Folks, what's the thoughts on what I've been told. My father in law was at a charity do the other week and the goalie was there who my father in law got talking to and apparently once Mike Ashley sells Newcastle, he's going to buy rangers as he and DK are on amicable terms now. I know many will say they don't want him near the club, however after another gutless, leaderless, clueless display today coupled with the court ruling that DK has to make an £11 million share offer and he's already stated he can't afford it where do we go from here? We've taken 2 months to appoint an under 20's coach who's tactical knowledge is limited to say the least, players who just aren't good enough but we paid a fortune for and can't afford to get rid of them. Should we take Mike Ashley's money or be happy with mid table mediocrity for years to come?

Mike Ashley does what ever he has to in order to get the best deal for him and his company. A lot of rangers fans hate him for being able to get the deal he did. Good business though for him. Ultimately Ashley has very deep pockets and if his intimate goal is to get his brand in Europe he could do that relatively cheaply with Rangers. The last Rangers team that won the league was put together for 22.5 million if I’m correct. Could be wrong but it wasn’t far off it. If he wants to invest and it leads to better quality of player and better leadership from above then why not. Can’t be worse than what’s going on right now

The goalie will spout any old nonsense to anyone who's willing to buy him a drink.

Ashley can do one, I don't have a short memory.

Why do people keep going on about Ashley wanting to get his brand in Europe? You do realise he could just sponsor the shirt of another league winner, it's not expensive! Unlike buying and running a club. We can't allow another owner to come in and not have Rangers interests at heart, we need to learn to live within our means, that shouldn't mean we have to watch dross week in week out, it just means we have to run our club more efficiently.
Any manager coming in will still have the second largest in the league and should be able to challenge Celtic. They are not that great as their performances in Europe have shown.

Well said zikos
I've been saying the same for years but most fans want us to run before we can walk. I might take time but we will get there. Most fans prise this board but what have they actually done (apart from some putting their hands in their pockets which we all appreciate) . They got rid of Ashley (at a price) but gave us the 2 worse managers in our history. What's their plans for our commercial department. Will they open stores, have a distribution network and storage Or go back to Ashley or AN Other and try and get the 7p in the £ up to 9p and claim a other wonderful victory for the board.

Funny how people still think he will invest in the clubs he has owned. Everything he allegedly puts in are just interest free loans. Look at the Newcastle deal. Total deal is 330 million and 180 mill are to pay back the interest free loans. Seems weird that given all the money from the perm and I parachute payments that he would have to put loans in. Clear as day he has been withdrawing this cash and running the club in interest free loans (which he ll get back) seems a bit familiar with the 500k payment for the loan of the Newcastle 5 right after we got 500k for McLeod!

Be careful what you wish for. Yes he could pump in millions, but at what cost? Renaming stadiums, merchandising, selling training complex. who knows.

Is this acceptable if we win league and have a good team on the park?

This Ashley thing is rubbish, getting his brand across Europe, first after Brexit it won't matter about selling into Europe, second Champions League have I think five main sponsors who advertise at their games all other sponsors are covered up on these nights as has happened at Ibrox when we last played in Europe, so any Sports Direct signs would not be allowed to appear during these games, remember the mess he left Newcastle in I'm afraid there is no sugar daddy we had one chance to build a team this board blew it, employed two dud managers gave them millions to spend and we have a team full of duds .

Now we have Murty who has been hung out to dry by this inept board we needed a man in who would drag this club up by its shoe laces just like Sounnes did all those years ago forget he had a huge budget I'm talking about presence about a man the players feared a Jock Wallace a man who would have stripped the paint off the dressing room walls after our recent results Murty is an U20s coach he is out of his depth.

I'm not having a go at him in fact I feel sorry for him he could not turn the job down now he is the man in front of the cameras taking all the flack for the boards mistakes will they hide in their dark tower releasing daft statements criticising people who said no to their job, they should look at themselves in the mirror and ask how long can we keep making a complete mess of this club before the fans walk.

I've supported this club for nearly forty years I've seen less than ten thousand at games so please don't give me we don't do walking away I've sat their when fans had walked so we are in a very precarious position here and I really fear for our clubs future unless the board pull some rabbits out of the hat in the Jan transfer window to lift the morale of the fans just let's see the crowd on Wed it may tell us a lot see yous there
