If harry forrester has signed for rangers on a 6 month deal I'm wondering WHY only for 6 months? I trust warburton's judgement to the hilt and he seems to really rate and like forrester so this why I'm baffled to it only being a 6 month contract, can anyone else shed some light on this?

I was led to believe that its a 6 month loan deal as his contract is up in the summer, if this is the case then it makes sense to me. Boy can prove his fitness and his ability and then we can sign him up in the summer.

Why such a short deal?
If he does prove himself and get his career back on track, he'll be free to foxtrot oscar in the summer for nowt.

I am sure that there is more to it than we are aware of and assuming that he shows his worth then there is already an agreement between him am Warburton that he will sign on for a longer term assuming of course that we are promoted to the Premier League.

I get a good feeling about this guy and hope he can regain the obvious talent that he has!

Here we go, from the horses mouth,

24-year-old Forrester signed an initial six-month deal to team up with old boss Mark Warburton today but is already eager to do enough to extend his stay beyond that.

Talking to Rangers official website Forrester said: “This move huge for me. This is one of the biggest clubs in Europe and I am privileged to be here and privileged to put on the shirt, and I want now to show people what I can do on the field.

“It’s only a six month deal as we speak, but hopefully I can get on the pitch and show everyone what I can do and we’ll talk from there.

So looks like he needs to prove himself before earning longer deal, which could be a double edged sword, prove yourself and someone else comes a knocking.

It seems it was Rangers who made the deal 6 months and the boy is eager to show what he can do and it's a privelage to sign for such a huge huge club. Shrewd but if business and it seems the ball is firmly in our court. Give the boy a chance to prove himself then decide. More like it.

There are obviously reasons he was not featuring for Doncaster and I don't think it was due to his obvious ability, might have been due to him lacking in the more defensive duties required at a club like Doncaster.

Warburton and Rangers are carrying out due diligence on this guy it is a good way to operate, if we had bagged him on a 3 year contract and he was a bad egg we re stuck paying him 5k per week for 3 years. I for one love the way we are doing our business at the moment, its a breath of fresh air and something I don't think I have ever seen us doing very well.

It's def not a loan deal it's def a full transfer with an undisclosed fee. Smart but of business by us as the boy is desp to play for us and is willing to prove himself. Happy 2016 bears!
