three easy signings to pacify the rangers support
cuellar 2.75 mill
wallace 1.5 mill
goodwillie 1.75 mill
equates to the c adam money plus 5 mill we supposedly had to spend , this with a centre half and left sided midfielder brought in from a top english side on loan once they have selected there 25 man squad should be enough to generate some enthusiasm for the new season
Believable11
Unbelievable11
Who knew it was so easy You should get on the phone to ally and tell him, he probably hasn't thought about this.
Agree0
Disagree0
Im quite sure the new contracts for mc gregor, whittaker and hopefully davis in whytes mind would have been enough to pacify the fans.
Agree0
Disagree0
What a load of BS. Yea villa will just say ok and Cuellar will just say ok to drop money, Romanov will forget he detests the old firm, and other clubs will forget interest in Goodwillie and he is completely cleared in court, get a grip and think
Agree0

No way would I be paying 1.5mill for Wallace when he only has 12 months left on his contract

Just turned over to ESPN to watch the Uruguay vs Chile game and Humberto Suazo is playing so this is alot of jackanory bullsh*t im afraid. Wish folk would stop making up lies
Agree0

He's playing right now on ESPN for Chile against Uruguay so this is utter garbage.
Agree0
Disagree0
Would be excellent signing but doubt it
Agree0
Disagree0
Not saying this is true but yous do know it is possible to sign him while he is over there, all it would take is him going through a medical while he is over there
Agree0
Disagree0
Why would they want to loan out one of their best goal scorers?
Agree0
Disagree0
Just checked him out wiki. . . seemingly his current club have $25 mil buy out clause. so doubt he'll be coming to govan on loan
Agree0
Disagree0
He went to real zagaroza on loan so it could happen...

Strong Rumours my way, im an Ayrshire lad, of the Name Steven McGinn, i know Big Kirk Broadfoot no lie, my mum is best pals wae his mum, Big Kirky, Has Stated, That McCoist Is Strongly Only Looking Towards The Defensive Signings Rightnow As Evey Other Aspect Of The Feild Is Strong, Dont Get Me Wrong They Will Sign Players From Other Possitions, Its Just The Back Line It Lacking
McGinn
Believable8
Unbelievable8
I think it's a given that the defence is lacking. I think we need a solid and reliable partner for Jelavic though. Fair enough, if Lafferty can produce the goods all season long instead of just at the end then Im happy from him and Jela to lead the line but I'd prefer someone more campaign consistant rather than split consistent up front.
Cuellar and Bartley for defence with Goodwillie and Jelavic up front would be my pairings.

Jelavic isnt goin anywhere.okaka would be the ideal partnership for jelavic wishfull thinking though.
Agree0
Disagree0
Spurs interest in Jelavic was revealed during recent discussions with the Ibrox hierarchy regarding possible loan deals for some of Spur's fringe players. IF and only if the deal goes ahead McCoist will make a move for Lens who is seen as a perfect replacement for Jelavic. McCoist has given up on Goodwillie as the player has decided to head south so has turned his attentions to Okaka who has agreed on the move with the chance to play Champions League football the deciding factor. As for Eremenko the deal is all but done and will be finalised in the next couple of days. Both the Eremenko and Okaka deals are the ones being mentioned in the press as being near to completion. The source is good

EVERYBODY REMEMBER PLEASE
This is not ally's first game ever as manager, walter admitted that the scot cup games were all managed by ally for the last 2 seasons. the first season he took charge he won it, thats not bad going in your first season. Ok he wasnt the "official" manager but he was just as well as being when walter was in the stand.
Last night wasnt a bad result, they only lost one goal (65mins) when they changed 7 or 8 players for the new u-21's that are being given a chance which is great for the future, ok they lost but i rather them lose last night, learn from there mistakes and get used to playing together under ally in the first team than lose on the first game of the season. Anyway in no important league or cup games are we gona make that many changes in a match in one go.
No worries guys, its gona be alright. 4in a row an we're finally in the dough, we just need to get this craig whyte to put his money where his mouth is an show how much he "loves" rangers and he's not just using us to make coin on land or something belonging to rangers.
AND is this Andrew ellis guy going to contribute any money to transfers or is he just sitting about waiting to make money of us. Does much of the land round ibrox belong to rangers cause i heard a rumour he is just there to build an develope the land round there? If he is going to get that land and build on it an end up keeping the loot for himself then what good is he to us?
Also another rumour is that craig whyte thinks this HMRC bill is going to come in and its gonna send us bust then he can buy us for nothing with no debt My question is tho, will that send us into another lower league or what? i find that rumour B.S but you never know.
THIS IS A NORMAL RUMOUR ED , AT LEAST ITS NOT LIKE SOME OF THE PISH PEOPLE ARE PUTTING ON HERE. HONESTLY WONDER WHAT GOES THROUGH SOME PEOPLES HEADS.
Thanks for your time btw ED {Ed025's Note - good post....i enjoyed that

