A wee change of subject I'd like to share with all bears here but nonetheless still a very important subject for our club, a prominent source of mine told me last night that dave king is going to take his chances in court and end our contracts with both sports direct and puma as the both deals are hand in hand which is really very unfortunate for puma, we have 7 years still left with sports direct and 2 years with puma as our kit manufacturers left which king is poised to cut short after speaking and taking advice from his prominent lawyers, was also told he's talking to adidas, nike and uniqlo as our possible new kit manufacturers which will be a very good amount of money and which ever sportswear firm he goes with they will get also sponsorship of a part of the stadium, has anyone else heard anything regarding what could be very important and much needed finance for our great club?

I haven't heard anything but if we could that would be a fantastic move though, one thing that does worry me though is another drawn out court case on another hand i think we have to hit this head on, all your info has been spot on so it'll keep my hopes up and I'll pray for an adidas deal.

Hope you are right Warbs. It would be a major step in the right direction if it works out well for us.

Any ideas of the worst case scenario regarding such court case possibilities? I'm assuming King will have asked such a question himself.

here's hoping something is done sooner rather than later. Every fan I know is dying to buy merchandise again and start putting money back into the club.

Just speculating here (im certainly no lawyer) , but worse case scenario would probably be us having to pay millions in damages to Sports Direct. The question i'm asking is, Would those contracts not be null and void if mr green and mr whyte are found guilty of illegal aquisition, fraud, serious organised crime etc?

blueranger - would hope so, but the way charges are being dropped, I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.

you can't see Ashley walking away from a 7 year deal
but one would imagine with promotion to the premier league
and potential football there is a lo of potential cash to be made mr king may have bite the bullet and give Ashley the pay out so the bears can start shopping again.

Bil72 have you seen what charges have been dropped? The lesser charges have been dropped which is normal for courts to do, especially when they have you by the balls on bigger charges.

Blueranger - not automatically but it would give grounds to appeal to court to void the agreement. Which we would need to argue out in court with sports direct. Not guaranteed by any stretch as green wasn't the only party that signed deal on our behalf.

This is the ONLY realistic way the deal will end early. Otherwise we currently have no legal grounds to challenge the deal (even though it is an obvious stitch up) and are relying on good will from MA to agree to early termination (right before he'll freezes over) .

Perhaps (this won't be a popular idea) but it's time to seek a mediator between king and Ashley as there is no chance of these men agreeing on anything.

Not a lawyer either but work with a couple. If Lambias and Leech were signatories of the deal then we may have a case. Purely because of the SFA rules on influence. The case would be unlikely to succeed unless they were still employed by Ashley at the time. The actual wording of the agreement is crucial too apparently.

If this was possible it'd have been done.

The campbell I think we would have had to wait until we had paid the pie man his 5 million ( which we have now done) before we could make any move on getting these contracts looked into, however I think our board are waiting on the court case regarding the fraud (allegedly) before they take this terrible contract any further, then hopefully the contracts will be torn up or rewriting,

Big rumour in Newcastle is he has dropped the asking price for them and is listening to offers, . That is the case, can he then increase his holding in Rangers just to piss us all off.

No Henderson, as there are no share available to have any kind of influence. The only way he could acquire shares at present is by buying out existing shares and nobody with significant holding will sell.

He could in theory buy out his cohorts in the Easedale block, but he would have to sell Newcastle first which will take a few years. I think his interests in Rangers are finally fading, Sport Direct name is being destroyed in the media and he's suffered some public humiliation by judges with regards to using the court as a tool for his own gain.

It's whether the resolution is presented again to diluted shares with a new issue is proposed at AGM and whether Ashley seek a futher court injunction to stop it again. But by now I think he realises he won't have control of Rangers, anything he does now is wasting money to make a point.

I think he has done enough of that now and will move on. Sports Direct shares are nose diving and his personal fortunate has been significantly reduced, he has bigger issues to worry about than a vendetta with Rangers.
