Murty has gone. don’t blame him the way he has been treated. job too big for him but he tried his best after being thrown to the wolves. we have lost a good u20’s coach now. hope he is ok mentally after what’s been said in press about his mind set after game Sunday.

yes - wish him all the best for the future. Was never the right man for the job, but that's not his fault. the board really needs to look at itself for the carry on since appointing Pedro. The lack of transparency and comment from them is poor.

Maybe he will get his old job back Bluey. He deserves that at least, it was his boys that won the cup yesterday.

He was at the under 17s last nite and he looked fine

Totally agree blue nose. I said to my old man that the outcome would be that we would lose a good coach. The job was too big for him, plus the players owe him a huge apology. Not his fault and he tried his best. Hopefully he moves on to a good job somewhere.

The guy was hung out to dry, and undermined continually by the board before big games. His only mistake I see was taking the Job on.
The DOF and the board seem to be walking away from all this unscathed, the job was not too big for him, it’s the board thinking they are to big for there boots

I am sure Murty didn't realise the magnitude of the job unfortunately. I still can't buy into the fact Celtic are so far ahead especially on the back of the way Hibs and Hearts ran then ragged and Kilmarnock beat them. Aberdeen seem to have the same mental block when they encounter Celtic as us. Gerrard may not be the best option but can't see what is so worth the risk.

Why would he return to the under 20s after the way he’s been treated. Our board are a disgrace. No wonder we’re a laughing stock.

He will find another job now, no way will he continue on with us in any copasity after how he has been treated. Underminded and disrespected by the men in power. The same men who put trust and faith in him when no one else was intrested. Cheap option and now a scape goat. There is no wonder the others call us Gullibillies. Big Dave and his gang will yet again go on a positivity spin as they always do to ensure they get the season ticket money rolling in. They care for none of us, just our hard earned. i'm fed up. Steven Gerrard, they need to do better than that for this years spin. At least last year he promised us all the season ticket money as player investment. Gerrard will hopefully custard pie us. I have no understanding how some of us are excited by this prospect. DO ANY OF YOU REMEMBER JOHN BARNES? Jesus at least he had Kenny Dalglish behind the scenes and that wasnt enough it was a massive gamble and it was and still is the catalyst for one of the greatest backpages in sports history. Super caley go balistic celtic are attrotious. We are heading for disaster with this team and that appointment.

Have to agree, the guy gave his all and I wish him all the best in the future. He took on a job at a time where no1 really wanted it and gave it his all, was undermined by the club and a few senior players (who need to stand up and be counted imo) .

Our youth setup will be poorer without guys like Murty! I hope he goes on to have success elsewhere now.

Sorry but have to disagree, the under 20’s form has never been so good and the under 17’s won the cup last night against celtic. He was a good guy when things are going well it was fine but when the going got tough he didn’t have what it took to fire the squad up for the games and ultimately his lack of any apparent tactics or ability to change a game not going our way was plain to see. How can you play 4-3-3 every week and expect results, we aren’t Barcelona we can’t do that. The systems need to be changeable on who we play, don’t buy this crap we are Rangers others will change for us, nobody is scared to play us now so we must adapt and bring that back ourselves. As for Gerrard, my biggest point would be who else? Who else do you want/ trust to do a job. because barring Walter or Sir Alex out of retirement which is never going to happen there really isn’t many coaches out there on our budget with a proven track record.

I really feel for Murty, as all have said thrown to the wolves the boards treatment of the man have been nothing short of disgraceful. I also noted in his last statement that he said he wanted the job and that the squad of players weren't his. which makes you think even in Jan he had no say on the players coming in. who have all been disappointing for me anyway.

Murty was not the answer to our managerial problem but he has been treated appallingly by the board. I believe he tried his best but he’s been undermined by the board and probably some players. Wish him all the best and hopefully he remains at the club in some manner

I don't see how he's been treated appalling by the board. he was given a job to do. And yes he tried his best. But his best wasn't good enough. Really shocking performancees, team lay out and subs against celtic. Poor media displays. Saying it isn't his problem it's the guys on the field! And the whole Wallace and Miller fiasco. I wish him well but the board put faith in him and he blew it. Now I hope the board get the next appointment right.

Agree dvt1200 . let's hope Stevie G can do what all the others can't so far, put out a team with passion and a bit of fighting spirit.

Murty was never up for it. weak and tactically inept.

Punter. You talk as if Stevie G is already our manager. I keep saying he could potentially custard pie us. How many times do we need to go through this. Get a grip. Until he is named leave it be.

Sorry guys but I’m not buying into this “Murty thrown to the wolves”,

Your all beginning to sound like Brenda Rodgers. Truth is Murty stepped up when asked and up until the recent Old Firm match at Ibrox was turning in decent performances and results, to the point that we actually thought we could challenge for the league

However after that match the wheels have come off the bus, mainly as a result of poor tactics, player selections and formations. which were all his decisions.
The Semi Final briught all the player frustrations to the surface and he’s never recovered from that

His body language on the touch line and the total lack of interaction between, Murty, Nichol and Johannsen has been there for all to see

I’m not buying “it’s the Boards fault”. Graeme Murty wanted the job, he wanted the scrutiny and evaluation of his capabilities in order to secure the job for himself, it hasn’t worked out for one simple reason.,

“He’s not good enough to be Rangers Manager”

I hope he’s OK and trust that taking on the role hasn’t ended his career in the game, but fundamentally he wanted it

He wasn’t undermined by Kings statement or speculation surrounding Stevie G, he always knew it was to the end of the season and before King released the statement and Stevie G was in the frame, the writing was on the wall that he wasn’t good enough to take us forward

He’s a lovely guy, I’ve met him, but nice guys don’t win prizes

Dont know how people are saying he was hung out to dry, he got offered the job and he acccepted it. for whatever reasons its not worked out. we appreciate your efforts graeme murty, but now the coaches need to get these players to roll there sleeves up and show a bit of fight to finnish 2nd or 3rd. Its been a tough season lads but Hopefully we hear about a new management team this week. Get some quality players in early and they get a solid pre season. Hopefully we get a couple of nice strips made from hummell. And we get ready for hopefully a good season. FOLLOW FOLLOW

Who's going to want to come to us when our board have been involved In some controversial goings on with managers. We aren't far as far behind Celtic as pundits like to say but we will be if we don't bring in players who can put in a shift. Some of the worst displays I seen on Sunday were from guys who support our club. i'm going to say it, Murphy has done nothing since he's came in, holt is too light weight, Halliday is just straight rubbish. He would struggle to get into a Scottish championship team. Has dorrans really brought in the displays we thought he would? None of these so called supporters of our club looked like they gave a f@@£! I will say this though, we have massively missed Ryan Jack.