Ally picked the team for the cup games and Walter kept an eye on him This was his first game in charge but it was a friendly. It doesn't matter not important win or lose like the above post says first game that counts is 23rd.
Ellis isn't going to put any money upfront He's going to develop land round ibrox and eventually (when we decide on which plans are best) he'll develop the stadium.
Ellis is building using his own cash and he'll hang onto the profits until it becomes profitable. Then it's a joint venture between rangers n Ellis Its gonna be good for rangers and it'll improve the look of the govan area
Agree0
Disagree0
1. CIS cup games ally was in charge but Walter always had the final say ?
2. Last season against the cup game against Celtic (in fact both games) was Walter not standing in the dug out calling the shots ? Soon as we went a goal down he wad right down from the stand.
3. So it was ally's first game as manager ?
4. Game last night means nothing these games are just about fitness. Judge us against proper freindies I.e chelsea game etc
5. We have no dough you think whyte is gonna make the same mistake as murray did. No chance we will spend some but nothing like we used to like 10 years ago ?
5.
Agree0

Two posts above, since when did ellis become involved your a couple of months behind mate.
Agree0
Disagree0
Agree with most of your points except a couple.
"Whyte: Put your money where you mouth is" = ridiculous. We have just been brought back from the brink.. and you want us to return to our past habits? Did you enjoy the mole that was Lloyd's representative in the board room? Mr Whyte will bring a new approach to all things Rangers. Yes, we have money to spend but we are going to spend it shrewdly. We are going to buy established but yet players with potential and a reasonable sell on fee.
We also have Ali Douglas looking to exploit the global market, the world, making Rangers into a money making machine; benefiting everybody involved with the club.
We have the club, and most importantly our owner, biting back at all the critics and media who constantly aim at the club.
Like you say, this is Ally's FIRST year as manager of the club he loves, he won't want to make any rash decisions like PLG did.
Another thing regarding Whyte. Why would he buy is if he thought we were going to lose the case and go bust? He'd be a pound out of pocket if that was the case. He'd probably end up spending more overall to bring us back from the third division... which wouldn't happen. If we went bust we wouldn't exist. Rangers Athletic or something would be our name and we'd be in the non-leagues. We wouldn't be able to come back up and would require a situation similar to Gretna and Annan to do so. Some other team goes bust and we get elected back into the football league.
If we, unlikely though, went into administration, we would be deducted points (I believe it's only 10/15 in the SPL) for the following season or mid-season depending on when it occurred.
Once again, however, I don't believe for one minute Whyte or anyone would touch the club if we were going to lose the case. Our legal advisers said we'll win it, and they wouldn't say that unless absolutely sure. If there was any uncertainty they would say that. Our previous Chairman Mr Johnstone was very unreliable in terms of info transmitted to the support. He said we would win it on advice from the legal team and Mr Whyte, who doesn't see eye to eye with the previous board, says himself we'll win it.
It is against the law for information to be leaked from these tribunals etc so all the sites and journalists claiming to be in the know are talking rubbish. Phil Mac, rangerstaxcase.com (or whatever it is) and anyone else know nothing about anything regarding the current stance with the tax case.
For me, Andrew Ellis is here as the man aimed at improving the clubs fortunes through development programs. The club are already looking at developing land around the stadium with a hotel, shopping centre etc.
Another avenue the club should go down is the franchise of club shops especially with JJB's financial troubles.
Anyway, I've argued the points I didn't agree with you on.
You shouldn't worry about the future of the club under Mr Whyte for the moment. He's taking us in a new direction, has been standing up for the club and taking a strong stance.
The future is bright, 55 and 4 in the row is coming. If things are maintained 10 in a row could very well be a realistic target as they suffer without the monies from the UCL.

