

09 Jan 2017 12:14:21
He's already been out on loan twice mate! Replicating what happened to allan mcgregor ie. out on loan with dunfermline and st. johnstone and came back and become the rangers no.1, enough said!

08 Jan 2017 05:27:10
The s*n reporting that rangers have made contact with saido berahino over a potential deal, would be amazing if we managed to pull this one off, highly doubtful though

08 Jan 2017 07:18:01
No we haven't.

08 Jan 2017 08:34:35
We could offer massive wages or sell on % and sell him in January for a profit. i'm sure spurs bid 23 million for him in the summer.

Even if he was sold for 10 or 15 we'd still make money.

Not saying i'd want him to be signed for that reason and having someone on huge wages could upset the dressing room.

But it could be being looked at as a reasonable financial opportunity/ gamble by the board?

08 Jan 2017 09:26:44
The only ones that it would upset are our prima donnas that think that they are better than they are! A Buomsong style deal would make both him and us a lot of money and right now that is most likely the only way that we will see any serious funds for much needed new recruits.

All of the above said I don't see it happening!

08 Jan 2017 09:44:22
Camoo spurs bought him for £23 mill. He is on £75k a week. Rangers won't spend any money in this transfer window. They need another £2mill loan to get through the season so that takes loans to around £12 mill. So Rangers fans now expect more loans so they can buy more players? that's how clubs go bust (again) . Next time there us no way back so Rangers can only spend what they can generate same as every other club in Scotland. No pne is being bought. Free transfers and loans only.

08 Jan 2017 09:59:03
I'm led to believe he turned down a 30k a week contract

08 Jan 2017 11:29:47
Spurs never bought him for 23million they had a 22 million bid rejected he's a west brom player but the players contract is up in the summer he wanted to go to spurs but didn't get the chamce and spat the dummy so he's ffell further and further out of favour. he's scored 1 goal i'm the past year amd hates it at west brom so is desperate to move. And we would only need to pay a development fee of 500 grand. Bartons off the wage bill through his wages at him and other titbits . West brom offered him a 20k a week contract so he musta been on less than that before he's worth the punt especially if we could make out of the deal in the long run

08 Jan 2017 11:52:46
Exactly brogie82. I just to be clear, I don't see it happening but would be good business for the club. And he may see it as an opportunity to move to a bigger club

08 Jan 2017 16:41:34
And risk getting injured maybe for a long time for pennies compaired to what he would get at another club down south, wake up people even thinking fot one second he would contanplate on doing this must still be on the sauce from New years day lol Never in a million years will this happen. That days are long gone and while we are still playing in Scotland tgat days will never come again, we should be looking at our recruiting system and trying to find a few gems from the youth players from Murray park (well what was Murray park should i say! )

08 Jan 2017 17:06:34
There are two chances of us signing berahino and both are NO CHANCE

08 Jan 2017 20:47:05
Spurs didn't buy berahino for 23million johnnymac! They bid big money and west brom turned it down!

08 Jan 2017 03:25:47
Emerson Hyndman will come on. Loan Mark Warburton sees this more as a chance to persuade Emerson to join full time rather than using him as a starting 11. He and mcparland will be looking to add young new faces either on pre contracts or at the end of the season. Watch this space

08 Jan 2017 20:32:08
Can't see us getting emerson hyndman for keeps, Bosman1986! Bournemouth manager eddie howe rates him highly and hyndman signed a 4 year contract in the summer there, when they signed him from fulham! I think there's more of a chance of keeping jon toral permanently, as he's out of contract with arsenal this summer! In saying that even that will be hard for us, as toral won't be short of suitors come the summer!

08 Jan 2017 02:42:57
Jon Toral will fly to Glasgow for talks early this week. Previously worked with Warbs at Brentford and only has six months remaining on his contract. It would appear if he impresses he could be offered a 2-4 year contract with the club (if we could afford his wages) .

Emerson hyndman is a done deal, on loan for the rest of the season. U20 American captain, very highly rated, not sure if the answer to our midfield problems though can't be any worse than Halliday or Holt.

We are also targeting Rushian Hepburn Murphy on a pre contract from Aston Villa, this boy is a gem of a player and would be a massive coup for the club, already offered a new deal with villa but appears he will turn it down.

Also anything about considine from the sheep is utter nonsense.

08 Jan 2017 08:13:12
Jon Total - Just what we need. - another injury prone player!

08 Jan 2017 09:27:38
How is he injury prone he is 21 years old and has been playing 30 odd games a season for the last couple of years at Birmingham and Brentford scoring a few goals on the way, this season playing in la Liga has been tougher but how many of our current squad would be holding a regular position in the Spanish top flight at his age he is certainly doing better than someone like Ryan guald, even Oliver Burke Scotland brightest prospect is struggling for game time. I think the boy will do well for us

08 Jan 2017 09:28:04
Gor, he is not injury prone!

08 Jan 2017 09:50:27
Gary - Gauld is now playing regularly for Vitoria setbul after impressing in a cup game against his parent club and playing for Granada is about the same level as playing for a mid-table championship side. but you are right. he would be far better than what we have!

08 Jan 2017 11:03:55
He is far better than what we have but he's not better, or doing better, than Oliver Burke. Burke is at the 2nd placed team in arguably the best league in the world. Now there would be a coup, Burke on loan.

08 Jan 2017 18:00:46
You just said every reason why Burke won't come on lone haha, plays regularly for the 2nd team in germany

08 Jan 2017 20:19:51
Goulding has been recalled to sporting

08 Jan 2017 00:27:08
Sunday papers reporting we're looking at Andrew considine of Aberdeen

08 Jan 2017 16:52:09
Now all Of the rumors this one will probably have the most truth to it a MW Type player (crap) going by his previous signings especially defenders at the onlt one mentioned who in reality wages we could afford, hope not but Probably true just remember a certain Forrester from the sheep a few seasons back!

08 Jan 2017 17:21:48
Don't remember a Forrester from the sheep.

08 Jan 2017 18:03:29
Who and when was Forrester from the sheeo mate?

08 Jan 2017 19:51:24
He means Ricky Foster. Jeez oh.

08 Jan 2017 20:25:11
Papabear, hearing that we will definitely sign jon toral (arsenal) and emerson hyndman (bournemouth), both 6 month loan deals and of course both are midfielders. Warbs is also hoping to tie up these 2 pre contract signings for next season, centre half andrew considine (aberdeen) and striker rushian hepburn-murphy (aston villa) . If we can agree a fee with both aberdeen and aston villa then warbs would like to sign both for rangers this month!
