Just read that Chapter Cifuentes contract could be ripped up as club don't think they can get a fee and just happy to get him off wage bill. Reported by DR of course. Can surely get some sort of fee you would think.

We can't just rip up his contract though unless he agrees. if we do then I imagine we would have to give him the wages he is due for the rest of his agreeement. rather than do that we would have been better to accept the money the greek club offered. I suspect it is a DR special to rile Rangers fans.

You can only get a fee if someone wants him.

Surely we could look to loan him out again and charge a fee? From a business perspective would make more sense.

From a footballing perspective Cifuentes doesn't want to be in Glasgow and it doesn't seem there is a place here for him. Shouldn't mean contracts for multimillion pound assets get ripped up though?

Saw that, I think chat was both player and club were happy to terminate the contract so he can go and find himself a new club. If both agree to it then it can happen. But I'm pretty doubtful myself, you do not see that very often at all. I would have thought the club would prefer to try and get some kind of fee for him, and I can only imagine the payer would agree to waiving the remainder of his contract if he was fairly certain someone was coming in for him on a similar wage. Who knows, but I can't see this happening.

The DR over time has turned into a clickbait peddler in line with the other sites that do this. Actually surprised how many Rangers fans still click on them because of how negative they are towards our club. I understand doing that is a good business model for them but not why Rangers fans would support thier model by clicking.

Though to be fair there is likely some psychological exploitation going on which drives this.

I thought the club he was on loan to were wanting him but for a reduction in the fee that was agreed. I can't see us rejecting that and then just letting him go for free.

Terrible signing, I don't like the weather, Jesus I don't like the weather but still need to put a shift in. Beale has a lot to answer for.

Cant he go back to the MLS, he must of looked ok for us to get him in the first place, tin pot league I know but gets him back to where the football suits him.

Yet another example of Beale's disastrous taste in player.

I'd like to think he's worth some sort of upfront fee, at the very least I'd want to negotiate performance related fees and sell on percentage from his next club if we're that desperate to get him out the door to free up wages.

TJB the article did reference a return to MLS might be possible. Wonder if the 49ers can use their US contacts to get something in place for him and off our wage bill with a small fee attached.

Why would we knock back a reduced fee just to let him go for nothing, weird one.

Tony I still have a look after they were right on 49s and Russel Martin.

The Greek team did mot want to pay 4 million but offered 2 million so why rip up contract.

John I asked you last week did but it was threads down, did you hear of any interest in Cifuentes from Olympiacos?

17.) 10 Jul 2025

Exactly what john says you would just accept the 2 rather than release makes no sense.

Ows it was Dave king that told Keith's Jackson about the takeover and they named about 20 managers before RM also were due to get it right at some point ?‍♂️.

Mental that he was rated at 12m not long before we signed him really.

22.) 10 Jul 2025
10 Jul 2025 19:33:54
The team that he was on loan to wanted to buy him but the board would not drop there asking price so they walked away.

Angus the way I read it I think its a mutual decision. If its true then that must mean there was no concrete offers otherwise as John said we would have took any offer on the table.

24.) 10 Jul 2025
10 Jul 2025 21:21:06
Did the Greek team actually make an offer?! If there is any truth in what DR are saying it would suggest not.

25.) 10 Jul 2025
10 Jul 2025 22:22:27
Considering we signed him for something like 1.5mil euros and he was considered to be a very decent player, transfermarkt still had his value about 5mil euros I think ( I know that's not the be all and end all) but still definitely value there. If he's not going to feature regularly then just sell for what we can get for him, longer he's here not playing the less we will get for him.

26.) 10 Jul 2025
10 Jul 2025 22:39:28
I don't know if I trust Peruvian newspaper Diario Expreso to know about RM plans for Cifu but would make no sense to let him go when there's over 7 weeks of the window still to go during which he could impress RM or attract interest from elsewhere.

Probably the rag trying to light a fire because there's no news coming out of Ibrox so they'll make their own

Not seen enough of the lad, but if he isn't for the squad a sensible loan would be beneficial, look at the success Cerny had now he is valued more than what his fee is.