Just goin to analyse what, in my opinion, is needed for us to challenge domestically and to progress beyond Christmas in Europe next year.
Firstly, I am delighted that McGregor & Whittaker have signed long term deals. If Davis now signs on this will be excellent business.
I do not know much about Juan Manuel Ortiz, but as ever with an unknown player, it is exciting as we wait to find out if Ally and the rest have unearthed a gem.
In terms of additions to the current squad, I feel we need a minimum of 3 more signings, although ideally I would like to see 5 more come in.
A centre back would be my number 1 priority, with Carlos Cuellar the obvious choice, hopefully at around the £2m mark.
I'd also like to see Kyle Bartley return on loan as he can play centre back or as a deep central midfielder.
I think in terms of midfield we need a creative spark who is clever with the ball and can play killer passes. I would like to see Alexei Eremenko come in. He played very well for Kilmarnock and looked like he could play at a much higher level. Failing that, a return for Pedro Mendes would be great also. Both are available on frees.
Up top I feel we are short. Kyle Lafferty, for me, is not good enough. He had a good end to the season but I'm still not convinced. I would love to see David Goodwillie join, he is a Rangers fan and obviously wants to be here, I also think £2m is a fair price.
DJ Campbell is another I would like us to sign. Offering £1.5m would just about get us there I think. He has proved he can score goals for a small team at a high level, so shouldn't have any problems settling in the SPL with Rangers.
That would see our spending reach £6m including the Ortiz deal, which I do not think is too unrealistic.
James Beattie, Kyle Lafferty & Maurice Edu should be offloaded, possibly fetching £500k, £2m and £1.5m respectively. Therefore, effectively we would only be spending £2m in the transfer market, while enhancing the squad significantly.
Any thoughts Ed?
Believable4
Unbelievable14
4 ins and 3 outs, that equates to one in, you have just said we need at least THREE, idealy you would like to see FIVE, so where are the others coming from ? We would still be short if you offload, and whilst I agree with those you propose OUT, we would still need to strengthen and spend, yes, no ? Just an observation mate
Agree0
Disagree0
Agree with most of your point view but dont like signing player that have all ready been with us because they are the same player with a bigger pay packet. I would sign the rest of the players you said but my main disagreement with your point is big laff no way sould we be letting him go he is turning into one of the most important players at the club.
Agree0
Disagree0
I enjoyed reading this and the whole thing is realistic and i totally agree
Agree0
Disagree0
Sounds realistic enough however, offloading these guys and replacing them still leaves the squad threadbare, we need a couple of quality signings and a few squad players for another long tough season. 4IAR......
Tom.
Agree0
Disagree0
Some reasonable observations but the way Kyle Lafferty finished the season and the fact is he is still improving - I disagree totally we should sell him. He is still a young talented lad and he can make an impact this season. Hope I am not the only one who feels this way Yorkie Lad
Agree0
Disagree0
I agree with a lot of it but don't get rid of Lafferty. I think he will be an important player for next season
Agree0
Disagree0
2 Points, I am not a great lafferty fan but the last half dozen games he was a stick out, as for edu do you really think someone would pay 1.5 ml ????
Agree0
Disagree0
DJ Campbell will go to Newcastle United, I believe they are to table a bid of £1.25 Mil, so that don't look good for a Rangers move. Wages we cannot match... next ?
Agree0
Disagree0
Doesn't make sense, you want 3 preferably 5 in, and 3 out. Considering we lost loan players from last season, that would leave us with an even smaller club.
That's why we want to keep as many winners that have been over the course before, which is why I would keep Lafferty and Edu, even then we still need about 5 more players.
Pedro No he's past his best.
Eremenko No personally I think he's too much of a passenger at times.
Apart from that I agree with the rest.
Agree0
Disagree0
This is agreeable most of it and alot of it does make sense, but selling the likes of Edu and Lafferty isn't good because what we're trying to do is increase our numbers not replace players.
Kyle Lafferty hasn't been given a proper consistent run upfront and when he has he's shown he has the ability to score goals and link up great with the legend that is Jelavic.
As for Edu he's good to keep on the bench would like to see us bring in a good central midfielder like Alexei Eremenko and then Edu on the bench for back-up because he is capable of being good if he was more consistent.
Beattie would say give him a chance but he's a 33 year old who hasn't scored in well over a year or so.
We will follow on
Agree0
Disagree0
Lafferty was immense upfront with Jelavic in the SPL run in.
Jelavic and Lafferty first choice strike force 4 me.Give him a chance.
Agree0
Disagree0
Not to bad a list.....not convinced by DJ Campbell.....but think Goodwillie would be a great signing....i think Lafferty is coming onto a game and would rather keep him.
Mendes is 32 now and is not a long term solution....Eremenko i like and would bring him in as he can cover around 4 positions.....but i think we need a midfield enforcer who can go and let davis and the rest play.......not sure who we could afford that is better than what we have i.e. Edu...Mcculloch.....I do think that Ness is the long term partner for Davis
At the back totally agree....Cuellar would be immense esp if we could keep Boogie....Bartley i like the look of and would bring him back....
Think we need another winger.....again i have seen Bedoya linked he is a left sided american international.......
Just wish we would get the finger out and sign a few more
Agree0
Disagree0
If we sold laff and edu we would need to buy 2 more folk as the squad is already tiny
Agree0
Disagree0
I would normally have agreed to your 'outs'. I'd been unimpressed by Lafferty since he arrived right up until the final games of last season. I think we should continue with Lafferty & Jelavic up front with Naisy in behind. Remember it's a new combo - we've been playing 4-5-1 until Wattie started to smell the coffee and Jelly had been out half a season - and hopefully will be even better this coming season. If we get the Lafferty of old then he should go.

the 2 players coming in havent been mentioned as rangers targets. rangers dont want competition from other clubs for players. my source couldnt tell me any names only said they were buys not loans. the loan deals will be done nearer the end of the transfer window. dont think they are german either coz he said they would fly out to germany to meet up with squad on monday after they've signed

I think one of the signings that's close is Alexei Eremenko it said that he's to choose between Rangers, Celtic and Spanish clubs yesterday or something and today it said that McCoist is closing in on two new signings but isn't revealing their identity right now. Maybe it's Eremenko and he's not wanting everyone to jump on the bandwagon. Would love to see it personall. Kind of player who could come on and provide a spark.

You may be correct brother but I think u r wrong I think if we wanted him we would have got him by now, myself thinks SUPER ALLY has thrown a curve ball I think it could be the aussie jedinak when SUPER ALLY says the chances r less than 50-50 I think that means about 70-30 in our favour, we know he wants a central mid player because he tried for danns and I think he was trying not to get our hopes built up having watched a good bit of footage of jedinak I would rather have him good box to box player with eye for goal but I think he would stand up to our style of football in this country eremenko got sent off a few times because of stupid tackles where he felt hard done by and talking of stupid tackles I am not going to slaughter the guy because he is 1 of us but big jig must be a squad player, my heart is in my mouth anytime he tackles as I say I won't slaughter him because at least he puts everything into his tackles but also when was the last time u seen him making a defence splitting pass but anyway in the words of the GREAT MARVIN ANDREWS KEEP BELEIVING BROTHER
Agree0

Eremenko did say at the end of last season he would prefer to stay in Scotland (since he bought too much stuff here to move it elsewhere), and Rangers were his preferred club since Celtic have about 6 times the playing staff...

I think we could do a lot worse than sign Eremenko, at Killie everything went through him. They fell to bits the last game of the season against us because he was suspended. I reckon he could do well in a bigger team with better players around him.

i have yet to read a 'rumour' that has actually happened. not one mention of juanma before he signed, on this page. sick of reading people who 'bumped' into craig whyte at petrol stations or boumsong in sydney. come on teddy bears be realistic only ally knows his targets and we only know cuellar and goodwillie. who would i like to see at rangers? anthony vanden borre. wouldnt cost much and would jump at the chance to sign for rangers. also roland juhasz, hungarian defender, a leader and good aerial threat. john fleck will leave on loan to hearts if rangers sign wallace.

I would love to see rangers get tshabala not sure how much he would cost probz about £2m and phillipe coutinho from inter on loan should really splash out for cuellar when he's back from injury him and boughie would be unbeatable in defence what do use think?
Believable3

I agree, think we need a winger like that.

I really hope we get Cuellar but I actually think Bougherra is worse than Weir. He constantly rushes in behind people to try and steal the ball early and either fouls them or gets turned. He has a poor attitude, ie AWOL and the way he acts towards referees. Now Cuellar and Bartley, to me that would be a good defence.

Blackpool still havn't payed the 500 000 for him so that should be payed on top of the 15-20% sell on fee. should be about 1.5m
